Rhagolwg gêm Llanelli / Llanelli match preview (English) Llanelli fydd yr ymwelwyr deniadol â’r Traeth, Nos Fercher nesaf (Mawrth 8fed). Mae’r clwb o’r de yn un o ond dau glwb proffesiynol yn y gynghrair ac wedi bod ers yr haf pan brynwyd y clwb gan gwmni Grwp Jesco. Enillodd Llanelli enw da am chwarae pêl droed deniadol a chreadigol a gobeithio felly gwnaiff hyn berswadio nifer dda i adael eu setiau teledu nos Fercher. Y syndod mawr yw mai hon ydy’r gêm gynghrair gyntaf o dan y llif oleuadau newydd. Bydd y gic gyntaf am 7.30. Mae Llanelli ar rediad da iawn yn ddiweddar ac wedi ennill wyth o’u naw gêm gynghrair ddiwethaf. Hefyd maent drwodd i rownd gynderfynol Cwpan Cymru ar ôl curo Caernarfon o 3-0 ddydd Sadwrn. Ond os wnawn grafu ychydig dan y wyneb, gwelwn fod yna obaith i’w trechu. Cawsant gweir o 4-1 gan Aberystwyth gyda Glyndwr Hughes yn defnyddio’i gyflymder i redeg yn syth at yr amddiffyn a chreu hafoc – Carl a Les sylwch! Mae’n werth nodi hefyd fod Derwyddon Cefn wedi rhoi gêm galed iddynt ac ond yn colli o 1-0. Ddydd Sadwrn, gwnaeth Caernarfon eu dal yn ddi-sgor tan yr egwyl cyn colli o 3-0- sgôr a oedd yn fwy na haeddiant y tîm o’r de. Un ffaith rhyfedd iawn am record Llanelli eleni yw’r absenoldeb llwyr o gêmau cyfartal. Eu prif sgoriwr ydy Ivan Nofuentes gyda 8 gôl. Mae hwn yn un o’r Sbaenwyr a ddenwyd i’r clwb gan y cyn gyfarwyddwr pêl droed Lucas Cazorla Luque. Rheolwr presennol y clwb ydy cyn chwaraewr Arsenal, Peter Nicholas. O ddiddordeb lleol ydy presenoldeb dau o gyn chwaraewyr Porthmadog yng ngharfan Llanelli sef Dyfan Pierce a Neil Thomas. Dim esgusodion felly- dewch i’r Traeth yn llu! Gareth Williams. Llanelli match preview Next Wednesday ( March 8th) Llanelli are the very attractive visitors to the Traeth. The South Wales club is one of only two professional clubs in the league and has been since it was taken over by the Jesco Group last summer. They have built up a reputation for creative, attacking football and hopefully will draw a large number of supporters away from their television sets to what will be surprisingly enough the first WPL game played under the new improved lights. The kick off will be at 7.30. Llanelli are in a good run of form having won seven of their last eight league games and have also reached the semi-final of the Welsh Cup by virtue of a 3-0 victory over Caernarfon on Saturday. If we scratch beneath the surface, we can see some chinks in their armour however. Aberystwyth gave them a 4-1 drubbing with Glyndwr Hughes creating havoc with his pacy, direct running at the Llanelli defence –take note Carl and Les. Also it is worth noting that Cefn Druids gave them a hard time only going down by a single goal. Caernarfon held them up to half-time in Saturday’s cup-tie and Llanelli were flattered by three second half goals. One strange fact about Llanelli’s record this season is that they have not drawn any of their league games. Their leading scorer is Ivan Nofuentes with 8 goals. He is one of the Spanish contingent brought in by former director of football Lucas Cazorla Luque. The club is now managed by former Arsenal player Peter Nicholas. Of local interest also is that two members of the Llanelli squad are former Porthmadog players, Dyfan Pierce and Neil Thomas. No excuses, therefore, let’s have a bumper crowd on Wednesday to cheer the lads on! Gareth Williams. | |||
