26/11/23 Anaf Osian / Osian’s injury Roedd yn siom i bawb yn y clwb glywed am yr anaf drwg a gafodd y chwaraewr ifanc Osian Evans yn ystod y gêm Ail-dîm ar Y Traeth gyda Treffynnon pnawn Sadwrn. Derbyniodd Osian lawdriniaeth ar ôl toriad i’w 'tibia'. Dymuniadau gorau a brysia wella Osh!! Bydd ein gêm gyda Llanidloes yn cael ei hadrefnu. Y gêm nesa’ i Port fydd yr ymweliad â’r Rec yng Nghaersws ar 2 Rhagfyr. Y gêm nesa’ ar Y Traeth fydd gêm Cwpan JD Cymru ar 9 Rhagfyr pan fydd Port a Bwcle yn chwarae am le yn 8-ola’r gystadleuaeth. Port will not be in action this weekend as, the intended opponents, Llanidoes are involved in a Welsh Blood Services League Cup tie with Llandudno. The visit of the Daffs to the Traeth will now be re-arranged for a future date. Port will next be in action on Saturday, 2nd December, away at Caersws. The next game at the Traeth will be the JD Welsh Cup 4th Round tie on 9th December, when Port and Buckley Town play for a place in the quarter-final of this year’s competition. 20/11/23 Gwyneb newydd yn y dygowt / New face in the dugout Efallai fod rhai wedi bod yn holi pwy ydy’r gwyneb newydd wrth ymyl Paps mewn gemau? Nid yn wyneb newydd go-iawn, gan fod yr is-reolwr newydd, Peter Griffith, yn wyneb cyfarwydd ar draws pêl-doed yn y gogledd, ac wedi bod am gyfnod o 20 mlynedd. Cychwynodd ei yrfa gyda CPD Pwllheli cyn mynd ymlaen i chwarae i 15 o glybiau a gorffen fel chwaraewr gyda chlwb Debenham yn Suffolk. Some might have been asking who is the new face in the Port dugout? Not a new face really as Peter Griffith, Craig’s new assistant manager, is a familiar face in north Wales football and has been over the last 20 years. He commenced his senior career with CPD Pwllheli before playing for a total of 15 clubs, finishing his playing days with Debenham FC in Suffolk . He will bring this wide and varied experience to his new role at the Traeth. 17/11/23 Port adra yn Rownd 4 / Port get home draw Mae Port wedi osgoi gwrthwynebwyr o’r Cymru Premier yn Rownd 4 o Gwpan JD Cymru a byddant yn croesawu cyd aelodau o’r Cymru North sef Bwcle. Port v Bwcle, Hwlffordd v Cardiff Met, Caerfyrddin v YSN, Fflint v Cei Connah, Caerau Elai v Bala, Briton Ferry/Llansawel v Llanelli, Mynydd Fflint v De Gwyr, Bae Colwyn v Barri. Chwareir y gemau ar benwythnos 9fed Rhagfyr. Port have avoided Cymru Premier opposition in Rownd 4 of the JD Welsh Cup and will play fellow Cymru North opponents Buckley Town. Again Port will be at home. Port v Buckley., Haverfordwesy v Cardiff Met, Carmarthen v TNS, Flint v CQN, Caerau Ely v Bala, Briton Ferry/ Llansawel v Llanelli., Flint Mountain v South Gower, Colwyn Bay v Barry. The games will be played on the weekend 9th December 16/11/23 CAERSWS: Sadwrn / Saturday: Y TRAETH: 12.00pm. Ar Y Traeth pnawn Sadwrn bydd y gêm rhwng Port a Chaersws yn cael ei chwarae. SYLWCH!!!, bydd y gic gynta’ am 12pm. Bydd Port heb gêm y Sadwrn wedyn Tachwedd 25 am fod Llanidloes yn chwarae yng Nghwpan Gwasanaeth Gwaed Cymru ond yn chwarae Caersws eto mewn pythefnos. Hwn fydd y tro cynta’ i’r ddau glwb gyfarfod ers y diwrnod heulog hwnnw ar Wern Mynach pan sicrhaodd Port ddyrchfiad. Mae Caersws wedi dilyn Port yn ôl i’r Cymru North ar gyfer y tymor hwn. Cryfhawyd carfan Caersws yn sylweddol dros yr haf gyda’r cyn chwaraewr profiadol Neil Mitchell yn dychwelyd o’r Drenewydd a hefyd chwaraewr arall profiadol Craig Williams o’r un clwb., Cafodd y clwb o’r canolbarth gychwyn da iawn i’r tymor ond wedi llithro rhywfaint yn ddiweddar gan ennill ond un o’u 5 gêm ddiweddara’. Bydd gêm pnawn Sadwrn yn un rhwng yr 8fed a’r 9fed yn y tabl. Mae’n dynn iawn yng nghanol y tabl ac, i’r ddau glwb, byddai 3 phwynt yn medru gwneud gwahaniaeth sylweddol i’w safle. Gyda Port yn ennill lle yn 16 ola’ Cwpan Cymru, bydd eu golygon yn troi at sicrhau berfformiadau mwy cyson yn y gynghrair. C’mon Port!! The Cymru North fixture between Caersws and Port has been switched to the Traeth. It will be played on Saturday with a 12.00 pm kick off. This will be the first of a double header with the mid-Wales club, as the away fixture will now be played on December 2nd. Port will not be playing on the November 25th as Llanidloes will be involved in a WBS Cup-tie. This will the first time the Port and Caersws have met since the play-off at a sunny Wern Mynach to decide who gained promotion. Caersws then followed Port back into the Cymru North for this season. Following promotion, Caersws have strengthened their squad considerably. The experienced Neil Mitchell returning from Newtown and Craig Williams also signed from the Cymru Premier club. Caersws have made a good start to life back at Tier 2 though form has slipped slightly recently with one win in the last five. On Saturday it will be a game between 8th and 9th placed clubs. It is a very tight mid-table and both clubs and 3 points can make a considerable difference. For Port, having progressed to the last 16 of the Welsh Cup, the search for consistency continues. C’mon Port!! Mae ein trysorydd, Clive Hague wedi cymryd golwg ar yr 16 clwb sy’n weddill yn y gystadleuaeth a’i gosod yn ôl trefn Haen yn y pyramid a safle presennol yn y tablau.12fed, felly, ydy Port Y 7 ucha’, wrth gwrs, ydy’r clybiau Cymru Premier yn Haen 1. 1.TNS, 2. CQN, 3.Met Caerdydd, 4 Bala, 5.Hwlffordd, 6.Y Barri, 7.Bae Colwyn . Yn dilyn, daw’r clybiau Haen 2 a dyma’r drefn yn ôl safle yn y tablau: 8.Llanelli, 9, Llansawel, 10.Fflint, 11.Caerfyrddin, 12. Porthmadog, 13.Caerau Elai, 14. Bwcle.. Hyn felly yn gadael dau glwb Haen 3. 15. De Gwyr, 16, Mynydd Fflint. Meddai Clive, “Wedi’r pleser o groesawu pwyllgor, cefnogwyr, chwaraewyr a rheolwyr clwb y Maes Awyr am y tro cynta’ erioed, byddai dod allan o’r het efo Caerau Elai neu De Gwyr yn gyfle gwych i gysylltu gyda clwb arall o’r de am y tro cynta.” Cawn weld pan ddaw’r enwau allan nos Wene!!. Our opponents in Round 3, Cardiff Airport, were the last Tier 4 club remaining in the competition. Our treasurer Clive Hague has taken a look at the 16 clubs remaining and has placed them in pecking order according to current league position and placement in the pyramid. Accordingly, Port placed12th. The top 7 are the Tier 1 Cymru Premier clubs: 1.TNS, 2. CQN, 3.Cardiff Met, 4. Bala Town, 5.Haverfordwest County, 6.Barry Town, 7.Colwyn Bay. These are followed Tier 2 clubs and, according to current league position, come out like this: 8.Llanelli, 9,Briton Ferry Llansawel, 10.Flint, 11.Carmarthen Town, 12. Porthmadog, 13.Caerau Ely, 14. Buckley Town,. That leaves the two Tier 3 Ardal clubs: 15.South Gower, 16. Flint Mountain. Clive adds, “After having the pleasure in hosting the Committee, supporters, players and management of Cardiff Airport AFC for the first ever time, a draw in the 4th round against either Caerau Ely or South Gower would be a great chance to become acquainted with yet another South Wales club for the first time.” We shall see when the draw is made on Friday!! 11/11/23 Llwyddiant cyn chwaraewr / Former Port player makes his mark Bydd nifer ohonoch yn cofio Iestyn Woolway yn chwarae dros Port yn y blynyddoedd o gwmaps 2004-08, i’r tîm cynta a’r ail dîm. Yn ystod y cyfnod roedd Port yn y Welsh Prem ac Osian Roberts yn rheolwr ac yn canmol ei dalentau fel chwaraewr ifanc. Erbyn heddiw mae Dr Iestyn Woolway yn Gymrawd Ymchwil Annibynnol NERC a Darllenydd yn yr Ysgol Gwyddorau Eigion ym Mangor, yn wyddonydd hinsawdd, sy'n ymchwilio i effaith newid hinsawdd ar lynnoedd a'u hecosystemau. Disgrifir Iestyn fel seren y maes gwyddioniaeth hinsawdd ac mae wedi derbyn medal Dillwyn Cymdeithas Ddysgiedig Cymru am eleni. Ar nos Fawrth, 14 Tachwedd, bydd Dr Woolway yn rhoi darlith gyhoeddus ar ran y Royal Geographical Society ym Mhrifysgol Bangor. Many of you will recall Iestyn Woolway appearing for Port back in the years around 2004/2008 in both our reserves and first team. Port, were at that time in the Welsh Premier and managed by Osian Roberts who was described as a big admirer of the young player’s talents. Now he is Dr Iestyn Woolway, Independent Research Fellow and Reader at the School of Ocean Sciences, at Bangor, a climate scientist who researches the impact of climate change on lakes and their ecosystems. He is described as a climate science star receiving this year’s Dillwyn Medal from the Learned Society of Wales. On Tuesday, 14 November, Dr Woolway will present a Royal Geographical Society public lecture at Bangor University. 09/11/23 CARDIFF AIRPORT FC: Sad /Sat: Cwpan JD Cymru / JD Welsh Cup Rd 3: 2.00pm Noddwyr y Gêm / Match Sponsors: Cefnogwyr Port / Port Supporters Mae’n 3edd Rownd Cwpan Cymru pnawn Sadwrn pan fyddwn yn estyn croeso i glwb Maes Awyr Caerdydd; Cardiff Airport FC, i’r Traeth. Mae’n sefyllfa newydd i ddau glwb sydd heb gyfarfod o’r blaen. Mae clwb y Maes Awyr yn chwarae yn 4ydd Haen y pyramid ac wedi lwyddo i gyrraedd y 3edd rownd diolch i ddwy fuddugoliaeth o 3-1 dros Cefn Forest a hefyd Clwb Y Fenni sydd yn chwarae yn Haen 2. Hefyd, bu’n rhaid i’n gwrthwynebwyr chwarae dwy rownd rhagbrofol gan guro Cwmbach Royal Stars a Bae Caerdydd. Yn eu gêm ddiweddara’ curo o 6-0 oedd eu hanes y penwythnos diwetha’ mewn gêm gwpan cynghrair SWFA yn erbyn clwb yr Eglwys Newydd (AFC Whitchurch.). Chwarae yng Nghynghrair y South Wales Alliance mae clwb y Maes Awyr gan chwarae eu gemau cartref ar Barc Jenner, yn y Barri. Cyrhaeddod Port y rownd yma diolch i ‘5 Perffaith’ o’r smotyn i guro Y Waun a manteisio ar arbediad gan Chwaraewr y Mis- Alex Ward-Jones. Y Sadwrn diwetha’, er waetha’ perfformiad o safon, colli i Fflint wnaeth Port, er yn haeddu llawer gwell yn erbyn y clwb sydd ymysg ceffylau blaen y Cymru North., Cyfle i chwarae yn yr 16 ola’ fydd y wobr i un o’r ddau glwb pnawn Sadwrn. Cic gynta’ 2 o’r gloch. C’mon Port !!! It’s Round 3 of the JD Welsh Cup on Saturday and we extend a warm welcome to Cardiff Airport FC to the Traeth. So it is a step into the unknown for both clubs. The Airport club, who play at Tier 4 of the pyramid, reached this stage with 3-1 away victories over both Cefn Forest and Tier 2 Abergavenny Town. The club have also had to negogiate two preliminary rounds with wins over Cwmbach Royal Stars and Cardiff Bay. Their most recent result was a bumper 6-0 win in the SWFA Senior Cup over AFC Whitchurch last weekend. The club play in the South Wales Alliance Premier Division with their home matches being played at Jenner Park, the home of Cymru Premier club Barry Town Utd. Port reached this stage thanks to a ‘perfect five’ penalty shoot-out victory over Chirk AAA, capitalising on a vital save by Player of the Month Alex Ward Jones. Last Saturday, despite a defeat to promotion challengers Flint, Port produced an excellent performance which deserved considerably better than a 3-1 defeat. A chance to reach the last 16 of this season’s competition will be the reward for one of the two clubs on Saturday. Kick off 2.00 pm C;mon Port !! Llun / Photo: Tom Mahoney; un o’r ‘5 perffaith!’ / one of the ‘perfect 5’! 08/11/23 CARDIFF AIRPORT FC: Ein gwrthwynebwyr yn y Gwpan / Our Cup opponents Rhan o apêl Cwpan Cymru ydy ei fod yn creu cysylltiad rhwng clybiau sydd ddim fel arfer yn dod ar draws eu gilydd. Dyna fydd yr hanes pnawn Sadwrn pan fyddwn yn croesawu CPD Y Maes Awyr Caerdydd, a’u rheolwr hir dymor Stephen Jones. i’r Traeth. Ffurfiwyd clwb Y Maes Awyr yn 1979 ac maent wedi mynd ymlaen i sicrhau nifer o anrhydeddau gyda’r cynta’ o rhain yn dod wrth ennill Cwpan Cefnogwyr Y Barri yn 2007. Aethant ymlaen i ennill y gwpan yma ar 3 achlysur arall. Roeddynt yn Bencampwyr Prif Gynghrair Bro Morgannwg ddwy flynedd yn olynol, 2014/15 a 2015/16. Yn dilyn dyrchafiad i’r South Wales Alliance enillodd y clwb Adran Un yn 2021/22 a hyn yn arwain at ddyrchafiad pellach i Brif Adran yr SWA (Haen4) a dyna lle maent yn chwarae ar hyn o bryd. Yn Parc Jenner, sef cartref clwb Y Barri, mae’r clwb yn chwarae eu gemau cartref, maes sydd yn gyfarwydd iawn i gefnogwyr Port ers dyddiau y Welsh Prem. One of the charms of the Welsh Cup is that it brings together clubs, who in the normal run of things, never come across each other, This is very much the case as we welcome Cardiff Airport FC, and their long term manager Stephen Jones, to the Traeth. The Airport club was formed in 1979 and, they have gone on to achieve a number of successes with the first if these coming winning the Barry Supporters Cup in 2007. This was a trophy they have gone on to win on 3 other occasions. They were Vale of Glamorgan Premier League Champions in successive seasons 2014/15 and 2015/16. Promoted to the South Wales Alliance, the club won Division One in 2021/22 which led to further promotion to the SWA Premier League where they now operate. The club play their home games at Jenner Park, the home of Barry Town and a ground which was familiar to Port supporters in their WPL days. 05/11/23 ALEX WARD-JONES: Chwaraewr y Mis / Player of the Month Llongyfarchiadau i Alex Ward-Jones sydd wedi’i enwi yn Chwaraewr Mis Hydref gan y cefnogwyr. Gwnaeth y golwr ifanc 18 oed argraff fawr ar bawb ar Y Traeth ers cael ei wthio fewn i gemau tîm cynta’ yn dilyn yr anaf i Matt Wallace. Yn hwyr ym mis Medi chwaraeodd ei gêm gynta’ yn y fuddugoliaeth o 2-1 dros Ddinbych ac wedi mynd ymlaen i chwarae chwe gêm olynol. Cadwodd Port yn y gêm yn erbyn Rhuthun yn ddiweddar a thrwy hynny rhoi’r cyfle am gôl hwyr i rannu’r pwyntiau. Llongyfarchiadau Alex !! Congratulations to Alex Ward-Jones who has been voted Supporters Player of the Month for October. The young 18 year-old keeper has made a considerable impression on all at the Traeth since being thrust into first team football following the injury to Matt Wallace. He made his debut in late September in the 2-1 win over Denbigh Town and has gone on to, make six consecutive appearances. His performance in the recent fixture with Ruthin kept Port in the game, enabling a late equaliser to be enough for a share of the points. Congrats Alex!! Llun/Photo: Dylan Elis: TeleduPortTV 05/11/23 Adroddiadau / Match Reports Fel cefnogwyr mae gennych ddewis o adroddiadau y penwythnos yma. Cewch ddarllen adroddiad safonol arferol Treflyn ar wefan Port. Cewch hefyd gymryd y cyfle i droi at yr adroddiad ar wefan Y Fflint. Mae hwn gan sgwennwr hir dymor Y Fflint, sef Nigel Sheen, ac sydd hefyd yn un o safon. Cyngor : Trowch at y ddau am flas o gêm arbennig o dda a oedd yn destun clod i’r Cymru North. Fans are spoiled this weekend with a choice of match reports. There is Treflyn’s usual high standard report on the Port website. You might like also take the opportunity to read the report on the Flint Town website. This is by Flint’s long term match reporter Nigel Sheen and of a similar high standard. Advice: Read both to get a flavour of what was an excellent match and a credit to the Cymru North 02/11/23 FFLINT : Sadwrn / Saturday: Y Traeth 2.30pm. Noddwr y gêm / Match Sponsor: BWYDYDD OREN / OREN FOODS Bydd Port yn croesawu Fflint, sef un o’r clybiau sydd yn y râs am ddyrchafiad, i’r Traeth pnawn Sadwrn. Gall Y Fflint gyfri eu hunain braidd yn anlwcus i golli eu lle yn y Cymru Premier y tymor diwetha' ac felly nid yw’n fawr o syndod i’w gweld yn brwydro i adfer y lle hwnnw at y tymor nesa’. Ar y funud yn y 3ydd safle mae Y Fflint yn dal yn ddiguro yn eu 9 gêm gynghrair gan rhwydo 19 gôl, un yn fwy na Port, ond edrychwch ar y goliau a ildiwyd ganddynt -dim ond 7. Hyn yn arwydd o amddiffyn styfnig anodd i’w dorri. Er yn hapus iawn efo’r pwynt yn Rhuthun, diolch i gôl hwyr Cai Jones, rhoddwyd y canlyniad yn ei gyd destun gan Craig Papirnyk yn cydnabod fod Port wedi bod yn ffodus i gael gêm gyfartal. Anghysondeb ydy’r broblem yn dal, a fydd angen i Port fod ar eu gorau pnawn Sadwrn. C’mon Port!! Port will welcome serious promotion challengers Flint to the Traeth on Saturday. Flint could consider themselves unfortunate to lose their Cymru Prem place last season, so it is hardly surprising to see them right up there challenging to regain their place in the top league. Currently Flint are in 3rd spot and a look at their record shows that they remain unbeaten in their 9 league games. The table also shows that they have netted 19 goals while Port have netted 18 times but Flint have conceded just 7 goals which suggests that their success this season is based on a very mean defence. Craig Papirnyk, while pleased to pick up a point at Ruthin courtesy of a late Cai Jones equaliser, admitted, in his post match interview, that they were indeed fortunate to come away with a share of the points. Inconsistency remains the problem to overcome and Port will certainly need to be at their very best on Saturday. C’mon Port!! Llun / Photo: Cai Jones: a rhwydodd y gôl yn Rhuthun / scored the vital goal at Ruthin 30/10/23 Cap Rhys Alun / Rhys Alun receives his cap Cyflwynwyd ei gap rhyngwladol i Rhys Alun gan William Lloyd Williams ar ran CBDC yn Rhuthun nos Wener. Roedd Rhys yn rhan o garfan Cymru ar gyfer cystadleuaeth y rhanbarthau a gynhaliwyd yn Belfast o dan faner UEFA yn ddiweddar. Llongyfarchiadau Rhys!! Rhys Alun was presented with his international cap by William Lloyd Williams on behalf of FAW at Ruthin Town on Friday night. Rhys was part of the Wales squad for the region's competition held in Belfast under the UEFA flag recently. Congratulations Rhys!! Llun/Photo: Dylan Elis: TeleduPortTV 29/10/23 Y wefan yn ôl / Website operating fully again Cafodd rhai ohonom broblem efo sicrhau mynediad i’r wefan gyda’r cyfeiriad porthmadogfc.com yn ddiweddar. Cafwyd peth drafferth hefyd efo llwytho’r wefan. Yn ffodus daeth Faris Raouf o Cymru1 i’n hachub unwaith eto, yn sortio’r problemau a sicrhau fod y gwasanaeth arferol yn ôl. Yn wir mae’r clwb yn ddyledus iawn i Faris, sydd wedi hostio a noddi gwefan Port ers 1997 trwy ei gwmni rhyngrwyd a thelegyfathrebu, Cymru1,net Diolch eto Faris am y gwasanaeth diguro a dderbyniwyd dros yr holl flynyddoedd. Many of us have recently experienced problems accessing the website via porthmadogfc.com There have also been some problems with updating the site. Fortunately, Faris Raouf of Cymru 1 came to the rescue again, sorting out the problems and ensuring that the website can return to normal service. The club is seriously indebted to Faris, who has both hosted and sponsored the Port website since 1997 via his internet and telcommunicatios company at Cymru1.net. Thanks again Faris for the service you have provided all these years. 25/10/23 RHUTHUN: Gwener / Friday: Memorial Fields: 7.30pm.LL15 1PH Bydd Port yn teithio i Rhuthun nos Wener am gêm gynghrair. Eisoes mae’r ddau wedi chwarae eu gilydd y tymor hwn, gyda Rhuthun yn sicrhau buddugoliaeth haeddiannol yng Nghwpan GGC ar Y Traeth. Ers hynny ni bu’r canlyniadau cystal i’r clwb o Ddyffryn Clwyd yn colli tair o gemau cynghrair yn olynol. Bydd Port, yn dilyn eu perfformiad yn sicrhau’r fuddugoliaeth dros Prestatyn, yn awyddus i glirio’r atgof am y golled yn y gwpan o’r cof. I Port, chwilio am gysondeb ydy’r sialens, a bydd angen iddynt fod ar ei gorau eto i gael canlyniad yn Rhuthun, nos Wener. Bydd angen cadw golwg arbennig ar y sgoriwr cyson Llyr Morris a rhwydodd ddwywaith ar y Traeth. Gêm rhwng y 9fed ac 11eg fydd hon gyda’r ddau yn anelu i symud fyny’r tabl. C’mon Port!! Port will travel to Ruthin for a Friday night fixture in the Cymru North. The two clubs have already met this season, with Ruthin gaining a convincing WBS League Cup victory at the Traeth. Since that game the Vale of Clwyd club have not been in the best form, suffering 3 consecutive league defeats. Port will be keen to erase the memory of that Cup defeat, and come to this game on the back of an excellent performance to secure a good win over Prestatyn last Saturday. For Port, consistency has been a missing ingredient this season, and they will be looking to repeat this form if they are to challenge Ruthin on Friday. They will also need to keep a defensive eye out for regular scorer Llyr Morris, who netted twice at the Traeth. A game hetween 9th and 11th and both teams looking to move up the table. C’mon Port!!
