24/06/14 TOTE MAI / MAY TOTE Y rhifau lwcus yn Tote mis Mai oedd 14+27 ac roedd un enillydd, Marian Jones, Penrhyndeudraeth yn ennill y wobr £300. Bydd Tote mis Mehefin yn cael eu dynnu nos Wener (27 Mehefin) yn ystod noson Bingo Clwb Cymdeithasol Clwb Pêl-Droed Porthmadog yn Y Ganolfan. The winning numbers in the Porthmadog FC Social Club monthly Tote for May were 14+27 and there was one winner, Marian Jones, Penrhyndeudraeth winning £300. The June monthly Tote will be drawn this Friday at the weekly Bingo held at Y Ganolfan. 24/06/14 Swydd newydd DAVE TAYLOR / New post for DAVE TAYLOR Bydd cyn ymosodwr Porthmadog ac enillydd yr Esgid Aur yn 1994 Dave Taylor, yn rhan o dîm reoli newydd Dinbych. Bydd Dave yn is-reolwr i Terry Ingram. Cafodd Ingram, cyn is-reolwr i Huw Griffiths gyda Derwyddon Cefn, ei apwyntio yn dilyn ymddiswyddiad Richard Williams-Cooke. Former Porthmadog striker and Golden Boot winner Dave Taylor will be part of the new management team at Denbigh Town. Dave will assist new manager Terry Ingram at Central Park following the resignation of Richard Williams-Cooke . Ingram was assistant to Huw Griffiths at Cefn Druids last season. 21/06/14 Buddugoliaeth i Aber / Victory for Aber Sicrhaodd Aberystwyth fuddugoliaeth o 5-0 dros Port, diolch yn bennaf i hat tric ail hanner gan Chris Venables prif sgoriwr UGC llynedd. Cychwynnodd Port yn dda ond yn ôl y disgwyl Aber, a fu yn ymarfer ers dipyn o wythnosau, oedd y cryfaf yn yr ail hanner gyda Port prin wedi dechrau eu hymarfer cyn dymor. Ond roedd y gêm yn gyfle i hogiau Port cael amser ar y cae yn erbyn tîm da ac hefyd yn gyfle i Craig Papirnyk weld aelodau posib o’i garfan. Dymunwn yn dda i glwb Coedlan y Parc yn Ewrop. Bydd mwy o fanylion am y gêm yn ymddangos ar dudalen ‘Adroddiadau’ A second half hat-trick by last season’s WPL top scorer, Chris Venables helped Aberystwyth to a 5-0 win over Port this afternoon. Port started well but it was predictable that Aber, well advanced in pre-season preparations, should prove too strong in the second-half against a Porthmadog team who have hardly commenced their pre-season work. But the game gave the Port boys a good work out and a chance for Craig Papirnyk to run the rule over potential squad members. We wish the Park Avenue club well in their European games. More details of the match will appear later on the ‘Reports’ page. 20/06/14 Port i chwarae LLANRUG / Port to play LLANRUG Cadarnhaodd Craig Papirnyk fod gem oddi cartref yn erbyn Llanrug wedi’i ychwanegu at y rhestr o gemau cyn dymor. Bydd y gêm yn cael ei chwarae ar nos Fercher 16 Gorffennaf. Cafodd Llanrug dymor llwyddiannus yn 2013/14 yn gorffen yn 3ydd yn y Welsh Alliance ac yn ennill Tlws y Gymdeithas Bêl-droed. Craig Papirnyk has confirmed that another fixture has been added to the pre-season schedule at Llanrug on Wednesday, 16 July. Llanrug had a very successful 2013/14 season finishing in 3rd place in the Welsh Alliance and winning the FAW Trophy. 19/06/14 TAITH i ABER / PORT VISIT ABER Bydd Port yn cychwyn eu tymor yn gynnar iawn eleni gyda ymweliad a Choedlan y Parc pnawn Sadwrn, ar gyfer eu gêm cyn-dymor gyntaf yn erbyn Aberystwyth. Cytunodd Craig Papirnyk i’r dyddiad buan i hwyluso paratoadau Aber ar gyfer gemau Ewrop a fydd yn cael eu chwarae ar 3 Gorffennaf a 10 Gorffennaf . Cawn wybod eu gwrthwynebwyr pan fydd yr enwau yn cael eu tynnu ar 23 Mehefin. Yn amlwg fydd y gêm hon yn dipyn o brawf i Port, yn erbyn clwb sydd wedi hen gychwyn eu paratoadau a’u hymarfer at sialens Ewrop. Llynedd cafodd Aber eu tymor gorau ers sawl blwyddyn a heblaw am y gosb o goli pwyntiau byddai’r clwb wedi gorffen yn y chwe uchaf yn UGC. Bydd rhediadau cryf Geoff Kellaway a gallu Chwaraewr y Tymor, Chris Venables a sgoriodd 24 o goliau y tymor diwethaf, yn siwr o rhoi prawf ar amddiffyn Port. Llynedd cyfarfu’r ddau glwb mewn gêm gyfeillgar ar Y Traeth. Aberystwyth aeth a hi diolch i gôl hwyr mewn gêm agos iawn. Port make a very early start to the new season with a visit to Park Avenue, Aberystwyth on Saturday for their first pre-season fixture. Craig Papirnyk agreed to an early friendly as it forms part of Aber’s build up ahead of their European adventure when the club will be involved in a two leg fixture to be played on 3 July and 10 July. They will know their opponents when the draw is made on 23 June. This will obviously be a testing fixture for Port against a club who will already be well into pre-season training. Aber, under Ian Hughes, had one of their best seasons for some years and but for a points deduction would have gained a top six finish. The Port defence will be tested by the strong running Geoff Kellaway and WPL Player of the Season, Chris Venables, who scored 24 goals last season. Last season the two clubs met in a friendly at the Traeth with Aberystwyth snatching a very late victory by the odd goal. 14/06/14 CYFARFOD BLYNYDDOL / League AGM Am yr ail flwyddyn yn olynol enwyd CPD Porthmadog yn Glwb y Flwyddyn yn y Cyfarfod Blynyddol ar Y Traeth. Mae’r wobr hon, sydd yn cael ei phleidleisio gan y clybiau, yn adlewyrchu’n dda ar waith caled y swyddogion a’r gwirfoddolwyr. Enwyd rhaglen Derwyddon Cefn yn rhaglen orau’r tymor gyda un Port yn ail -un pwynt yn unig tu ôl. Llongyfarchiadau i Lee Dixon rheolwr Caernarfon a enwyd yn rheolwr y tymor ac i Danny Barton (Cegidfa) chwaraewr y tymor. Caersws enillodd y wobr am Chwarae Teg. Cadarnhawyd mai Y Wyddgrug, Dinbych a Llandrindod sydd yn cael eu dyrchafu gyda Penrhyn coch a Llanrhaeadr yn colli eu lle. For the second successive season Porthmadog were named Club of the Season in the League AGM held at the Traeth. The manager of the season award went to Lee Dixon manager of Caernarfon Town.Congratulations to Lee and to Danny Barton the player of the season. Caersws are the winners of the Fair Play award. Ymunodd Iwan a Chaersws yn 2012 o glwb Y Bermo gan wneud enw iddo’i hun yn y Cymru Alliance fel chwaraewr ifanc a thalent eithriadol. Meddai Craig, “Rwyf wrth fy modd fod Iwan wedi arwyddo a hynny er fod nifer o glybiau eraill wedi bod mewn cysylltiad efo fo ond ni sydd wedi llwyddo i’w arwyddo. Mae o’n chwaraewr talentog fydd yn cryfhau ac yn ychwanegu safon i’n carfan. Edrychaf ymlaen i weithio efo Iwan. Ychwanegodd, “Mae Iwan yn chwaraewr canol cae cyflym, cryf a chraff. Mae ganddo ddigonedd o ynni a chyflymder a bydd yn ychwanegu pwer i’r tîm. Rwan rwy’n edrych ymlaen i’r bennod newydd hon yn fy ngyrfa.” Craig Papirnyk has announced his first signing, Iwan Lewis from Caersws FC, who gave impressive performances against us last season. Iwan, who arrived at Caersws in 2012 joining from Barmouth FC, has built up a reputation as a exceptionally talented young footballer in the Cymru Alliance. A very pleased Craig said, “I am delighted that Iwan has signed for us as I know that other top clubs have been in contact with him but we have managed to sign him. Mae Thomas wedi cynrychioli carfan Academi Canolbarth Cymru o dan 14 oed. Roedd Thomas i lawr ym Mharc y Ddraig, Casnewydd ar ddechrau'r wythnos hon ar gyfer gemau yn erbyn y cymdeithasau ardal eraill yng Nghymru yn y Cymru Cup. Da iawn Thomas a phob lwc iti. Congratulations to Thomas Collins, who plays for the Porthmadog Academy on his recent success. Thomas has represented the Central Wales Academy squad at Under-14 level. Well done Thomas and best of luck in the future. 07/06/14 PORT yn CWPAN WORD / PORT draw the CHAMPS Yn rownd gyntaf Cwpan Word pencampwyr Uwch Gynghrair Cymru, TNS, bydd yn ymweld â’r Traeth. Tynnwyd yr enwau yng Nghyfarfod Blynyddol UGC yn Abertawe heddiw. Gêm anodd a dweud y lleiaf ond yn rhoi her go iawn i’r chwaraewyr yn gynnar yn y tymor ac i’r cefnogwyr mae’n gêm ddeniadol yn erbyn clwb proffesiynol. Bydd y gemau yn cael eu chwarae o’r 11 Awst. Sicrhaodd Port eu lle yn y gystadleuaeth yn un o chwe clwb o Gynghrair Huws Gray. Mae yna pedwar clwb yn sicrhau lle arbennig i’w hunain –Llanidloes, Dinbych, Y Barri a Merthyr – sydd yn dod a’r nifer yn y gystadleuaeth i 28. Mae’r pedwar clwb a aeth i’r rownd cynderfynol llynedd yn mynd yn syth i’r ail rownd. Port have been given a home draw against WPL champions TNS in the opening round of the Word Cup. The draw was made at the Welsh Premier AGM in Swansea today. A difficult draw to say the least but it gives the players an early season challenge and for supporters the visit of a professional club. The matches in the first round are to be played from 11 August. Port qualify as one of six HGA clubs in the competition. There are also four wildcard entries –Llanidloes, Denbigh Town, Barry and Merthyr- which brings the total entry to 28 clubs. Last season’s semi-finalists receive a bye into the second round. 04/06/14 CYFARFOD BLYNYDDOL y Gynghrair / LEAGUE AGM at Porthmadog CPD Porthmadog fydd yn croesawu swyddogion Cynghrair Huws Gray a chynrychiolwyr y clybiau i’w Cyfarfod Blynyddol y Gynghrair eleni -2014. League Officials and Club representatives will meet the Clubhouse on Saturday, 14 June. The HGA’s Annual Awards will be made at the meeting. 02/06/14 Port i chwarae ABERYSTWYTH / Port to face ABERYSTWYTH Mae Craig Papirnyk wedi cadarnhau ychwanegiad at y rhestr o gemau cyfeillgar cyn-dymor a fydd yn golygu dechrau arni wythnos a hanner yn gynt ar 21 Mehefin. Y gwrthwynebwyr fydd Aberystwyth, a bydd y gêm yn rhan o’u paratoadau am eu gemau Ewropeaidd ar y 3ydd a’r 10fed o Orffennaf. Bydd hyn yn golygu bod yn rhaid i’r chwaraewyr ddechrau ar eu hymarferion cyn-dymor rŵan cyn i Craig gynnal ei sesiynau ymarfer cyntaf ers cymryd yr awenau fel rheolwr yn yr wythnos cyn y gêm. Bydd hwn yn sicr o fod yn brawf mawr i’r garfan, yn enwedig mor fuan yn ein paratoadau am y tymor newydd. Bydd y gêm yn cael ei chwarae ar Goedlan y Parc, Aberystwyth, gyda’r gic gyntaf am 2.30pm. Craig Papirnyk has confirmed an addition to the list of pre-season fixtures, which will mean playing our opening friendly a week and a half sooner on 21 June. The opponents will be Aberystwyth, and the game will form part of the build-up for their European matches on the 3rd & 10th of July. This means that the players have to start their pre-season training now before Craig holds his firs training sessions since taking up the reigns as manager in the week leading up to the match. This will certainly be a big test for the squad, particularly as it comes so soon in our preparations for the new season. The match will be played at Aberystwyth’s Park Avenue, with kick off at 2.30pm. 30/05/14 COFIWCH Y TWTIO / DON’T FORGET CLEAN-UP DAY Cofiwch mae’n DDIWRNOD TWTIO ar y Traeth yfory (Sadwrn). Bydd y clwb yn ddiolchgar am bob cymorth. Os fedrwch rhoi awr neu ddwy –bore neu pnawn- galwch heibio’r Traeth. Bydd Phil yn siwr o gael hyd i swydd ddefnyddiol ichi! Don’t forget its CLEAN-UP day at the Traeth tomorrow (Saturday). All help would be appreciated. If you can spare an hour or two –morning or afternoon- call by at the Traeth. Un o’r gemau sydd wedi’i hychwanegu ydy gêm yn erbyn Rhuthun, un o gyn glybiau Craig. “Bydd yn brawf da. Mae’r clwb yn ail adeiladu ar ôl colli eu lle yn y Cymru Alliance ac yn eu hwyliau ar ôl ennill Cwpan y Gynghrair ac ond methu allan ar Gwpan y Gogledd Ddwyrain yn erbyn Derwyddon Cefn o 2-0.” “Bydd yn gêm ddiddorol yn y canolbarth hefyd yn erbyn Carno, clwb sydd bob amser yn ceisio chwarae pêl-droed yn y ffordd iawn.” Bydd ymarfer yn cychwyn ar 17 Mehefin. 3/7/14– Llangefni Town FC 7pm – Oddi cartref / AWAY 5/7/14 – Dolgellau (Meirionnydd select X1) 2.30pm –Oddi cartref / AWAY 15/7/14- I’w gadarnhau / To be confirmed . AWAY 19/7/14–– Carno FC Oddi cartref 2.30pm - AWAY 26/7/14– Rhuthun / Ruthin Town FC 2.30pm -TRAETH 30/7/14– Penrhyn 7pm – TRAETH 2/8/14– AFC Wulfrunians – 2.30pm– TRAETH 9/8/14– Salford City 2.30pm– TRAETH 16/8/14– Tymor yn cychwyn/LEAGUE KICKS OFF !!!!! Craig Papirnyk has confirmed his list of pre-season fixtures (see above) with only one fixture yet to be confirmed. “The games are set and I’m happy with them,” said Craig. One of the added fixtures is a game against former club Ruthin FC. “It will be a good test. They are rebuilding since being relegated from the Cymru Alliance and are on a high after winning the League Cup and narrowly missing out on NEWFA Cup this season, losing only 2-0 to Cymru Alliance champions Cefn Druids.” “Mid-Wales club Carno FC will provide an interesting game for us, they are a club who always try and play good football,“ he added. Training begins on the 17 June. 29/05/14 GÔL GYNTAF LEON / STRIKING START FOR LEON Mae blaenwr Port, Leon Newell wedi creu argraff yn syth ar ôl hedfan allan i Seland Newydd i ymuno â Melville United, clwb sy’n chwarae yng Nghynghrair y Gogledd. Sgoriodd Leon 12 gôl i Port y tymor diwethaf a dim ond 25 munud o’i gêm gyntaf oedd angen cyn canfod y rhwyd i’w glwb newydd. Trwy hyn helpodd Melville i sicrhau buddugoliaeth o 3-2 dros glwb yr Arfordir Hibiscus. Yn ôl adroddiadau yn Seland Newydd, Leon ydy’r cyntaf i sgorio yn ei gêm gyntaf ers i Mike Thompson wneud yr un fath ym mis Mai 2011. Chwaraeodd Thompson hefyd am gyfnod byr i Port cyn ymuno â’r Bala! Mae Leon hefyd yn dilyn Ceri James a adawodd Port yn 2010 i chwarae i Melville gan ddod yn chwaraewr allweddol i’r clwb a chael ei enwebu yn Chwaraewr y Flwyddyn. Porthmadog forward Leon Newell made an immediate impact after flying out to New Zealand to join Northern League club Melville United. The 20-year-old, who netted 12 goals for Port last season, needed just 25 minutes of his debut match to find the net again, helping his new club to a 3-2 victory over opponents Hibiscus Coast. Reports in New Zealand state he became “the first Melville player to net on debut since the irrepressible Mike Thompson in May 2011.” Mike Thompson also appeared briefly for Port before leaving to join Bala Town. Leon also follows Ceri James who left Port in 2010 to play for Melville United. Ceri became a key player for the Northern League club and was named their Player of the Year. 22/05/14 Mwy o baratoadau cyn-dymor / More pre-season preparations Mae Craig Papirnyk wedi cadarnhau gêm gyfeillgar ddiddorol at 2 Awst ar Y Traeth yn erbyn AFC Wulfrunians gyda’r gic gyntaf yn debygol o fod am 2 o’r gloch. Clwb sy’n chwarae yn y Midland Alliance ydy AFC Wulfrunians a orffennodd yn yr 8fed safle yn y tabl y tymor diwethaf mewn cynghrair a 22 o glybiau. Clwb o Castlecroft ger Wolverhampton ydy’r Wulfrunians. “Bydd chwarae yn erbyn tîm y gwyddom ni fawr ddim amdanynt yn dipyn o brawf,” meddai Craig. Yn siarad ar ran y clwb o Castlecroft dywedodd Paul Tudor, “Mae’r gêm hon yn rhan bwysig iawn o’n paratoadau, ac mae wedi’i fwriadu i ddod a’r tîm at eu gilydd ac i integreiddio unrhyw chwaraewyr newydd.” Gyda un neu ddwy o gemau da eraill ar y ffordd mae’n awgrymu fod yna gyfnod cyn-dymor diddorol o’n blaen. Craig Papirnyk has confirmed an interesting pre-season fixture for 2 August at the Traeth against AFC Wulfrunians with an expected 2pm kick off. AFC Wulfrunians play in the Midland Alliance League and last season finished 8th in a 22 club league. The Wulfrunians club are based at Castlecroft near Wolverhampton. “I think that playing against a side we know nothing about will be a real test,” commented Craig Papirnyk. Paul Tudor speaking for AFC Wulfrunians said, “The game is a very important part of our pre season schedule, and is designed for team bonding and integrating any new players.” With a couple more good games being lined-up it points to an interesting pre-season. 21/05/14 Cadarnhau gêm / Fixture confirmed Cadarnhawyd gan y rheolwr Craig Papirnyk mai ar 3 Gorffennaf bydd Port yn chwarae Llangefni mewn gêm cyn-dymor ar Ffordd Talwrn gyda’r gic gyntaf am 7 o’r gloch. Y tair gêm cyn-dymor sydd wedi’u cadarnhau: 3 Gorffennaf: Llangefni v Porthmadog 5 Gorffennaf: Porthmadog v Meirionnydd (yn Nolgellau) 30 Gorffennaf: Porthmadog v CPD Penrhyndeudraeth 9 Awst: Porthmadog v Salford City Manager Craig Papirnyk has confirmed that the pre-season game against Llangefni at Talwrn Road will be played on the 3rd of July with a 7.00pm kick off. Three pre-season friendlies have now been confirmed: 3 July: Llangefni v Port 5 July: Porthmadog v Meirionnydd Select (at Dolgellau) 30 July: Porthmadog v CPD Penrhyndeudraeth 9 August: Porthmadog v Salford City 19/05/14 GAIR gan PAPS / Statement from PAPS Dyma ddatganiad cyntaf ein reolwr newydd lle mae’n amlinellu y cyfeiriad mae o’n bwriadu symud iddo ac yn glir mae’n yn bwriadu adeiladu ar waith y tymor diwethaf gan symud hefyd i gryfhau ei garfan. Hefyd cawn ei benodiad cyntaf i’r stafell gefn. Fel mae Paps yn awgrymu -amser cyffrous i ddod! ‘I am really relishing this opportunity of managing at such a great club, some may say I lack experience however after promoting Barmouth in both the Caernarfon & District and Gwynedd Leagues and also managing the Leisure Centre, Barmouth in everyday life I feel I have the experience for what it takes to succeed in management’ ‘I would like to announce that Steve Smith will be joining my backroom staff , Steve who is Port through and through will add character to our dressing room, he has past experiences in managing at Barmouth, Pwllheli & Caernarfon, Steve was also a top player in his day. I would like a link to the community of Porthmadog, and having Steve with me will show the people of the town in what direction we are trying to go, I will hopefully be adding more names to my Management staff and playing staff in the next month leading up to pre-season’ ‘I feel that exciting times are ahead for Porthmadog FC and the ultimate objective will be to get the club back to where it belongs in the Welsh Premier League , doing it with the best local talent around’ ‘We will be playing a similar style of football to what was witnessed towards the end of last season and looking to build on a good run of form at the season’s end, having spoken to the current squad before making my decision it was clear that I had the players support, I will be looking to add to this current squad which will in my opinion only strengthen us as a team’ ‘I would like to thank the Chairman and board for giving me this opportunity, in the words of our chairman ‘COME ON PORT’ ‘I cannot wait to get started’ Paps Above is our new manager’s first statement of intent, outlining the direction he intends to take the club and clearly he is looking to build on last season’s work, looking to strengthen and develop his squad further. We also have his first backroom appointment. As Paps says –exciting times ahead! |
