Mae ifan wedi cael cychwyn arbennig i’r tymor wedi bod yn chwaraewr allweddol yn y 3 gêm gynghrair a chwaraewyd hyd yma y tymor hwn. Coronodd berfformiad gwych yn Penrhyncoch gyda gôl hwyr a seliodd y fuddugoliaeth. Port midfielder Ifan Emlyn has been named in the JD Cymru Leagues team of the week for 12/08/22 to 14/08/22. Ifan has had a great start to the season featuring prominently in the 3 league fixtures played to date. He capped a great performance at Penrhyncoch with a late goal to seal an impressive victory with a late goal. 19/08/22 Croeso Gethin / Welcome to the Traeth Gethin Gyda’r ffenest drosglwyddo yn cau ar ddiwedd y mis, mae Craig Papirnyk wedi cyhoeddi fod Gethin Willimas wedi ymuno â’r clwb. Bu Gethin yn Academi Dinas Bangor ac, yn 16 oed, cyfranodd at lwyddiant Carfan Ddatblygol Bangor yn ennill Cynghrair Datblygol Cymru. Ymunodd eto gyda prif garfan Bangor pan oedd yr Archentwr Hugo Colace yn rheoli’r clwb. Croeso i’r Traeth Geth. The transfer window will be closing at the end of the month so Craig Papirnyk has stepped in and announced the signing of Gethin Williams. Gethin is a Bangor City Academy product and at the age of 16 he was part of the successful Bangor Development squad that won the Welsh Premier Development League. He late re-joined Bangor as a senior player under Argentinian manager Hugo Colace. Welcome to the Traeth Geth. 18/08/22 Rhagolwg / Preview: Bae COLWYN Bay V Port Sat /Sad 2.30pm Y Sadwrn diwetha’ roedd Treflyn yn adrodd am gêm a chwaraewyd mewn tywydd trofannol, tra 10 diwrnod yng nghynt noson o wynt a glaw dychrynllyd oedd hi ar Y Traeth. Beth tybed ydy’r rhagolygon at y Sadwrn nesa’ pan fydd Port yn teithio i Ffordd Llanelian (LL29 8UN) i chwarae Bae Colwyn? Er fod y tywydd yn anwadal, un peth sicr ydy fod gêm anodd yn wynebu carfan Craig Papirnyk pan fyddant yn cyfarfod tîm Steve Evans. Daw Y Bae i’r gem hon ar gefn buddugoliaeth o 6-1 oddi cartref yn Nhreffynnon, clwb a orffennodd yn y 4ydd safle y tymor diwethaf. Rhwydodd James Kirby, blaenwr profiadol y Bae, ddwywairh iddynt, a bydd yn bendant yn un i gadw llygad arno. Chwaraewyd gêm Treffynnon o flaen torf o 870. Er yn dal i setlo fewn ar lefel uwch, cafodd Port hefyd fuddugoliaeth dda iawn ar y ffordd. Ond pnawn Sadwrn fydd y prawf mwya’ hyd yma ond hefyd yn gêm i bawb edrych ymlaen ati, rhwng dau glwb blaengar sy’n cael cefnogaeth dda. Bydd yn sialens gall Callum Parry a Rhys Alun groesawu, dau flaenwr sydd eisoes yn canfod y rhwyd ar y lefel uwch, ac hefyd i’r garfan gyfan. Bydd yn sialens fawr i amddiffyn a gadwodd lechen lân yn Penrhyncoch â llongyfarchiadau i Iddon Price (llun) yn cael ei enwi yn chwaraewr y gêm gan Radio Aber. Gêm Fawr. C’mon Port!! Last Saturday Treflyn’s opening remarks were “.... supporters witnessed a match...... in tropical conditions” while, 10 days earlier, it was a case of “.... a night of high winds and driving rain.” What can we expect this coming Saturday when Port travel to Llanelian Road (LL29 8UN) to take on Colwyn Bay? . The weather may be unpredictable but what is eminently predictable is that it will be a very tough game for Craig Papirnyk’s squad as they take on rivals managed by Steve Evans. . The Bay come into this game on the back of a 6-1 away triumph at Holywell, a club that finished last season in 4th spot in the Cymru North. The Bay’s experienced striker James Kirby netted two of these goals and will no doubt be one to watch. The Holywell game was played in front of an 870 crowd. . But Port, despite having to find their feet at a higher level, also recorded an excellent victory on the road. This, however, will be their toughest test so far but also an exciting prospect when two progressive, well supported clubs go head to head in a clash for supporters to savour. It will also be one to savour for Port’s strike force of Callum Parry and Rhys Alun who are already finding the net at a higher level and indeed for the whole squad. This will be a big challenge for a Port defensive formation that kept a clean sheet at Penrhyncoch, with Iddon Price (inset) named MoM by Radio Aber for the game. Big Game C’mob Port!!. 15/08/22 JD Cymru North: 12/13 Awst/ August Ar ddiwedd y trydydd cyfres o gemau, Bwcle ydy’r unig glwb efo record cant y cant. Bydd Port yn hapus efo eu hail 3 phwynt ar y ffordd, gyda 3 gôl a llechen lân yn sicrhau y 3ydd safle yn y tabl. Dyddiau cynnar ond cychwyn boddhaol iawn. Y canlyniad mwyaf arwyddocaol oedd y fuddugoliaeth o 6-1 oddi cartref I Fae Colwyn yn Treffynnon, ac o ystyried y gwrthwynebwyr gallai fod, er mor gynna,r yn arwydd ar gyfer y râs am dyrchafiad eleni. Roedd yna fuddugolaethau da hefyd i Brestatyn yn Cegidfa a’r Wyddgrug yn Gresford. Ennillwyr eraill oedd Derwyddon Cefn, Llandudno a Llanidloes yn cael eu pwyntiau cynta’. . Matchday 3 ended with only one 100% record. Buckley Town who notched their third win at Ruthin Town. Port will be pleased with a 2nd three points on the road and 3 goals and a clean sheet means they are in 3rd spot in the table. Early days but a more than satisfactory start. The most significant result was a 6-1 away win for Colwyn Bay at Holywell which, considering the strength of the opposition, must, even at this stage, be a promotion pointer. There was a good win for Prestatyn at Guilsfield and Mold at Gresford. Other winners were Cefn Druids, Llandudno, and for Llanidloes getting their season off the mark at Chirk. 11/08/22 Penrhyncoch v Port Sad / Sat 13 /08/22 2.30pm Cae Baker, Penrhycoch (SY23 3EH) bydd lleoliad gêm Port pnawn Sadwrn. Hon fydd y gynta' o ddwy gêm yn olynol ar y ffordd, gyda’r unig gêm ar Y Traeth y mis yma yn dod ar Awst 26 pan fydd y Wyddgrug yma. Yn dilyn y golled hwyr, hwyr i Gresffordd rhaid i Port aros 10 ddiwrnod cyn dychwelyd i’r cae sydd yn sefyllfa bell o fod yn ddelfrydol yr amser yma o’r tymor. Er waetha’r siom o golli adra roedd yna ddigon i blesio Craig Papirnyk mewn gêm a chwaraewyd mewn tywydd ofnadwy. Roedd perfformiadau tri o’r newydd ddyfodiaid yn galonogol iawn; Morgan Jones (llun) yn cael gêm arbennig yn y gôl, gyda Harri Hughes ar yr ochr chwith a Nathan Williams yng nghanol yr amddiffyn hefyd yn dal y llygad. Dydy Cae Baker byth yn lle hawdd, a bellach mae Gari Lewis yn ôl yn rheolwr. Yn eu hunig gêm gynghrair hyd yma cafodd Penrhyncoch gwell lwc na Port yn erbyn Gresffordd, yn cael y gorau ohoni mewn buddugoliaeth o 1-0. Cafodd eu gêm gynghrair arall yn Bae Colwyn ei hail drefnu i fis Tachwedd gan osgoi siwrnai o 170 milltir bob ffordd yng nghanol wythnos! Gyda Penrhyncoch hefyd allan o Gwpan Nathaniel MG, yn colli 0-2 i Bwcle, bydd y ddau glwb yn awyddus i gychwyn ar rhediad cyson o gemau cynghrair. C’mon Port!! On Saturday Port will be away to Penrhyncoch (SY23 3EH) at Cae Baker. This is the first of consecutive games on the road, with the only other home August fixture scheduled to be the visit of Mold Alex to the Traeth on 26th August. Following their added time loss to Gresford, Port have had to wait 10 days to get back in action which, at this stage of the season, is hardly ideal. Despite the disappointment there were pluses to be taken from an exciting encounter played in some very wild weather. Craig Papirnyk will be pleased with the form shown on the night by 3 of his summer signings; Morgan Jones (inset) putting in a great performance in goal while Harri Hughes, on the left side, and Nathan Williams in central defence also catching the eye with their contributions. A visit to Cae Baker is never easy and the Roosters now have Gari Lewis back as manager. Their only league fixture was also a visit from Gresford, with the mid-Wales club coming out on top in another 1-0 result. Their other scheduled league fixture against Colwyn Bay has been switched to a date in November which means that the Roosters avoided an 170 mile round trip in midweek. With Penrhyncoch also out of the Nathaniel MG Cup, going down 0-2 at home to Buckley, both teams will be keen to get back to league action and a consistent run of games. C’mon Port!! 10/08/22 Cofio Awst 15 1992 / Remembering August 15th 1992 Diolch i Dylan Ellis am gyfraniad diddorol ar y Trydar yn tynnu ein sylw at ddathlu 30 o flynyddoedd ers gem agoriadol Cynghrair Konica Cymru gyda Port yn un o aelodau gwreiddiol y gynghrair genedlaethol ar 15fedAwst 1992. Roedd y gêm rhwng Port a Llanelli ar Y Traeth. Llanelli wnaeth ennill 2-1 gyda Joe Gaffey yn rhwydo gôl Port ar y diwrnod cynta’ hwnnw. Roedd gan Dylan ei hun hefyd gyfraniad pwysig i’r cyfnod, fel Golygydd y Rhaglen. Isod gweler y garfan ar y dydd ac mae’n cynnwys rhai o enwau mawr y clwb. Y rheolwr yn 1992/93 oedd Meilir Owen a fu yn rheolwr am y ddau tymor cynta’. Gorffen yn 9fed wnaeth Port yn 1992/93. Stephen Owen (gk), Gareth Jones, Steve Smith, Dewi Rowlands, Colin Saynor, Aled Owen, Joe Gaffey, Geraint Jones, Allan Jones, Nigel Smith, Gary Emberton. Eilyddion / Subs: Selwyn Jones, Mark Bennett. Thanks to Dylan Ellis for an interesting Twtter contribution drawing attention to 30th anniversary of Port’s opening game as founder members of the Konica League of Wales on 15th August 1992. The game was against Llanelli and played at the Traeth. It resulted in a 2-1 victory for Llanelli. Port’s opening day scorer was Joe Gaffey. Dylan was heavily involved on that day as the Matchday Programme editor. Above can be seen the squad for the game and it contains some great names from the club’s history. The club in 1992/93 were managed by Meilir Owen who served during the first two seasons of the new national league and Port finished in 9th place in a 20 club league. 05/08/22 RHYS & CALLUM: yn teithio i Iwerddon / off to Ireland CANLYNIAD: IWERDDON 2-1 CYMRU NORTH Chwaraeodd Callum Parry y gêm gyfan a fuodd yn anlwcus i weld ergyd ganddo yn taro’s postyn yn yr hanner cynta’. Daeth Rhys Alun o’r fainc ar 56 munud. Does dim gêm i Port y penwythnos hwn ond bydd dau o’r garfan ddim yn cael cyfle i segura. Mae’r ddau flaenwr Callum Parry a Rhys Alun wedi’u dewis i fod yn rhan o garfan y Cymru Leagues a fydd yn teithio i chwarae yn yr Iwerddon y penwythnos yma. Llongyfarchiadau i’r ddau am sicrhau profiad diddorol a gwerth chweil. Mae’r ddau yn sgorwyr rheolaidd: Rhys, gyda 23 gôl, oedd prif sgoriwr Port y tymor diwetha tra roedd Callum yn rhwydo 26 gôl i Llanrwst ac yn barod mae wedi rhwydo ddwywaith yn ei 3 gêm dros Port. Bydd y gêm rhwng y ddwy garfan yn un gyfeillgar i baratoi at Gwpan Rhanbarthau UEFA ac yn cael ei chwarae yn Stadiwm Turners Cross, sef cartre’ clwb Cork City. Y Cymru North fydd yn cynrychioli Cymru yn y tournament go-iawn ym mis Hydref gan chwarae yn Grwp 4 gyda Sweden , Y Weriniaeth Czech a Gogledd Iwerddon (Gogledd Iwerddon fydd y lleoliad ar gyfer y gemau) RESULT: IRELAND 2-1 CYMRU NORTH Callum Parry played the full 90 mins and was unlucky to see a first half shot strike the post. Rhys Alun came on after 56 mins. No game for Port this weekend but two members of the squad will see action. Forwards Callum Parry and Rhys Alun, who have both been selected as members of the Cymru Leagues squad, will be travelling this weekend to play in Ireland. Congratulations to both players on gaining what will be an interesting and worthwhile experience. Both are proven goal scorers: Rhys was Port’s top scorer last season with 23 goals, while Callum netted 26 for Llanrwst and has already found the net twice since joining Port. The game between the two squads is an UEFA Regions Cup Friendly and will be played at the all-seater Turners Cross Stadium, the home of Cork City FC The Cymru North will be representing Wales in the tournament proper in October. Wales will be in Group 4 with Sweden, Czech Republic and Northern Ireland (who will host the games) 03/08/22 GEMAU Nos FAWRTH / MIDWEEK MATCHES Roedd nos Fercher yn noson brysur gyda 7 o gemau ymlaen. Un nodwedd o’r gemau yma oedd fod gymaint ohonynt yn rhai agos iawn, Y gemau yng Nghaergybi a’r Waun, yn erbyn Conwy a Chegidfa, yn gorffen yn gyfartal 1-1. Canlyniad da i’r Waun sydd newydd cael eu dyrchafu, a hynny yn erbyn un o’r clybiau allai ennill ddyrchafiad. Roedd y gemau yn Port, Prestatyn a Rhuthun a un gôl yn unig yn eu gwahanu oddi wrth yr enillwyr Gresffordd, Bwcle a Derwyddon Cefn. Y tri cartref yno yn colli. 5 gem felly a 5 canlyniad agos yn argoeli am dymor o frwydro dygn gyda ‘chydig iawn yn gwahanu’r timau. Yr eithriadau oedd Llandudno a’r Wyddgrug, gyda’ un o’r ffefrynnau am y teitl, Llandudno, yn curo Treffynnon o 3-0 tra roedd 4 gôl yn gwahanu’r Wyddgrug a Llanidloes. Y Wyddgrug yn gwneud yn iawn am golli o’r union sgôr pnawn Sadwrn. Tuesday night was a busy night of fixtures with 7 games being played. One feature of these games is that so many of them were really close affairs. The games at Holyhead and Chirk were level at 1-1 against Conwy Borough and Guilsfield respectively. That was an excellent point for promoted Chirk AAA against serious promotion candidates. The games at Port, Prestatyn and Ruthin ended in odd goal defeats for the home teams against Gresford, Buckley and Cefn Druids respectively. Five games, five close results would suggest that the season is going to be a bit of a slog with so little to separate the teams. Llandudno and Mold Alex were the exceptions, with promotion favourites Llandudno beating Holywell by three clear goals, while last Saturday’s 4-0 losers Mold Alex became 4-0 winners at home over Llanidloes. 01/08/22 Cai yn ôl yn y gorlan / Cai back in the fold Roedd Craig Papirnyk yn hapus iawn I gyhoeddi heno fod Cai Jones yn ôl ar Y Traeth gan gymryd y llwybr cyfarwydd sy’n cysylltu’r Traeth gyda’r Oval. Yn hogyn lleol nid oes angen ei gyflwyno i ffyddloniaid Y Traeth, erbyn hyn yn flaenwr profiadol gyda llwyth o gemau Cymru Premier yn rhan o’r CV. Bydd yn ychwanegiad gwerthchweil i garfan sydd yn dod i delerau gyda ail sefydlu ei hun yn y Cymru North. Craig Papirnyk was pleased to announce tonight that Cai Jones is back at the Traeth. He takes the well-trodden return path from the Oval to the Traeth. The local boy needs no introduction to the Traeth faithful, now an experienced forward with a large number of Cymru Premier appearances under his belt, he will provide a huge boost to the squad as the club gets to grip with re-establishing itself in the Cymru North. 31/07/22 Port yn ôl ar Y Traeth / Port v Gresford at the Traeth: Nos Fawrth / Tuesday 8pm Bydd Port yn croesawu Gresffordd I’r Traeth ar gyfer gêm gartref gynta’r tymor nos Fawrth gyda’r gic gynta’ am 8 o’r gloch Bydd Port yn mynd i’r gem hon ag agwedd tipyn gwahanol yn dilyn y perfformiad ail hanner yn Llanidloes, yn brwydro nol i sicrhau’r 3 phwynt mewn diweddglo dramatig. Nid yw ail addasu i lefel uwch ar ôl dyrchafiad yn fater hawdd, a bydd rhaid i’r broses barhau ar y Traeth nos Fawrth. Bydd y goliau gan ddau chwaraewr newydd, Alex Boss a Callum Parry yn siwr o blesio Craig Ppairnyk, a hefyd gweld Rhys Alun yn canfod y rhwyd eto yn syth. Cychwynodd Gresffordd y tymor drwy golli 1-0 yn erbyn Penrhyncoch ond maent drwodd i Rownd 2 Cwpan Nathaniel MG yn curo’r ‘cerdyn gwyllt’, Dinbych o 1-0. Wrth fynd i’r gem nesa’ hon bydd gan Port deimlad o fusnes i’w orffen gan y tro diwetha’ i’r ddau gyfarfod ‘nol 2019 yn Clappers Lane. Collodd Port o 7-1. Dim eto os gwelwch yn dda!! C’mon Port! Port will welcome Gresford Athletic to the Traeth for the first home game of the season on Tuesday evening with an 8pm kick off. Port will approach the game in a very different frame of mind following the tremendous fight back at Llanidloes to secure the 3pts in a dramatic finale. Re-adjusting and finding your feet after promotion is not an easy process and that must now continue at the Traeth on Tuesday. Goals from the new signings, Alex Boss and another from Callum Parry, will please Craig Papirnyk as will Rhys Alun getting off the mark again. Gresford started their league campaign with a 1-0 defeat at Penrhyncoch but are through to Round 2 of the Nathaniel MG Cup with a 1-0 win against wildcard holders Denbigh Town. As they enter this game Port will perhaps feel that they have some unfinished business with Gresford for the last time the two met at Clappers Lane, Port suffered a disastrous 7-1 defeat. No repeats on Tuesday please!! C’mon Port! 30/07/22 NATHAN WILLIAMS: yn ymuno o Gonwy / joins from Conwy Borough Mae Craig Papirnyk wedi gwneud ychwanegiad i’w garfan gyda Nathan Williams yn arwyddo i'r clwb o Gonwy lle bu yn rhan o’u garfan am nifer o dymhorau ers ymuno o glwb Caernarfon. Roedd yn aelod o'u carfan yn erbyn Y Waun yng Nghwpan Nathaniel MG Rownd 1 pnawn Sul. Gall Nathan chwarae mewn safleoedd amddiffynnol ar draws y cefn. Cynt bu hefyd gyda CPD Llanberis. Croeso Nathan In a further addition to his squad Craig Papirnyk has signed Nathan Williams who joins from Conwy Borough where he has spent several seasons since joining from Caernarfon town. He was part of their squad against Chirk AAA last Sunday in the 1st Round of the Nathaniel MG Cup. Nathan is a versatile defender who can play anywhere across the back four. He also previously represented CPD Llanberis. Welcome Nathan 28/07/22 James v Paul Roedd dau gyn aelod o garfan Port llynedd yn gwrthwynebu eu gilydd neithiwr yn Nhywyn. Eisoes diolchwyd I James Moragn am ei gyfraniad sylweddol a neithiwr yn aelod o garfan Bermo, y gwrthwynebwyr, roedd Paul Lewis, un arall a wnaeth cyfraniad mawr I’r ymderech am ddyrchafiad. Chwaraeodd Paul 27 (+7) o gemau gan sgorio 10 gôl a hynny’n cynnwys un yn y ffeinal. Diolch Paul a phob lwc ‘nol gyda dy glwb lleol. Y sgôr oedd 1-3 i’r Bermo a diddorol nodi fod cyn chwaraewr i Port, Meilir Ellis yn y gôl i’r Bermo. Two members of last season’s squad were in opposition last night at Tywyn. We have thanked James Morgan for his substantial contribution and, in the opposition camp last night for Barmouth, was Paul Lewis, who also made a considerable contribution to the promotion effort. Paul made 27 (+7) appearances scoring 10 goals including one in the final. Thanks Paul and best of luck back with your local club. The Score was 1-3 to Barmouth and, of interest to Port supporters also, former keeper Meili Ellis kept goal for the winners. 28/07/22 JD CYMRU NORTH: Cychwyn y tymor yn Llanidloes / League campaign begins at Llanidloes (SY18 6AS) Pnawn Sadwrn bydd Port yn teithio i gae Victoria i chwarae Llanidloes, gêm agoriadol y JD Cymru North. Bydd Port yn edrych i godi eu gêm yn dilyn siom y canlyniad yn Rownd 1 Cwpan Nathaniel MG yn Rhuthun. Roedd Llani, ar y llaw arall, yn mwynhau llwyddiant yn yr un gystadleuaeth oddi cartref yn Pontardawe, clwb o’r Cymru South. Y tymor diwetha’, un safle uwch ben y tri isa’ oedd Llanidloes, yn 12fed, a bydd y gêm yn llinyn mesur da i Craig Papirnyk a’i dîm wrth geisio ail sefydlu eu hunain ar v lefel uwch. Wrth i nifer o wynebau newydd ddal i geisio addasu i’r garfan ac i un neu ddau o chwaraewyr nad oedd ar gael nos Wener ail ymddangos, gobeithiwn am 90 munud sy’n debycach i’r 45 cynta yn Rhuthun, nac i’r ail. Nodyn cadarnhaol ar y noson oedd fod y blaenwr newydd Callum Parry wedi canfod y rhwyd ar ei ymddangosiad cynta’ i’r clwb. Tipyn o coup i’r Daffs dros yr haf oedd ail arwyddo eu cyn seren Jamie Breese, un a gafodd gyfnod ardderchog ar yr Oval cyn symud yn ôl i’r canolbarth. Gall fod yn un i gadw llygad arno. C’mon Port! On Saturday Port travel to the Victoria Ground to take on Llanidloes Town in the opening J D Cymru North fixture. Port will be looking to raise their game after a disappointing result in the 1st Round of the Nathaniel MG Cup at Ruthin. Our opponents on Saturday, meanwhile, enjoyed success away at Cymru South club Pontardawe Town. Last season Llanidloes finished one place above the bottom 3 in 12th spot and will provide a good pointer for Craig Papirnyk and his squad as they start to re-acclimatise at a higher level. With several new faces continuing the fitting in process and one or two who didn’t appear at Ruthin perhaps returning, let’s hope for 90 minutes which are closer to the opening 45 at Ruthin rather than the second.A plus on the night was that new striker Callum Parry found his range, hittimg the net with a debut goal. Over the summer the Daffs made something of a coup re-signing former star, Jamie Breese, a player who enjoyed several excellent seasons at the Oval. So he could be one to watch. C’mpn Port!! 28/07/22 TOCYN TYMOR 2022/23 / SEASON TICKET 2022/23 TOCYN TYMOR 2022/23 / SEASON TICKET 2022/23 Oedolion:- £72.00 Dinesydd Hyn:- £48.00 Gemau Cynghrair yn unig Adults:- £72.00 Senior Citizens:- £48.00 League matches only Cysylltwch / Contact : DYLAN rees48wesla@gmail.com 25/07/22 PENWYTHNOSs o gemau CWPAN / NATHANIEL MG Round 1 WEEKEND Ym mhenwythnos cynta’r tymor roedd yna 8 gêm yn cynnwys clybiau’r Cymru North yng Nghwpan Nathaniel MG. Nid yn annisgwyl bu’n noson anodd i Port oddi cartref yn Rhuthun ac, er iddynt cyrraedd yr hanner un gôl ar y blaen, bu’r ail hanner yn wahanol gan ildio 4 gôl heb fedru ymateb. Un nodyn positif oedd gôl i’r blaenwr newydd, Callum Parry, ar ei ymddangosiad cynta’ Am y clybiau eraill a sicrhaodd ddyrchafiad, colli oedd hanes Y Wyddgrug o 3-2 a ddaeth hefyd yn erbyn gwrthwynebwyr cry’, sef Treffynnon. Cafodd Y Waun, enillwyr yr Ardal NE, lwyddiant yn curo Conwy gyda unig gôl y gêm. Roedd dau glwb o’r CN a gemau yn erbyn clybiau o’r ‘Ardal’ a tra gollodd Dinbych i Gresffordd o un gôl, llwyddodd Caersws i guro Prestatyn ar giciau o’r smotyn. Taith i Bontardawe cafodd Llanidloes, gwrthwynebwyr nesa’ Port, ond yn llwyddo i scrhau budduugoliaeth o 2-1 dros y clwb o’r Cymru South. Roedd hefyd buddugoliaethau i Llandudno a Bwcle. The opening weekend of the season saw 8 matches involving Cymru North clubs in the Nathaniel MG Cup. Not unexpectedly, it proved to be a difficult night for Port away to Ruthin Town and, though they turned around 1-0 to the good, they suffered in the second period, yielding four times without reply. One positive was a debut goal for new striker Callum Parry. For the other promoted teams, Mold Alex lost by the odd goal to equally strong opposition at home to Holywell. Chirk AAA, the Ardal NE winners, fared better beating Conwy Borough by the only goal of the game. Two CN clubs faced Ardal League opposition and, while Denbigh lost narrowly to Gresford, Caersws got thorough in a penalty shoot-out with Prestatyn. Port’s next opponents. Llanidloes faced Cymru South opposition and travelled down to Pontardawe returning winners by 2-1. There were also wins for Llandudno and Buckley Town. 22/07/22 Diolch James / Thanks James Mae’r amddiffynnwr canol, James Morgan, yn gadael y clwb. Gwnaeth gyfraniad gwerthfawr at dymor llwyddianus. Ymunodd o Tywyn Bryncrug ar gychwyn y tymor diwethaf gan chwarae 22 (+6) gêmau cynghrair a chwpan. Bob amser yn beryg yn y bocs o giciau chornel a rhydd, sgoriodd 3 gôl. Pob lwc at y dyfodol James The central defender James Morgan is to leave the club. He made a valuable contribution to a successful season. He joined from Tywyn Bryncrug at the start of last season making 22 (+6) league and cup appearances. A threat at set pieces he chipped in with 3 goals. All the best for the future James. 21/07/22 Cwpan Nathaniel MG Cup Rd 1 @ RHUTHUN Mae pêl-droed yn ôl a bydd Port yn cymryd eu lle yn Haen 2. Bydd yna wyrhnos arall i aros tan fydd y gêm gynghrair gynta’ ond NOS WENER bydd Port yn ymweld â’r Cae Coffa yn Rhuthun (LL15 1PH) ar gyfer Rownd 1 Cwpan Nathaniel MG gyda’r gic gynta am 7.45pm. Another week to wait for the opening league fixture but FRIDAY sees Port visit the Memorial Grounds at Ruthin (LL15 1PH), for Round 1 of the Nathaniel MG League Cup and a 7.45pm kick-off. The Denbighshire club have enjoyed a good pre-season with good wins over Airbus and Vauxhall Motors. Both clubs have strengthened their squads ahead of the new season. Craig Papirnyk has looked to further increase his goal power with the returning Meilir Williams and Callum Parry, a regular scorer for Llanrwst last season, both signing. He has looked to another former player, Morgan Jones, to take over from the retiring Paul Pritchard between the sticks. Cynt bu ar Y Traeth rhwng 2016-18. Mae Meinir wedi mynegi ei falchder i fod yn ôl ond gan deimlo fod ganddo ‘fusnes heb ei orffen’ ers y cyfnod hwnnw ar Y Traeth. Mae golwg ar yr ystadegau yn dweud pam fod o’n teimlo felly. Sgorio goliau pwysig o’r fainc oedd eu gyfraniad y tro yna, Er iddo ddechrau ond 9 gem fe rhwydodd 14 o goliau yn bennaf fel eilydd. Y tro yma mae’n bwriadu dechrau’n rheolaidd yn ogystal a sgorio’n rheolaidd. Lle bynnag mae wedi chwarae mae Meilir wedi sgorio a gyda Conwy Borough mae wedi gwneud yn y Cymru North. Croeso Meilir The club have announced the signing of Meilir Williams from Conwy Borough. Meilir will be returning to the Traeth having previously represented the club between 2016-18. Happy to be making his return to the club Meilir states that he feels he has some ‘unfinished business’ from that previous period. A look at the stats tells us why. He was more of a super sub than a regular in the starting line-up but came from the bench to score vital goals. Though he made only 9 starts he still netted 14 goals mainly as a sub. This time he will be aiming to be a regular starter and a regular goalscorer. Meilir has scored goals wherever he has played and at Conwy he has done it at Cymru North level. Welcome back Meilir. 12/06/22 EURON ROBERTS: Chwaraewr Mis Mai / May Player of the Month Llongyfarchiadau i’r amddiffynnwr Euron Roberts a ddewiswyd yn Chwaraewr y Mis am fis Mai gan y cefnogwyr. Arwyddwyd Euron gan Craig Papirnyk ym mis Ionawr i ddod a chryfder ychwanegol i’r amddiffyn ar gyfer misoedd ola’r sialens am ddyrchafiad. Roedd ail ymddangosiad Euron yn ‘chydig o syndod i rhai gan iddo gynrychioli’r y clwb yn flaenorol yng Nghynghrair Cymru a’r Cymru Alliance yn ôl yn cyfnod 2009-12. Ond ni fu yn hir yn profi ei werth mewn tri yn cefn a chwaraeodd rhan bwysig yn llwyddiant y clwb. Congratulations to defender Euron Roberts who has been voted Player of the month for May by supporters. Euron was brought back to the club in January by Craig Papirnyk to stiffen the defence as the club prepared for a final challenge for promotion. His re-appearance was a surprise to many as he had previously represented the club in the Welsh Prem and Cymru Alliance in the period 2009-12 but he has certainly proved his worth in a strong back three which made a huge contribution to the club’s final success. 09/06/22 Paratoi at y Cymru North / Getting ready for the Cymru North Mae swyddogion y clwb yn diolch yn fawr iawn i bawb a ddaeth i’r Traeth heddiw i helpu. Mae’r dorf o 1,300 yn dangos, mewn oes o bêl-droed parhaus ar deledu,.fod yna awydd cry’ yn bodoli i gefnogi pêl-droed lleol ‘Da ni wedi edrych yn ôl ar un o’r gêmau sy’n allweddol yn hanes y clwb -sef yr un ar Globe Way, Bwcle a wnaeth sicrhau dyrchafiad. Gwnawn droi at y llall, a’r tro yma y lleoliad oedd Y Traeth. Hon oedd gêm ola’ tymor 2007/08 a Port wir angen 3 phwynt er mewn osgoi disgyn o’r Uwch Gynghrair. . Ond roedd yna un broblem fawr, y gwrthwynebwyr oedd y Rhyl, un o geffylau blaen y gynghrair.ond erbyn diwedd y 90 munud trodd yr hunlle yn freuddwyd. Yn wahanol iawn i’r Ffeinal Ail-gyfle, nid oedd hon fawr o gêm, OND i gefnogwyr Port .... Dyna ichi ddiwrnod perffaith.i Viv Williams a.pan chwythodd Kerry Morgan ei chwiban ar y diwedd roedd i gyhoeddi fod Port yn aros fyny. Y sgôr? CPD Porthmadog ...1...................Rhyl FC ...0 Beth am y gem? Pa wahanieth wir! Gêm oedd hon i sicrhau lle yn yr Uwch Gynghrair. Bonws byddai gallu gorffen y tymor â sioe o bêl-droed gwych, doedd neb yn disgwyl hynny. Teimlo eich hun yn llithro i’r Cymru Alliance ac yna mwyaf sydyn pan oedd y frwydr ar fîn ei cholli cael eich llusgo nol i fyny wrth tin eich trowsus. . Y Gôl? Wel Richard Hughes oedd yr arwr,.yn sgorio 8 munud i fewn i’r ail-hanner ond byddai neb yn gwadu fod un o goliau hanesyddol y clwb yn un flêr ar y naw ond eto un o’r prydfertha. a welwyd ar Y Traeth!. Ond cyn i’r cyfan ddod i ben ...... Roedd un neu ddau o eiliadau nerfus tu hwnt. Bu’n rhaid i Richard Harvey wneud arbediad syfrdanol gyda’i goes ar 90 munud, pan oedd yn edrych fod Lee Hunt yn siwr o sgorio. Yna am y tro cynta’ ers mis Tachwedd roedd Port allan o’r 3 gwaelod. Dyna ichi amseru perffaith!. . That great feeling continues as we look back over the unforgettable Play-off Final, a Final where the performance more than matched the occasion and where Rhys Alun’s hat-trick was of such quality that it will remain in the memory of those who saw it for a very long time. The massive crowd of 1,300 shows that there is an appetite for community clubs and local football even or especially in an age of wall to wall football on TV. We have looked back at one of those games which went some way to matching the Wern Mynach Final -the promotion clincher at Globe Way, Buckley. We turn to the other game and this time the venue was Y Traeth. It was the final game of the 2007/08 season and Port were in serious danger of relegation from the Welsh Prem and in need of 3 points to stay up. The problem was that Rhyl, one of the top three clubs in the league, stood between Port and safety. But it was a case of alls well that ends well. Unlike the Play-off final it wasn’t much of a game but to Port supporters....... A perfect day for manager Viv Williams and when referee Kerry Morgan blew his final whistle it declared that Port were staying up. . The score? CPD Porthmadog ...1...................Rhyl FC ...0 The game? Who care's about the game? This was all about survival. It would have been great to end with a flourish of quality football but it was never going to be like that. It was more a case of being in free fall through the trap door marked 'Cymru Alliance' and then, when all seemed lost, being yanked upward to safety by the seat of your pants. This was one of the most tense afternoons ever at the Traeth. The goal? Well Richard Hughes was the hero scoring just 8 minutes into the second half and few would deny that one of the most important Port goals was also one of the scurffiest, beautiful goals seen at the Traeth .. ever. Before it was all over........ There were still one or two hairy moments for Port to overcome and none more than in the 90th minute when Richard Harvey pulled off a remarkable save with his trailing leg when it seemed that Lee Hunt must score. For the first time since about November Port were out of the bottom three. Now that's perfect timing!. . Wrth edrych yn ôl dros 20 mlynedd o hanes ein clwb, ychydig o fuddugoliaethau mor bwysig a gafwyd. Mae’n bosib mai dim ond dwy gêm arall bu o’r un pwysigrwydd a hon. Ewch yn ôl 19 mlynedd -cyn i nifer o gefnogwyr Port ar Wern Mynach cael eu geni. Ar 19 Ebrill 2003 ar Globe Way Bwcle, sicrhaodd Port ddyrchafiad i Uwchgynghrair Cymru. Daeth y llall -Ebrill 19 eto !- yn 2008 ond nid i sicrhau dyrchafiad y tro yma ond, i gadw eu lle yn yr Uwch Gynghrair. Roedd angen 3 phwynt yn y gêm ola’ o’r tymor a hynny yn erbyn tîm cryf Y Rhyl, a orffennodd yn 3 ydd yn y tabl, tu ôl i Lanelli a TNS. Dewch i gael golwg ar gêm Bwcle. Y canlyniad oedd:- Bwcle...... 2..............Porthmadog .... 3 I roi cyd-destun i’r gêm: Roedd hon yn gêm rhwng dau dîm llwyddianus, Port heb golli mewn 27 o gêmau cynghrair tra roedd Bwcle ar rhediad o 22 gêm heb golli mewn gemau cwpan a chynghrair. Gyda’r fuddugoliaeth hon sicrhaodd Viv Williams ac Osian Roberts ddyrchafiad Port a 4 gêm yn dal yn weddill. Ond cyn llwyddo bu’n rhaid i Port rhwydo ddwywaith yn y 12 munud ola’ o’r gêm. Roedd Richie Owen wedi rhoi Port ar y blaen yn gynnar gyda ergyd nerthol i gornel ucha’r rhwyd -rhwyd a bu angen ei hail osod cyn ail gychwyn y gêm. . Gyda’r record diguro mewn peryg’ dyma Gareth Caughter yn croesi i’r postyn pella’ a seren y gêm, Carl Owen, yn ymestyn blaen ei droed a chanfod y rhwyd. Gyda’r sgôr yn gyfartal daeth gôl Robert Williams a’r fuddugoliaeth – o dan bwysau gan.dau amddiffynwr ergydiodd o 20 llath i gornel y rhwyd. Roedd amser dathlu wedi cyrraedd!! . Porthmadog: Gerard McGuigan, John G. Jones, Campbell. Harrison, Lee. Webber, Mike. Foster, Dafydd.Evans, Gareth Parry, Richie Owen, Gareth Caughter, Tony Williams (Rob Williams), Carl Owen.. Subs not used: Iwan Roberts, Ywain Gwynedd. Port supporters have more than the Jubilee to celebrate as they still struggle to get their feet back on the ground after the remarkable Play-Off victory at Barmouth. Looking back over the last 20 years of Port history, there have not been too many victories of such significance. There have possibly been 2 other games which might match this one in importance, Turn your mind back 19 years, before some of the young Port supporters at Wern Mynach last Saturday were born. On the 19 April 2003, at Globe Way, Buckley, Port clinched promotion to the Welsh Premier. . The other came, and it was the 19 April again, and the year 2008. There was no promotion at stake but rather all about keeping our place in te Welsh Prem needing 3 points from the last game of the season against a strong Rhyl side that finished in 3rd place behind Llanelli and TNS. Let;s take a look at the Buckley game. The result was:- Buckley Town ... 2.......Porthmadog .... 3 To give the game some context This was a game between the form sides of the league and something would have to give. Port boasted a record of 27 games unbeaten in the league while Buckley were on a run of 22 league and cup games without defeat. With this victory, the managerial team of Viv Williams and Osian Roberts, secured promotion with 4 games still remaining. To achieve it however they found themselves in the unlikely situation of having to score twice in the last 12 minutes in order to clinch the victory.Richie Owen had given Port an early lead with a thunderous shot from the edge of the box into the top corner of the net -a net which required running repairs as a result ! With the unbeaten record seriously under threat Gareth Caughter, in the 78th min, whipped a ball to the far post where, man of the match, Carl Owen, at full stretch, managed to toe end the ball past home keeper Turner and into the net.It was all to play for again and in the 83rd minute Robert Williams controlled a long ball out of defence and, with two defenders breathing down his neck, fired a powerful 20yd shot into the top corner of the net. The celebrations could now begin! Porthmadog: Gerard McGuigan, John G. Jones, Campbell. Harrison, Lee. Webber, Mike. A’r pwysica un, mi wnes ffrindiau am oes.” Ymateb Craig Papirnyk i’r newyddion oedd:- “ Mwynha dy ymddeoliad, bu’n bleser fod yn rheolwr arnat gyda Port a chael chwarae rhan yn dy yrfa lwyddianus. Chwaraewr gwych ond person hyd yn oed gwell. Pob hwyl mêt.” Derbyniodd cefnogwyr Port y newyddion gyda chymysgedd o dristwch a diolchgarwch. Tristwch mai pnawn Sadwrn, ar Wern Mynach, oedd y tro ola’ i’r golwr talentog hwn gael ei weld rhwng y pyst i’r clwb, diolchgarwch am y perfformaiadau gwych a gafwyd ganddo. Yn addas iawn daeth a’i yrfa i ben drwy gadw llechen lân arall. Dychwelodd Paul i’r clwb mis Ionawr diwetha’, a chwarae rhan bwysig wrth sicrhau dyrchafiad. Mae ei glybiau cynt yn cynnwys Caernarfon , Cei Conna, Rhyl a Chaergybi yn Pyramid Cymru ac i Warrington yn y Northern League yn Lloegr. Diolch Paul a phob dymuniad da at y dyfodol. Paul Pritchard has announced his retirement with these words:- “Well my time as come to hang up the gloves after 22 seasons. My final competitive game (Unless of an emergency) will be for Porthmadog in the play off final, it’s been an absolute pleasure playing for every club along the way. Most importantly I’ve made friends for life.” Craig Papirnyk responded to the news like this:- “Enjoy retirement, it’s been an absolute pleasure managing you at Porthmadog and playing a part in your very successful career, Great player and an even better persom. All the best mate.” Port supportres received the news of his decision to hang up the gloves with a mixture of sadness and gratituce. Sadness that Saturday at Wern Mynach is the last time this quality keeper will be seen between the sticks for the club, gratitude for the many superb performances. Fittingly he ends it all with a clean sheet in such an important fixture. Paul returned to the club in January to play a key role in securing promotion. He previously represented the club from 2018/20. His previous clubs include Caernarfpn Town, Connah’s Quay Rhyl and Holyhead Hotspur in the Welsh Pyramid and Warrington Town in the Northern League. Ond ymdrech tîm oedd hon o Paul Pritchard yn y cefn, drwy’r amddiffyn i berfformaid creadigol arbennig Gareth Jones Evans yng nghanol cae at Rhys Alun a’r ymosod -heb anghofio’r eilyddion. Pan fydd dau glwb, sy’n rhan hanfodol o’u cymdeithas, yn cyfarfod mewn gêm o’r pwys mwya’, mae’r cefnogwyr yn troi allan mewn niferoedd -ond roedd 1,300 tu hwnt i’n breuddwydion mwyaf eithafol. Yn wir mae’r tymor cynta’, yn dilyn adrefnu’r Pyramid, wedi gorffen mewn tipyn o steil. Diolch yn fawr i glwb y Bermo a Dyffryn am ei croeso a’u trefniadau arbennig o wych, gan sicrhau fod cae Wern Mynach mewn cyflwr perffaith -a diolch arbennig i’r tirmon Gareth Evans. Dyna ichi ffordd i Paul Pritchard alw digon ar ei yrfa ddisglair – hynny ydy os nad yw’n ail feddwl ar ôl llechen lân arall. Chwaraeodd y clwb o’r canolbarth rhan bwysig yn yr achlysur, ac edrychwn ymlaen i weld Caersws, clwb a hanes a thraddodiad cyfoethog hefyd yn y Cymru North. Cofiwch ddarllen adroddiad ardderchog Treflyn, wedyn argraffwch o, ei fframio ac i fyny ag o ar y wal. Atgofion!! Gallwn adlesio geiriau Paps yn dilyn y gêm “Teimlad anghredadwy ac am gefnogaeth. Ddof yn ôl at eich negeseun i gyd ond rwan DATHLU.” Haeddiannol wir!! When a club wins a play-off final there is no better way to head off for promotion. What a day!! Congratulations to Craig Papirnyk, his well-prepared squad and his coaching team, for an unforgettable performance. Five top quality goals, which included a Rhys Alun super hat-trick of the highest quality and then, topped up close at the end, with a goal each for sub, John Littlemore. and Barmouth boy Paul Lewis. But it was essentially a team effort, from Paul Pritchard through the defence via a great creative Gareth Jones Evans performance in midfield, to Rhys Alun and the attack, not forgetting the subs When two genuine community clubs face each other in a game of real importance, the fans turn out in numbers but 1,300 at a Tier 3 Final surpassed even our wildest dreams. In its very first season the FAW’s re-organised pyramid has ended in some style. A huge thank-you to Barmouth and Dyffryn FC for their brilliant hosting, where everything was superbly organised and played on Wern Mynach’s perfectly prepared and well-manicured pitch -thanks to groundsman Gareth Evans. What a way for Paul Pritchard to end his playing career, that is unless he is having second thoughts after yet another clean sheet. The club from mid-Wales played a huge part in a memorable occasion. Caersws are a club with a rich history and tradition and we look forward to seeing them also back in the Cymru North very soon. Read Treflyn’s excellent match report, print it and frame it. Memories are made of this!! We can all echo an elated Craig Papirnyk’s comment “Unbelievable feeling … get in. Some support that ! I will get back to all the messages but now to Celebrate.” Well deserved. |
