Mae’n bleser cyhoeddi fod Academi CPD Porthmadog wedi cychwyn ers tair wythnos gyda sesiynau hyfforddi ar gyfer carfannau Dan 12/14 a Dan 16. Rhaid imi gyhoeddi fy mod wedi cael fy nghalonogi gan y niferoedd, y safon a’r brwdfrydedd a ddangoswyd gan y rhai sydd wedi ymuno â’r academi.

Gwnaeth Stephen Paul Williams waith rhagorol yn yr academi dros y blynyddoedd diwethaf ond yn anffodus oherwydd galwadau gwaith nid yw’n gallu gwneud y swydd bellach. Gan fod meini prawf ar gyfer Trwyddedu Clybiau yn mynnu fod Cyfarwyddwr yr Academi wedi bod ar gwrs Trwydded ‘A’ UEFA ’rwyf wedi cytuno i gynorthwyo’r clwb gan fod neb lleol â’r cymhwyster.

Gobeithio fod hyn yn dangos fod ymrwymiad Viv a minnau i’r clwb yn gryfach nag erioed. Rhyngom, dros yr wythnosau diwethaf, ’rŷm wedi gweld yr Ail Dîm, y tîm Dan 21 a’r tîm Dan 18 yn chwarae a rydym yn asesu’r chwaraewyr sy’n datblygu yn barhaus. Yn wir mae sawl un o chwaraewyr yr Ail Dîm a’r tîm Ieuenctid yn ymarfer yn wythnosol gyda’r tîm cyntaf ac mae hyn yn dda i’r clwb. Mae’r ffaith fy mod i yn gysylltiedig â’r Academi yn rhoi mwy eto o wybodaeth inni am y chwaraewyr ifanc yn yr ardal.

Does dim llawer o glybiau yn Uwch Gynghrair Cymru, yn wir os oes o gwbl, yn gallu brolio fod ganddynt rheolwyr sydd yn dangos gymaint o ddiddordeb yn y chwaraewyr ifanc sy’n datblygu. Mae llawer o glybiau heb Ail Dîm heb sôn am Reolwr sydd yn dangos diddordeb yn yr Academi.

Os y gwyddoch chi am unrhyw dalent ifanc sydd yn awyddus i ymuno â’r Academi cysylltwch â Gerallt Owen ar 07920 025338

I am pleased to announce that the Porthmadog FC Academy kicked off three weeks ago with coaching sessions taking place for the Under 12/14 and Under 16 squads. I must state that I’ve been encouraged by the quantity, standard and the enthusiasm of the boys attending, in weather which has certainly been less than favourable. Until Christmas all age groups are training 7-8 pm on Monday evenings, although this will be altered as we bring the younger age groups in, in the New Year.

Stephen Paul Williams has done an excellent job over the last few years at the Academy but unfortunately, due to work commitments, he is unable to continue this year. UEFA criteria for Club Licensing also dictate that the Academy Director must have attended the UEFA ‘A’ Licence. Since we have no-one locally I have agreed to assist the club by Directing the Academy for the foreseeable future.

I hope this demonstrates that Viv’s commitment as well as mine, is stronger than ever. Over the last couple of weeks between us we have seen the Reserves, Under 21 and Under 18 teams play and we’re constantly assessing the players coming through. Indeed there are quite a few Reserve and Youth players training weekly with the first team at present, and this is also good for the club. The fact that I am now heavily involved with the Academy provides us with an even greater depth of knowledge of the younger players in the area.

Not many clubs in the Welsh Premier, if any, can boast that they have a Management Team which shows such an interest in the youth coming through. Some clubs don’t have a reserve side, let alone a manager who shows interest in the Academy.

If you know or hear of young talent who wish to attend the Academy please contact Gerallt Owen on 07920 025338
