Barn Cefnogwr - TNS v Port / Fan's View - TNS v Port

Saesneg / English

Y tro diwethaf roedd Port ar y Dreflan, cymrodd hi chwe munud o amser ychwanegol i TNS sicrhau buddugoliaeth o ddwy gôl i un mewn gêm hynod o agos.

Ond y tro yma, sicrhawyd y fuddugoliaeth yn ystod chwe munud agoriadol y gêm! Dwy gôl i TNS yn y cyfnod hwn yn golygu bod y gêm drosodd i bob pwrpas fel cystadleuaeth.

Ond i ddweud y gwir mae’n well gen i golli o saith gôl na dioddef colli pwynt pwysig chwe munud cyfan i mewn i’r amser ychwanegol!

Rhaid canmol TNS - oherwydd wrth droi yn broffesiynol roedd pawb yn dweud mai dim ond un cynllun oedd ganddynt sef “route one”.

Ond yn y tymhorau diweddar, ers i Ken McKenna ddod ag Andy Cale i’r clwb fel hyfforddwr, gollyngwyd y math yna o chwarae ac maent i’w canmol am hyn.

Pan ddaw popeth at ei gilydd i’r tîm proffesiynol does dim modd eu rhwystro a dysgodd Port, sydd wedi perfformio yn dda iawn yn erbyn TNS yn ddiweddar, y wers hon ar ddiwrnod diflas o niwl ac eira yn y canolbarth.

Cafodd Port un cyfnod go lew ar ddechrau’r ail hanner ond diflannodd hyn wrth i Jiws sgorio y bumed gôl i TNS.

Ni ddangosodd cyn ffefryn y Traeth unrhyw drugaredd i’r clwb a adawodd ddeng mlynedd yn ôl i’r tymor hwn.

Anodd iawn ydy rhoi eich bys ar beth yn union aeth o'i le mor drychinebus.

Nid oedd Ryan Davies ar gael unwaith eto ond nid yw ei absenoldeb yn egluro pam ddilynodd y gêm gwrs mor wahanol i’r gêm gyfartal ar ddechrau’r tymor.

Un peth mae Port yn gweld ei eisiau yw dyn caled yng nghanol cae. Roedd Neil Thomas yr union ddyn i gyflawni’r rôl hon ac mae’n biti garw, felly, fod galwadau gwaith yn golygu nad oedd yn bosib’ iddo aros ar Y Traeth.

Yr unig beth a gafodd Port o’r gêm hon oedd record newydd –y nifer mwyaf o goliau yn eu herbyn mewn naw tymor o chwarae yn Uwch Gynghrair Cymru.

Nid oedd yn sioc fod rhediad Port o golli gêmau wedi’i ymestyn i bedair gêm ond ni fydd maint y golled yn fawr o baratoad ar gyfer ymweliad Derwyddon Cefn ddydd Sadwrn mewn gêm mae’n rhaid i Port ei hennill.

Er gwaethaf eu safle ar waelod y tabl, nid yw Cefn yn wrthwynebwyr hawdd ac maent wedi profi eu hunain, dros y blynyddoedd, yn dipyn o fwgan i Port.

Iwan Gareth.

Fan's View - TNS v Port

The last time Port were down at Treflan it took TNS six minutes of injury time to secure a narrow two-one win.

This time however the result was secured in the opening six minutes of the match! Two goals for TNS in this spell signalled the end of the game as a contest.

But I’ll tell you what – losing by seven goals definitely beats being denied a valuable point six minutes into injury time!

You’ve got to take your hat off to TNS. When they turned professional they were dismissed as a team that had only one game plan – route one.

In the last two or three seasons, since Ken McKenna drafted Andy Cale in as coach, this approach has been ditched, and they deserve credit for this.

When everything clicks for the professionals at TNS they are unstoppable and Port, after performing well in recent encounters against the Saints, saw this first hand on a miserable day in the mist and snow of mid Wales.

Port had one decent spell at the beginning of the second half, but this came to an end when Jiws converted TNS’ fifth.

The Port old boy showed no mercy as he completed a hat-trick against the club he left ten years ago this season.

It’s hard to put your finger on why exactly things went so terribly wrong.

Ryan Davies was again unavailable, but his absence doesn’t explain why the game took such a different course to the draw in the opening game of the season.

One thing I think Port miss is a hard man in mid-field. Neil Thomas was just the man to fill this role, so it’s a real shame for Port that work commitments have meant that it hasn’t been possible for him to remain at Y Traeth.

The only thing that Port gained from this match was the new record for their highest league defeat in nine seasons of Welsh Premier football!

It wasn’t really a surprise that Port’s string of defeats was extended to four games, but the size of the defeat won’t make for a good preparation before the must win game against Newi Cefn Druids on Saturday.

Despite their position right at the foot of the league, Newi are always a tricky side to play against and have always been a bit of a bogey side for Port.

Iwan Gareth.
