Gallai hefyd arwain at gyfleoedd yn y tîm cyntaf. Ond yn anffodus mae’r Ail Dîm yn dal yn brin o chwaraewyr gyda’r niferoedd yn y sesiynau ymarfer diwethaf wedi bod braidd yn siomedig. Felly mae Neil yn annog chwaraewyr ifanc yr ardal i gysylltu yn gyntaf ar 07453 800408 a wedyn dod i ymarfer. This is a new venture for the club offers local players the opportunity of playing a good standard of football on good pitches against the Reserve sides of Prestatyn, Colwyn Bay, Caernarfon, Flint and more. It could also provide young players with a route into the first team. However the Reserves are short of players following poor recent turnouts at training and Roberts is urging young local players to contact him in the first instance on 07453 800408 and then attend training. 14/07/13 Noddi Chwaraewyr 2013/14 / Sponsor a Player 2013/14 Mae yna gyfle ichi gefnogwyr helpu’r clwb drwy noddi chwaraewr am y tymor newydd. Y gobaith rŵan yw y bydd y Bala, a fu’n anffodus i beidio mynd trwodd i ail rownd ragbrofol Cynghrair Ewropa wedi iddynt golli o 3-2 ar gyfanswm goliau yn erbyn Levadia Tallinn, yn dod i’r Traeth am gêm gyfeillgar rhywbryd yn ystod y tymor. Port will now welcome Gwalchmai to the Traeth at 2.30pm on Saturday 20 July after the original opponents, Bala, decided to pull out of their game against Port due to their European commitments. It is now hoped that Bala, who were unfortunate not to go through into the second qualification round of the Europa League having lost by 3-2 on aggregate against Levadia Tallinn, will visit the Traeth for a friendly at some point during the coming season. 10/07/13 Noddwr newydd / New sponsor Mae CPD Porthmadog yn falch i gyhoeddi fod yr apêl ddiweddar am brif noddwr ar y cyd wedi dwyn ffrwyth yn barod gyda Fframio Castell yn dod yn noddwyr mewn cytundeb dwy flynedd. Mae’n siŵr mai’r gemau y bydd nifer ohonoch yn edrych ymlaen amdanynt fwyaf fydd rheiny yn erbyn Caernarfon, a bydd dim rhaid aros yn rhy hir am ymweliad cyntaf y Cofis â’r Traeth am gêm gystadleuol ers ychydig o flynyddoedd ar 17 Medi. Bydd Port yn ymweld â’r Oval ar 18 Ionawr, 2014. Bydd nifer o gefnogwyr lleol sy’n mwynhau dilyn gemau ar yr Oval a’r Traeth yn siomedig i sylwi fod Port a Chaernarfon yn chwarae adref ar yr un diwrnod ar saith achlysur yn ystod y tymor. The full fixtures for the Cymru Alliance have been announced. Port will visit the Oval on 18 January, 2014. Many local supporters who enjoy following matches on the Oval and the Traeth will be disappointed to note that Port and Caernarfon will play at home on the same date on seven occasions. Port will face the other newcomers, Llanidloes Town on 28 September – this will be our first league match against the mid Wales club since 1992/93 in the inaugural season of the League of Wales. 07/07/13 Gêm ymarfer / Trial match Bydd y tîm cyntaf a’r ail dîm yn ymarfer ar y Traeth nos Fawrth nesaf, 9 Gorffennaf ac mae yna hefyd wahoddiad cyffredinol i chwaraewyr i gymryd rhan mewn Gêm Ymarfer. Bydd Port yn cychwyn y tymor gyda gêm adref ar y Traeth yn erbyn Rhydymwyn. Trwy gyd-ddigwyddiad gêm yn erbyn Rhydymwyn oedd yr olaf o’r tymor diwethaf a colli o 3-2 oedd hanes Port ar y diwrnod. Gobeithio am well canlyniad i gychwyn y tymor newydd! Mae'r gem ar gyfer 24 Awst hefyd wedi'i hychwanegu -oddi cartref yn Penycae. Port will open their season with a home fixture at the Traeth when the visitors will be Rhydymwyn. By coincidence a game against Rhydymwyn was Port’s closing game of last season. Above are the other HGA fixtures on 17 August. 06/07/13 Newyddion am Carl a GJE / News of Carl and GJE Mae yna newyddion gobeithiol am ddau chwaraewr allweddol a ddioddefodd anafiadau tymor hir. ”Mae Carl wedi edrych yn siarp iawn wrth ymarfer,” meddai Gareth Parry am y blaenwr Carl Owen. Y diweddaraf am y chwaraewr canol cae Gareth Jones Evans ydy ei fod yn disgwyl apwyntiad ysbyty yn fuan i gael pinnau wedi dynnu o’i ffêr ac y gobaith ydy y bydd yn barod am ymarfer ysgafn yn fuan wedyn. Er fod Carl wedi dod o’r fainc ambell dro y tymor diwethaf ni gychwynnodd gêm ers iddo dorri ei goes mewn gêm gyfeillgar yng Nghaergybi yn Awst 2011. Yn wir y tro diwethaf iddo gychwyn gêm oedd yn Ebrill 2011 pan sgoriodd ddwywaith yn y fuddugoliaeth o 4-2 dros Rhaeadr. Mae Gareth Jones Evans heb chwarae ers torri ei ffêr yn gynnar yn y gêm yng Nghae Conna yn Chwefror 2012. Roedd yr anafiadau yma yn ergyd drom i Port a byddai cael y ddau yn ôl yn hwb mawr. “Byddai cystal ac arwyddo dau chwaraewr newydd o’r safon uchaf,” oedd sylw Gareth Parry. Felly croeswch eich bysedd! There is hopeful news of two key players who have suffered long term injuries. Manager Gareth Parry says of Carl Owen, “Carl has looked really sharp in early season training.” While the latest on midfielder Gareth Jones Evans is that he will very shortly be having the pins removed from his injured ankle and it is then hoped that he will within a very shortly be ready to start light training. Though Carl came from the bench on a handful of occasions last season he has not started a game since suffering a broken leg in a pre-season game at Holyhead in August 2011. This means that his last start for Port came in April 2011 when he scored twice in the 4-2 win over Rhayader. Gareth Jones Evans has been out since breaking his ankle early in the game at Connah’s Quay in February 2012. These serious injuries have been a blow for Port and the return of the pair would be a massive boost. “It would be like having a couple of top new signings available,” commented Gareth Parry. So it’s a case of fingers crossed at this stage! 04/07/13 Gareth yn edrych ymlaen / Gareth looking forward Mae Gareth Parry yn edrych ymlaen yn fawr at weithio ar y cyd gyda Matthew Bishop yr is-reolwr newydd. “Mae ei record fel hyfforddwr yn dweud y cyfan ac rwyf wedi fy mhlesio’n fawr ei fod wedi cytuno i ddod i’r Traeth. Bydd y clwb cyfan yn elwa o’i wybodaeth a’i arbenigedd. “Rwy’n siwr y byddaf yn elwa’n bersonol ac yn dysgu llawer wrtho. Bydd y tîm cyntaf yn elwa o’i brofiad eang a mwy na dim bydd yn gyfle perffaith i chwaraewyr ifanc yr Ail Dîm i ddatblygu eu gêm gyda fo.” Ychwanegodd, “Gan fy mod yn gobeithio bod yn ffit ac ar gael i chwarae mwy fy hun y tymor hwn bydd presenoldeb Bish ar ymyl y cae yn sicr o hwyluso hyn.” O.N. Heno bydd yr Ail Dîm yn cael eu sesiwn ymarfer cyntaf gyda Matthew Bishop ar gae 3G Maesglas, Bangor. Cysylltwch a Neil Roberts ar mobile: 07453 800408 Gareth Parry is looking forward to working alongside his new assistant manager Matthew Bishop. “His coaching record speaks for itself and I am delighted he has agreed to come to the Traeth. The whole club will feel the benefit of his knowledge and expertise. “I know I will be able to learn a great deal from working with him. The first team will benefit from his wealth of experience and above all perhaps it presents an ideal opportunity for the local youngsters in the reserves to develop their game. He added, “I also hope to be fit and available to play more in the coming season and the presence of someone like Bish in the dugout will help me to achieve this aim.” P.S. The Reserves will have their first session with Matthew Bishop tonight on the 3G pitch at Maesglas, Bangor. Contact Neil Roberts on mobile: 07453 800408 03/07/13 Hyfforddwr Cynghrair Lloegr yn ymuno â Port /Football League coach joins Port Prin fedrai Gareth Parry guddio ei bleser wrth gadarnhau fod Matthew Bishop, un o hyfforddwyr mwyaf blaenllaw Cymru, yn ymuno â Port yn swydd yr is-reolwr. Yn ei swydd ddiweddaraf roedd Matthew Bishop yn is-reolwr i Dean Holdsworth gyda chlwb Aldershot o Gynghrair Lloegr rhwng 2010 a 2013. Yn y cyfnod cafodd y clwb rhediad da yng Nghwpan Carling a chyrraedd y 4ydd rownd yn curo West Ham, Rochdale a Chaerllywelydd i sicrhau gêm yn erbyn Man U. Yn amlwg bwriad tymor hir Matthew Bishop ydy dychwelyd i bêl-droed yn llawn amser ond ei ymateb pan ofynnodd Gareth Parry iddo ddod oedd, “Ar y funud rwyf ar gael ac am ddod i Port a rhoi cyfraniad cant y cant.” Mae’n newyddion arbennig i Port i gael hyfforddwr o’r safon uchaf, nid yn unig yn gweithio gyda’r tîm cyntaf ond hefyd gyda chwaraewyr ifanc yr ail dîm sydd yn rhoi cyfle arbennig i ieuenctid yr ardal weithio gyda hyfforddwr mor brofiadol. Mae ganddo Drwydded Broffesiynol UEFA a phrofiad eang yn hyfforddi gyda chlybiau proffesiynol a ieuenctid. Mae wedi bod yn brif cydgysylltydd hyfforddi gyda’r Ymddiriedolaeth Bêl-droed a chyfarwyddwr cyrsiau hyfforddi Trwydded ‘A’ UEFA yng Nghymru. Yn ogystal a gweithio yn Aldershot mae wedi dal swyddi tebyg gyda Chasnewydd, Port Talbot, Cwmbrân a Bryntirion. Hefyd mae wedi hyfforddi carfanau Dan-16 a Dan-17 Cymru. Croeso i’r Traeth Matthew. Gareth Parry could hardly contain his delight as he disclosed that Matthew Bishop, one of the leading coaches in Wales, had joined Port in the assistant manager’s role. In his most recent post Matthew Bishop was assistant manager to Dean Holdsworth at Football League club Aldershot 2010/13. The club enjoyed a successful Carling Cup run to the fourth round in 2011/12 beating West Ham, Rochdale and Carlisle along the way before facing a home tie against Manchester United. Obviously Matthew Bishop’s long term aim is to return to a full time coaching post but his response when approached by Gareth Parry was, “I am available at the minute and coming to Porthmadog and will be giving a 100% commitment.” It is great news for the club to have the services of a top coach who will work not only with the first team but also with the youngsters in the reserves which will mean that young players in the area have the opportunity of working with a first class coach. A UEFA Pro Licence holder with diverse coaching experience at both senior and youth level, he has been senior coaching co-ordinator with the Welsh Football Trust and course director for the highly regarded FAW/UEFA ‘A ‘Licence courses. Apart from Aldershot he has held senior coaching positions with Newport County, Cwmbran Town, Port Talbot and Bryntirion Athletic. He has also been coach to the Welsh U16 and U17 national squads. Welcome to the Traeth Matthew. 02/07/13 Sut gafodd Port y wobr / How the award was won Mae derbyn gwobr ‘Clwb y Tymor’ yng nghyfarfod blynyddol y Cymru Alliance wedi gadael cefnogwyr yn holi sut cafodd hyn ei benderfynu. Nid rhyw ddewis ar fympwy ydy hwn ac mae Treflyn (ar y dudalen drafod) yn iawn i longyfarch swyddogion y clwb. Yn wir, gwobr ydy hon am gael pethau oddi ar y cae yn iawn. Er cymaint y dymunwn ennill y gynghrair, mae yna lawer o bethau eraill sydd rhaid inni gael yn eu lle er mwyn datblygu’r clwb. Mae’n wobr, nid yn unig i’r swyddogion ond i bawb sy’n gweithio ar ddiwrnod gêm. Mae clybiau oddi cartref yn llenwi ffurflen ar ddiwedd pob gêm gan fesur y clwb cartref ar nifer o faterion. Mae hyn yn cychwyn gyda’r math o groeso a dderbynnir gan chwaraewyr, swyddogion a chefnogwyr. Mae’r cwestiynau yn amrywio o un am barcio, y gweithwyr wrth y giât, y cyfleusterau newid, y cantîn, y bwyd a’r staff, y bwyd mae’r chwaraewyr yn eu gael, y cyhoeddiadau a’r cae ei hun a’i gyflwr. Cesglir yr holl ymatebion dros y tymor cyfan ac eleni mae marciau ein cyd glybiau wedi gwneud CPD Porthmadog yn glwb y tymor. Dylai hyn fod yn achos balchder i bawb yn y clwb. The announcement of Port’s ‘Club of the Season’ award at the Cymru Alliance AGM has led to several supporters speculating as to how this came about. Well it is not a nomination plucked out of the air and Treflyn (on the website discussion page) is quite correct to congratulate and give praise to club officials. It is indeed an award for getting the non-playing part right. Much as we would like to win the league every season, in order to make progress the club has to get many other aspects right too. The award is not only for club officials but for the whole match day team. Each away club has to fill a response form which asks the visiting club to mark the home club on a variety of functions starting with the welcome given to their players, officials and supporters. The questions then range from parking, the gatekeepers at the point of entry, through to changing facilities, the canteen and its staff, the food players receive, the announcements, the ground itself and the playing surface. The results of this survey are then collated over the season and on this occasion the responses of our fellow clubs made Porthmadog FC the team of the season. This indeed is something which the club can be justifiably proud. 01/07/13 Dau yn gadael / Two players leave Mae Caernarfon wedi cyhoeddi fod yr amddiffynnwr profiadol Grahame Austin a’r chwaraewr ganol cae Steve Kehoe, y ddau yn aelodau rheolaidd o garfan Port y tymor diwethaf, wedi arwyddo i glwb yr Oval. Caernarfon Town have announced that experienced defender Graham Austin and midfielder Steve Kehoe, who were regulars for Port last season, have signed for the Oval club. 30/06/13 Y sbriwsio yn llwyddiant / Clean up day goes well Mae’r clwb yn ddyledus i’r gwirfoddolwyr a dreuliodd ddiwrnod llawn ar y Traeth ddydd Sadwrn gan gwblhau nifer dda o dasgau pwysig. Cludwyd berfa ar ôl berfa o bridd tywodlyd i’w osod yn y ddau gwrt cosbi, gwnaed dipyn o farc ar y gwaith o beintio’r eisteddle, torrwyd y gwair a’i glirio, gosodwyd hysbysfyrddau newydd a glanhawyd a paratowyd y gegin ar gyfer y tymor newydd. Mae llun Martin Rookyard yn dangos y gwirfoddolwyr sy’n cynnwys dau o Fanceinion ac un o Lerpwl! Gyda llaw, y gwirfoddolwyr sy’n cuddio tu ôl i Enid ydy Nigel a’i frws paent! Bydd yna sesiwn arall nos Iau nesaf, 4 GORFFENNAF rhwng 6pm a 9pm. Peidiwch da chi a phoeni -gadawyd digonedd o waith i grŵp newydd o wirfoddolwyr at nos Iau. Ac i’r rhai hynny sy’n methu cadw o’r lle, welwn ni chi nos Iau. The club is grateful to the volunteers who spent a full day at the Traeth on Saturday completing a large number of important tasks. Barrow loads of sandy soil were applied to both penalty areas, good progress was made with painting the stands, grass was cut and cleared, new advertising boards fixed and the kitchen was cleaned and prepared for the approaching season. Martin Rookyard’s photo shows the volunteers including two from Manchester and another from Liverpool! For the record Nigel and his paint brush is hiding behind Enid! A further session will take place on Thursday evening, 4 JULY between 6pm and 9pm. Don’t worry enough work remains for a fresh group of volunteers together with those addicts who just can’t keep away from the Traeth. See you Thursday. 28/06/13 Port yn chwilio am gyd noddwr newydd / Club seeks new joint sponsor Yn dilyn penderfyniad Cwmni Gwastraff Gray i leihau ei nawdd i’r clwb, mae CPD Porthmadog yn edrych am gyd noddwr newydd. Bydd crysau oddi cartref y clwb yn arddangos enw a logo Rheilffordd Ffestiniog ac Eryri dros ogledd a chanolbarth Cymru.
