Today’s game at Denbigh has been postponed following a 10am inspection. There will be a 10 am pitch inspection at Denbigh tomorrow (Sat.). Check Twitter. Website for latest news. 18/01/18 Rhagolwg: Dinbych / Preview: Denbigh Town Pnawn Sadwrn bydd Port yn teithio I Ddinbych I chwarae’r tîm sy’n 3ydd yn y tabl. Bydd yn brawf go-iawn ond gall Port ddod i’r gêm gyda llawer o hyder yn dilyn eu perfformiadau diweddar, tair buddugoliaeth yn olynol gan sgorio 14 o goliau a cadw dwy lechen lân. Yn y gemau yma dychwelodd Joe Chaplin o anaf gan daro cefn y rhwyd yn syth â mynd a’i gyfanswm am y tymor i 20 gôl. Daw’r gêm yn Ninbych a Joe wyneb yn wyneb â chyn streicar Port, sef Josh Davies sydd hefyd wedi bod ar dân yn sgorio’n ddiweddar. Mae canlyniadau diweddar Dinbych yn debyg iawn i rai Port, sgorio 5 gôl ar y Belle Vue a 6 yn Cyffordd ond mynd i drafferth yn Rhuthun. Canu cloch tybed? Canlyniad sy’n tynnu sylw, ydy’r gêm gyfartal a chawsant yn erbyn Caernarfon ond ddim heb rhywfaint o siom fod eu mantais o 3-1 wedi’i ollwng. Yn y gêm gyfatebol ar Y Traeth, Dinbych oedd yn fuddugol o 4-3 diolch i dair gôl sydyn ar y naill ochr i’r hanner amser. Allai fod yn gêm gyffrous eto pnawn Sadwrn, gyda digon o goliau, felly edrychwn ymlaen i’ch gweld yno. Cofiwch! C’mon Port! On Saturday Port travel to Denbigh to take on 3rd placed club at Central Park. This will be a real test but Port can take plenty of confidence from their three-match winning run scoring 14 goals and keeping two clean sheets. These games also marked the return of Joe Chaplin from injury and great to see him hitting the net to reach 20 goals for the season. The game at Central Park will bring him in direct opposition to former Port striker Josh Davies who, like Joe, has been in great form this season. Recent Denbigh results show a certain similarity to those recorded by Port. They scored 5 goals at Belle Vue scored 6 against Junction but came unstuck at Ruthin. Ring any bells? Their standout result was perhaps the drawn game with league leaders Caernarfon Town but not without some disappointment at seeing a 3-1 advantage disappear. In the corresponding game at the Traeth. Denbigh won a high scoring game by 4-3 thanks to a burst of 3 goals either side of half-time. It could be another high scoring thriller so see you all there. C’mon Port! 18/01/18 Cyrsiau TG am ddim wedi ail ddechrau / FREE IT courses have restarted Mae y cyrsiau TG a fu mor llwyddiannus llynedd wedi ail ddechrau yng Nghanolfan Sgiliau Osian Roberts ar y Traeth. Yn bresennol fydd Busnes Cymru, , adrannau datblygu economaidd Cyngor Gwynedd, Coleg Meirion Dwyfor, Canolfan Cydweithredol Cymru, Gwasanaeth Cefnogaeth mewn Gwaith ac Adran Gwaith a Phensiynau y Llywodraeth. Yn ôl Louise Todd, swyddog hyrwyddo cyfleusterau hyfforddi a datblygu Sgiliau y Clwb, “bydd y Ffair yn parhau rhwng 3yp a 7yn. Y bwriad yw bod mor anffurfiol a phosib ac nid oes angen gwneud unrhyw fath o apwyntiad. Os bydd angen sesiwn trafod un i un gyda rhai o’r swyddogion gellir gwneud hynny mewn ystafell arwahan. Bydd pob corff o unrhyw sylwedd sydd yn cynnig cefnogaeth ymarferol i fusnes yno. Cynhelir y Ffair yn y clwb cymdeithasol a Chanolfan Sgiliau Osian Roberts ar y Traeth ac mae digonedd o lefydd parcio yn rhad ac am ddim!” Yn ol swyddog marchnata y Clwb, Dylan Rees, “Mae gennym dros 200 o fusnesau lleol sydd yn noddi neu hysbysebu gyda’r clwb, y mwyafrif ohonynt wedi gwneud hynny ers blynyddoedd. Dyma un ymdrech fach i roi rhywbeth yn ol iddynt, gan obeithio y cawn gefnogaeth, wybodaeth neu gyngor a all fod o fudd i’w busnes” A Business Fair will be held at the Traeth on Wednesday 31st of January between 3pm and 7pm. The event is a joint effort between the club, the Welsh Government’s Business Wales support agency, the economic development departments of Gwynedd Council, Coleg Meirion Dwyfor, Wales Co-operative Centre, In Work Support Service as well as the Government’s Department for Work and Pensions. According to Louise Todd, the officer responsible for promoting the Club’s meeting, training and skills development facilities “The aim is to be as informal as possible, it is a drop in event with no need for an appointment. If a confidential one-to-one session is required then we have separate rooms to accommodate that. The business support organisations that have signed up for the event cover the whole spectrum of business activities and visitors can talk to officers informally. The event will be held in our social club and Osian Roberts Skills Centre and there is ample free parking space”. According to the club’s marketing officer Dylan Rees “ We have over 200 businesses that support us through advertising and sponsorship, many of them for years, and this event is but a small gesture to thank them for this. We hope that by visiting local businesses will receive information and advice that could help them to develop their enterprises” 17/01/18 Targedau Joe / Targets for Joe Mae Joe Chaplin wedi cyrraedd y targed nodedig o 20 gôl am y tymor, a hynny mewn 17 o gemau cynghrair a chwpan. Bellach mae yna nifer o targedau pwysig o fewn ei gyrraedd. Y cyfanswm goliau gorau yn ddiweddar oedd 22 mewn 32 o gemau gan Josh Davies yn 2014/15. Os wnaiff Joe barhau i sgorip ar yr un raddfa, bydd cyfanswm Josh yn cael ei guro yn weddol fuan. Y targed nesa’ iddo, fydd y 24 gôl a sgoriodd Paul Roberts mewn 30 gêm yn 2010/11 a wedyn beth am 26 o goliau gan Carl Owen yn y tymor gwych yn 2002/03 pan sicrhawyd dyrchafiad? Yn 2008/09 rhwydodd Marc Lloyd Williams 27 o goliau mewn 38 o gemau a hynny yn Uwch Gynghrair Cymru. Ond bydd un targed yn amhosib i’w gyrraedd, a hynny wrth gwrs ydy cyfanswm anhygoel Dave Taylor yng Nghynghrair Cymru yn 1992/93; 43 o goliau mewn 38 o gemau. Ydy hi’n bosib i unrhyw chwaraewr gyrraedd y cyfanswm yma? Mae maint y targed yn enfawr a cofiwch 28 o gemau cynghrair fydd eleni tra roedd 20 clwb yng Nghynghrair Cymru yn 1992/93. Dal ati Joe! Joe Chaplin has reached the notable target of 20 goals for the season and these have come in 17 league and cup games played. He now has several impressive goal tallies within his sights. The best in recent seasons was that of Josh Davies who netted 22 goals in 32 games in 2014/15. If Joe maintains anything like his current strike rate then that total will be surpassed quite soon. The next target will be the 24 goals in 30 games scored by Paul Roberts in season 2010/11 followed by the 26 goals netted by Carl Owen in the promotion winning season of 2002/03. Yet another Port super striker, Marc Lloyd Williams, reached 27 goals in 38 games in 2008/09 but that was in the Welsh Prem. One target however looks unreachable and that of course is Dave Taylor’s phenomenal 43 goals in 38 League of Wales games back in 1992/93. Can this tally ever be equalled? Two factors come into play here, the first the size of the target and secondly it should be remembered that there will only be 28 HGA fixtures this season while back in 1993/94 there were 20 clubs in the League of Wales. Keep scoring Joe!! 16/01/18 Llwyddiant Cynllun Pêl-droed Merched / Girls Football Development programme Hanes o lwyddiant bu cyflwyno’r rhaglen Datblygu Pêl-droed Merched. Hyn yn gam pwysig yn cael ei arwain gan Gethin Jones a chynllun Pêl-droed yn y Gymuned y clwb. Cychwynnodd y cynllun yn Hydref 2017. Bu’r rhaglen yn boblogaidd iawn gan dyfu yn sydyn. Dros gyfnod o dri mis bu 262 o ferched yn cymryd rhan. Cychwynwyd y cyfan gyda ‘Sesiynau Blasu’ mewn 25 o ysgolion gwahanol a chyn hir bydd yna 5 arall yn cael eu hychwanegu, gan gyrraedd y targed o 30 ysgol. Yn ogystal mae 108 o ferched wedi dod i’r sesiynau ‘ Dewch i Chwarae’ a gynhaliwyd yn Ne Gwynedd. Bellach mae tri lleoliad, a chyn diwed y mis, bydd un hefyd ym Mlaenau Ffestiniog. Yn ystod misoedd y gaeaf cynhelir y sesiynau o dan do. Mae’r datblygiad hefyd wedi arwain at wella sgiliau hyfforddwyr a gwrfoddolwyr. Mae Gethin yn canmol cyfraniad cwmni ‘Seren’ a dywedodd hefyd fod cydweithrediad yr awdurdod lleol yn allweddol i lwyddiant y cynllun. Cafwyd cefnogaeth ariannol gan yr Ymddiriedolaeth Bêl-droed a hefyd derbyniwyd yn ddiolchgar gyfraniadau gan Comic Relief, Cartrefi Gofal Gwynedd a Cartrefi Cymdeithasol Cynefin. Cafwyd cymorth hefyd gan fyfyrwyr a gwirfoddolwyr o Goleg Meirion Dwyfor. Daliwch Ati! C’mon Port! An important development by the club’s Football in the Community scheme this season, has been the Girls’ Development Programme. This has been spearheaded by Gethin Jones and has been a success story. It commenced in October 2017. It has seen a rapid growth in popularity. Over the past three months 262 girls have taken part. These started with ‘Taster Sessions’ which have been held in 25 schools and soon five more will be added to reach the target number of 30 schools. In addition 108 girls have attended ‘Turn-up and Play Hubs’ in South Gwynedd. There are now three of these and another will be added at Blaenau Ffestiniog by the end of January. These sessions, in the winter months, have moved to indoor facilities. The initiative has also seen an increase in both coaches and volunteers, who have also been able to improve their skills. Gethin praised the contribution of ‘Seren’ and added that the co-operation of the local authroity was key to the success of the scheme. The financial support received has also been vital. A grant was made by the Welsh Football Trust and further finance has been gratefully received from Comic Relief, Bangor University, Cartrefi Gofal Gwynedd and Cynefin Social Housing Group. Coleg Meirion Dwyfor have also assisted, helping to meet the growing demand by providing students and volunteers. Good Luck! C’mon Port! 14/01/18 Dan 18 drwodd / U18s go through Mae tymor llwyddianus y tîm Dan 18 yn parhau, wrth i’r hogiau sicrhau eu lle yn rownd cynderfynol Cwpan Cynghrair Dan 18 Dyffryn Clwyd a Chonwy, a churo Hotspyrs Caergybi o 3-0 ar y Traeth heddiw. Aeth Port ar y blaen ar ôl 13 munud wrth i Arwyn Jones rhwydo cic rhydd Math Roberts. ( Daeth Math i’r cae i’r tîm cyntaf yn ddiweddar). Cyfunodd y ddau eto ar ôl 39 munud i ddybli’r fantais gyda Arwyn yn sgorio ei ail. 2-0 oedd y sgôr ar ddiwedd hanner cyntaf lle hefyd darodd Port y bar deirgwaith a Rhys Hughes a Sion Roberts yn rhoi’r bêl yn y rhwyd ond y ddau yn camsefyll. Yn yr ail hanner ychwanegodd Sion Roberts y 3ydd gôl i Port, a dyna oedd y sgôr terfynnol 3-0. Da iawn hogiau! The successful U18s were back in action today after their Christmas break. taking on Holyhead Hotspurs in a Vale of Clwyd League Cup tie. A strong first half performance saw them go ahead after 13 minutes when Math Roberts -who made an excellent recent first team sub debut- crossed a free kick for Arwyn Jones to volley into the net. The same pairing combined again on 39 mins to put Port 2-0 a head. This deserved lead was how it remained at half-time. In addition, Port had struck the bar on three occasions and both Rhys Hughes and Sion Roberts netted only to be ruled offside. In the second period Sion Roberts completed the scoring to make the final score 3-0 to Port. The win puts the team through to the semi-final of the competition. 14/01/18 Draw Wythnosol / Weekly Draw. Bu’r ddau glwb yn chwarae’u gilydd yn lled rheolaidd ers cychwyn Cynghrair Cymru yn ôl yn 1992. Daw Port i’r gêm ar gefn dau berfformiad cry’, yn rhwydo 12 gôl yn y ddwy gêm. Dangoswyd ysbryd a sgil ar y Belle Vue mewn diweddglo anhygoel, gan yrru’r nifer dda o gefnogwyr teithiol adre yn hapus tu hwnt. Os fethoch fod yn Y Rhyl gwnewch yn siwr eich bod ar Y Traeth pnawn Sadwrn rhag ofn ichi fethu rhywbeth arbennig. Eisoes cyfarfu’r ddau glwb y tymor hwn gyda Port yn teithio i Gaersws ac yn sicrhau buddugoliaeth 5-2 anarferol o ddi-drafferth. Tymor siomedig fi hwn i Gaersws, yn codi ond 8 pwynt drwy’r tymor. On Saturday Caersws will be the visitors to the Traeth. Port and Caersws have enjoyed a keen rivalry over many seasons with regular fixtures going back to the inception of the League of Wales. Port come into this game on the back of two strong performances and netting a total of 12 goals in the two games. The spirit and skill shown at the Belle Vue, with that rousing finale, sending the large travelling support home on Cloud 9. If you couldn’t be at Rhyl then make sure you are at the Traeth on Saturday in case you miss out on something special. Joe Chaplin marked his return with a hat-trick, a great strike by Sion Bradley and to cap it all a Sion Edwards special to win the game. To call Sion’s wonder goal the goal of the season is an understatement, so be there on Saturday just in case lightning strikes again. The two clubs have already met this season with Port travelling to Caersws in early September when they had an unusually comfortable 5-2 victory. >br> Caersws are having a surprisingly difficult season with just 8 points picked up this season. They will be looking to add to this total on Saturday. Despite the fact that they appear to be struggling up to now, it would be extremely foolish to underestimate any Caersws team and certainly one managed by Graham Evans.>br> C’mon Port! 10/01/18 Leon yn ymuno â Cyffordd ar fenthyg / Leon joins Junction on loan Mae Leon Doran yn mynd allan ar fenthyg i glwb Cyffordd Llandudno. Mae gnddo’r gallu i wella ymhellach. “Iddo wneud hyn rhaid iddo gael chwarae’n rheolaidd a cawsom sgwrs iawn ynglyn a hyn. Caiff wella ei ffitrwydd yn Cyffordd a chael profiad gwerthfawr wrth chwarae yn y Cymru Alliance a hyn sydd angen arno. “Hwn ydy tymor cyntaf Leon ar y lefel yma ac mae wedi gwneud yn dda iawn. Rwan gall fynd allan a mwynhau y profiad yn Cyffordd ac, wrth edrych at ei ddyfodol yn y gêm, rwy’n gwybod y bydd yn elwa cymaint o hyn.” Leon Dorawill be signing on loan with Llandudno Junction this week. Craig Papirnyk says, “He is a young player who has lots of potential and as we have seen in his performances for us has the ability to become even better. “For him to improve he needs to be playing regularly and we have had an honest chat about this , he will get match fitness and also invaluable playing experience at Junction in the CA, something he really needs. “This is Leon’s 1st season in senior football and he has done very well and can now go and enjoy this experience with Junction. I know he will personally get a lot from the experience, which will only help him in the future.” 09/01/18 Uchafbwyntiau o'r Rhyl / Rhyl Highlights. Mae angen y newid oherwydd difrod i’r goleuadau. Supporters should note that Saturday’s game Rhyl will kick off at the earlier time of 2pm. This change is necessary because of damage to the floodlights at Belle Vue. 04/01/18 Rhagolwg / Preview: Rhyl FC Pnawn Sadwrn fydd Port yn teithio I’r Rhyl lle fydd y gic gyntaf am 2 o’r gloch. Y Sadwrn diwethaf cafwyd pwyntiau gwerthfawr mewn buddugoliaeth o 7-0 dros Cyffordd Llandudno i ddringo’r tabl unwaith eto ar ôl llithro yn ddiweddar. Bydd y gêm ar y Belle vue yn sialens wahanol iawn gan fod Y Rhyl wedi gwella eu perfformiadau ers i Mark Connolly gymryd yr awenau. Y Sadwrn diwethaf cawsant fuddugoliaeth dda dros Treffynnon gan ei symud i’r 3ydd safle yn y tabl. Pan cyfarfu’r ddau ar Y Traeth ym mis Awst efallai fod Port wedi dangos gormod o barch i’w gwrthwynebwyr a cyfartal oedd y sgôr, wedi i Joe Cahplin dod a’r ddau yn gyfartal ar ôl i Tony Davies roi Y Rhyl ae y blaen. Mae canlyniadau,, diweddar Y Rhyl yn cynnwys tair buddugoliaeth, gêm gyfartal ddi-sgôr yn Cegidfa a cholli adre’ o 5-3 i Ddinbych. Alex Titchiner ydy eu prif sgoriwr gyda 9 gôl ac mae’r garfan wedi newid dipyn ers i Commolly ddod yn rheolwr. Newydion diweddara : Matthew Jones yw rheolwr newydd Y Rhyl. Mark Connolly yn Gyfarwyddwr Pêl-droed. Gyda Port yn edrych i symud i’r chwech uchaf gyddai gêm haws wedi helpu ond bydd dal ati a codi pwyntiau yn bwysig iawn. C’mon Port!! On Saturday Port travel to play Rhyl at the Belle Vue Ground where there will be a 2pm kick off. Last Saturday’s high scoring win at home to Llandudno Junction has provided much needed points to start the climb back up the table. Saturday’s game will, however provide a very different kind of challenge as Rhyl have made considerable progress since appointing Mark Connolly as their manager. Last Saturday’s excellent win over an in-form Holywell Town has seen them ease themselves into 3rd place in the table. When the two clubs met at the Traeth back in August, Port perhaps showed their opponents a little too much respect but, after going behind to a Tony Davies goal in the first-half, drew level thanks to a Joe Chaplin equaliser after the interval, and the scores remained level at the end. Rhyl’s recent results show three wins, a goalless draw with Guilsfield and a defeat at home to Denbigh, when they also conceded five goals. Alex Titchiner, with 9 goals, is Rhyl’s leading scorer, in a squad which has undergone considerable change under temporary manager Connolly. Latest: Matthew Jones has been appointed Rhyl manager with Mark Connolly becoming Director of Football. With Port looking to move into the top six they would have wished for an easier fixture, but continuing to pick up points is now vitally important. C’mon Port!! 03/01/18 Munud o Dawelwch / Minute’s Silence Bu Munud o Dawelwch ar Y Traeth pnawn Sadwrn diwethaf er cof am ddau gefnogwr ffyddlon a brwd, a hynny dros gyfnod hir iawn. Y ddau oedd John Griffiths o Penrhyn a David Poyser, Bryncir. Coffa da iawn am y ddau. Mewn neges i’r ysgrifennydd, dywedodd Myra Poyser fod deall i‘r clwb gofio ei gwr, David Poyser, gyda munud o dawelwch, wedi’i chyffwrdd yn fawr. Dywedodd mai mynd i’r Traeth i weld Port oedd y tro olaf iddo fynd am dro allan, byddai wedi’i theimlo’n anrhydedd cael ei gofio fel hyn. Dywedodd fod y weithred hon yn golygu llawer iawn i’r teulu. Roedd y gêm hefyd yn cael ei noddi gan deulu Bernie Smith, un arall o’n cefnogwyr ffyddlon, er cof amdano. There was a Minute’s Silence on Saturday as a mark of respect to two Traeth regulars who have sadly passed away recently. They were John Griffiths of Penrhyn and David Poyser of Bryncir. In a message to club secretary, Rob Bennett, Dav[d’s wife Myra Poyser said, “ I was really touched to hear that the club held a minutes silence at the football match last Saturday to remember my husband David Poyser who had been a long time supporter of the club. His last outing was to watch Portmadog play and he would have been extremely honoured to know that he was so well thought of. Thankyou so much, it means a lot to our family and will be gratefully remembered in future years.” The game also remembered Bernie Smith and his family sponsored the match in his memory. 02/01/18 Pedwar yn Taro Deg / Four at the Double Wrth edrych yn ôl ar y tymor hyd yma, mae un peth yn sefyll allan, a hynny ydy’r nifer fawr o sgoriau uchel a gafwyd. Rym yn cyrraedd troad y flwyddyn gyda 4 chwaraewyr eisoes wedi cyrraedd 1o gol neu fwy am y tymor hyd yn hyn. Y Sadwrn diwethaf gwelwyd Julian Williams yn cyrraedd 12 gyda’i hatric a Sion Bradley, gyda gôl wych, yn taro’r deg. Mae’r ddau yn ymuno â Joe Chaplin, sydd ar 16 gôl er fod anaf wedi arafu pethau iddo dros dro. Y llall ydy Cai Jones a sgoriodd ei 10 fed yn erbyn Caernarfon. Ni fydd Meilir Williams yn hir cyn ymuno, a hynny er mai wrth ddod o’r fainc daeth y rhan fwyaf o’i goliau. Y tymor diwethaf a hefyd yn 2015/16 Julian Williams, ar 11 gôl, oedd yr unig un i gyrraedd ffigwr dwbl. Dominyddwyd y sgorio gan Josh Davies yn 2014/15 yn rhwydo 22 gôl ond yr ail orau oedd Dave Edwards â 6 gôl. Yn wir, rhaid mynd yn ôl i 2013/14 i gael hyd i ail chwaraewr yn sgorio 10 neu fwy, pan gyrhaeddodd Carl Owen (13) a Leon Newell (12) y marc. Llwyddod tri i wneud hyn yn 2011/12; Darren Thomas (17), Craig Roberts (12) a Rhys Roberts (10). Yn sicr mae’r buddugoliaethau mawr yng Nghwpan Cymru wedi bod yn gyfle i chwyddo’r cyfanswm goliau ond yn y gynghrair hefyd cafwyd 9 yn erbyn Queen’s Park a 7, ar ddau achlysur, yn erbyn Cyffordd Llandudno a 5 yng Nghaersws. Nid cyd ddigwyddiad ydy hi fod torfeydd Port ar i fyny yn sylweddol y tymor hwn. Looking back at the season so far and one feature stands out; that is the high scoring exploits of the club. We reached the turn of the year with 4 players having reached 10 goals or more for the season up to that point. Last Saturday’s hat-trick brought Julian Williams up to 12 and Sion Bradley reached 10 with a super strike late on. They join Joe Chaplin, whose free scoring season has been temporarily stalled by injury, and Cai Jones, who reached 10 with a second-half goal at the Oval. It is only a matter of time before Meilir Williams joins them, having scored 9 already, despite mainly coming from the bench to do so. Last season and 2015/16, Julian Williams, with 11 goals each time, was the only Port player to reach double figures. In 2014/15. Josh Davies dominated the scoring charts with 22 goals but the next best was Dave Edwards with 6. In fact, we have to go back to 2013/14 to find a second player achieving double figures, when Carl Owen (13) and Leon Newell (12) topped the Port scoring charts. In 2011/12 there were three; Darren Thomas (17), Craig Roberts (12) and Rhys Roberts (10). Big Welsh Cup wins have boosted the scoring levels with 7 against Panteg and 10 against Penley but in the League 9 were netted against Queen’s Park and 7 in both fixtures with Llandudno Junction and 5 at Caersws. It is perhaps no coincidence that gates have been markedly up this season. 29/12/17 Tote mis Rhagfyr / December Tote Y rhifau lwcus yn Tote mis Rhagfyri oedd 20 a 29.
