Cwpan Pathfinders Cup -04/08/18 CPD Porthmadog .............................0 Llandudno Town.....................,.........1 John Owen 54’ Llongyfarchiadau i Landudno enillwyr Cwpan y Pathfinders 2018 a llwyddiant cyntaf y tymor iddynt. Gôl o safon ar ôl 54 munud gan John Owen oedd y gwahaniaeth rhwng y ddau glwb ar ddiwedd y 90 munud. Bydd yn siom i Port fod yr unig gôl wedi dod o ganlyniad i gamgymeriad amddiffynol. Cymrodd John Owen fantais llawn o bas flêr yn ôl i’r golwr, dwyn y bêl ac yn curo Paul Pritchard gan godi’r bêl i’r gornel bella’. Roedd y digwyddiad ddim yn adlewyrchaiad o’r safon a gafwyd gan Port yn ystod y 90 munud. Dangoswyd digon o safon wrth iddynt wneud mwy na chystadlu efo’r gwrthwynebwyr o UGC. Yn yr hanner cynta’ Port creodd y cyfleoedd gorau a chafwyd croesiadau peryglus wrth Sion Edwards, Jay Gibbs a Shaun Cavanagh. Yn yr 20 munud cynta daeth Julian Williams -ddwywaith- a Shaun Cavanagh yn agos, Er iddynt gael rhan deg o’r meddiant bu’n rhaid i Landudno aros tan munudau cyn yr hanner amser i fygwth am y tro cyntaf gyda Port yn cael eu gorfodi i clirio oddi ar y llinell. Yn yr ail hanner daeth Llandudno allan yn gryf a bu’n rhaid i Port glirio o’r llinell gôl unwaith eto. Mewn munudau daeth unig gôl y gêm. Ond roedd Port yn dal i fygwth a tarodd Shaun Cavanagh ergyd wych o 25 llathen gan daro’r bar gyda golwr yr ymwelwyr wedi’i guro. Bu’n rhaid i Landudno hefyd clirio o’r llinell gyda Port yn galw am gic o’r smotyn. Yn y chwarter olaf arafodd y gêm wrth i nifer yr eilyddion gynyddu. Mae’n siwr i Craig Papirnyk gael ei blesio gan y perfformiad, gyda’u dîm yn rhoi dipyn o gêm i glwb arall o’r UGC -yr ail waith mewn 4 niwrnod. Cafwyd nifer o berfformiadau ardderchog a neb fwy na Ryan Taylor a ddefnyddiodd ei gyflymder a’i basio cywir ar y chwith ac yn edrych yn ychwanegiad ardderchog i’r garfan,. Congratulations to Llandudno Town who came out on top in today’s Pathfinder’s Cup challenge and seciure the first piece of silverware of the season for themselves. John Owen’s quality 54th minute finish separated the two sides at the end. Port will be disappointed that the goal which gave the visitors the win came from a rare piece of sloppy defending. allowing John Owen to nip in, intercept an underhit backpass and beat the exposed Paul Pritchard with a lofted side footer. It was disappointing incident in a game where Port showed a huge amount of quality and in fact more than matched their WPL opponents for long periods of the game. In the opening half they created more and better chances than their opponents. There were some dangerous balls in from the flanks from Sion Edwards, Jay Gibbs and Shaun Cavanagh. In the first 20 minutes Juian Williams =twice- and Shaun Cavanagh came close. Llandudno despite having a good share of possession had to wait until close on half-time before they were denied a goal by a goaline clearance. In the second half the visitors came out strongly and early in the half another Port goaline clearance was needed. A few minutes later came the only goal of the game. The narrow escapes were however not confined to the Port goal as Shaun Cavanagh had a shot cleared of the line with a shout for a penalty turned down. The closest Port came to an equaliser came when an outstanding effort from Shaun Cavanagh. But his 25 yard effort struck the crossbar with the keeper beaten. The game lost its intensity in the latter stages when the sub changes started to flow. Craig Papirnyk must have been pleeased to see his team, in a matter of four days, match a club that will be playing in the WPL next weekend. There were some really excellent performances none more so than Ryan Taylor whose pace and distribution make him a top class acquisition. It was great to welcome the Pathfinders and hear them in good voice, We hope you all enjoy the rest of your stay at Cricieth. Starting line-up. Paul Pritchard, Dan Dascalu, Gruff john, Iddon Price, Ryan Taylor: Ifan Emlyn, Jay Gibbs, Iwan Lewis: Shaun Cavanagh, Julian Williams, Sion Edwards. Gêm Gyfeillgar / Friendly-31/07/18 Caernarfon .............................0 CPD Porthmadog .............................0 Daeth torf dda i'r Ofal i wylio darbi-Gwynedd - gem fwyaf Cynghrair Huw Gray yn y blynyddoedd diwethaf ond mae'n bosib yr unig gyfle i weld y ddau dim yn chwarae eu gilydd eleni. Cafwyd gem ddigon cystadleuol gyda amryw o hanner-cyfleoedd i'r ddau dim. Ond, fel sy'n aml yr achos mewn gemau cyfeillgar, doedd dim cweit yr egni yn y perfformiadau o'i gymharu efo gem gynghrair. Mae'n debyg mai Caernarfon gafodd y mwyafrif o'r hanner-cyfleoedd yn yr hanner cyntaf - ond gafodd Paul Pritchard ddim ei brofi o ddifri. Daeth eu cyfle gorau ym munud olaf yr hanner pan beniwyd ymdrech oddi ar y llinell. Ail-adroddwyd hyn yn y 75 munud gyda peniad Ceri James yn arbed ar y llinell. Yn yr ail-hanner cafod Port fwy o gyfleodd clir eu hunain. Ar ôl awr, aeth Siôn Edwards yn agos gyda cic rydd yn crymanu heibio'r postyn. Yna, gydag 20 munud i fynd, daeth y cyfle cliriaf Port pan ddaeth y bel i Shaun Cavanagh oedd heb ei farcio yn y blwch cosbi, ond dros y trawst aeth ei beniad. Y newyddion drwg i Port oedd fod Dewi Thomas, yr amddiffynnwr newydd, i weld wedi ei anafu'n eithaf drwg. There was a good turnout at the Oval tonight to watch the Gwynedd derby - the Huws Gray Alliance's biggest match over the recent years, but possibly the only opportunity to see the two opponents match up this season. Despite being competitive, the match lacked the intensity of a league encountered. Caernarfon probably had the best of the chances in the first half, but in reality, Paul Pritchard in the Port goal was rarely troubled. Their best chance came in the last minute of the half when an attacking header was cleared off the line. This was repeated in the second half when Ceri James headed off the line after 75 minutes. Port had more good chances of their own during the second half. On the hour mark, Sion Edwards went close with a curling free-kick which went just past the upright. Then, with 20 minutes to go came Port's best chance, when the ball fell to an un-marked Shaun Cavanagh, however his header went over the cross-bar. Bad news for Port came in the second half when defender Dewi Thomas hobbled off with a seemingly serious injury. Gêm Gyffeillgar / Friendly-28/07/18 Brickfield Rangers .............................0 CPD Porthmadog .............................3 Teithiodd Port i Wrecsam heddiw i chwarae Brickfield Rnagers ar Barc Clywedog. Roedd yn ddi-sgôr ar yr hanner ond 3 munud wedi’r egwyl aeth Port ar y blaen. Sion Parry rhwydodd a hyn yn golygu ei fod wedi sgorio mewn tair gêm yn olynol. Dyblwyd y fantais ar ôl 67 munud gyda Julian Williams yn gwneud yn 2-0 i Port. Aeth yn 3-0 erbyn y diwedd wrth i Ifan Emlyn a sgoriodd hefyd yn erbyn Penrhyn, yn rhwydo gyda dwy funud yn weddill. I roi ychydig o berspectif i’r canlyniad mae’n werth cofio fod Brickfield eisoes wedi rhoi gemau cystadleuol i Bangor a Dinbych ac mae eiu rheolwr newydd Nicky Ward wedi bod yn brysur yn cryfhau ei garfan. Pob lwc i Brickfied wrth iddynt baratoi i gynnig sialens go-iawn am ddyrchafiad ar ddiwedd 2018/19. Sylw Craig ar Y Trydar oedd, ““Another game down today Thanks to Nicky Ward, Matt Torgersen and Brickfield for the game and warm welcome , all the best this season to you all. Two big tests this week for Port now in our final preparations for the season ahead. “ Port travelled to Wrexham today to take on Brickfield Rangers at Clywedog Park. At half-time the game remained scoreless but just three minutes after the re-start Port went ahead. Sion Parry netted and he has now provided goals in three consecutive pre-season fixtures. Port went on to double their advantage on 67 minutes when Julian Williams made it 2-0. With just two minutes remaining Ifan Emlyn, who also netted against Penrhyn last Tuesday, made the final score 3-0. To put this result in perspective it is worth noting that Brickfield have provided Bangor and with competitive games during this pre-season and new manager Nicky Ward has been busy strengthening his squad. Good luck to Brickfield as they prepare for a promtion challenge during 2018/19. Craig commented on Twitter “Another game down today Thanks to Nicky Ward, Matt Torgersen and Brickfield for the game and warm welcome , all the best this season to you all. Two big tests this week for Port now in our final preparations for the season ahead. “ Gêm Gyfeillgar / Friendly-24/0718 CPD Porthmadog.....................,..................2 CPD Penrhyndeudraeth.............................0 Taflwyd cysgod dros y gêm gyfeillgar rhwng port a’r cymdogion CPD Penrhyndeudraeth oherwydd digwyddiad difrifol 5 munud cyn ddiwedd y gêm. Daeth y diwedd wrth I gar ddisgyn o’r ffordd osgoi lawr I gyfeiriad Clwb y Traeth ac ar y silindrau nwy wrrth ymyl. Rhuthrodd chwaraewyr a chefnogwyr at y lle a rhuddhawyd y gyrrwr o’r car. Cyrhaeddodd yr heddlu, injan dân ac ambiwlans a chaewyd y ffordd osgoi I’r ddau gyfeiriad. Oherwydd y peryg posib roedd nifer wedi methu gadael y maes parcio am fod eu ceir yn agos iawn I’r digwyddiad. Arhosodd y gêm yn gyfartal ddi-sgôr ar yr hanner ac ymlaen i Ganol yr ail-hanner cyn i Ifan Emlyn roi Port ar y blaen. Ni fu ychwangeiad at y sgorio tan yn hwyr yn y gêm a Sion Parry yn ei gwneud yn 2-0 i Port.Mewn amgylchidau eraill y gôl wych hon fyddai’r pwnc siarad ar ddiwedd y gêm Daeth y gêm i ben ar ôl 85 munud. Last night’s friendly fixture against neighbours CPD Penrhyndeudraeth was overshadowed by a serious incident 5 minutes before the end g the game. The game was halted when a car careered down the slope from the by-pass and on to gas cylinders adjacent to the Clubhouse. Players and other helpers rushed to the car and the driver was released. Police, fire-engines and an ambulance arrived at the scene and the by-pass was closed and cars parked close to the incident were unable to leave the car park at the end of the game. The game remained scoreless at the interval an well into the second period before Ifan Emlyn put Port ahead. There was no addition to thw score until close to the end when Sion Parry made it 2-0 for Port. In different circumstances this super goal would have been the talking point at the end of the game The match was abandoned on 85 minutes. Gêm Ddathlu Richard Harvey / Richard Harvey’s Celebration Match -21/0718 CPD Porthmadog.....................,.....8 Cewri / Legends.............................4 Ar ddiwrnod pan roedd y sgôr yn ddibwys gyda torf dda a casgliad o sêr yn dathlu efo Richard Harvey. Y dorf yn llewys eu crysau a cae’r Traeth yn dechrau glasu eto wedi wythnosau o sychde oedd y cefndir ysblennydd i’r gêm. Aeth Port ar y blaen ar ôl 10 munud gyda Sion Edwards yn rhwydo. Tua chanol yr hanner cyntaf dyblodd Port eu mantais gyda gôl pan ergydiodd Iwan Lewis o 25 llath. Gyda’r hanner amser yn nesu rhwydodd Gruff John wrth y post cefn. Munud cyn yr egwyl curwyd Paul Pritchard gyda ergyd o 20 llath ond roedd Ceri James yn y lle iawn i wneud arbediad a dyrnu’r bêl dros y bar!! Cic o’r smotyn ac ar yr ail gynnig rhwydodd Richard harvey i’r Cewri 3-1 ar yr egwyl. Ar 69 munud sgoriodd y Cewri y gôl orau o’r dwsin efallai. Marcus Orlik yn torri ar y dde a croesiad perffaith i Sateve Jones yn penio i’r rhwyd. Cafwyd rhuthr o goliau i ddilyn. G^ôl arall i Port i’w gwneud yn 4-2 ond Carl Owen yn ymateb i’r Cewri 4-3. Wedyn cafwyd gôl rhyfeddol gan Sion Parry? Gyda ergyd o’r cylch canol yn disgyn yn daclus o dan y bar. 5-3 i Port. Y cyfan drosodd a diwrnod braf yn yr haul . Rwan am y band -Declan Swans. It was a day when the scoreline was irrelevant as Richard Harvey received a great celebratory farewell with former stars turning out to honour him and play one more time at the Traeth in front of an excellent crowd. A shirt sleeved crowd and a Traeth pitch which is beginning to recover iits green hue following weeks of drought conditions proved an excellent backdrop. Port went ahead after 10 minutes with Sion Edwards netting. Midway through the half the lead was doubled when a 25 yard effort from iwan Lewis was deflected past Richard Harvey in the Legends’ goal. With half-time approaching Gruff John nipped in at the back psot for a simple tap in. Just before the interval keeper Paul Pritchard was lobbed from 30 yards and Ceri James was forced to make a smart tip over the bar. Up stepped Richard Harvey for the spot kick and setruck his re-take into the corner of the net. 3-1 at half-time. On 69 minutes the Legends cut the deficit with one of the best of the dozen goals scored. Marcus Orlik broke on the right and a pinpoint cross for Steve Jones to net with a back post header. This was the signal for a flurry of goal scoring. An own goal made it 4-2 for Port only for Carl Owen to respond with a close range finish 4-3. A remarkable shot y Sion Parry? from the centre circle over the keeper and dipping neatly under the cross bar 5-3 to Port. The scoring spree continued with Rob Evans and then Sion Parry netting for Port. Does that make it 8-3? Then with a squad of 18 players on the pitch at once Mark Orlik had the last word for the Legends to make it 8-4 It was all over and a good day had by all. Bring on the music and enter Declan Swans. Ar ôl cyfnod hir o chwilio am y gôl gynta aeth Port ar y blaen diolch i gôl Iwan Lewis. Gwnaeth gôl hwyr Meilir Williams sicrhau y fuddugoliaeth.Nos Fawrth nesa’ bydd Port yn chwarae Llandyrnog ar Faes Tegid Y Bala. Port made a winning start to their pre-season preparations today against a i Welsh Alliance side Llangefni that fought a close promotion battle with Conwy Borough last season. The game was played on a sun baked Traeth where temperatures for the past month have rarely been much below 30 degrees. This was an early opportunity to get rid of the rust accumulated during the summer break on what was a matching rust coloured Traeth with hardly a green blade of grass in sight. It was Iwan Lewis who eventually broke the deadlock putting Port ahead and then late on Meilir Williams clinched the victory. Port will now take on Llandyrnog on Tuesday evening at Bala’s Maes Tegid. There was no addition to the score until the 63rd minute when summer signing from Brickfield Rangers, Dale Davies met a Gruff John cross to make it 3-1 to Port. It became 4=1 on 83 minutes with Rob Evans the scorer. That is how it ended with players having amother good workout.
