Rhagolwg: Treffynnon / Preview: Holywell

Treffynnon / Holywell Bydd Port yn teithio i Dreffynnon ddydd Sadwrn a’u hyder yn uchel ar l perfformiad campus yn erbyn Airbus, clwb a oedd wedi sefydlu eu hunain ar ben y tabl ac yn ffefrynnau i ennill dyrchafiad.
Bydd yn golled i Craig Papirnyk fod heb ei brif sgoriwr, Joe Chaplin, am yr wyhtnosau nesaf ond bydd hyn yn rhoi cyfle i Meilir Williams, sydd wedi bod ymysg y goliau wrth ddod o’r fainc. Hefyd mae yna gwestiwn am ffitrwydd Tom Taylor, chwaraewr sydd wedi creu argraff ers ymuno.
Gm rhwng y 3ydd a’r 5ed fydd hon, a dim ond gwahaniaeth goliau yn rhannu’r ddau glwb. Dim ond unwaith mae Treffynnon wedi colli y tymor hwn a hynny adref i Airbus. Maent hefyd wedi cael pedair gm gyfartal allan o’u wyth gm y tymor hwn. Chwaraewr sydd wedi gwneud ei farc ers ymuno a Treffynnon ydy Steve Lewis sydd yn rhwydo’n rheolaidd iddynt, fel mae Jamie McDaid, cyn chwaraewr Port. wedi gwneud.
Gallwn ddisgwyl gm gystadleuol agos pnawn Sadwrn, fel mae’r gemau diweddar rhwng y ddau wedi bod. C’mon Port!

Port wll travel to Holywell on Saturday buoyed by their excellent three points on Saturday pegging back the leaders, Airbus, at a time when the Airfield club were beginning to establish themselves as firm favourites for a quick return to the WPL.
It will be a worry for Craig Papirnyk that he will be without leading scorer Joe Chaplin for the next few weeks but that presents an opportunity for Meilir Williams, who has been among the goals when coming from the bench. Also a concern that Tom Taylor, who has made his mark during his two appearances, had to leave the pitch on Saturday.
It will be a game of 3rd playing 5th in the table with only goal difference separating the two Holywell have been beaten only once this season and that came at home to Airbus but they have drawn four of their eight games. Steve Lewis has made his mark at the club since joining at the start of the season and has been a regular scorer as has former Port forward Jamie McDaid.
We can anticipate another close encounter on Saturday as indeed games between the two clubs have been in recent seasons. C’mon Port.

Gohirio gemau Academi / Academy games postponed

Oherwydd glaw trwm bu’n rhaid gohirio’r gemau Dan18 a Dan14 a oedd i’w chwarae heddiw (dydd Sul).
Gobeithio fydd y gm Dan 14 yn cael ei chwarae ar Y Traeth nos yfory ac nid yn Y Bermo fel y bwriadwyd yn wreiddiol.
Does dim dyddiad eto i’r tm Dan 18.

The U18s and U 14s games to be played today (Sunday) have had to be postponed due to the heavy rain which has fallen.
It is hoped that the U14s game will be played tomorrow night (Monday) at the Traeth and not the previous venue at Barmouth.
There is no date yet for the U18s game.

Dan 18 ar Y Traeth / U18s at home

Pnawn Sul (24 Medi) bydd yr hogiau Dan18 yn chwarae eu gm gartref gyntaf yng Nghynghrair Ieuenctid Dyffryn Clwyd. Llanfairpwll fydd yr ymwelwyr.

Bydd y tm Dan 10 yn chwarae Cae Glyn yn Ysgol Huw Owen bore Sul am 10.30pm.
C’mon Port a cefnogwch yr hogiau.

Rhagolwg/Prevew: Airbus Brychdyn

Noddwr/ Match Sponsor: Bernie Smith Pwllheli
Airbus, y clwb ar frig y tabl, fydd yr ymwelwyr i’r Traeth pnawn Sadwrn. Yn anffodus mae’r gm hon yn dilyn colli dwy gm yn olynnol ac yn gosod tasg fawr iawn i’r tm heb fawr o amser i baratoi ac i ail wampio. Yr unig nodyn positif ydy fod yn gyfle buan i wneud yn iawn, gan nad ydy’r tm wedi mynd yn un gwael dros nos.
Bydd Craig Papirnyk yn fwy ymwybodol na neb o faint y dasg gan fod clwb y Maes Awyr wedi rhoi y golled yn erbyn Queen’s Park tu l iddynt yn sydyn iawn a sefydlu eu hunain ar frig y tabl gan rybuddio pawb eu bod am ddychwelyd i UGC a hynny yn sydyn iawn. Mae Alfons Fosu-Mesah, eu blaenwr newydd o’r Iseldiroedd, yn profi ei hun yn chwaraewr allweddol iddynt, gyda’i sgorio cyson. Mae record Airbus o 5 buddugoliaeth yn olynnol a 6 budugoliaeth mewn 7 gm yn dangos fod tasg anodd yn ein gwynebu pnawn Sadwrn.
Mae colli yn erbyn Dinbych a Chaergybi wedi bod yn dolc yn ein cychwyn addawol i’r tymor, felly cael pethau yn l ar y cledrau fydd y dasg yn ystod y gemau nesaf. C’mon Port

League leaders Airbus will be the visitors to the Traeth on Saturday. Coming on the back of two straight defeats it presents the squad with a very difficult task and a very quick turnaround which gives little time to prepare. The only positive aspect is that it gives an early opportunity to get things right, as the team has not suddenly become a poor one overnight.
Manager Craig Papirnyk will be only too aware of the size of the task as Airbus after an eary wobble have established themselves as frontrunners serving notice that they are going for a quick return to the WPL. Alfons Fosu-Mesah their new Dutch striker has been a key figure in their winning run of form with his regular goalscoring. Five straight wins and six in seven games shows that they mean business and will be extremly difficult opponents on Saturday.
Defeats against Denbigh and Holyhead have dented Port’s promising start to the season so getting things back on track will be the aim over the next two or three games. C’mon Port
18/09/17
Rhagolwg: Caergybi / Prevew: Holyhead Hotspurs

Bydd Port yn teithio i Gaergybi nos Fercher i chwarae Hogiau’r Harbwr a hynny am yr ail dro y tymor hwn. Bydd y ddau glwb yn croesawu’r cyfle cynnar hwn i wenud yn iawn am eu colledion y Sadwrn diwethaf. Consyrn Port bydd y bedair gl a sgoriwyd yn eu herbyn ar Y Traeth, tra fydd Caergybi, a’u record diguro wedi mynd draw yn Cegidfa, yn chwilio am fuddugoliaeth i adfer hyder. Ond bydd gan Port mwy o reswm am geisio cadw eu record oddi cartref, a hynny yn dilyn colli yn erbyn yr Hotspyrs yng Nghwpan Nathaniel MG o 5-3. Gobeithiwn yn fawr weld Dan Roberts a Tom Taylor yn l yng nghanol yr amddiffyn ar ll bod yn absennol y Sadwrn diwethaf.
Y tymor diwethaf Port enillodd y ddwy gm gynghrair rhwng y ddau clwb on y tymor hwn mae Campbell Harrison wedi cryfhau ei garfan gyda chwaraewyr fel John Littlemore, Alex Boss a Chris Jones.
Mae colli yn erbyn Dinbych yn golygu fod Port wedi syrthio dau safle i 4ydd yn y tabl ond gyda 20 gl yn dal ’r nifer uchaf yn y tabl. Ond ar y llaw arall mae’r 11 gl yn eu herbyn yn fwy na’r timau eraill o’u cwmpas. Hawdd gweld felly lle sydd angen gwella. Sialens fawr nos Fercher -Cmon Port!

On Wednesday Port travel to Holyhead to take on the Habourmen for the second time this season. Both clubs will welcome the early opportunity to put things right after suffering defeats last Saturday. Port will be concerned to have conceded four goals at home while the Hotspurs will want to get back to winning after losimg their unbeaten record at Guilsfield. Port will have an extra incentive to continue their good away form having gone down 5-3 to the Hotspurs in the Nathaniel MG Cup. Let’s hope that the new partners at the heart of the defence, Tom Taylor and Dan Roberts, missing on Saturday, will be back on Wednesday.
Last season Port did a league double over Hotspurs but Campbell Harrison has added quality to his squad as we saw in the Traeth encounter from John Littlemore, Alex Boss and Chris Jones.
Saturday’s defeat means that Port drop two places to 4th spot but we remain the league’s leading scorers with 20 goals but letting in 11 is also more than our immediate rivals. It is clear therefore where we can improve. A big challenge on Wednesday: C’mon Port!

Dechrau da Dan18 / Winning start for U18s

Cafodd y tm Dan 18 fuddugolieth o 2-0 dros Mynydd Tigers ar gae Beach Road Bangor heddiw. Hon oedd eu gm gyntaf yng Nghynghrair Ieuenctid Dyffryn Clwyd.
Rhys Hughes sgoriodd y dwy g^l i Port, daeth y gyntaf ar l 14 munud ac ychwanegodd yr ail ar 70 munud i sicrhau’r fuddugoliaeth.
Sylw y Rheolwr, Sion Eifion yn dilyn y gm oedd, “Roedd yn dda cael y 3 phwynt ar y bwrdd gyda perfformiad proffesiynol gan yr hogiau ar gae ofnadwy. Digon i weithio arno yn ystod yr wythnos nesaf!”
Da iawn hogiau, Cychwyn grt!

Rhys Hughes scored both Port goals, the first coming after 14 minutes and he added a second to seal the win on 70 minutes.
Coach Sion Eifion said after the game, “Nice to get 3 points on the board. Professional display from the boys on a terrible pitch. Plenty to work on in the week!”
Well done lads. Great start.

Rhagolwg: Dinbych / Preview: Denbigh Town

Noddwyr / Match Sponsor: Grey Slate and Stone

Dinbych / Denbigh Dinbych bydd yn weld ’r Traeth pnawn Sadwrn. Y Sadwrn diwethaf cawsant fuddugoliaeth swmpus o 5-1 dros Cyffordd Llandudno, y clwb ar waelod y tabl. Roedd yna 5 enw gwahanol ar rhestr y sgorwyr gan gynnwys cyn chwaraewr Port; Josh Davies. Cymysg fu record Dinbych hyd yma, yn ennill 2 a cholli 3 gan golli o saith gl yn erbyn Caernarfon a pump adre yn erbyn Treffynnon.
Yn dilyn y perfformiad a'r fuddugoliaeth gampus yn erbyn Caersws y Sadwrn diwethaf bydd Port yn awyddus i gadw’r pwysau ar Airbus, y tm ar y brig a nhw fydd y clwb yn ymweld ’r Traeth ar 23 Medi .Yn eu dwy gm oddi cartref mae Port wedi sgorio 12 gl a gobethio caiff y cefnogwyr cartref eu gweld yn cynnal y math yma o record sgorio. Wedi’i hatric y Sadwrn ddiwethaf mae Joe Chaplin bellach ar ben rhestr sgorwyr yr HGA, gan gadarnhau fod Craig Papirnyk wedi arwyddo dipyn o dalent. Yn wir mae cyfanswm goliau y clwb yn ein gwneud yn brif sgorwyr yr HGA; un mwy na Chaernarfon. Hefyd, yn ei gm gyntaf, cafwyd perfformiad awdurdodol yn y cefn gan Tom Taylor.
Ond peth peryg iawn fyddai diystyrru ein gwrthwynebwyr gan fod disgwyl i dm sydd yn cynnwys chwaraewyr o safon Kristian Pierce, Josh Davies a Warren Duckett i ddringo’r tabl yn weddol gyflym. Edrychwn ymlaen at gm gystadleuol arall. C’mon Port!

Denbigh Town will be the visitors to the Traeth on Saturday. They come on the back of a 5-1 home victory over bottom club Llandudno Junction. There were five different scorers including former Port striker Josh Davies. Their record so far this season has been mixed, winning 2 and losing 3 of their league games and shipping five goals against Holywell and seven to Caernarfon.
Following on from their win and excellent performance at Caersws last weekend, Port must look to keep up the pressure on league leaders Airbus who will be at the Traeth on Saturday 23 September. On the road Port have scored 12 goals in their two games and they will look to maintain their goal touch in front of their home supporters. Joe Chaplin’s hat-trick at Caersws sees him move to the top of the HGA goalscorers list and confrms that Craig Papirnyk has made a great signing and this has gone a long way to solving the lack of goal power last season. The tally of 17 goals so far this season edges them one ahead of Caernarfon as the HGA’s leading scorers. At Caersws we saw a commanding debut at the back from Tom Taylor.
However you cannot underestimate Saturday’s opponents despite their mixed start, as we can expect a team containing players of the quality of Kristian Pierce, Josh Davies and Warren Duckett to move rapidly up the table. We can look forward to another competitive game. C’mon Port!

Diolch i Michael Stringer / Michael Stringer’s generous donation

Wrth ddiolch meddai’r cadeirydd, Phil Jones, “Mae Mr Stringer am i’w rodd gael ei rannu rhwng yr Academi a’r Cynllun Pl-droed yn y Gymuned. Mae’n dweud fod hyn mewn gwerthfawrogiad o’r gwaith gwych a chaled sy’n cael ei wneud gan y ddwy adran yma o’r clwb.”
“Clwych, Clwych” cytunodd Phil gan ddiolch unwaith eto ac addo bydd yr arian yn cael ei ddefnyddio i hybu ieuenctid yr ardal.

Rhagolwg / Preview: Caersws

Caersws Yn dilyn y gm yng Nghwpan Nathaniel MG a wedyn y toriad ar gyfer y gemau rhyngwladol, bydd Port yn dychwelyd at y gynghrair gan ymweld a glannau’r Hafren yn Caersws. Mae’r clwb o’r canolbarth wedi chwarae ond tair gm gynghrair, yn colli allan ar gm ar yr ail wythnos ar l i’r Rhaeadr dynnu allan. Ei record hyd yma ydy ennill un, cyfartal un a cholli un. Cawsant gm gyfartal yn erbyn y newydd ddyfodiaid FC Queen’s Park ar ddiwrnod cyntaf y tymor, colli’n drwm yn erbyn eu cymdogion o Gegidfa cyn ennill am y tro cyntaf yn Cyffordd Llandudno.
Bu Caersws yn arwyddo dros yr haf ac y wyneb newydd mwyaf adnabyddus ydy Luke Sherbon yn ymuno o Aberystwyth. Ar y llaw arall mae un arall o’r chwaraewyr newydd Ross Stephens eisoes wedi gadael i ymuno Prestatyn.
Bu’r ddau glwb yn elynion cyfeillgar ers ddyddiau Uwch Gynghrair Cymru a’r tro yma bydd Port yn edrych i dalu’r pwyth ar l colli o 3-1 yno y tymor diwethaf. Wedi cyffro’r gm gwpan yn erbyn Caergybi gallwn ddisgwyl gm dynn pnawn Sadwrn wrth ddychwelyd at y gemau bara menyn. C’mon Port!

Following the Nathaniel MG Cup tie and then the international break, Port return to league action with a visit to the Recreation Ground at Caersws. The mid-Wales club have played three league games, missing out on the 2nd week of the season due to Rhayader’s withdrawal. Their record shows a win a draw and a defeat. They drew with newcomers FC Queen’s Park on the first day of the season, suffered a heavy defeat to neighbours Guilsfield before getting their first win at Llandudno Junction.
Caersws have recruited over the summer and one significant signing was that of Luke Sherbon an experienced forward from Aberystwyth. But another new face, Ross Stephens, has already left for Prestatyn.
The rivalry between the two clubs goes back to WPL days and Port will be looking to avenge a 3-1 defeat on their last visit. Following the excitement of the cup-tie with Holyhead we can expect a tighter game on Saturday as we return to the bread and butter fixtures. C’mon Port!

"Yn ystod ei flwyddyn gyntaf fel swyddog cymunedol pl-droed gyda CPD Porthmadog, mae Gethin yn gweithio gyda 15 o ysgolion trwy gydol y flwyddyn ac yn helpu plant bach i ddechrau chwarae pl-droed, ac i garu'r gem. “Gweithiodd y clwb yn agos gyda Mike Parry, rheolwr partneriaeth yn yr FAW Trust, er mwyn sefydlu sesiynau 'Girls Turn Up & Play', sy'n rhywbeth nad yw'r ardal wedi gwelders blynyddoedd.

Yn ogystal a hyn mae yna ẅyl pel-droed mini, ym mhartneriaeth gyda chynghrair ieuenctid Lln ac Eifionydd, lle roedd cyfle i 18 o dimau i chwarae a mwynhau mewn amgylchedd ddiogel, a gweld tlws yr UEFA Champions League yn ystod y dydd.”

Here is the FAW Trust’s statement at the Community Awards presentation to Port’s Football in the Community project.
“Porthmadog FITC have achieved an awful lot as McDonald’s/FAW Fun Football Provider. They currently work with 15 schools across South Gwynedd, providing the children with their first experiences of football, helping them to fall in love with the game, whilst also linking football sessions with literacy and numeracy activities.
“The club has worked closely with FAW partnership manager, Mike Parry, to set up girls turn-up and play sessions, something that has not been seen in the local community for many years.
“They also lead holiday clubs, where over 140 children attended across the week during the Easter period and have hosted 10 events across the summer. Also a mini football festival in conjunction with the Lln and Eifionydd Junior League where 18 teams were able to play in a fun and safe environment with the UEFA Champions League Trophy in attendance.”

Anrhydedd i’r Cynllun Pl-droed yn y Gymuned / Honour for Football in the Community Project

Roedd yn brofiad grt i gefnogwyr CPD Porthmadog glywed enw Cynllun Pl-droed yn y Gymuned y clwb yn cael ei enwi fel ‘Clwb Cymunedol Hwyl Pl-droed y Flwyddyn’ yr Ymddiriedolaeth Bl-droed Cyhoeddywd hyn yn ystod hanner-amser y gm rhyngwaldol rhwng Cymru ac Awstria yn Stadiwm Dinas Caerdydd nos Sadwrn.

Chris Coleman yn cyflwyno'r wobr / Chris Coleman presents the award

What a great moment for those CPD Porthmadog supporters present at the international at Cardiff City Stadium, hearing their club’s Football in the Community Project announced as FAW Trust 'Fun Football Community Club of the Year' during the interval in Saturday’s game.
Congratulations to Gethin Jones and his coaching team on receiving this award. It is a well deserved recognition for all the hard work which has seen this project built from the bottom up in a very short period of time. This award was earned in the face of competition from professional clubs.
Over the period, some hundreds of children in Gwynedd have beniftted from the Literacy and Numeracy courses run by the Porthmadog Football in the Community. Also coaching on a Turn up and Play basis for girls has been established with 30 or more girls turning up to play weekly. Throughout the summer football coaching schools have been held at centres like Tywyn and Dolgellau as well as at the Traeth.
A short video has been produced by the FAW Trust to show why the Football in the Community project is an award winner. You can access this on the Port twitter account.
