"Dim ond un Les Davies!" / "There's only one Les Davies!" Saesneg / English Cafodd Les Davies, blaenwr ifanc Port, ei enwi mewn erthygl yn y Wales on Sunday gan Andy Rose sy’n nodi llwyddiant Owain Tudur Jones a Lee Trundle ers iddynt ymuno ag Abertawe ac wedi helpu’r clwb o dde Cymru ddod yn rym yn Nghynghrair Un o byramid Lloegr. Enwyd Les fel un arall i gadw llygad arno gyda’r potensial i symud i’r gêm broffesiynol. Dywedodd Clayton Blackmore, cyn chwaraewr Cymru, amdano: "Aeth Les at glwb Sheffield Wednesday am wythnos ac er ei fod yn 6tr. 2 fodfedd ac yn 16 stôn fo oedd y cyflyma yna dros 30 llathen. Welais i erioed neb tebyg. Os fyswn ni gyda chlwb proffesiynol byswn yn cael golwg arno gan nad yw’n debyg i unrhyw un arall yr wyf wedi dod ar ei draws" Cafodd Les gêm fawr nos Wener yn erbyn Caernarfon a fo gychwynnodd y symudiad a wnaeth arwain at gôl gyntaf Carl Owen. Mae’r gôl wych a sgoriodd Les ar ddechrau’r tymor yn erbyn TNS yn cadarnhau barn Blackmore. English Porthmadog forward Les Davies was given a mention in a Wales on Sunday article by Andy Rose noting the progress of former Welsh Premier stars Owain Tudur Jones and Lee Trundle since joining Swansea City and helping to make them a formidable force in League One of the English pyramid. Les was named as another player to keep an eye on and having the potential to progress into the professional game. Former Welsh international, Clayton Blackmore, said of him: "Les went to Sheffield Wednesday for a week and even though he is 6ft 2in and 16 stone he was still the quickest there over 30 yards. I've never seen anyone like him. If I was at a professional club I would take a look at him because he is not like anyone I have ever come across." Les had a storming game on Friday against Caernarfon at the Oval and started the move that led to Carl Owen’s first goal. His fine individual goal against TNS at the start of the season also tends to confirm Blackmore’s view. |
