29/11/12 Craig Roberts yn gadael Port / Craig Roberts leaves Port Mae Craig Roberts i adael y clwb ac arwyddo i Glantraeth. Ymunodd Craig â Port o glwb Bethesda ym mis Gorffennaf 2010 a chwaraeodd i Fangor yn UGC rhwng 2000 a 2003. Difethwyd ei dymor cyntaf ar y Traeth gan anaf drwg ac roedd angen llawdriniaeth a chyfnod hir o adferiad arno. Cafodd dymor rhydd o anafiadau yn 2011/12 gan sgorio 12 gôl. Y tymor yma sgoriodd unwaith mewn 8(+6) o gemau. Dywedodd y rheolwr Gareth Parry, “Rwy’n siomedig ofnadwy i golli Craig ac yn diolch iddo am bopeth dros y ddwy flynedd a hanner ddiwethaf.” Mae pawb yn y clwb yn diolch i Craig am ei gyfraniad ac yn dymuno’n dda i’r dyfodol. Craig Roberts has left Port to sign for Welsh Alliance club Glantraeth. Craig joined Port from Bethesda Athletic in July 2010, having previously represented Bangor in the WPL between 2000 and 2003. His first season with Port was badly disrupted by a serious knee injury which required an operation and months of recuperation. He remained injury free in 2011/12 scoring 12. This season he has scored once in 8 (+6) games. Manager Gareth Parry said, “I am very disappointed to lose Craig and would like to thank him for his valuable contribution over the past two and a half years.” All at the club would like to thank Craig for his efforts and wish him well in the future. 29/11/12 Rhagolwg/Preview: Rhyl v Port Bydd Port yn teithio i’r Rhyl ddydd Sadwrn i chwarae eu trydydd gêm oddi cartref yn olynol. O ystyried canlyniadau’r Rhyl y tymor hwn bydd hon yn gêm hynod o anodd. Mae record o 14 gêm heb golli yn dweud y cyfan a’r unig bwyntiau a gollwyd oedd yn y gêm gyfartal yn Bwcle. Ar y Belle Vue mae ganddynt record berffaith o saith buddugoliaeth. Eu cyfanswm o 57 o goliau ydy’r uchaf yn y yr HGA ac wrth wneud hynny dim ond yn gadael 11 o goliau i’w rhwyd –y record amddiffynnol orau hefyd. Dyna ydy maint y dasg felly. Ond wrth edrych at y prawf hwn gall Port hefyd pwyntio at rhai pethau positif. Maent heb golli yn y chwe gêm cynghrair ddiwethaf ac heb adael gôl i’w rhwyd mewn pedair o’r gemau yna. Casglwyd 14 o bwyntiau yn y chwe gêm. Bonws arall ydy fod Graham Boylan wedi sgorio 5 gol yn y chwe gêm. Bydd ddydd Sadwrn yn brawf ar yr adfywiad. Mae ychwanegu cyn chwaraewr Port, Marc ‘Loggs’ Evans, sydd wedi sgorio 14 gôl, gyda Paul McManus a Tom Rowlands hefyd ymysg prif sgorwyr yr adran wedi cynyddu’r pŵer Rhyl o flaen y gôl, tra fod yr amddiffyn, â adeiladwyd o gwmpas Russ Courtney a Stefan Halewood, yn dal yn gryf. Y tymor diwethaf sicrhaodd Port 4 pwynt o’r ddwy gêm gynghrair, yn llawn pêl-droed o safon, a chwaraewyd llynedd. Port will travel to Rhyl on Saturday for a third consecutive away game and they don’t get any more difficult, given the current form of the Belle Vue club. An unbeaten record after 14 games speaks for itself, dropping points only in the 2-2 draw at Buckley, while at the Belle Vue they have recorded a perfect 7 wins. Their goals aggregate of 57 is the HGA’s highest while conceding only 11 goals also gives them the best defensive record. That is the measure of the task awaiting Port. Approaching this testing challenge Port will look to the pluses in their recent run of form. They are undefeated in their last six league games, keeping four clean sheets in the process and picking up 14 points from the last 18 on offer. Graham Boylan’s goal touch has returned finding the net 5 times in 6 games. This improvement will be put to the test on Saturday. The addition this season of former Port player Marc ‘Loggs’ Evans, who has scored 14 goals, to the goals being provided by Paul McManus and Tom Rowlands, also amongst the league’s leading scorers, has increased their strike power to go with the strong defensive unit built around Russell Courtney and Stefan Halewood. Last season Port took four points from two very entertaining league encounters between teams who looked to play a positive, passing game. 27/11/12 Dyddiad newydd / Another fixture change Bydd y gêm rhwng Porthmadog a’r Rhyl, a oedd i’w chwarae ar y Traeth ar 30 Mawrth, bellach yn cael ei chwarae ar Sadwrn, 5 Ionawr ar y Traeth. Yr unig gêm gynghrair arall ar y dyddiad hwn fydd y gêm rhwng Caergybi a Caersws. Bydd gan weddill y clybiau gemau cwpan rhanbarthol. Felly, fel mae’n sefyll ar hyn o bryd, ac os na welwn gemau yn cael eu gohirio, bydd tymor Port yn dod i ben ar 16 Mawrth! Bydd Port yn dal i ymweld â’r Rhyl ddydd Sadwrn nesaf, 1 Rhagfyr am y gêm oddi cartref rhwng y ddau glwb. The game between Porthmadog and Rhyl, which was to have been played at the Traeth on 30 March, has now been switched to Saturday, 5 January at the Traeth. The only other HGA game on that day is that between Holyhead Hotspur and Caersws. Other clubs are involved in regional cup matches on that date. As things currently stand, and if there are no postponements, the season for Port will end on 16 March! This change refers to our home match against Rhyl. Our visit to Rhyl will go ahead this Saturday, 1 December. 24/11/12 Port yn aros yn 8fed / Port stay 8th Mae Port yn aros yn 8fed ar ôl y canlyniad di-sgôr yn erbyn Bwcle y clwb sy’n 7fed ar wahaniaeth goliau. Mae gyda’r ddau glwb ar 18 pwynt. Er fod Port efallai yn ystyried eu hunain yn anlwcus eu bod heb gipio’r tri phwynt mae’n rhaid eu bod yn hapus efo’r 4 pwynt o ddwy gêm anodd oddi cartref. Mae’n rhaid fod y safon a’r ymroddiad a gafodd Gareth Parry gan y chwaraewyr, mewn amgylchiadau chwarae anodd, wedi creu argraff fawr ar unrhyw un a welodd y ddwy gêm yma. Mae 14 o’r 18 pwynt mae Port wedi sicrhau y tymor hwn wedi dod yn y 6 gêm ddiwethaf. A goalless draw against 7th placed Buckley means that Port remain 8th on goal difference, with both clubs on 18 points. Though Port will count themselves unlucky not to have taken all three points they must be pleased with four points from two difficult away games. Anyone who watched these two games cannot fail to be impressed with both the quality and level of commitment manager Gareth Parry has got from the players in difficult playing conditions. The marked turnaround in form has produced 14 points from the last six games. 23/11/12 Gêm ymlaen heno /Game on tonight Bydd y gem heno yn Bwcle ymlaen am 7.30pm. Tonight’s game at Buckley is on following a pitch inspection. 22/11/12 Cynulliad yn adrodd ar UGC / Assembly Reports on WPL Mae adroddiad Pwyllgor y Cymunedau, Cydraddoldeb a Llywodraeth Leol i Uwch Gynghrair Cymru (UGC) wedi’i gyhoeddi. Cadeirydd y pwyllgor ydy Ann Jones AC, cefnogwr brwd o glwb y Rhyl. Yn ogystal a’r brif adroddiad cyhoeddwyd dogfen llai -Crynodeb o’r Prif Argymhellion. Y ddogfen fer hon ydy’r unig un efallai a ddaliodd sylw’r cyfryngau! Yr argymhelliad a gafodd y prif sylw ydy’r un sy’n berthnasol i’r defnydd ehangach o gaeau 3/4G fel rhan o ddatblygu clybiau UGC yn ganolbwynt i’r gymuned. Argymhelliad y Pwyllgor: Dylai Llywodraeth Cymru ddatblygu strategaeth ar gyfer datblygu caeau 3/4G ledled Cymru. Argymhelliad: Dylai Cymdeithas Bêl-droed Cymru ac Awdurdodau Lleol edrych ar gyfleoedd i glybiau Uwch Gynghrair Cymru, sy’n dymuno datblygu’r model canolfan gymunedol, gael cymorth ariannol i ddatblygu caeau 3/4G. Bydd y math yma o ymateb o ddiddordeb i sbectrwm ehangach na chlybiau UGC yn unig. Dylai clybiau’r HGA ac eraill fel Caernarfon sydd am ennill ddyrchafiad, edrych yn ofalus ar yr hyn sydd ar droed er mwyn osgoi’r peryg o Uwch Gynghrair gaeedig gyda’r 12 clwb yn derbyn yr holl nawdd tra fod y gweddill yn edrych ymlaen o’r tu allan. Materion eraill sydd yn codi o’r adroddiad ydy’r berthynas rhwng Cymdeithas Bêl-droed Cymru a Llywodraeth Cymru a’r berthynas rhwng Cymdeithas Bêl-droed Cymru a chlybiau Uwch Gynghrair Cymru. Ond mae’r prif adroddiad yn manylu’n fwy, gan roi rhywfaint o sylw i’r cynghreiriau sy’n bwydo’r UGC ac yn trafod materion fel dyrchafu a gostwng o’r UGC a hefyd ariannu’r academïau. Mae’n siom nad oes unrhyw argymhelliad cryf ynglyn â’r pynciau dadleuol yma. Ond yn sicr mae angen inni edrych yn ofalus ar yr adroddiad hwn ac efallai fydd yn bosib yn y dyfodol agos i ymateb eto yn rhaglen y clwb. The Assembly Committee for Communities, Equalities and Local Government has now published its report on the Welsh Premier League. The committee is headed by Ann Jones AM a self confessed Rhyl FC supporter. As well as the main report it has also published a smaller document which is a Summary of the Main Recommendations. The slimmer document is probably the only one on which much of the media has based its responses! The recommendation which has received most attention is the one concerning the wider use of 3/4G pitches and the development of WPL clubs as community hubs. Recommendation: The Welsh Government should develop a strategy for developing 3/4G pitches across Wales. Recommendation: The FAW and Local Authorities should explore opportunities for WPL clubs wishing to develop the community hub model to seek financial support for the development of 3/4G pitches. This response will be of interest to a wider spectrum of clubs than the WPL clubs alone. HGA clubs and others like Caernarfon Town who are aiming for promotion need to take a keen interest in what might unfold otherwise we might see the ‘haves’ of the WPL continuing to promote a closed shop with the rest looking in from the outside. Other matters which emerge from the report are the relationship between the FAW and the Welsh Government and between the FAW and WPL clubs. The main report however is more detailed and feeder leagues receive some attention with regard to promotion and relegation issues and the financing of academies. It is disappointing however that there are no strong recommendations on these contentious issues. The report deserves attention and it is hoped we can take a more comprehensive look in a match programme in the near future. 21/11/12 Rhagolwg/Preview: Buckley v Port. (Postcode: CH7 3LY) Bydd Port yn teithio i Globe Way, Bwcle am gêm a adrefnwyd i nos Wener nesaf. Gêm fydd hon rhwng 7fed ac 8fed yn y tabl gyda Bwcle ar y blaen oherwydd gwahaniaeth goliau. Cyn i’r tymor gychwyn roedd disgwyl i’r ddau glwb fod ymysg y ceffylau blaen yn yr Huws Gray. Ond siomedig fu perfformiadau’r ddau ar ddechrau’r tymor a felly rhaid brwydro rwan i ddal i fyny. Mae rhediad diweddar Bwcle yn dangos dwy fuddugoliaeth a dwy gêm gyfartal ac yn eu gêm ddiwethaf cyfartal oedd hi yn erbyn Derwyddon Cefn sy’n 3ydd yn y tabl. Cawsant gem gyfartal hefyd yn erbyn y Rhyl, yr unig dro i’r clwb ar ben y tabl fethu ennill. Mae Port heb golli yn y 5 gêm gynghrair ddiwethaf gyda 4 buddugoliaeth ac un gêm gyfartal. Pnawn Sadwrn diwethaf yn Penrhyncoch cafwyd un o’r perfformiadau tîm gorau erstalwm iawn. Yr unig agwedd negyddol oedd y cerdyn coch a ddangoswyd i Grahame Austin, sy’n golygu bydd rhaid iddo fethu tair gêm. Ond y newyddion da oedd fod Rhys Roberts a Josh Banks yn gwella o’u anafiadau. Wrth i Port geisio barhau â’r rhediad da bydd rhaid cofio fod eu record ddiweddar yn erbyn Bwcle ddim yn un dda. Mae’r tîm o Sir Fflint wedi ennill y bedair gêm gynghrair ddiweddaf rhwng y ddau glwb. Gobeithio bydd y rhediad arbennig yna yn dod i ben nos Wener! Port will travel to Globe Way, Buckley on Friday evening for the re-arranged fixture against their mid-table rivals. Buckley are 7th in the table, one place above Port but ahead only on goal difference. Before the season started both Port and Buckley were expected to be among the league front runners. With both clubs having made very disappointing starts to the season they are now playing catch up. Buckley’s form over the last five games shows two wins and two draws with their last outing a goalless draw with 3rd placed Cefn Druids. Their record also shows a home draw with Rhyl, the only blemish on the league leaders otherwise 100% record. Port are unbeaten in their last five league games with four wins and a draw. Last Saturday, at Penrhyncoch, they gave one of their best all round team performances for some considerable time. The only down side to that performance was the straight red card given to key defender Grahame Austin which means he will miss three matches. Pluses however are the return from injury of Rhys Roberts and Josh Banks. But as Port look to continue their run they will be aware that their recent record against Buckley is not good. The Flintshire club have won the last four league encounters between the two clubs. So they will be very keen on Friday, to bring this poor run to an end. 19/11/12 Tomos yn rhestr wrth gefn Cymru / Tomos in Wales stand-by list Mae Osian Roberts wedi enwi carfan o 18 o chwaraewyr Dan-16 ar gyfer gêm olaf Tarian y Fuddugoliaeth yn erbyn Gogledd Iwerddon, nos Wener nesaf, 23 Tachwedd yn Ballymena. Bydd y gêm yn fyw ar Sky, y gic cyntaf am 7.35 pm. Enwyd Tomos Owen chwaraewr canol cae Academi Porthmadog yn y rhestr wrth gefn. O gofio fod pob un o’r 18 yn y garfan yn gysylltiedig â chlybiau proffesiynol, mae Tomos yn haeddu ein llongyfarchiadau a’n dymuniadau gorau. Bore Sul diwethaf roedd y timau Dan-12 a Dan-16 yn chwarae mewn gemau llawn goliau yn erbyn Academi Pentref Llansantffraid. Enillodd y tîm Dan-16 o 5-4 tra colli wnaeth y tîm Dan-12 o 7-4. Am holl newyddion yr Academi cliciwch ar ‘Academi’ yn y Fwydlen. Osian Roberts has named a squad of 18 players for the final U-16 Victory Shield encounter with Northern Ireland in Ballymena next Friday, 23rd November, kick off 7.35pm. The match will be shown live on Sky. Named amongst the stand-by squad is Porthmadog Academy midfielder Tomos Owen. Bearing in mind that all the squad of 18 are associated with professional clubs Tomos deserves to be congratulated on his achievement and we wish him well. On Sunday the U-12s and U-16s were in action in high scoring encounters with Llansantffraid Village Academy. The U-16s were winners by 5-4 while the U-12s went down 7-4. For all Academy news click on ‘Academy’ in the Menu. 18/11/12 Port yn codi un lle / Port up one more place Mae buddugoliaeth dda Port oddi cartref yn Penrhyn-coch yn golygu eu bod yn codi i’r 8fed safle ac ar yr un pwyntiau â Bwcle ei gwrthwynebwyr nesaf. Sicrhawyd 13 o bwyntiau yn y 5 gêm gynghrair ddiwethaf gan ddal i ddringo’r tabl. Graham Boylan arweiniodd y ffordd, yn sgorio ddwywaith a Scott Sephton gyda’i gôl gyntaf dros y clwb a Darren Thomas a gôl hwyr yn sgorio’r lleill. Mae Graham Boylan wedi taro’r targed yn ddiweddar gyda 5 gôl yn y pum gêm gynghrair ddiwethaf. Roedd hwn yn berfformiad o safon gyda pawb yn y tîm yn cyfrannu. The good win away at Penrhyn-coch means that Port are up to 8th place and level on points with their next opponents Buckley Town who have a better goal difference. Collecting 13 points out of the last 15, means that they continue the steady rise up the table. Graham Boylan, who has scored 5 goals in the last five league games, led the way with two goals and there were singles for Scott Sephton -his first for Port- and a late goal from Darren Thomas completed an excellent win. This was a quality all round team performance full of good passing football. 15/11/12 Rhagolwg: v Penrhyncoch / Preview: v Penrhyncoch Ddydd Sadwrn bydd Port yn teithio i Penrhyncoch am gêm sydd bob amser yn un anodd. Mae’r clwb o’r canolbarth un lle ac un pwynt ar y blaen i Port yn y tabl. Y Sadwrn diwethaf, pan oedd Port heb gêm, roedd Penrhyncoch yn wynebu Barri yn ail rownd Cwpan Cymru gan golli o 2-1, gêm lle dderbyniodd ei seren newydd Luke Sherbon gerdyn coch. Y tymor diwethaf cafwyd brwydrau caled rhwng y ddau, gyda’r tîm oddi cartref yn ennill ar y ddau achlysur. Yn y gêm ar Gae Baker sgoriodd Gareth Jones Evans dwy o dair gôl Port, digwyddiad sydd yn ein atgoffa gymaint mae ei chwarae creadigol a chyflym yn cael ei golli, wrth iddo ddal i wella o anaf tymor hir. Yn eu gêm gynghrair ddiwethaf colli oedd hanes Penrhyncoch yn Cefn Mawr o 3-0 tra fydd Port yn awyddus i gywiro camgymeriadau pythefnos yn ôl, a olygodd eu bod yn colli dau o’r pwyntiau yn erbyn Rhydymwyn, a hynny wedi bod ar y blaen gan sgorio tair gôl. Mae gan Penrhyncoch berthynas agos gyda Aberystwyth, eu cymdogion UGC. Rheolwr Penrhyncoch ydy cyn gapten Aber, Gari Lewis, a’r tymor yma mae cyn amddiffynnwr profiadol Aber, Aneurin Thomas, wedi ymuno. On Saturday Port travel to Penrhyncoch, for what is always a difficult fixture. The mid-Wales club are one place and one point above Port in the table. Last Saturday when Port had a day of inaction Penrhyncoch went down 2-1 to Barry Town in the Round 2 of the Welsh Cup and had their new star signing Luke Sherbon red carded for foul play. Last season, in two hard fought contests between the clubs the three points went to the away team on both occasions. In the game at Cae Baker Gareth Jones Evans scored two of Port’s three goals and this is a reminder of how much his pace and creative play is being missed, as he continues his recovery from long term injury. Last time out in the league Penrhyncoch lost 3-0 at Cefn while Port will want to put right the blunders of a fortnight ago which caused them to drop two points at home to Rhydymwyn and that despite scoring three goals. Penrhyncoch have close links with WPL neighbours Aberystwyth and are managed by former Aber captain Gari Lewis. This season they have added experienced former Aber defender Aneurin Thomas to their ranks. 13/11/12 Newid i’r rhaglen gemau / Fixture changes Gydag ond pump o glybiau’r HGA yn sicrhau lle yn y 3edd Rownd o Gwpan Cymru ar 8 Rhagfyr mae Ysgrifennydd y Gynghrair, Chas Rowlands, wedi trefnu rhaglen o 5 o gemau ar gyfer y dyddiad hwnnw. Bydd y gêm rhwng Porthmadog a Bwcle, a oedd i’w chwarae ar 23 Mawrth, rwan yn cael ei chwarae ar y Traeth ar yr 8 Rhagfyr. Bydd hyn yn golygu fod y ddau glwb yn chwarae eu gilydd ddwywaith o fewn pythefnos. Bydd gan y ddau hefyd ddiwrnod rhydd ar 23 Mawrth. Roedd y tymor fod i orffen ar 30 Mawrth ond bellach mae tair gêm wedi’u hadrefnu ar gyfer 6 Ebrill. With only five HGA clubs remaining in the Welsh Cup for the 3rd Round on 8 December, League Secretary Chas Rowlands has arranged a programme of five fixtures for that date. The game between Porthmadog and Buckley which was to have been played on 23 March has now been brought forward to Saturday, 8 December at the Traeth. It also means that Porthmadog and Buckley will play each twice in a fortnight. Both clubs will now have a free date on 23 March. The season was scheduled to end on 30 March but three games have now been re-arranged for 6 April. 11/11/12 Gemau Academi / Academy weekend games Wedi i’w gemau yn erbyn Academi TNS gael eu gohirio ddydd Sul teithiodd Academi Port i Gei Conna. Y tîm cartref enillodd y ddwy gêm. Cewch fwy o fanylion drwy clicio ar Academi yn y fwydlen. After having the games against TNS Academy postponed the Port Academy U12s and U14s travelled to Connah’s Quay on Sunday. Both matches ended in clear victories for the Nomads. Further details can be found by clicking on Academy in the menu. 07/11/12 Phil ar y radio / Phil on the radio Ers ei apêl am i wirfoddolwyr ddod ymlaen i gynorthwyo’r clwb yn enwedig help i gynnal y cae, mae y cadeirydd Phil Jones wedi bod yn ymateb i gwestiynau gan y cyfryngau ynglyn â’r broblem. Cafodd ei holi gan ddwy o rhaglenni Radio Cymru sef ‘Ar y Marc’ a’r ‘Post Prynhawn’. Gobeithio yn wir fydd y sylw yma yn anogaeth i rhai sydd yn gefnogwyr o’r clwb ond heb fod yn rhan o’r grwp o wirfoddolwyr. Fel ddywedodd Phil, “Gall awr neu ddwy wneud gwahaniaeth mawr a does dim rhaid ichi fod yn arbenigwr ar gynnal tir!” Since his appeal for volunteers to come forward to assist the club especially pitch maintenance, club Chairman Phil Jones has been responding to questions from the media regarding the problem. He has been interviewed by Radio Cymru programmes ‘Ar y Marc’ and ‘Y Post Prynhawn’. Let’s hope that the attention the matter has received will encourage some who though regular supporters of the club have not yet become involved as a volunteer. As Phil said, “A couple of hours each week could make all the difference and you don’t need to be a horticultural expert!” 06/11/12 Apêl am wybodaeth gan Gerallt Owen/ Gerallt Owen requests information Apeliodd Gerallt Owen, hanesydd y clwb, yn y rhaglen bnawn Sadwrn am wybodaeth ynglyn â David Williams, cyn chwaraewr dros Port. Chwaraeodd i’r clwb yn ystod y 1970au hwyr a’r 1980au cynnar. O ddiddordeb arbennig amdano ydy’r ffaith mai David Williams ydy tad Owain Fôn Williams golwr presennol Tranmere Rovers a Chymru sydd yn mwynhau tymor arbennig gyda chlwb sydd yn hedfan yn uchel yng Nghynghrair 1 yn Lloegr, ac wedi’i gynnwys yng ngharfan Cymru ar gyfer y gemau diweddar yn erbyn yr Alban a Serbia. Os ydych yn gwybod yr union dymhorau a chwaraeodd David Williams dros Port byddai’n dda gan Gerallt glywed gennych. Club historian Gerallt Owen made an appeal, in Saturday’s match programme, for information regarding a former Port player David Williams. He played for Port in the late1970s or early 1980s.Of special interest is that David Williams is the father of Owain Fôn Williams, the current Tranmere Rovers and Wales goalkeeper, who has been enjoying an excellent season with the League 1 highflyers and was included in the Wales squad for the recent qualifiers with Scotland and Serbia. If anyone can confirm the exact seasons David Williams played for Port, then Gerallt would be very pleased to hear from you. 05/11/12 Port yn aros yn 9fed / Port stay ninth Yn dilyn eu gêm ar y Traeth ddydd Sadwrn mae Port yn aros yn y 9fed safle. Doedd gêm gyfartal ddim yn ddigon i godi’n uwch yn y tabl. Roedd yn siomedig iawn i sgorio tair gôl adref a dal i fethu ennill. Cymrodd Ryan Davies ei gyfle’n dda tra roedd y ddwy gôl arall yn dilyn symudiadau ardderchog yn agor y gwrthwynebwyr. Yn anffodus nid oedd agweddau eraill o’r gêm yn ddigon da gyda Port yn colli’r bêl yn rhy aml. Gyda 11 o glybiau’r HGA yn chwarae yn Rownd 2 o Gwpan Cymru does na ddim gemau cynghrair y penwythnos hwn. Felly bydd rhaid i Port aros am bythefnos cyn cael cyfle i ddringo’n mhellach i fyny’r tabl -gyda ymweliad a Penrhyncoch ddim yn gêm hawdd. Diddorol sylwi fod dau berfformiad gorau Port wedi dod oddi cartref yn Fflint a Penycae, ac maent hefyd wedi sicrhau 7 pwynt ar eu teithiau ac yr un fath ar y Traeth. Following Saturday’s game at home Port remain in 9th place. A draw at home to Rhydymwyn was not enough to continue the climb up the table. It was disappointing to score three good goals at home and yet end up failing to win. A good opportunist goal from Ryan Davies was followed by two well taken goals from good sweeping moves which opened up the opposition. Unfortunately other parts of the Port game were not so good with the ball being given away far too frequently. With 11 HGA clubs playing in the Round 2 of the Welsh Cup there are no league matches this weekend so Port will have to wait a fortnight for their next opportunity to climb the table and a visit to Penrhyncoch is never an easy fixture. Interesting to note however that Port’s two best performances, at Flint and Penycae, have come away from home and they have picked 7 points from away games and the same at home. 01/11/12 Rhagolwg/ Preview: v Rhydymwyn Yn ôl at y gynghrair ddydd Sadwrn gyda Rhydymwyn yn ymweld â’r Traeth. Mae’r clwb o Sir Fflint un pwynt ac un lle yn is na Port yn y 10fed safle. Eu record ydy ennill tair a cyfartal mewn tair o’u un ar ddeg gêm. Yn eu gêm gynghrair ddiwethaf colli oedd eu hanes a hynny’n drwm o 6-0 adref i’r Derwyddon sy’n ail yn y tabl. Gwnaeth Rhydymwyn, fel Port, golli yng Nghwpan Huws Gray y Sadwrn diwethaf a hynny o 2-1 yn erbyn Llandudno a gafodd fuddugoliaeth hefyd dros Port yng Nghwpan Cymru. Cymysg fu canlyniadau Rhydymwyn eleni gan golli o bum gôl ym mhob un o’u tair gêm ar ddechrau’r tymor a wedyn yr un fath yn erbyn y Rhyl hefyd. Ond eu canlyniad mwyaf annisgwyl oedd colli o bump yn erbyn Waterloo Rovers, o gynghrair y Canolbarth, yng Nghwpan Cymru. Anghyson fu eu record gan iddynt hefyd sgorio pump yn y fuddugoliaeth dros Penrhyncoch a wedyn cael gemau cyfartal yn erbyn Conwy a Bwcle. Daeth eu buddugoliaethau eraill y tymor hwn wrth guro Rhaeadr a Llandudno. Mae Rhydymwyn wedi colli eu prif sgoriwr sef Dan Drazauskas a sgoriodd 8 gôl iddynt cyn i’r Rhyl nodi ei dalent a bellach mae wedi symud i’r Belle Vue. Rhaid i Port, wedi’r colled yng Nghaersws, geisio parhau a’u rhediad diweddar yn y gynghrair a sicrhau y bedwerydd buddugoliaeth yn olynol gan barhau i ddringo’r tabl. On Saturday, Port return to league action when the visitors to the Traeth will be Rhydymwyn who are currently one place and one point below Port in the table in 10th place having won three and drawn three of their 11 matches. Last time out in the league they went down to a heavy 6-0 defeat on their own ground to 2nd placed Cefn Druids. Like Port, Rhydymwyn went out of the Huws Gray Cup last Saturday going down 2-1 at home to Llandudno the club who coincidentally put Port out of the Welsh Cup. Rhydymwyn have had a mixed bag of results this season conceding five goals in each of their first three league matches and then conceding five again at Rhyl and perhaps most surprisingly of all another five in the Welsh Cup Round One tie against Spar Mid-Wales club, Waterloo Rovers. But as a mark of their inconsistency they then went on to score five themselves in a 5-1 victory over Penrhyncoch, never easy opponents, and held both Buckley and Conwy Borough to drawn games.. The other wins achieved this season were both at home over Rhayader and Llandudno. The Flintshire club have recently lost forward Daniel Drazdauskas, a player who scored 8 goals for them in early season games. Unfortunately for Rhydymwyn his talent has been spotted by league leaders Rhyl and the player has now signed for the Belle Vue club. Port must bounce back after the defeat at Caersws and aim to extend their run of straight league wins to four and continue their climb up the table. 28/10/12 Argyfwng cynnal y cae / Ground maintenance crisis Mae’r argyfwng, sydd wedi bod ar y gorwel ers cryn amser, bellach yn taro a chlwb Porthmadog yn wynebu problem. Pwy sydd yn mynd i sicrhau fod y Traeth yn cael ei baratoi ar gyfer gemau? Mae Phil Jones, cadeirydd Port, wedi dweud yn bendant “Os nad oes neb yn dod ymlaen, ni fydd yn bosib imi ddal ati. Bydd yn rhaid imi rhoi’r gorau i’r gwaith.” Dywedodd Phil, “Eisoes gwnaed sawl apêl am gymorth ond does neb wedi dod ymlaen. Ond y tro yma mae’n rhaid i rywbeth newid. Nid job i un ydy hon bellach a nid wyf yn barod i barhau. Nid blyff ydy hwn ond ffaith.” Ychwanegodd Phil fod y llwyth gwaith bellach yn amhosib. Ers dyfodiad y ffordd osgoi mae’r cae yn llawer gwlypach ac mae’r tywydd eithriadol o wlyb wedi ychwanegu at y broblem. Yn ogystal a gemau cynghrair bu gêm ryngwladol Dan-16 ar y Traeth a hefyd gemau Academi Dan-16. Mae’r nifer o oriau sydd angen i ail osod tyweirch –rhai tyllau yn 9 modfedd o ddyfnder - a dod a’r cae yn ôl i safon derbyniol wedi cynyddu yn sylweddol. “Bu Tudor Owen yn gymorth mawr imi,” meddai Phil, “ond bellach mae Tudor wedi gorfod rhoi’r gorau i’r gwaith ac rwyf wedi bod yn gwneud y cyfan fy hun.” “Yng nghanol dirwasgiad,” meddai Phil, “rhaid imi rhoi fwy o sylw i’r busnes a bellach nid yw’n bosib imi roi yr un math o ymrwymiad. Diolch i Ian Foulkes sy’n marcio’r cae a pharatoi’r stafelloedd newid ond byddai’n gwbl annheg gofyn iddo wneud mwy ac mae’n siwr fod yna rhai ieuengach y medrai helpu.” Mae’n cymryd 8-12 awr o waith, ac yn amlwg felly rhaid cael mwy o help. Ond os byddai CHWECH o gefnogwyr yn dod ymlaen am UN awr yn syth ar ôl gêm byddai’r broblem mwy neu lai wedi’i setlo. Nid yw hyn yn ofyn mawr. Mae pawb wrth ei bodd gyda safon y Traeth ac mae’n rhaid felly fod chwech o bobl allan yna sy’n barod i rhoi UN awr o’u hamser i sicrhau fod hyn yn parhau. Os nad ar ôl y gêm beth am awr rhywbryd arall? Cysylltwch gyda Phil yn Kaleidoscope neu dewch i’r cae ar ddiwedd y gêm yn erbyn Rhydymwyn ar 3 Tachwedd. Mae clwb fel hwn yn ddibynnol ar wirfoddolwyr a mae’n rhaid fod yna chwech allan yna sydd yn poeni digon am ddyfodol y clwb. The crisis that has been on the horizon for some time has now struck and Port face a serious problem. Who is going to put in the hours needed to ensure that the pitch at the Traeth has been satisfactorily prepared? Port chairman Phil Jones has issued an ultimatum saying, “If no one comes forward to help me then it is impossible for me to continue. I shall have to give up my duties as groundsman.” Phil says, “We have made several previous appeals for help but these have not met with any response. But I am afraid that this time things have come to a head. If no one comes forward then I will no longer be able to continue. It is no longer a one-man job. I am not bluffing this is a statement of fact.” Phil says that his workload has become impossible. Since the coming of the by-pass the pitch is much wetter and the extremely wet weather this year has also taken its toll. In addition to league games there has been a U-16 international and the Academy U16s also play on the Traeth. The number of man hours required replacing divots -some of them 9 inches deep- and to bring the Traeth back to an acceptable standard after a game has increased considerably. He adds “Tudor Owen has helped me considerably and I am very grateful for his support but this season Tudor has had to pull out and I have been doing the work myself.” “We are in the midst of a recession and I have to give more time to my business,” he adds, “and I can no longer make the kind of commitment I have been making. Ian Foulkes marks the pitch and clears the dressing rooms and it would be unfair to ask him to do more and surely there are younger people who could lend a hand.” It takes 8-12 hours and obviously more help is needed. However if 6 people were to come forward for ONE HOUR immediately after a game then the problem to a large extent would be solved. This does not seem to be a huge ask. We all like to see the Traeth looking at its best so there must be out there 6 people who would be prepared to give up one hour of time to make sure that this can continue. If not immediately after the match what about at another convenient time? Please contact Phil at Kaleidoscope or just come forward, for it would be great to see SIX volunteers on the pitch immediately after the Rhydymwyn game on 3 November. A strong band of volunteers is the lifeblood of any club and there are surely SIX who value their club sufficiently to come forward. |
