17/05/17 Edrych at y Tymor nesaf / Looking to next Season Erbyn hyn ry’m yn gwybod enwau’r 16 clwb fydd yn chwarae yng Nghynghrair Huws Gray y tymor nesaf. Bydd yna dipyn o newid gyda 5 o glybiau yn gadael yr HGA; y pencampwyr Prestatyn yn symud i’r Uwch Gynghrair a Llanfair, Y Wyddgrug, Conwy a Bwcle yn symud i’r cynghreiriau is. Bydd hyn yn gadael 11 o glybiau allan o 16 ac, yn ymuno a hwy, fydd y ddau glwb sydd wedi colli eu lle yn yr Uwch Gynghrair â tri o glybiau yn dod i fyny o’r cynghreiriau is. Bydd presenoldeb Rhyl ac Airbus yn cryfhau y gynghrair a’i gwneud, hyd yn oed, yn fwy cystadleuol ac hefyd yn helpu i godi safon y caeau a’r cyfleusterau. Ar ôl dim ond un tymor yng Nghynghrair y Canolbarth bydd Rhaeadr yn ôl wedi pasio’r ymchwiliad i’w cyfleusterau ar yr ail gynnig. Gyda Glantraeth yn gwrthod y cyfle am ddyrchafiad bydd Cyffordd Llandudno yn ennill lle yn yr HGA. Bydd FC Queen’s Park, o gynghrair ardal Wrecsam, yn gadael eu cae presennol, sef Y Queensway, ac yn symud i rannu Parc Stansty (cyn gae ymarfer Wrecsam) gyda Lex Glyndwr. Y tro diwethaf i Port chwarae ar y cae hwn oedd yn ôl yn 2002 ar 28 Medi yn erbyn Lex X1. The make-up of the 2017/18 Huws Gray Alliance is now clear. There will be a considerable turnover of clubs this season with five clubs moving out of the HGA; the champions Prestatyn, promoted to the WPL and Llanfair Utd, Mold Alex, Conwy Borough and Buckley dropping down to their respective feeder leagues. This leaves 11 of last season’s 16 clubs and they will be joined by two demoted WPL clubs and three from the feeder leagues. The presence of Rhyl FC and Airbus UK will strengthen the league and make it even more competitive and will also have a welcome positive impact on ground facilities within the league. After just one season in the Mid-Wales League, Rhayader Town return reaching the necessary criteria after a 2nd inspection. With Glantraeth not taking up their promotion opportunity, 2nd placed Llandudno Junction are promoted. FC Queen’s Park, from the Wrexham area league, will vacate their current ground at Queensway and share Stansty Park (former Wrexham training ground) with Lex Glyndwr FC. The last time Port played at this ground was back on the 28th September 2002 against the then Lex X1. 16/05/17 Penderfyniad Glantraeth / Glantraeth’s decision Gyda’r cyhoeddiad neithiwr, gan CPD Glantraeth i beidio cymryd eu lle yn yr HGA y tymor nesaf, mae’n ymddangos fod y darn olaf o jig-so’r symudiadau i fyny ac i lawr bellach mewn lle. Mewn datganiad ar eu gwefan www.glantraeth.com mae clwb yr Ynys yn cyferio at y newidiadau sydd i ddod i griteria’r HGA fel y rheswm am eu pernderfyniad. Yn ôl y clwb byddai adeiladu eisteddle i 250 mewn dwy flynedd yn amhosib ar gae sydd mewn perchnogaeth breifat. Felly byddent yn wynebu cael ei gorfodi i fynd yn ôl lawr i’r Welsh Alliance, a hynny beth bynnag eu safle terfynol yn y gynghrair. Bydd y penderfyniad yma yn agor y drws i glwb Cyffordd Llandudno – 2ail yn y Welsh Alliance- sydd eisoes wedi cyrraedd y gofynion presennol am ddyrchafiad. With last night’s announcement that Glantraeth FC will not take up their place in the HGA next season it seems that the final piece of the promotion/relegation jig-saw has been decided. In a statement on their website www.glantraethfc.com/ the Anglesey club state that “... the huge changes to the criteria for membership of the Huws Gray Alliance that have been introduced” as the reason behind their decision to remain in the Welsh Alliance. They add.. “A 250 seater stand as required within two years is simply not possible on our privately owned ground ... we would be relegated back to the Welsh Alliance no matter what our league position due to not meeting the ground criteria.” The decision now leaves the door open for Welsh Alliance 2nd placed club Llandudno Junction to join the HGA. Junction have already passed the current ground criteria. 12/05/17 Gwaith ar y Traeth / Work on Pitch Mae gan Y Traeth enw da iawn am y math o wyneb sy’n rhoi pob cyfle i chwaraewyr pêl-droed ddangos eu sgiliau. Yma ceir cae gwair traddodiadol, a hynny mewn cyfnod lle mae clybiau yn cael eu hannog i fuddsoddi mewn caeau artiffisial. Mae’r clwb yn awyddus i weld safonau uchel yn cael eu cadw ac yn gwario £6,000 ar y cae dros yr haf. Ar hyn o bryd mae’r cae yn cael ei ail-hadu ac roedd y cadeirydd Phil Jones yn ddyn hapus yn croesawu’r glaw a ddaeth neithiwr a heddiw! Ychwanegwyd 80 tunnell o bridd ar wyneb y cae er mwyn llenwi tyllau a lefeli unrhyw bantiau. Hefyd bydd proses o ferti-draenio yn cymryd lle, yn torri lawr drwy wyneb y cae er mwyn gadael i’r cae anadlu ac felly rhwystro’r pridd rhag cael ei gywasgu. Rhaid canmol y Bwrdd am wneud y buddsoddiad gan fod sicrhau safon y cae yn angenrheidiol er mwyn codi safonau chwarae. The Traeth has a deserved reputation as one of the finest playing surfaces around. It provides a top class grass surface in an era where clubs are encouraged to invest in artificial surfaces. The club have moved to ensure that the pitch is maintained at its best standard and a sum of £6,000 pounds is being invested with work proceeding at the moment to re-seed the pitch. Club chairman Phil Jones was a relieved man today welcoming the rain which has fallen last night and today. 80 tons of topsoil is being added which will fill divots and level out the surface and a process of verti-draining will take place to allow air into the pitch and avoid the danger of compaction. It is good to report the club’s actions as a quality playing surface is essential to raising playing standards. 11/05/17 Cysylltu gyda Colin Dukes / Contacting Colin Dukes Os byddwch angen cysylltu â Colin Dukes, Gweinyddwr yr Academi, ynglyn â’r Treialon dydd Sul nesaf 14 Mai sylwch y newid yn ei gyfeiriad e-bost. Pan ddoes i’r swydd yma roedd gennyf un uchelgais, a hynny oedd pontio’r gagendor rhwng pêl-droed academi a phêl-droed y tîm cyntaf. Gallaf eich sicrhau fod y llwybr sy’n arwain o’r academy i’r tîm cyntaf bellach yn gryfach nac erioed. Bu’n bleser gweld rhai fel Rhys Hughes a Gwion John yn cael y cyfle gyda’r tîm cyntaf a mae hynny yn glod mawr i Craig a’i staff. Er hynny, mae’n rhaid nodi fod y tymor wedi bod yn un anodd iawn ar y cae. Cymrais y cyfle ar ddechrau’r tymor i ymuno â’r Uwch Gynghrair Ddatblygol ac roeddwn yn sylweddoli byddai hyn yn gofyn llawer o’r hogiau. Mae eu gwaith caled, disgyblaeth a chymeriad yn ennill fy edmygedd dibendraw. Aethant o golli 11-0 ar ddiwrnod cyntaf y tymor i fuddugoliaeth 1-0 ar y diwrnod olaf gan danlinellu cymaint maent wedi dysgu. Er roedd yn siom inni golli ein lle yn y gynghrair at y tymor nesaf, byddwn yn gweithio rwan i sicrhau lle mewn cynghrair lle bydd y bechgyn yn parhau gyda’i datblygiad, a lle medrwn ddyrchafu grwp arall o chwaraewyr Dan 16. Wrth gloi, carwn sicrhau cefnogwyr mai dim ond y dechrau i ddyfodol cyffrous yn yr academi ydy hwn ac rwy’n hyderus y medrwn ddal i dyfu ar ac oddi ar y cae yn ystod y tymor nesaf. Mwynhewch yr haf! C’mon Port! It'd be easy to think that it's been a disappointing year for my 19's, although I can assure you it's been far from it. When I came to the role, I had one ambition in my first year, which was to bridge the gap between academy football and the first team. I can guarantee that the pathway from the academy to the first team is now stronger than ever. It's been a pleasure to watch the likes of Rhys Hughes and Gwion John having an opportunity with the first team and that's huge credit to Craig and the first team staff. However, it must be noted that the team has endured a hard season on the field. I took the opportunity at the start of the season to enter the Welsh Premier Development League (19s), which I knew was going to be a tough ask of my boys. My admiration for their hard work, discipline and character is unlimited. To go from losing 11-0 on the first day of the season to winning 1-0 on the last day highlights the learning curve that they've been on. Although disappointing to lose our place in the league for next year, we are working hard behind the scenes to secure our place in the right league for the boys to be able to continue their development, while also promoting another set of U16s to the squad. Finally, I would like to assure fans that this is only the start of an exciting future at the academy and am confident that we can continue to grow on and off the field next season. Have a great Summer! C’mon Port! 25/04/17 Craig yn Bwrw Golwg dros y Tymor / A Progress Report from Craig Dyma Craig Papirnyk yn bwrw golwg yn ôl ac yn pwyso a mesur datblygiad y clwb dros y 12 mis diwethaf. Yn ogystal â gorffen yn 4ydd safle, sydd yn gryn welliant ar dymor 2015/16, mae’n gweld nifer o feysydd lle mae camau mawr yn cael eu cymryd gyda datblygiadau oddi ar y cae yn strwythyrau’r clwb, yn yr Academi ac yn arbennig presenoldeb y clwb yn y gymuned drwy waith arloesol Gethin Jones. Mae Craig yn cydnabod fod angen i’r tîm fod yn fwy cyson er mwyn cystadlu gyda’r goreuon yn yr HGA ond dyna’r sialens at dymor 2017/18. Mae’r clwb mewn lle da gyda dau hyfforddwr, Guy a Ioan, sydd yn meddu ar Trwydded ‘A’ yn maes hyfforddi. Edrych ymlaen mae Craig i gryfhau’r clwb a’r garfan. Here at the end of season 2016/17 we have Craig Papirnyk’s progress report: “Now that the season has come to an end I thought best to say some words regarding my thoughts and going forward etc. “It has been another season that has flown by, it is now the time that we reflect and look back at what we have learnt and for me it is all about remaining positive and looking forward. “This season has of course been frustrating at times, however finishing 4th is a massive improvement on last season. I set my standards extremely high and I believe that we should be competing for the top 2 positions every season, so in essence we have under achieved but that is not to say we lack ambition. The club off the field is taking large steps in improving it’s infrastructure, the academy is growing stronger and stronger, the new skills centre is being well used and the club house is continually being hired out. The small committee and volunteers are working hard to ensure that the club is being run to its best potential which then will allow for the running of the teams to be more efficient. “Gethin Jones working within the community is making massive strides for the club and promoting it around the area. Gethin has been doing a tremendous job, using the facilities we have to educate the next generation by using football as an educational experience, he is growing from strength to strength. “Recently we had Osian Roberts down to officially open the Skills Centre, he was very impressed with how much the club was improving and I think it is important that everyone knows the club are doing everything they can to improve it’s status. We are getting bigger and bigger and I particularly took a lot from chatting to Osh about his time with Viv at the club, using local young players to get the club back to successful times and I feel we are in a similar situation with our current squad. “Looking back over the season we have not been consistent enough, we have dropped far too many points at home but our away form has been great. Looking at the positives we can improve our home form and had we turned losses to wins we would’ve been a lot closer to Prestatyn than the league suggests. But hindsight is a wonderful thing and we must now look forward, improve on what we have, which is very exciting. “Looking at the club you would have to be a fool not to see that it is moving in the right direction, we have two UEFA ‘A’ licenced coaches in Guy and Ioan, myself working towards that achievement, the infrastructure as I’ve mentioned is strong and improving so I would say the club is in a very good place right now. The Domestic Licence is a must this season which will prove we are ready to take that leap back to the WPL. “It is my job now to improve the quality we already have, I do feel I have done this every season and the lads we have are only getting stronger. Port is still a big club in this league and looking ahead is exciting for me and so should it be for all of our followers who again have been fantastic this season. Our attendances are up and that is credit to you all for getting behind us and supporting us week in week out. “Time to look forward now, keep improving on and off the field to ensure this club gets back to where it belongs, competing at the highest level in Wales!!” COME ON PORT ! 25/04/17 CYSTADLEUAETH PÊL-DROED AR Y TRAETH / FUN FOOTBALL COMPETITION AT THE TRAETH DYDD LLUN GWYL BANC 1af o Fai cynhelir Cystadleuaeth Pêl-droed yn y Traeth ar gyfer timau o dan 8 a 10 oed, rhwng 10 y bore a 4 y prynhawn.
