23/04/09 Rhagolwg: v Aberystwyth / Preview: v Aberystwyth Diolch i’r hyn a ddigwyddodd yng Nghaersws ddydd Sadwrn gall Port chwarae’r gêm olaf y tymor gan wybod fod eu lle yn UGC yn ddiogel ar gyfer tymor 2009/10. Y tymor diwethaf aeth y cyfan i’r gêm olaf un, felly gellir dadlau fod cyrraedd diogelwch a hynny wythnos gyfan cyn y diwedd yn rhyw fath o welliant! Ni fyddai gêm yn erbyn clwb sydd wedi cyrraedd Ffeinal Cwpan Cymru heb ei phroblemau pe byddai angen 3 phwynt ar Port i gyrraedd y lan. Cafwyd perfformiadau gyda’r gorau o’r tymor adref yn erbyn Port Talbot a Hwlffordd a byddai sicrhau’r 6 phwynt wedi bod yn haeddiannol. Yn anffodus anghysondeb ydy nodwedd y tymor drwyddo ac yn y gêm ddiwethaf draw yng Nghei Conna dangoswyd yn glir pam fu hwn yn dymor arall o frwydro yn y gwaelodion. Ddydd Sadwrn fydd y cyfle olaf i chwaraewyr greu argraff ar y rheolwr cyn iddo fynd ati i ail adeiladu’r garfan ar gyfer y tymor nesaf. Byddant heb Steve Kehoe sydd wedi derbyn gwaharddiad o bedair gêm yn dilyn ei ail gerdyn coch o’r tymor yn Cei Conna. Mae hyn yn dilyn ar anafiadau tymor hir i Gareth Parry a Marcus Orlik -sydd wedi gorffen y tymor fel y cychwynodd iddo, drwy dorri asgwrn yn ei droed. Mae’n bosib bydd gan Aberystwyth un llygad i gyfeiriad y Ffeinal ond mae ganddynt garfan gryf gyda Christion Edwards ac Aneurin Thomas yn rhoi digonedd o brofiad yn y cefn tra fod Tom Bradshaw wedi dangos addewid mawr wrth chwarae yn y blaen gyda Kellaway a Graham Evans. Ewch i i roi bet ar Porthmadog v Aberystwyth. Thanks to events at Caersws last Saturday, Port can at least approach the last game of the season knowing that their place in the Welsh Premier is secure for 2009/10. Last season it went to the wire before safety was reached and so reaching safety in the penultimate week marks some kind of progress! A game against the Welsh Cup finalists, Aberystwyth, would not have been without its problems had 3 points been needed from it to reach safety. In their last two home games -against Port Talbot and Haverfordwest- Porthmadog have produced two of their best all-round performances of the season and with a little luck they could have secured all six points. Unfortunately inconsistency has been a marked feature of the season and in their last outing at Connah’s Quay they showed only to clearly why this season has been another long struggle. Saturday’s game represents the last opportunity for players to impress the manager before he sets about a rebuilding programme. They will be without Steve Kehoe who has received a four match ban following a season’s second red card at Connah’s Quay. This follows on long term injuries to Gareth Parry and Marcus Orlik -whose season has ended as it began with a broken bone in his foot. Aberystwyth may well have one eye on the Cup Final but they have a strong squad with veteran defenders Christian Edwards and Aneurin Thomas always proving difficult to breakdown while up front youngster Tom Bradshaw has emerged as a big talent to partner Kellaway or Graham Evans. Visit to place a bet on Porthmadog v Aberystwyth. 21/04/09 Rowndiau Terfynol Dan-11 Cymru / Welsh Under 11s Finals Bydd rowndiau terfynol Cystadleuaeth Bechgyn Ysgol Dan-11 Cymru yn cael eu chwarae yng Nghlwb Chwaraeon Madog ddydd Sadwrn hwn (25/4/09) am 10am. Mae tîm dan-11 Port yn un o’r 8 clwb o bob rhan o Gymru sydd wedi cyrraedd rownd yr 8 olaf, sy’n dyst i waith caled y Swyddog Datblygu Evan Evans a’r holl hogiau dros y tymor. Ewch draw i ddangos eich cefnogaeth i’r hogiau. The finals of the Welsh Schoolboys Competition for Under 11s will be played at Clwb Chwaraeon Madog this Saturday (25/4/09) at 10am. The Port Under 11s is one of 8 clubs form across Wales to reach the last 8 of the competition, testament to the hard work of the Development Officer Evan Evans and all the lads over the season. Why not go along to show your support to the lads. 20/04/09 Lotri Wythnosol Clwb Pêl-droed Porthmadog / Porthmadog Football Club Weekly Draw Enillydd gwobr wythnos 16 o £100 yn Lotri Wythnos Clwb Pêl-droed Porthmadog yw rhif 161 Carole Jones o Gellilydan. Ffurflen Gais / Application Form | Mandad Archeb Sefydlog / Standing Order Mandate The winner of the £100 prize in week 16 of the Porthmadog Football Club Weekly Draw is No 161 Carole Jones of Gellilydan. For your chance to win, fill the above form. 19/04/09 Liam Shanahan yng ngharfan Dan-18 Cymru / Liam Shanahan in Welsh U-18 squad. Mae golwr Porthmadog, Liam Shanahan, wedi’i gynnwys yng ngharfan Dan-18 Cymru ar gyfer y gêm yng nghystadleuaeth Tarian Carnegie, yn erbyn Gogledd Iwerddon, i’w chynnal ar faes Ffordd Llanellian, Bae Colwyn nos yfory (ddydd Llun, 17 Ebrill) gyda’r gic gyntaf am 7 o’r gloch. Mae yna enwau eraill yn y garfan a fydd yn canu cloch gyda chefnogwyr Porthmadog fel Michael Cronshaw (Cei Conna) a sgoriodd ddwywaith yn y gêm gynghrair ar Llun y Pasg, Kerry Morgan (Castell Nedd) sydd wedi achosi dipyn o drafferthion i amddiffyn Porthmadog gyda’i gyflymder a Caio Iwan (Bangor). Mynediad £5 i oedolion a £1 (dan 16). Porthmadog keeper Liam Shanahan has been included in the Welsh Schools Under-18s squad to face Northern Ireland in a Carnegie Centenary Shield fixture at Llanelian Road, Colwyn Bay tomorrow night (Monday, April 20) with a 7.00pm kick off. Other names, familiar to Port supporters, included in the squad are Michael Cronshaw (Connah’s Quay Nomads) who scored twice against Porthmadog in the WPL fixture on Easter Monday, Kerry Morgan (Neath Athletic) whose pace has proved a problem for Porthmadog defences in the past and Caio Iwan (Bangor) . Admission is £5 for Adults and £1 for children (Under 16). 18/04/09 Port yn aros fyny! / Port staying up! Diflannodd gofidiau Porthmadog diolch i ddigwyddiadau yng Nghaersws lle sicrhaodd Derwyddon Cefn fuddugoliaeth hwyr iawn diolch i gôl, Ricky Evans o’r smotyn, dwy funud o’r diwedd. Roedd Chris Melia wedi rhoi Caersws ar y blaen yn yr hanner cyntaf ond daeth y Derwyddon yn ôl yn ar ôl yr egwyl i wneud y sgôr yn gyfartal a wedyn y gôl hwyr yn rhoi diwedd ar gyfnod di-dor Caersws yn UGC. Mae siom Caersws yn rhyddhad i bawb sy’n gysylltiedig a Phorthmadog gan fyddai mynd i’r gêm olaf yn erbyn Aberystwyth ac angen y tri phwynt wedi bod yn dasg anodd. Gobeithio rŵan y bydd Marc Lloyd Williams yn aros ar Y Traeth a bydd Tomi Morgan yn cychwyn ar y dasg o ailadeiladu’r garfan. Llongyfarchiadau gwresog i’r Rhyl ar eu tymor rhagorol yn sicrhau pencampwriaeth cwbl haeddiannol. Llongyfarchiadau hefyd i Allan Bickerstaff a oedd llynedd yn helpu i gadw Port yn UGC (yn erbyn Y Rhyl!) ond eleni yn arwain gwrthwynebwyr llynedd i’r brig. Porthmadog’s relegation worries have disappeared thanks to events at the Recreation Ground, Caersws where Cefn Druids snatched a late, late victory as a result of an 88th minute Ricky Evans penalty. Chris Melia had put Caersws ahead in the first half lead but Druids drew level in the second period before securing that late winner to end Caersws’s previously unbroken membership of the WPL. It is a mighty relief for all connected with Porthmadog, as going into next Saturday’s fixture with Aberystwyth needing three points would not have been an easy task. Let us hope now that Marc Lloyd Williams will stay at the Traeth for next season and that Tomi Morgan can begin the task of rebuilding his squad. Warmest congratulations to Rhyl on their magnificent season making them worthy winners of the WPL title. Congratulations to Allan Bickerstaff who helped to save Port last season (against Rhyl!) and now has put last season’s opponents on top of the pile! 13/04/09 Lotri Wythnosol Clwb Pêl-droed Porthmadog / Porthmadog Football Club Weekly Draw Enillydd y wobr o £100 ar wythnos 15 yw rhif 178, Wendy Langford o Flaenau Ffestiniog. Am eich cyfle chi i ennill, llenwch y ffurflen hon. Ffurflen Gais / Application Form | Mandad Archeb Sefydlog / Standing Order Mandate The winner of the £100 prize for Week 15 is number 178, Wendy Langford of Blaenau Ffestiniog. Sgoriodd Marc Lloyd Williams ei 300fed gôl yn erbyn Hwlffordd ddoe, gôl a helpodd sicrhau buddugoliaeth bwysig i Porthmadog yn eu brwydr i osgoi’r cwymp. Hon hefyd oedd ei hanner canfed gôl mewn crys Port. Cyrhaeddodd y targed enfawr hwn mewn 385 o gemau ac mae’n garreg filltir arall mewn gyrfa rhyfeddol ac yn gosod record na fydd neb o bosib yn ei guro. Dechreuodd ar y llwybr o sgorio goliau yn ôl yn nhymor cyntaf Uwch Gynghrair Cymru (UGC) 1992/93. Daeth y gyntaf o’r tri chant ar 22 Medi 1992 yng Nglyn Ebwy mewn gêm gyfartal 1-1. Yn ei dymor cyntaf dim ond chwe gôl oedd ei gyfanswm ond yn y tymor canlynol cychwynnodd o ddifri ar y busnes sgorio gyda 22 gôl mewn 38 gêm. Wedi iddo ymuno a chlwb Bangor yn 1994/95 daliodd ati i sgorio’n gyson ac yn nhymor 2001/02 aeth i lefel uwch eto yn sgorio cyfanswm anhygoel o 47 gôl mewn 33 o gemau. Yn ystod ei gyfnodau gyda Bangor sgoriodd gyfanswm o 149 o goliau a hefyd 60 gôl i TNS sydd hefyd yn record i’r clwb hwnnw. Yn ystod gyrfa a welodd yn cynrychioli chwech o glybiau UGC sgoriodd hefyd 18 gôl i Aberystwyth, 16 i’r Drenewydd a 7 i’r Rhyl. Mae wedi sgorio 6 gôl mewn gêm ddwywaith –yn erbyn Rhaeadr a Llanelli. Wrth ddychwelyd i Porthmadog i sgorio’r 300fed gôl mae wedi cwblhau’r cylch gan ddychwelyd i’r lle bu dechrau’r daith. Profodd unwaith eto ei reddf naturiol fel sgoriwr a sgorio dros ugain gwaith i dîm fu’n brwydro yn y gwaelodion drwy’r tymor. Llongyfarchiadau Jiws ac ymlaen at y 400! Marc Lloyd Williams’ 300th goal scored against Haverfordwest yesterday helped pave the way for an important three points for Porthmadog. This was also his 50th goal for the club. His remarkable tally has been achieved in 385 League games. It is yet another landmark in a fantastic career and sets a record which may well never be beaten. A career dedicated to scoring goals started with Porthmadog in the WPL’s inaugural season 1992/93. His first ever WPL goal came on September 22nd 1992 at Ebbw Vale in a 1-1 draw. In his first season he scored only six goals but in 1993/94 his career took off when he scored 22 goals in 38 games. Following a move to Bangor for season 1994/95 he continued to score goals and indeed his goalscoring exploits reached a new high in 2001/02 when he scored an amazing 47 goals for Bangor in 33 appearances. He totalled 149 goals in Bangor colours and a club record 60 goals for TNS. His much travelled career record also includes 18 goals for Aberystwyth, 16 for Newtown and 7 for Rhyl. He has scored 6 goals in a game on two occasions against Rhayader and Llanelli. His return to Porthmadog to score the 300th has completed the circle and brought him back to where the journey began. Scoring over 20 goals for a team struggling near the bottom is a clear sign that the natural instincts of the outstanding goal scorer remain intact. Congratulations Jiws and onward to the 400! 09/04/09 Rhagolwg: Gemau’r Pasg / Preview: Easter Matches Gyda tair gêm yn weddill bydd rhaid i Borthmadog fanteisio ar y ffaith eu bod yn chwarae adref gan obeithio y bydd yna gefnogaeth gref a swnllyd. Ond mantais amheus fu chwarae adref yn erbyn Hwlffordd dros y blynyddoedd gan fod y tîm o Sir Benfro wedi ennill ar eu pedwar ymweliad diwethaf â’r Traeth. Yn y pedair gêm honno dim ond un gôl mae Port wedi sgorio tra fod yr ymwelwyr wedi rhwydo 11 gôl. Jack Christopher ydy’r gwr peryglus wedi sgorio 19 gôl eleni gyda Nicky Woodrow yn ei gynorthwyo. Ond mae Port, er gwaethaf eu gwendidau wrth amddiffyn, wedi sgorio’n gyson, a gôl Eifion ddydd Sadwrn oedd yr 50fed gôl o’r tymor. Dim ond dau glwb arall tu allan i’r tri uchaf sydd wedi gwneud hyn. Gobeithio fydd Jiws yn cael ei 300fed gôl ddydd Sadwrn a bydd hyn yn sbarduno ymdrech fawr ddiwedd tymor. Ar Llun y Pasg byddwn yn ymweld a Stadiwm Glannau Dyfrdwy i chwarae Cei Conna clwb sydd heb chwarae cystal yn ddiweddar. Mae yna faterion i ffwrdd o’r cae sydd o bosib wedi effeithio eu perfformiadau a dim ond unwaith maent wedi ennill yn eu chwe gêm ddiwethaf. Daeth y fuddugoliaeth honno yn eu gêm ddiwethaf sef curo Prestatyn o 3-1. Mae’n siwr na welwn gêm debyg i honno a welwyd ar y Traeth pan ddaeth Port yn ôl i ennill 6-5 ar ôl bod ar ei hol hi o 5-1 gyda 20 munud yn weddill. Gêm ddydd Llun fydd y cyfle olaf i sicrhau y dwbl dros unrhywun ac yn edrych fel gêm bydd yn rhaid ei hennill. Nid yw’r cyfan yn ddiflastod gan mai’r perfformiad yn erbyn Port Talbot oedd y gorau ers tipyn ac o gymryd eu cyfleoedd yn yr hanner cyntaf byddent wedi ennill yn gyfforddus. Ewch i i roi bet ar Porthmadog v Hwlffordd. With only three games left Porthmadog will have to make the most of the home advantage and let’s hope for plenty of noisy support. Playing at home however is a doubtful advantage when Haverfordwest are the visitors for the last four visits have resulted in four convincing wins for the Pembrokeshire club. In the four games Porthmadog have only managed 1 goal against the visitors 11 goals. Jack Christopher is their dangerman with 19 goals this season and ably supported by Nicky Woodrow. But in each their last four games (prior to Tuesday’s 3-0 win over Aberystwyth) they have not managed more than one goal, yet this tally has produced 3 wins and a draw. But Porthmadog, despite their defensive frailties, have a healthy ‘goals for’ tally with Eifion’s goal on Saturday being the 50th of the season. Only two other clubs outside the top three have achieved this. Let’s hope that Jiws can notch his 300 goal on Saturday and trigger a fighting finish to the season. Easter Monday sees us at the Deeside Stadium against a Connah’s Quay side who have seen a dip in their form lately. There have been off the field issues which appear to have affected the Nomads performances and they have only won one of their last six games. But that one win, by 3-1, came in their last outing at home to Prestatyn. One thing we are unlikely to see in this encounter is a repeat of the amazing Porthmadog recovery from 5-1, with 20 minutes left, to win by 6-5. Monday’s game represents the last chance for a double this season and now looks like a ‘must win’ game. All however is not doom and gloom, for the performance against Port Talbot was by far the best for sometime and had chances been taken in the opening half a comfortable win could have resulted. Visit to place a bet on Porthmadog v Haverfordwest. 09/04/09 Cewri ar y Traeth / Legends To Feature At The Traeth Mae sawl cawr o'r byd pêl-droed wedi ymddangos ar gae pêl-droed y Traeth, cartref clwb pêl-droed Porthmadog gan gynnwys Mark Hughes, Mel Charles, Stanley Mathews, Ivor Allchurch, Mike England, Nobby Styles a llawer mwy. Ond ar nos Wener 8 Mai bydd dau o gewri’r byd adloniant Cymreig yn ymddangos yno mewn cyngerdd sef Dafydd Iwan a'r Band a'r Tebot Piws. Trefnwyd 'Noson Fawr y Flwyddyn' gan y clwb i helpu dathlu ei ben-blwydd yn 125 oed eleni ac mae'n rhan o nifer o weithgareddau sydd ar y gweill yn ystod y flwyddyn. Am fwy o wybodaeth a/neu docynnau cysylltwch â Dafydd Wyn ar 07810057444. The event, organised by the club, is part of its year long programme to celebrate its 125th. birthday this year. Formed in 1884 it has been an integral part of the economic, social and cultural life of the area. This time it is the turn of Welsh music legends." For more information and/or tickets contact Dafydd Wyn on 07810057444. 09/04/09 Enillydd y Lotri Wythnosol / Weekly Draw winner Enillydd y wobr o £100 yn Wythnos 14 Lotri Wythnosol Clwb Pêl-droed Porthmadog oedd Rhif 8, Pete Bennet o Borthmadog. Lawrlwythwch y ffurflen pdf i gael cyfle i ennill y wobr y tro nesaf! Ffurflen Gais / Application Form | Mandad Archeb Sefydlog / Standing Order Mandate The winner of the £100 prize in week 14 of the Porthmadog Football Club Weekly Draw is Number 8, Pete Bennet of Porthmadog. Download the pdf form to be in with a chance to win the prize next time! 03/04/09 Paul yn gwneud ffafr i Port / Paul does Port a favour Yn y gêm heno rhwng Caersws a’r Trallwng, gwnaeth Paul Roberts ffafr enfawr i’w hen glwb, drwy sgorio yn y funud olaf i roi buddugoliaeth i’r Trallwng a chadw Caersws ddau bwynt tu ôl i Port. Yn y gemau eraill, methodd Prestatyn sicrhau eu dyfodol yn y gynghrair gan golli o 3-1 yn erbyn Cei Connah, canlyniad sydd i bob pwrpas yn sicrhau dyfodol y clwb o Lannau Dyfrdwy yn y Gynghrair. Roedd rhaid i Lanelli aros tan y funud olaf i sicrhau buddugoliaeth yn erbyn Hwlffordd diolch i gôl gan Stuart Roberts. In tonight’s match between Caersws and Welshpool, Paul Roberts did his former club a massive favour, scoring in the last minute to secure Welshpool’s victory, keeping Caersws two points behind Port. In the other matches, Prestatyn failed in their quest to secure their league future, losing by 3-1 against Connah’s Quay, a result that virtually secures the Deeside club’s League future. Llanelli had to wait until the last minute to earn a victory against Haverfordwest courtesy of a Stuart Roberts goal. 03/04/09 Llongyfarchiadau Danny Rylance / Well done Danny Rylance Llongyfarchiadau i Danny Rylance blaenwr ifanc Port ar sicrhau fod tîm Dan-18 Arfordir y Gogledd yn cadw eu gafael ar Gwpan RAM Leisure. Sicrhaodd tîm Dan-18 yr Arfordir fuddugoliaeth dros Canolbarth Cymru o 2-1 gyda Danny Rylance yn sgorio’r gôl a enillodd y gêm. Sgoriwyd gôl arall yr Arfordir gan Karl Murray o Brestatyn. Disgrifiwyd y gêm gan yr Herald fel hysbyseb ffantastig i bêl-droed ieuenctid yng Nghymru. Congratulations to Danny Rylance, Port’s teenage striker, on his match winning performance ensuring that the North Wales Coast Under-18s retained their RAM Leisure Cup. The North Wales Coast U-18’s defeated Central Wales by 2-1 with Danny Rylance scoring the winning goal. The other Coast goal was scored by Karl Murray of Prestatyn. The Herald described the game as fantastic advert for youth football in Wales. 03/04/09 Yr Ail Dîm ym mis Mawrth / The Reserves March Round-up O’r pedair gêm ym mis Mawrth cafwyd un buddugoliaeth –yng ngêm ola’r mis- gyda dwy gêm yn gorffen yn gyfartal ac un wedi’i cholli. Roedd gôl Iestyn Woolway ar ôl 57 munud yn ddigon i’r Ail Dîm rhannu’r pwyntiau yn Bodedern. I ddilyn cafwyd gêm gyfartal arall adref yn erbyn myfyrwyr Bangor 1-1 gyda Steven Jones yn sgorio’r gôl i Port yn yr hanner cyntaf. Colli’n drwm fu’r hanes yn Bethel o 6-3. Erbyn hanner amser roedd Bethel 4 gôl ar y blaen yn cynnwys hat tric gan Ioan Hughes. Tarodd Port yn ôl gyda dwy gôl mewn dwy funud yn yr ail hanner gyda Danny Rylance a Mark Bridge yn sgorio. Ond daeth dwy gôl arall i Bethel i roi diwedd ar yr adfywiad a gôl gysur y unig oedd ail gôl Mark Bridge. The four league games played in March produced one win -in the last game of the month- to go with two draws and a defeat. A 57th minute goal from Iestyn Woolway proved enough to give the reserves a share of the points at Bodedern. This was followed by another draw, this time at home to the Bangor students. Steven Jones put Port ahead in the opening half but the students equalized in the second half. The visit to Bethel saw the reserves go down heavily by 6-3. Bethel were four goals up by half time -including a hat trick by Ioan Hughes. Port struck back after the interval with two goals in two minutes from Danny Rylance and Mark Bridge but two more Bethel goals put paid to the revival and a late goal by Mark Bridge could not affect the final outcome. The visit of Rhiwlas provided Port with a win. A Iestyn Woolway hat trick in the first half hour put Port on the way to victory with Mark Bridge adding a fourth before the end. 02/04/09 Rhagolwg: v Port Talbot/ Preview: v Port Talbot Ddydd Sadwrn bydd Porthmadog, sydd ar rhediad gwael ac heb ennill am bedair gêm, yn croesawu Port Talbot i’r Traeth. Ond nid amser i edrych yn ôl ydy hwn ond cyfle i ganolbwyntio ar y gêm nesaf -a honno yn unig- heb edrych ymlaen ddim pellach. Efallai mai dilyn esiampl Wayne Phillips sydd angen ar Porthmadog a cymryd y gêm fel Ffeinal y Gwpan. Mae o wedi gweithio i Wayne a ddywedodd fod ei glwb yn wynebu cyfres o gemau terfynol. a bellach mae’n methu peidio ennill! Gêm arall ddigon anodd fydd un ddydd Sadwrn wrth i Borthmadog wynebu clwb sydd wedi ennill chwe gêm oddi cartref y tymor hwn a wedi dod yn gyfartal mewn pedair gêm. Bydd rhaid i Porthmadog ganfod eu hysbrydoliaeth wrth edrych yn ôl at berfformiad ardderchog i lawr yn Port Talbot pan sicrhawyd buddugoliaeth o 3-1 gyda Nigel Tucker, rheolwr y tîm o’r de, yn colli ei swydd yn syth ar ôl y gêm. Ond dyw hyd yn oed perfformiad da arall ddim yn debygol o arwain at i’r un peth ddigwydd i’r rheolwr presennol, Mark Jones. sydd wedi adfywio’r clwb. Mae wedi codi Port Talbot i’r wythfed safle a dim ond un o’r chwe gêm ddiwethaf sydd wedi eu golli. Bydd y gêm yn dod a dau o sgorwyr mwyaf rheolaidd UGC i wynebu eu gilydd gyda Jiws wedi sgorio 21 gôl a Martin Rose wedi canfod y rhwyd 20 gwaith. Pan fu’r ddau yn wynebu eu gilydd ym mis Tachwedd sgoriodd y ddau gôl yr un gan adael i ddwy gôl wych Steve Kehoe benderfynu’r canlyniad. Bydd angen canol bwyntio am 90 munud ddydd Sadwrn. gan dorri allan y camgymeriadau yn y cefn. er mwyn i’r blaenwyr gael y cyfle i sicrhau’r goliau sydd angen i ennill y tri phwynt. Ewch i i roi bet ar Port Talbot v Porthmadog. Porthmadog go into Saturday’s encounter with Port Talbot on the back of four straight defeats. But this is not a time to dwell on what has gone but rather concentrate on the next match and nothing further down the line. Maybe Porthmadog should take a leaf out of Wayne Phillips’ book and look on it as a Cup Final. It certainly seems to have worked for Wayne for since he announced that his club faced a series of Cup Finals he can’t stop winning! Saturday represents another difficult game for Porthmadog for they face a team who have recorded six victories on the road and drawing four times. Porthmadog will look for their inspiration to the excellent showing at Port Talbot when they ran out winners by 3-1 with the Steelmen’s manager Nigel Tucker being dismissed at the end of the game. However well Porthmadog play on Saturday it is highly unlikely that they can trigger the dismissal of Mark Jones who has revived the club since taking the hot seat. He has helped lift the South Wales club to 8th place in the table and they have only been beaten once in the last six games. The game brings together two of the top three strikers in the WPL with Jiws on 21 goals and Port Talbot marksman Martin Rose on 20. When the two clubs last met both netted once each and it was two super strikes by Steve Kehoe that separated the teams back in November. They must concentrate for the full 90 minutes and cut out the errors at the back so that the front men can get to work and provide the goals for victory. Visit to place a bet on Port Talbot v Porthmadog. 02/04/09 Tote Misol a’r Lotri Wythnosol / Monthly Tote and Weekly Draw Tynnwyd rhifau’r Tote Misol Clwb Cymdeithasol Pêl-droed Porthmadog ar gyfer mis Mawrth yn y Ganolfan ar nos Wener 27 Mawrth. Mae gan y Derwyddon bellach 31 pwynt sydd i bob pwrpas yn eu gwneud yn ddiogel. Penderfynodd Bangor, gyda Cwpan y Cynghrair ddydd Sul nesaf, adael Les Davies a Marc Limbert allan o’r tîm. A goal by Kevin Holsgrove, just after half-time, gave Druids a 1-0 victory over Bangor. This puts them on 31 points and probably means they are safe. Bangor, with the League Cup final coming up on Sunday, decided not to risk the Les Davies and Marc Limbert. 30/03/09 Y Deg Disglair: Oes yna ddewis arall? / Super 10: Is there an alternative? Nid yw’r ymatebion i arolwg gwefan welsh-premier.com i’r Super 10 yn dangos cefnogaeth frwd iawn o blaid gynlluniau Bwrdd y Gynghrair. Dyma farn un cefnogwr sydd yn cynnig dewis arall. “Mae’n rhaid bod yna amheuon mawr am allu’r ail adran i oroesi a, dros gyfnod o amser, bydd yr ail adran yn gwanio gyda rhai clybiau yn mynd i’r wal. Rhoddwyd rhy ychydig o sylw i gynlluniau eraill posib. Mae llawer o wledydd bychan, lle mae yna amrywiaeth eang yn safon y clybiau o fewn yr un gynghrair, wedi rhannu’r tymor yn ddau –split season Trwy rhannu’r tymor bydd yn bosib cynnwys fwy o glybiau yn yr un adran –i fyny at 16. Os cyflwynir y newidiadau yma yr un pryd a newid amseriad y tymor ...... darllenwch fwy Responses to the welsh-premier.com poll on the Super-10 proposals hardly represent an overwhelming show of support for the League Board’s plans. A fan here gives his alternative view. “There must be grave doubts about the viability of the second tier and over a period of time it will dwindle with some clubs undoubtedly going to the wall. Too little consideration has been given to possible alternatives. Many smaller countries, where clubs within the same league vary greatly in their relative strengths, have used a version of the split season. By having a split season it is possible to include more teams in the league –up to 16. If we combine these changes with a switch in the timing of the season ……… read more 30/03/09 Pwy sy’n chwarae pwy? / Who plays who? A hynny gan wybod fod y tîm o Sir Gar yng nghanol brwydr funud olaf i geisio dal eu gafael yn y teitl. Rhybuddiodd Peter Nicholas ei dîm, yn y Llanelli Star heddiw, mae dim ond buddugoliaeth wnaiff y tro yn erbyn Port ac ychwanegu at eu record diguro adref dros gyfnod o 16 mis. Nid yw Stebonheath y lle gorau i ymweld ar gefn rhediad o golli tair gêm yn olynol gyda’r olaf wedi’u hildio yn erbyn Caernarfon. Yr unig dameidiau o gysur i Port yw’r ffaith fod Marc Lloyd yn dal i sgorio –fo fu’n gyfrifol am 5 allan o chwe gôl ddiwethaf Port --, bod Chris Jones ar rhediad da a pan symudwyd Marcus Orlik i ganol y canol cae ddydd Sadwrn dangosodd efallai ei fod wedi canfod ei safle gorau wrth daro nifer fawr o beli ardderchog i’r blaenwyr. Ond mae gan Llanelli ddigonedd o chwaraewyr sy’n gallu ennill gêm, Rhys Griffiths a 97 gôl yn ei gyfnod gyda’r clwb, Andy Legg a’i dafliadau enfawr a’r chwaraewr ifanc Jordan Follows. Ond mae pêl-droed yn medru bod yn gêm rhyfedd a bydd rhaid i cefnogwyr Port ddal at yr atgof am berfformiad da, 3-3, ynghynt yn y tymor a’r fuddugoliaeth hollol annisgwyl yn Stebonheath y tymor diwethaf - hon oedd y gêm gynghrair ddiwethaf i Lanelli ei cholli gartref! Port hardly need anyone to tell them that they face a mammoth task on Sunday when they travel to Stebonheath to meet current champions Llanelli knowing that the Carmarthenshire club are in the midst of a desperate final challenge to retain their title. Peter Nicholas (in today’s Llanelli Star) has warned his team that only a win will do against Porthmadog and that they must extend their unbeaten 16 month home record. Stebonheath is definitely not the best place to be going on the back of three straight defeats especially after surrendering to troubled Caernarfon last Saturday. The crumbs of comfort are that Marc Lloyd Williams is still scoring -5 of the last 6 goals scored by Port –, that Chris Jones is in an excellent run of form and, when moved to central midfield in the closing stages last Saturday, Marcus Orlik looked to have found his niche striking some fine passes which we could have done with from the start. But Llanelli have plenty of match winners with Rhys Griffiths, now on 97 career goals for Llanelli, as well as Andy Legg with his massive throw-ins and also young rising star Jordan Follows. But football can be a strange game and Port supporters will have to take comfort from the 3-3 draw earlier in the season and also from last season’s shock win at Stebonheath - this was the last league match for Llanelli to lose at home! 25/03/09 Lansio Gwyl Roc i’w chynnal ar y Traeth / Launching a Rock Festival to be held on the Traeth. A Rock Festival will be held at Porthmadog FC’s ground, the Traeth on Saturday 2nd May.
