Barn Cefnogwr / Fan's View - Port v Newi Cefn Druids Saesneg / English Mae wythnos yn gwneud byd o wahaniaeth! A dyna ichi wahaniaeth sydd rhwng pen uchaf Uwch Gynghrair Cymru a’r gwaelod. Saith niwrnod ar ôl cael cweir gan y tîm sydd yn rhedeg i ffwrdd â’r gynghrair, dyma Port yn gwaredu peth o’u rhwystredigaeth drwy guro’r Derwyddon. Mwy boddhaol hyd yn oed na sgorio pum gôl, a gwneud i rai o atgofion yr wythnos cynt ddiflannu, oedd i Port rwystro’u gwrthwynebwyr rhag sgorio am y tro cyntaf y tymor hwn. Er tegwch, rhaid dweud nad oedd Cefn mor wael ag yr awgrymir gan y sgôr. Am y rhan helaethaf o’r hanner cyntaf roeddynt yn llwyddo i rwystro Port unwaith eto fel y gwnaethant mor aml yn y gorffennol. Cyfartal oedd y meddiant yn ystod yr hanner awr agoriadol gyda fawr i ddewis rhwng y ddau dîm. Ond y cyfan roedd gan yr ymwelwyr i ddangos am hyn oedd un peniad, a hwnnw yn methu’r targed. Tan yr oedd 41 munud wedi mynd roedd yna ddim i awgrymu’r cweir a oedd i ddilyn. Ond ar ôl methu sgorio am 310 o funudau, dyma Port yn llwyddo i sgorio tair mewn pum munud. Torrodd Caughter y garw gyda pheniad ar ôl 41 munud, gyda Cefn yn cyfrannu gôl, gan Gareth Roberts, trwy gôl eu hunain ar ôl 43’. Aeth gôl Lee Webber â’r gêm tu hwnt i afael Cefn gydag ergyd dros y golwr ar ôl ond munud o’r ail hanner. Nid oedd o gymorth, mae’n siwr, i Cefn orfod benthyg ail grysau Port! Penderfynodd y dyfarnwr ffwdanllyd Andy Richards fod stribyn bach du ar ochr crysau gwyn Cefn yn ei gwneud hi’n amhosibl i wahaniaethu rhyngddyn nhw â Port yn eu crysau coch a du! Er bod Port yn gwybod bod prawf llymach yn eu haros ddydd Sadwrn i lawr yn Port Talbot bydd y canlyniad hwn yn dipyn o hwb i wynebu’r sialens honno. Un ffaith a wnaiff fod yn gymorth i Port ydy fod Port Talbot, er yn chweched yn y tabl, wedi colli eu pedair gêm ddiwethaf. Ond ar y llaw arall, os sylwch ar eu gwrthwynebwyr yn y bedair gêm, mae’n rhoi persbectif gwahanol ar bethau. Ar ôl colli ddwywaith i Lanelli, sy’n rhuthro i fyny’r tabl, collwyd yn erbyn Y Trallwng a TNS mewn gêmau agos iawn. Saith niwrnod yn unig ar ôl curo Port 7-0 a phedwar diwrnod ar ôl curo Y Drenewydd o 5-2, llwyddodd TNS i ennill buddugoliaeth denau iawn o 1-0 yn erbyn Port Talbot, gyda’r gôl a benderfynodd y gêm yn dod ond chwe munud o’r diwedd. Iwan Gareth. Fan's View - Newi Cefn Druids v Port What a difference a week makes, eh? It just goes to show what a difference there is between top and bottom in the Welsh Premier. Seven days after being humbled at the hands of the league’s run-away leaders, Port took their frustrations out on bottom club Newi Cefn Druids. What was even more pleasing than scoring five goals to exorcise some of the memories of the previous week, was the fact that Port managed to keep their first clean-sheet of the season. To be fair, Newi weren’t as poor as the score suggests. For most of the first half it seemed that they would manage to frustrate Port again, as they have done so often in the past. The teams shared the possession for most of a very close opening half hour, but all the visitors had to show for it was one header off target. Up until the 41st minute there was no sign of the hiding that was on it’s way. However, after 310 minutes without a goal, Port scored 3 goals in 5 minutes of play. Caughter headed home to break the ice on 41 minutes, Newi then gifted Port the second with an own goal by Gareth Roberts on 43. Lee Webber then put the tie out of Newi’s reach with an on-the-volley lob to score in the opening minute of the second half. It can’t have helped Newi that they had to play wearing Port’s changed strip. The fussy ref Andy Richards deciding that a narrow black stripe on the side of Newi’s otherwise all-white shirts made it impossible to tell them apart from Port’s Black and Red shirts! Although Port know they face a far sterner test this Saturday down at Port Talbot, this emphatic result will surely be a boost for them going into the game. One point that may go in Port’s favour is that sixth place Port Talbot have lost the last four matches on the bounce. However, if you look at who they have lost against it puts a totally different perspective to it. Having lost twice against Llanelli who are storming up the table, they have then gone on to lose narrowly against Welshpool and TNS. Seven days after beating Port 7-0, and four days after beating Newtown 5-2, TNS could only manage a narrow 1-0 win against Port Talbot with the decisive goal 6 minutes from time. Iwan Gareth. |
