20/10/03 Yr Eisteddle / The Stand Mae'r newidiadau i'r prif eisteddle bellach wedi eu cwblhau - sy'n golygu bod bellach 500 o seddi ar y Traeth. Bu oedi yn y gwaith oherwydd nad oedd y seddi oedd wedi cael eu harchebu ers ddechrau'r tymor wedi cyrraedd. Disgwylir y bydd placiau'r noddwyr yn cael eu gosod ar y seddi yn ystod yr wythnosau nesaf. The changes to the main stand have now been completed - which means that there are now 500 seats at the Traeth. The work had been delayed as the seats that had been ordered since the start of the season had not arrived. It is thought that the sponsors' plaques will be placed on the seats during the coming weeks. 14/10/03 Mike Foster, Dafydd Evans Mae disgwyl bydd Mike Foster a Dafydd Evans yn ymddangos heno i dim Porthmadog mewn gem ymarfer yn erbyn tîm ieuenctid y clwb ar ôl i'r ddau wella o'u hanafiadau. Y gobaith yw y byddant ar gael ar gyfer y gêm nos Wener yn erbyn Newi Cefn Druids. Mike Foster and Dafydd Evans are likely to appear tonight for a Porthmadog XI in a training match against the club's youth team after both have recovered from injuries. The hope is that they will be available for the game on Friday night against Newi Cefn Druids. 30/09/03 Academi Ieuenctid / Youth Academy. Mae'r paratoadau ar gyfer Academi Bel-droed Porthmadog yn mynd yn eu blaen. Bydd traealon ar gyfer mynediad i'r Academi yn cael eu cynnal ar Ddydd Sul, Hydref 29. Disgwylir datganiad pellach gan y clwb yn fuan. The preperations for the Porthmadog Football Academy are on going. Trials for entry into the Academy will take place on Sunday, October 29. A fuller statement will be issued shortly by the club. 27/09/03 Amser codi gem / Time to bounce back. Yn dilyn mis anodd iawn i Port, gyda tair gêm yn erbyn Bangor ac ymweliad i TNS, mae’n bryd i Port godi ei gêm a ceisio ail greu llwyddiant dechrau’r tymor. Mae’n debygol iawn y bydd Bangor a TNS yn gorffen y tymor yn y ddau safle uchaf, felly mae’n bwysig i Port beidio gadael i’r canlyniadau yma effeithio ar eu tymor. Er na fydd dau ymweliad i Newi Cefn Druids, a gêm yn erbyn Hwlffordd yn rhwydd, mae’n bwysig fod Port yn cymryd y cyfle i godi pwyntiau unwaith eto ar ôl pythefnos sydd wedi dangos pa mor anodd mae pethau’n gallu bod yn Uwch Gynghrair Cymru. Following a difficult month for Port, with three matches against Bangor and a visit to TNS, it’s time for Port to bounce back and recreate the success of the early season. It’s very likely that Bangor and TNS will finish the season in first and second place, so it’s imperative that Port don’t let these defeats have a negative effect on their season. Two visits to Newi Cefn Druids and a game against Haverfordwest won’t be easy, but it’s important that Port take the opportunity to pick up some points again after two weeks that have shown how hard it can sometimes be in the Welsh Premier. 26/09/03 Alan Morgan Mae'r chwaraewr canol cae Alan Morgan wedi gadael y clwb yn dilyn y gem yng nghwpan y gynghrair yn erbyn Bangor. Fe ddeilliodd nifer o goliau o'i groesiadau cywir ac o'i gipiau rhydd, ac fe fydd Port yn sicr yn methu hyn. The midfeilder Alan Morgan has left the club following the league cup game against Bangor. Many goals resulted from his accurate crosses and his free kicks, and Port will surely miss his contribution. 26/09/03 Gem wedi ei Gohirio / Game Cancellation Gohiriwyd gêm Port yn erbyn Drenewydd nos Fawrth yma yn dilyn marwolaeth Trevor Jones, aelod o fwrdd rheoli’r Drenewydd, mewn damwain car. Cynhelir yr angladd ar ddydd Mawrth. Nid oes dyddiad wedi ei bennu ar gyfer ail drefnu’r gêm. Port’s game against Newtown this Tuesday has been called off following the death of Newtown board member Trevor Jones in a car accident. The funeral will take place on Tuesday. No date has been fixed for the rearranged game. 17/09/03 Helynt Harvey - Y Diweddaraf / Harvey Affair - The Latest Bu tro annisgwyl arall yn helynt hir wyntog y golwr Richard Harvey yn ddiweddar. Chwaraeodd Harvey i bump clwb o ogledd Cymru, gan gynnwys Porthmadog, yn ystod cyfnod o 18 mis a hynny heb ganiatâd rhyngwladol. Cosbwyd Harvey a Loco Llanberis gan FA Cymru. Loco oedd y clwb cyntaf i'w arwyddo pan adawodd Lloegr i ail ymuno a phêl-droed Cymru dros ddwy flynedd yn ôl. Mae'r golwr ifanc talentog wedi cael ei ddirwyo £100 a wedi ei orchymyn i dalu costau comisiwn ymchwil yr FA, ac wedi ei wahardd am bum gem. Dirwywyd Llanberis, o'r Pentraeth Honda Welsh Alliance am £500, gyda'r £200 cyntaf i gael ei dalu o fewn 21 diwrnod tra fod y £300 sy'n weddill yn ohiriedig. Bydd Harvey yn apelio'n erbyn y penderfyniad. The long running saga of goalkeeper Richard Harvey took another twist recently. Harvey played for five north Wales clubs, including Porthmadog, during an 18 month period whilst not having international clearance. Harvey and Loco Llanberis have been carpeted by the Welsh FA. Loco were the first club to sign him after he left England to re-enter Welsh Football over two years ago. The talented young keeper has been fined £100 and ordered to pay the costs of the FA's commission of inquiry, and has been banned for five matches. Llanberis, of the Pentraeth Honda Welsh Alliance, have been fined £500, of which £200 has to be paid within 21 days and the balance of £300 is suspended. Harvey will appeal against the decision.[from the Caernarfon and Denbigh Herald] 15/09/03 Cwpan Cymru / Welsh Cup Tynnwyd yr enwau allan o'r het ar gyfer ail rownd Cwpan Cymru heddiw. A fel gyda Chwpan y Gynghrair Loosemores nid yw Port wedi derbyn llawer o lwc, gan eu bod i chwarae gwrthwynebwyr o'r Uwch Gynghrair mewn gem oddi cartref. Bydd Port felly yn wynebu taith draw i Cefn Mawr am gem yn erbyn Newi Derwyddon Cefn ar y 4ydd o Hydref. Hwn fydd y cyntaf o ddau ymweliad i gartref y clwb o ardal Wrecsam yn ystod y mis hwnnw. The names were drawn for the second round of the Welsh Cup today. And as with the Loosemores League Cup Port haven't received all the luck, as they will be up against opposition from the Welsh Premier away from home. Port will therefore face an away trip to Cefn Mawr for a match against Newi Cefn Druids on the 4th of October. This will be the first of two clashes with the club from the Wrexham area during that month. 4/09/03 Anaf Foster / Foster's Injury Nid yw'n ymddangos fod yr anaf i Mike Foster mor ddrwg ag yr oedd rhai wedi disgwyl ar ôl iddo ddod oddi ar y cae yn erbyn Lido Afan ddydd Sadwrn diwethaf. Ofnwyd i ddechrau ei fod wedi torri asgwrn yn ei droed, ond fel canlyniad i belydr-X gwelwyd mai wedi cleisio ei ligaments yn ddrwg ydoedd. Mae disgwyl y bydd allan am ychydig wythnosau o leiaf. It doesn't appear that the injury to Mike Foster is as bad as had first been thought after he was taken off the field against Afan Lido last Saturday. It was feared at first that he had broken a bone in his foot, but as the result of an x-ray it was found that he had suffered from badly bruised ligaments. It is expected he will be side-lined for at least a few weeks. 1/09/03 Canmoliaeth Lido / Lido's Praise Er gwaethaf i Port golli am y tro cyntaf y tymor hwn i lawr yn Afan Lido, roedd rheolwr y Lido, Mark Robinson, yn llawn canmoliaeth i’r newydd-ddyfodiaid yn y Western Mail: Despite Port losing for the first time this season down at Afan Lido, the Lido manager Mark Robinson, was full of praise to the newcomers in the Western Mail: “They are a very good side, the best we have faced this season, and I tip them for a top-eight finish, possibly even top six.” 27/8/03 Mis Medi = Bangor! / September = Bangor! Yn dilyn y fuddugoliaeth (2-0 dros ddau gymal) yn erbyn y Trallwng, fe fydd Port yn chwarae yn erbyn Bangor yn rownd nesaf Cwpan y Gynghrair. Cynhelir y gem gyntaf ar Fedi'r 3ydd ym Mangor. Golyga hyn y bydd Port yn gwynebu Bangor 3 gwaith yn ystod mis Medi gan fod y gem gynghrair ym Mangor i'w chynnal ar Fedi'r 27ain. Folowing the victory (2-0 over two legs) over Welshpool Town, Port will play Bangor in the next round of the League Cup. The 1st game will be played on September 3rd at Bangor. This means that Port will face Bangor 3 times in September as the league clas at Bangor is already arranged for September the 27th. 16/8/03 Y BBC'n dilyn Port / The BBC follow Port. Mae’r BBC mewn cydweithrediad a Port wedi creu gwefan sy’n dilyn Port trwy gydol y tymor. Bydd y wefan yn cael ei chynnal gan Gary Pritchard o’r BBC ac yn cynnwys adroddiadau o’r gemau a dyddiaduron o’r gemau gan y chwaraewyr, cefnogwyr a’r tîm rheoli a llawer iawn mwy. Cyfeiriad y wefan yw www.bbc.co.uk/cymru/chwaraeon/porthmadog. The BBC in cooperation with Port have created a website that will follow Port throughout the season. The website will be compiled by Gary Pritchard of the BBC and will include match reports and match diaries by players, supporters and the management team and much much more. The website’s address is www.bbc.co.uk/cymru/chwaraeon/porthmadog. 15/8/03 Y Cyfarwyddwyr / The Directors. Mewn cyfarfod neithiwr o gyfarwyddwyr Port apwyntiwyd dau aelod newydd i’r bwrdd, sef Nigel Shingler a Peter Bennet, a bydd Clive Hague hefyd yn dychwelwyd fel cyfarwyddwr. Diolchwyd i Bob Havelock am ei waith fel cadeirydd dros y blynyddoedd wrth iddo gamu i lawr o’r swydd, ond bydd yn parhau’n aelod o’r bwrdd. Apwyntiwyd Phil Jones yn olynydd i Bob, gyda Mici Plwm yn cael ei wneud yn is-gadeirydd. Mae Port wedi cael llawer o lwyddiant wrth ddenu noddwyr at y tymor newydd, gyda 51 o fyrddau hysbysebu o amgylch y cae ar hyn o bryd – ond cofiwch mae wastad lle i fwy o noddwyr! Mae’r rhaglen hefyd wedi cael ei ymestyn o 4 tudalen er mwyn gwneud lle i’r holl noddwyr. In a meeting of Port directors last night two new members were appointed to the board – Nigel Shingler and Peter Bennet, with Clive Hague also returning as a director. Bob Havelock was thanked for his work as chairman over the years as he stepped down from the post, but he will remain a member of the board. Phil Jones was appointed as his replacement, with Mici Plwm given the post of vice-chairman. Port have had considerable success in attracting sponsors for the new term, with 51 advertisement boards currently surrounding the ground – but remember there’s always room for more sponsors! The programme has also been extended by 4 pages to create room for all the sponsors. 02/8/03 David Farr. Bydd Port heb wasanaeth yr ymosodwr David Farr y tymor hwn wedi iddo benderfynu mynd i'r Brifysgol. Nid yw wedi chwarae unrhyw ran ym mharatoadau'r clwb am y tymor newydd oherwydd anaf. Port will be without the services of striker David Farr this term as he has decided to go to University. He has not played any part in the club's preparations for the coming season because of injury. 19/7/03 Cyfle i Noddi / Sponsoring Opportunities. Mae Port yn cynnig y cyfle i gefnogwyr i noddi gemau neu chwaraewr am y tymor sydd i ddod. Cost noddi gêm yw £35 yn unig, ac mae’n cynnwys mynediad am ddim i 2 o bobl i’r gêm, arlwyaeth hanner amser a hefyd cydnabyddiaeth amlwg o’r nawdd yn y rhaglen a hefyd dros y corn. Mae nifer o gemau eisoes wedi cael ei noddi, ond mae llawer o gemau yn dal ar gael, gan gynnwys gêm gartref gyntaf y tymor yng Nghwpan y Gynghrair yn erbyn Trallwng a’n gêm Gynghrair gyntaf yn erbyn Caerfyrddin. Cost noddi chwaraewr yw £30 yn unig, a bydd enw’r noddwr yn ymddangos wrth ymyl enw’r chwaraewr fydd yn cael ei noddi yn y rhaglen am y tymor cyfan. Os oes gennych ddiddordeb yn unrhyw un o’r uchod cysylltwch a Gerallt Owen ar 01766 512991 neu drwy e-bost i gerallt.owen@virgin.net Port are offering supporters an opportunity to Sponsor a match or a player for the coming season. Match sponsorship is only £35 and includes free entry for 2 people to the match, half-time refreshments as well as prominent acknowledgement of the sponsorship in the match programme and over the tannoy. If you are interested in either of the above contact Gerallt Owen on 01766 512991 or by e-mail on gerallt.owen@virgin.net 26/7/03 Gemau nos Wener / Friday night matches Mae'n bosib y bydd llawer o gemau Port sydd wedi eu trefnu ar nosweithiau Gwener yn cael eu symud i bnawn Sadwrn. Yn wreiddiol, roedd Port wedi gofyn i'r gynghriair i beidio trefnu unrhyw gemau cartref ar nosweithiau Gwener. Ond, oherwydd camddealltwriaeth, roedd John Deackin wedi meddwl fod Port eisio gymaint a phosib o gemau ar nos Wener! Bellach, mae Deakin wedi llythyru'r holl glybiau oedd i gwrdd a Port ar nos Wener, yn gofyn os ydynt yn barod i ystyried newid i'r pnawn Sadwrn. Bydd newyddion am unrhyw newid ar y safle hwn. It's posible that many of Port's matches scheduled for Friday evenings will be moved to Saturday aftrenoon. Originally, Port had asked the league not to arrange any of their home matches on Friday evenings. But, because of a misunderstanding, John Deakin had thought that Port had asked for as many games as possible on Friday night! Now, Deakin has lettered every club involved in Friday night encounters with Port, to ask them if they are prepaired to consider a switch to Saturday afternoon. News of any change to fixtures will appere here. 18/7/03 Marc Willaims Bydd Marc Williams oedd yn chwarae i'r Drenewydd y tymor diwethaf yn ymddangos i Port yn y gem gyfeillgar fory yn erbyn Bae Colwyn. Sgoriodd yr ymosodwr 7 gol yn Uwch Gynghrair Cymru y tymor diwethaf i'r clwb o'r canolbarth. Chwaraewr newydd arall fydd yn ymddangos i Port yn erbyn Bae Colwyn yw Alun Morgan. Marc Williams who played for Newtown last term will appear for Port in the friendly tomorrow against Colwyn Bay. The striker scored 7 goals last season for the mid Wales club. Another new player who will appear against Colwyn Bay is Alun Morgan. 12/7/03 Challon Lodge Croesawyd Challon Lodge i'r Traeth ar gyfer gem gyfeillgar gyntaf y tymor. Profodd yr ymwelwyr ei hunain yn dim cystadleuol a cafodd y newydd ddyfodiaid i Uwch Gyngrhair Cymru gem baratoad gwerth chweil. Challon Lodge agorodd a sgorio ar ol 24 munud pan manteisiwyd ar flerwch yn y cefn. Er hynny Port greodd y cyfleon gorau ac arbedwyd yr ymwelwyr gan ei golgeidwad ar nifer o achlysuron. Arbedodd yn dda a'i draed i rwystro Carl Owen a gwnaeth arbediad da arall i gadw allan ergyd Ritchie Owen.Ni ddaeth Port yn gyfartal tan oed 40 munud wedi mynd heibio. Manteisiodd Gareth Caughter ar bas dda John Gwynfor, gan droi yn dda yn y bocs a chodi'r bel i do'r rhwyd. Rheolodd y tim cartref yr ail hanner gyda Carl Owen a wedyn Gerallt Jones yn dod yn agos. Ar yr awr aeth Port ar y blaen diolch i rhediad da o'r hanner ffordd ac ergyd i'r rhwyd o 18 llath gan Carl Owen. Cynyddwyd y fantais ar ol 74 munud pan sgoriodd Dylan Jones. Cwbwlhawyd y sgorio dwy funud o'r diwedd pan ychwanegodd Rob Williams pedwerydd gol y tim cartref gan wneud y sgor terfynnol yn 4-1. Port entertained, St Helens side, Challon Lodge in the first of the pre-season matches. It proved to be an useful workout for the Welsh Premier newcomers as the visitors provided them with a competitive game. In fact Challon Lodge took the lead the lead after 24 mins when they took advantage of a defensive muddle. Port however dominated territorially and created the better chances with the visitors keeper being forced to make a series of good saves in the opening period. He saved well with his feet from Carl Owen and then turned a Ritchie Owen effort round the post.Port did not draw level until the 40th minute when Gareth Caughter turned on a John Gwynfor pass and lofted it into the roof of the net. The home side controlled the second period with Carl Owen and Gerallt Jones coming close. On the hour Carl Owen finished well from 18yds after a solo run from the half-way mark to put Port ahead.
