14/05/13 Anrhydeddu cyn seren Port / Former Port star honoured Llongyfarchiadau i Dave Taylor, y diweddaraf i gael ei gyflwyno i Oriel Anfarwolion Uwch Gynghrair Cymru. Rhoddwyd Cynghrair Cymru yn gadarn ar fap Ewrop gan Dave wrth iddo sgorio 43 o goliau i CPD Porthmadog yn nhymor 1993/94. Dywed gwefan Sgorio’ amdano fel hyn, “Tra ar Y Traeth llwyddodd Taylor i ddilyn ôl traed chwaraewyr fel Eusebio, Gerd Muller a Marco van Basten fel sgoriwr goliau mwyaf toreithiog holl gynghreiriau Ewrop. Sicrhaodd ei le yn y llyfrau hanes fel yr ail Gymro erioed, ar ôl Ian Rush, i gipio gwobr Esgid Aur cylchgrawn L’Equipe fel prif sgoriwr Ewrop ar ôl iddo rwydo 43 yn nhymor 1993/94. “Ar ôl gadael Port, chwaraeodd dros nifer o glybiau yn yr Uwch Gynghrair ac er iddo rwydo sawl gôl arbennig, tymor euraidd 93/94 ar y Traeth sy’n sicrhau ei le ymysg yr anfarwolion.” Neithiwr, ar rhaglen wythnosol ‘Sgorio’, wrth iddo gael ei wobrwyo gan ei gyn bartner ar y Traeth, Marc Lloyd Williams, dywedodd Dave, “Ym Mhorthmadog cefais rhai o’r amserau gorau, pobl dda a groesawodd y teulu, cyfnod da iawn. Roedd yn dîm gwerth chweil i chwarae ynddo.” Congratulations to Dave Taylor who is the latest inductee to the Welsh Premier League’s Hall of Fame. Dave put the League of Wales firmly on the map of European football when he scored 43 goals for Porthmadog FC in season 1993/94. The ‘Sgorio’ website says of him, “He followed in the illustrious footsteps of players like Eusebio, Gerd Muller and Marco van Basten as the top scorer in all of the European football leagues. He ensured his place in history as only the second Welshman, after Ian Rush, to clinch French football magazine, L’Equipe’s Golden Boot after scoring 43 goals in the 1993/94 season. “After leaving Port he played for several clubs in the Welsh Premier League but despite several spectacular goals, he will always be remembered for the golden season of 93/94 at the Traeth.” Last night, on the weekly ‘Sgorio’ programme, when receiving his award from former partner in crime Marc Lloyd Williams, Dave said, “Some of the best times were at Porthmadog, lovely people looked after me and made the family welcome, really good times. It was a really enjoyable team to play in.” 12/05/13 Llanidloes yn ennill dyrchafiad / Llanidloes secure promotion Ymunodd Llanidloes â Chaernarfon ac ennill dyrchafiad i’r HGA ar gyfer y tymor nesaf. Sicrhaodd Llanidloes bencampwriaeth y Canolbarth gyda buddugoliaeth o 3-1, ddydd Sadwrn, dros eu prif wrthwynebwyr Trefaldwyn. Y Waun enillodd bencampwriaeth Ardal Wrecsam yn gorffen o flaen Y Wyddgrug ond mae ychydig o amheuaeth a fyddant y derbyn y cynnig am ddyrchafiad. Os fydd hynny’n wir bydd rhaid aros am benderfyniad ynglyn a sefyllfa’r Wyddgrug sydd hefyd wedi gwneud cais am ddyrchafiad. Erbyn hyn mae rhaglen Huws Gray am y tymor hwn wedi dod i ben a hyn chwe wythnos ar ôl i Port chwarae eu gêm olaf! Lle fuon nhw gyd mor hir ’dwch? I Port roedd gorffen yn 9fed yn lwyddiant o fath gan ystyried y cychwyn simsan a gafwyd a wedyn y newidiadau yng nghanol tymor. Ond mae’r ail adeiladu a arweiniodd at rhediad hwyr yn rhoi gobaith at y tymor nesaf. Mae’r Derwyddon yn ail teilwng i Rhyl y pencampwyr diguro. Llanrhaeadr a Rhuthun fydd yn disgyn allan o’r HGA tra fod Rhydymwyn yn debygol o oroesi er waethaf gorffen yn y trydydd safle o’r gwaelod. Llanidloes Town have joined Caernarfon Town in being promoted to the Huws Gray Alliance for next season. Llanidloes were declared Spar Mid-Wales champions following their 3-1 win over nearest rivals Montgomery Town on Saturday. Chirk AAA have won the Wrexham Area title ahead of Mold Alexandra but there remains speculation as to whether they will take up the opportunity for promotion. Then a decision will have to be made regarding second placed Alex who have also applied for promotion. The Huws Gray programme is now complete six weeks after Port played their season’s last! How has it taken them all so long? For Port finishing in 9th place was a minor success considering the poor start and mid-season upheaval. The rebuilding which followed brought a belated good run which gives hope for next season. Cefn Druids are worthy runners up to Rhyl the unbeaten champions. Llanrhaeadr and Ruthin will drop out of the HGA while Rhydymwyn look set to survive despite ending in the third relegation spot. 10/05/13 Diweddariad gemau cyfeillgar / Update pre-season matches Ychwanegwyd gêm oddi cartref yn y Gaerwen at rhestr y gemau cyn dymor. Dyma ddiweddariad o’r gemau sydd wedi’u trefnu hyd yma: Sadwrn, 13 Gorffennaf (oddi cartref) Gaerwen Sadwrn, 20 Gorffennaf (Adref) Bala am 2.30pm Sadwrn, 27 Gorffennaf (oddi cartref) Treffynnon Nos Fawrth, 30 Gorffennaf (oddi cartref) Rhyl am 7.45pm Sadwrn, 3 Awst (oddi cartref) Bermo An away fixture at Gaerwen has been added to the list of pre-season friendlies. Here is an update of the pre-season games which have been lined-up so far: Saturday 13 July Away at Gaerwen Saturday 20 July Home to Bala Town (2.30pm) Saturday 27 July Away at Holywell Town Tuesday 30 July Away at Rhyl (7.45pm) Saturday 3 August Away at Barmouth 08/05/13 Llongyfarchiadau i’r Cofis / Our congratulations to the Cofis Estynnwn ein longyfarchiadau i’n cymdogion Caernarfon sydd wedi ennill pencampwriaeth y Welsh Alliance a sicrhau dyrchafiad i Gynghrair Huws Gray ar gyfer 2013/14. Bydd cefnogwyr y ddau glwb yn edrych ymlaen yn arw at ail afael yn y gemau darbi lleol ar y Traeth a’r Oval y tymor nesaf. Mae gweddill materion dyrchafu a gostwng yn aros yn aneglur. Mae’n debygol iawn mai Llanidloes fydd yn dod i fyny o Cynghrair Spar y Canolbarth tra fod Y Waun a’r Wyddgrug yn brwydro am ddyrchafiad o Gynghrair Ardal Wrecsam. Rhuthun a Llanrhaeadr fydd yn gwneud lle i dau o’r clybiau sy’n dod fyny. Gyda’r Rhyl yn adennill ei lle yn Uwch Gynghrair Cymru a’r un clwb o’r gogledd yn dod i lawr mae’n edrych yn annhebygol fydd trydydd clwb yn colli ei lle yn yr HGA. We extend our warmest congratulations to neighbours Caernarfon Town who, as recently crowned champions of the Welsh Alliance, have become the first club to gain promotion to the Huws Gray Alliance for 2013/14. Supporters will be looking forward to resuming local derbies at the Traeth and the Oval next season. The rest of the promotion and relegation matters remain unclear. Llanidloes look very likely to be promoted from the Spar Mid Wales League while it appears between Chirk AAA and Mold Alex in the Wrexham Area League. Ruthin and Llanrhaeadr will make way for two of the promoted clubs but with Rhyl gaining promotion to the WPL and no northern club being relegated it seems unlikely that a third club will lose their place in the HGA. 06/05/13 Enillwyr Tote Ebrill / April Tote Winners Y rhifau lwcus yn Tote Mis Ebrill oedd 08 a 30. Roedd y 3 enillydd yn rhannu y wobr £300, J.W. Roberts, Y Ffor, G. Owen, Prenteg a E.W. Jones, Blaenau Ffestiniog. Bydd y rhifau ar gyfer Tote Mis Mai yn cael eu tynnu nos Wener 31 Mai, yn sesiwn Bingo Clwb Cymdeithasol C.P.D. Porthmadog yn Y Ganolfan. The winning numbers in the Porthmadog Football Social Club Monthly Tote for April were 08 and 30. There were 3 winners sharing the prize £300, J.W. Roberts, Y Ffor, G. Owen, Prenteg and E.W. Jones, Blaenau Ffestiniog. The May Tote will be drawn on Friday 31st May at the weekly Bingo at Y Ganolfan. 04/05/13 Ail Dîm –y paratoi yn cychwn / Reserves –work in progress Fel mae pawb yn gwybod bydd gan CPD Porthmadog ail dîm yn Uwchgynghrair Ail Dimau Gogledd Cymru yn 2013/14. Rheolwr y tîm fydd Neil Roberts a gafodd amser llwyddiannus iawn gyda hogiau Dan-16 yr Academi yn ystod y tymor diwethaf. Dywedodd Neil, sy’n brysur yn paratoi ar gyfer y tymor newydd, “ Pwrpas carfan yr ail dîm fydd cynnig cyfleoedd i chwaraewyr ifanc, sydd wedi chwarae ar lefel academi, i ddatblygu a symud ymlaen i’r tîm cyntaf.” Ychwanegodd, “Y bwriad ydy adeiladu carfan o chwaraewyr fydd o Dan-19 yn bennaf.” Yn 2012/13 roedd 11 clwb yn Uwchgynghrair Ail Dimau Gogledd Cymru. Roedd yn cynnwys ail dimau Bangor, Prestatyn a Cei Conna o UGC; Rhyl, Conwy, Llandudno a Fflint o’r Huws Gray: a clybiau uchelgeisiol Caernarfon a Dinbych o’r Welsh Alliance. Dylai chwaraewyr ifanc sydd a diddordeb yn y sialens gysylltu â Neil Roberts, rheolwr yr Ail Dîm, ar yr e-bost port.reserves@yahoo.co.uk Mwy o newyddion am ymarfer i ddilyn. It has already been reported that Porthmadog FC will be entering a team in the North Wales Reserve League for 2013/14 and that Neil Roberts, who took charge of last season’s highly successful Academy U16s, will manage the reserves. Neil is already actively preparing for the new season and says, “The aim of the reserves squad is to provide opportunities for players who have played at academy level the chance to progress their development with the club, and to bridge the gap between the academy and first team.” He adds, “It is intended that the squad will be mainly made up of players in the Under 19 age group.” The North Wales Reserve Premier League in the 2012/13 season had 11 clubs. It included the reserves of WPL clubs; Bangor City, Prestatyn and Connah’s Quay Nomads, Huws Gray clubs; Rhyl, Conwy, Llandudno and Flint and ambitious Welsh Alliance clubs like Caernarfon and Denbigh Town. Young players interested in the challenge should contact the Porthmadog Reserve team manager Neil Roberts – e-mail port.reserves@yahoo.co.uk More news on training will follow. 30/04/13 Dwy gêm cyn dymor arall wedi eu trefnu / Two more pre-season fixtures announced Clwb Bermo a Dyffryn fydd y gwrthwynebwyr ar bnawn Sadwrn, 3 Awst â hyn yn dilyn gemau sydd eisoes wedi’u trefnu yn erbyn Y Bala a’r Rhyl. Chwaraewyd gêm gyfeillgar rhwng y ddau glwb ar y Traeth ym mis Chwefror pan gafodd y ddau eu hunain a Sadwrn rhydd. Port enillodd y gêm honno o 2-0.Cyn hyn bydd Port oddi cartref yn Nhreffynnon ar bnawn Sadwrn, 27 Gorffennaf. Following on fixtures already announced against Bala Town and Rhyl FC, Port will visit Barmouth on Saturday, 3 August. Bydd Y Bala yn ymweld â’r Traeth ar bnawn Sadwrn, 20 Gorffennaf gyda’r gic gyntaf am 2.30pm. Manager Gareth Parry continues his preparations for the 2013/14 season with another fixture against strong opposition. WPL club Bala Town will be the visitors to the Traeth on Saturday, 20 July with a 2.30pm kick off. 20/04/13 Rhyl yn bencampwyr / Rhyl are champions Llongyfarchiadau i’n cyfeillion yn y Rhyl sydd heddiw wedi cadarnhau yn swyddogol yr hyn sydd wedi bod yn hollol amlwg ers misoedd, y nhw ydy pencampwyr Cynghrair Huws Gray yn 2012/13.Wrth aros yn ddiguro ar ôl 27 o gemau maent wedi rhedeg i ffwrdd â’r gynghrair, gyda ond pedwar clwb, Bwcle, Porthmadog, Caergybi a Llandudno yn llwyddo i gymryd pwyntiau oddi arnynt yn ystod y tymor. Gan eu bod eisoes wedi sicrhau Trwydded Ddomestig byddant yn adennill eu lle yn UGC a bydd y gynghrair honno yn ennill clwb sydd â chefnogaeth dda a chlwb sydd wedi gwreiddio yn y gymuned ers degawdau. Dymuniadau gorau iddynt at y tymor nesaf. Congratulations to our friends at Rhyl who finally made official what has been more than obvious for months, they are 2012/13 champions of the Huws Gray Alliance. Still unbeaten after 27 games they have been runaway winners with only Buckley, Porthmadog, Holyhead and Llandudno managing to take points from them during the season. With the Domestic Licence already confirmed they will now regain their place in the WPL and the senior domestic league will gain a well supported, well rooted community club. We wish them well for next season. 17/04/13 Gareth yn paratoi am y tymor newydd / Gareth prepares for next season Gyda bron i bythefnos o dymor Cynghrair Undebol Huws Gray yn dal i’w chwarae i rai clybiau, ac enwau’r pencampwyr yn dal i’w cadarnhau, mae Gareth Parry yn barod wrthi’n paratoi am y tymor nesaf. Mae wedi trefnu gêm yn erbyn y Rhyl ar y Belle Vue ar 30 Gorffennaf, gyda’r gic gyntaf am 7.45pm. Mae’n debygol iawn y bydd Rhyl erbyn hynny’n glwb Uwch Gynghrair Cymru unwaith eto – gallai’r statws hwnnw gael ei gadarnhau heno (nos Fercher), os bydd Derwyddon Cefn yn methu sicrhau pwynt yn erbyn Cegidfa. With nearly a fortnight of the current Huws Gray Alliance League campaign yet to play for some clubs, and the names of the champions yet to be confirmed, Gareth Parry is already getting prepared for next season. He has arranged a pre-season friendly against Rhyl on the Belle Vue on 30 July, with kick off at 7.45pm. It’s highly likely Rhyl will by then have regained their Welsh Premier League status – that status could be confirmed tonight (Wednesday night), if Cefn Druids fail to secure a point against Guilsfield. 14/04/13 Diolch i hyfforddwyr yr Academi / Thanks to the Academy Boot room Daeth tymor arall llwyddiannus i ben yn yr Academi ac yn wobr haeddiannol i allu a gwaith caled y chwaraewyr ifanc. Ond yn ôl yr arfer ni fu llwyddiant heb waith hynod o galed tu ôl i’r llenni gan grwp bychan o weithwyr dygn. Mae Eddie Blackburn wedi’n hatgoffa o hyn gan ddweud, “Mae ar y clwb ddyled fawr i dri o bobl a wnaeth gynnal yr Academi dros y tymor diwethaf. Gweithiodd Hefin Owen, Neil Roberts a Martin Jones yn ddiflino i sicrhau fod yr Academi yn parhau ac yn datblygu.” Ychwanegodd, “Mae wedi’i ddweud droeon na dderbyniodd yr Academi unrhyw arian wrth y Gymdeithas Bêl-droed nac o Ewrop ac mae’r bobl yma wedi gweithio’n wirfoddol heb hyd yn oed gymryd y costau sy’n ddyledus iddynt. Rwy’n gwybod o brofiad y byddant allan o boced dros y tymor.” Un arall a welodd gynnydd sylweddol yn ei lwyth gwaith oedd ysgrifennydd y clwb, Gerallt Owen ac meddai Eddie yn dweud amdano, “Er inni dibynnu cymaint arno ni adawodd ni lawr. Diolch yr hen fêt.” I’r chwaraewr ifanc mae ganddo hefyd air, “Ar ran CPD Porthmadog diolch yn fawr ichi hogiau mae wedi bod yn bleser gweithio efo chi. Edrychwn ymlaen at ddyfodol sydd mewn dwylo da.” Un ar ôl i ddiolch sef wrth gwrs Eddie ei hun am ei gyfraniad sylweddol iawn i ddatblygiad yr Academi dros nifer o flynyddoedd. It has been another highly successful season for the Academy and is a deserved reward for the skill and hard work of the young players. But as ever, nothing is ever achieved without some remarkably unselfish work behind the scenes by a small band of dedicated workers. Eddie Blackburn has sent us a timely reminder of just this “The Club owes a very big debt to the three people, he says, who kept the Academy going this last season. Hefin Owen, Neil Roberts and Martin Jones have worked tirelessly, sometimes against the odds, to make sure that the Academy survived and will progress.” Adding, “It has been repeatedly stressed the Academy received no FAW or European funding and these people have worked voluntarily sometimes without even claiming the expenses due to them. I know from experience that will be out of pocket over the season.” Another who has accepted an increased workload is club secretary Gerallt Owen and Eddie says, “I have relied on him a lot and he has never once turned us down. Thanks mate.” To the young players he adds, “On behalf of the Porthmadog Football Club may I say Thank You very much lads, it's been a pleasure working with you. Here's to the Future which it seems, is in good hands. That leaves one more person to thank and that of course is Eddie himself whose contribution over the years to the development of the Academy has been immense. 13/04/13 Gerallt Ar y Marc / Gerallt on the radio Roedd Gerallt Owen, ysgrifennydd Port, ar y rhaglen drafod pêl-droed ‘Ar y Marc’ ar Radio Cymru, heddiw. Cafodd ei holi ynglyn a bwriad Port i apwyntio Cyfarwyddwr Academi newydd. Yn ogystal a chyfle da i rhoi cyhoeddusrwydd i’r rôl holl bwysig hon, cymrodd Gerallt y cyfle hefyd i danlinellu’r ffaith fod clybiau fel Port a Llandudno yn derbyn dim cefnogaeth ariannol tuag at ei hacademïau tra fod clybiau UGC ar y llaw arall yn derbyn tal blynyddol o £18.000 yr un. Anffodus efallai na ofynnodd y cyflwynydd Dylan Jones i un arall o’i westeion Osian Roberts Cyfarwyddwr yr Ymddiriedolaeth Bêl-droed am ei farn! Gyda un arall o gyn rheolwyr Port, Meilir Owen, yn ymuno â Osian yn y stiwdio roedd tipyn o ddylanwad Portaidd ar y sioe. Hefyd yn cymryd rhan yn y trafod am academïau roedd Dewi Llion, cyfarwyddwr Academi’r Bala. Port secretary Gerallt Owen was amongst those taking part in the football discussion programme ‘Ar y Marc’ on Radio Cymru, today. He was being quizzed on Port’s search for an Academy Director. As well as being a good opportunity to publicise this key role, Gerallt did not miss the opportunity to press the point that while WPL clubs receive £18,00 each annually to operate their clubs’ academies, others like Port and Llandudno, who also work hard to provide a high standard of coaching, receive nothing. It was perhaps unfortunate that presenter Dylan Jones did not ask studio guest and Welsh Football Trust Director Osian Roberts for his views on the discrepancy! With another former manager, Meilir Owen, also joining Osian Roberts in the studio it was something of a Port orientated programme. Dewi Llion, Director of the Bala Academy, also took part in the spot on Academies. 09/04/13 Llongyfarchiadau Richard / Congratulations Richard Pan gychwynnodd Richard Harvey y gêm pnawn Sadwrn yn Rhydymwyn roedd yn cwblhau y record ardderchog o gychwyn pob gêm gystadleuol dros Port y tymor hwn. Llongyfarchiadau i Richard gan gofio mai fo –ar wahân i’r hyfforddwr Merfyn Williams- ydy’r unig golwr yn y garfan. Mae hyn dangos cymaint oedd dibyniaeth y clwb ar ei ffitrwydd a’i gysondeb. Yn ôl y record ar wefan swyddogol Huws Gray, Richard ydy’r unig chwaraewyr yn y gynghrair i ddechrau pob un o’r 30 o gemau cynghrair am 2012/13. Hefyd chwaraeodd mewn tair gêm gwpan. Rhaid hefyd cydymdeimlo â Richard gan iddo orfod methu 45 munud olaf y tymor. Tra’n cynhesu ar gyfer yr ail hanner yn Rhydymwyn teimlodd blwc yn ei gefn a’i adawodd mewn poen ac heb fedru cwblhau’r gêm. Nid yw’n amlwg eto pa mor ddifrifol ydy’r anaf ond mae pryder yn codi o’r ffaith ei fod eisoes yn dioddef â phroblem gyda’i glun. Dymunwn yn dda i Richard gan obeithio caiff yr anaf ei thrin yn llwyddiannus dros yr haf. ON: Profodd Merfyn Williams yn ddirprwy diogel yn ystod yr ail hanner, ond bydd yn rhyddhad iddo mae’n siwr fod yna ail dîm y tymor nesaf a felly golwr ychwanegol ar gael hefyd. When Richard Harvey started last Saturday’s game at Rhydymwyn he completed a record of having started every competitive game for Port this season. Congratulations are very much in order and bearing in mind the fact that he is -apart from club coach Merfyn Williams- the only keeper in the squad, it goes to show the extent of Port’s reliance on his fitness and consistency. According to player records on the official Huws Gray website he is the only player in the league to have started every one of the 30 league games in 2012/13. He has also played in three cup ties. We however also commiserate with Richard as he was forced out of the final 45 minutes of the season. When warming up for the second half at Rhydymwyn, Richard felt a sudden back pull which left him in agony and unable to continue. The extent and seriousness of the injury is not known at the moment but concern arises from the fact that he suffers from an existing hip problem. We wish Richard well and hope that the injury can be sorted over the summer. PS: Merfyn Williams proved an able deputy during the second half but he will no doubt be relieved that next season a reserve team will provide extra goalkeeping cover. 07/04/13 Tymor gwych yr Academi drosodd / U-16s super season ends Ynghynt y bore yma methu ail adrodd y fuddugoliaeth dros Academi TNS oedd hanes yr hogiau Dan-16. Y tro yma TNS oedd yn fuddugol o 3-0. Er waethaf canlyniad heddiw bu’r tymor hwn yn un i bawb sydd a chysylltiad â’r Academi –chwaraewyr, hyfforddwyr a gweinyddwyr- fod yn hynod falch ohono. Mae eu record cynghrair cyn heddiw yn dweud y cyfan: Chwarae-12, Ennill-10, Cyfartal-1 a Colli-1. Dyma uchafbwynt tymor y clwb eleni. Pan ystyriwch eu bod yn chwarae i Academi sydd ddim yn derbyn un iot o gefnogaeth ariannol ac eto yn gorfod cystadlu gyda academïau clybiau Uwch Gynghrair Cymru sy’n cael cefnogaeth ariannol o £18,000 y flwyddyn, yna y dechreuwch werthfawrogi maint eu camp eleni. Anodd ydy deall sut mae’r Gymdeithas a’r Ymddiriedolaeth Bêl-droed yn barod i ganiatáu y fath annhegwch. Llongyfarchiadau i’r hogiau ar dymor rhagorol, a gobeithio y medrwn fel clwb ddechrau elwa hefyd, gyda rhai o’r chwaraewyr ifanc talentog yma yn chwarae y tymor nesaf i’r ail dîm a hefyd dros y clwb yng Nghwpan Ieuenctid Cymru yn 2013/14. Ymlaen ac i fyny! The U-16s failed to repeat their recent victory over the TNS Academy in this morning’s northern semi-final of the Welsh Academies Cup. This time the TNS Academy were winners by 3-0. Irrespective of today’s result this has been a season which all associated with the Academy - players, coaches and administrators- can feel justifiably proud. Their league playing record prior to today speaks for itself; Played -12 Won-10 Drawn-1 Lost-1. This has been an especially bright spot in the club’s season. When you consider that they have played for a Port Academy which receives not a cent of financial support and yet have been competing with WPL Academies subsidised to the tune of £18,000 a season, you really begin to appreciate the scale of their achievement. It is hard to understand that the FAW and the Welsh Football Trust can continue to ignore such an unacceptable case of inequality. Congratulations on a super season lads and let’s hope we as a club begin to reap the benefit very shortly with some of these talented youngsters playing next season for our newly formed reserves and also representing Port in the2013/14 Welsh Youth Cup .Onward and upward! 06/04/13 Pob Lwc Hogiau / Best of luck Academy U-16s Bore yfory (07/04/13) am 11am bydd tîm Dan-16 yr Academi yn chwarae rownd cynderfynol y gogledd o Gwpan Academïau Cymru. Ei gwrthwynebwyr fydd Academi TNS. Pob lwc hogiau. Tomorrow morning (07/04/13), at 11 am at the Traeth, the Academy U-16s play the northern section semi final of the Wales Academies Cup. Their opponents will be the TNS Academy. Best of luck lads. 05/04/13 Y clwb yn chwilio am Gyfarwyddwr Academi / Club seeking an Academy director Mae CPD Porthmadog yn chwilio am Gyfarwyddwr i’r Academi llwyddiannus. Mae’r clwb yn gweld yr apwyntiad hwn yn un o’r pwysigrwydd mwyaf wrth ddatblygu chwaraewyr ifanc all ffurfio dyfodol y clwb. Bydd y clwb yn anelu i apwyntio hyfforddwr cymwys sydd â Tystysgrif ‘A’ UEFA neu sydd yn gweithio tuag at y cymhwyster yna. The current squad of Academy players are no exception either, with the U-16s having already reached the northern semi finals of this season’s Welsh Academies Cup. Hynny ydy os nac oes gan y tywydd un sioc arall yn ein haros! Mae’r rhediad hwyr wedi codi tymor braidd yn siomedig gan rhoi gobaith am welliant i’r tymor nesaf. Daeth hyn diolch i gyfuniad o chwaraewyr newydd a theyrngarwch gweddill y garfan ac mae wedi codi’r clwb i ddiogelwch canol y tabl. Two games in three days will wind up Port’s season for 2012/13. That is unless the weather has any more nasty surprises for us. The late run has lifted an otherwise disappointing season and gives fresh hope ahead of next season. The impetus given by a combination of new signings and the determined play of a loyal squad has produced this lift into the safety of mid-table. On Thursday (6 April) we take on a strong Caersws team who will be looking to complete a good season with a top three finish. They have been a free scoring outfit this season and have in mark Griffiths the league’s leading scorer with 25 goals. The kick off will be at 7.30pm. All at Port were very sorry to hear that manager Mickey Evans has been admitted to hospital and we wish him a speedy recovery. On Saturday (8 March) Port travel to Rhydymwyn (CH7 5HE) in a 3rd attempt to fulfil this fixture. The Flintshire club will provide a strong challenge as they will be eager to pick up points to ensure they retain their HGA status for next season. The kick off is at 1.30pm. 02/04/13 Ffordd osgoi a phroblemau llifogydd / Bypass flooding claim Wrth ymateb i ymchwil papur newydd ‘Yr Herald’ i lifogydd honedig ar Y Traeth, ac ar diroedd eraill sy’n ymylu â’r ffordd osgoi, dywedodd Cadeirydd Port Phil Jones, ” Medrwn ddefnyddio’r cae ond mae o’n torri fyny’n ddrwg a bu’n rhaid gohirio rhai gemau.” Pan ofynnwyd iddo am Arolwg Llywodraeth Cymru a lansiwyd yn Ebrill 2012 i geisio dod o hyd i achos y llifogydd dywedodd, “Clywais i ddim am yr Arolwg ers iddo gael ei lansio. Dylai fod gan Lywodraeth Cymru y cwrteisi i gadw mewn cysylltiad â ni ac ymateb. Rwy’n teimlo eu bod yn gobeithio y byddwn ni’n anghofio am y peth. Mae’r Llywodraeth yn ein hanwybyddu, ac ychydig ydy ein gobeithion o weld rhywbeth yn cael ei wneud amdano.” Dywedodd y brifathrawes, Alwen Watkin fod caeau chwarae Ysgol Eifionydd hefyd wedi dioddef llifogydd ers i’r gwaith ar y ffordd osgoi gychwyn ym mis Ebrill 2010, gan effeithio cwricwlwm yr ysgol a gweithgareddau codi arian. “Does yna neb wedi bod mewn cysylltiad â’r ysgol ynglyn â’r broblem ers i’r ffordd osgoi gael ei hadeiladu. Does yna ddim wedi digwydd o gwbl ac mae’n rhwystredig ac anhygoel o siomedig. “Addawodd Llywodraeth Cymru ddigolledu’r ysgol am y gwariant ychwanegol a wariwyd ar fysiau i gludo plant i’r ganolfan chwaraeon ond dydyn ni heb weld dim ohono,” meddai Mrs. Watkin. Er fod ‘Yr Herald’ wedi cysylltu â Llywodraeth Cymru ni dderbyniwyd unrhyw sylw ganddynt ond mae’r papur yn addo dilyn y stori hon i fyny. Gobeithio felly am ymateb cadarnhaol. Responding to a Herald enquiry into alleged flooding at the Traeth and other land adjoining the new bypass, Port Chairman Phil Jones said “We can use the pitch at times but it breaks up a lot and we do have to postpone games”. When asked about a Welsh Government review which was launched in April 2012 to investigate the cause of the flooding he said, “We haven’t seen or heard anything of the review since it was launched. “You’d think the Welsh Government would have the courtesy to keep us informed or give us some kind of response. I think that they hope we’ll go away. They seem to be ignoring us, so we’re not holding out much hope that something will be done about it.” Playing fields at Ysgol Eifionydd have also been flooded since work on the bypass began in 2010, affecting the school’s curriculum and important fundraising activities, said headteacher Alwen Watkin. “Nobody from the government has been in touch with the school about the problem since the bypass was built. Nothing’s been done at all and it’s very frustrating and incredibly disappointing,” she added. “The Welsh Government said it would reimburse the school for the extra cost of taking the pupils to the leisure centre by bus, but we haven’t seen anything of it,” said Mrs Watkin. Despite being contacted by the Herald last week for a response, the Welsh Government failed to comment. “We’ll be following this story up next week” say the paper. Hopefully the Herald will get a more positive response. |
