24/02/09 Lotri Wythnosol 20/02/09 / Weekly Draw 20/02/09 Enillydd yr wobr o £100 yn y Lotri Wythnosol a dynnwyd ar nos Wener 20 Chwefror oedd rhif 112, Jean Jones o Borthmadog. Cofiwch ei bod yn bosibl i chi gymryd rhan drwy lawr-lwytho a llenwi’r ffurfleni isod. Ffurflen Gais / Application Form | Mandad Archeb Sefydlog / Standing Order Mandate The winner of the £100 prize in the Weekly Draw on Friday 20 February was number 112, Jean Jones of Porthmadog. Remember that you can take part by downloading completing the above forms. 19/02/09 Llwyddiant i gyn-chwaraewr / Success for ex-player Mae cyn amddiffynnwr Port, John Gwynfor yn mwynhau cryn lwyddiant yn ei dymor cyntaf fel rheolwr Nefyn yn y Welsh Alliance. Ar ôl cipio gwobr rheolwr y mis ar gyfer mis Ionawr, mae tîm John wedi sicrhau lle yn rownd gynderfynol Tlws y Gymdeithas Bêl-droed. Byddant yn wynebu Penycae o Gynghrair Ardal Wrecsam ddydd Sadwrn, ac rydym yn dymuno pob lwc iddynt yn y gêm fawr hon. Ar ôl cael dechrau mor addawol i’w yrfa fel rheolwr, efallai y bydd yn dychwelyd i’r Traeth fel rheolwr rhyw ddydd! Ex-Port defender, John Gwynfor is enjoying some success in his first season as manager of Welsh Alliance club Nefyn United. Having picked up the manager of the month award for January, John’s team has earned a place in the semi-final of the FAW Trophy. They face Penycae of the Wrexham Area League on Saturday, and we wish them all the best in this big match. After having such a promising start to his career as manager, who would bet against him returning to the Traeth some day as a manager! 18/02/09 Rhagolwg: v Derwyddon Cefn / Preview: v Cefn Druids Bydd y ddau glwb yn dechrau’r gêm hon ar gefn perfformiadau da iawn dros y penwythnos diwethaf lle gallai’r ddau, gyda ychydig o lwc, fod wedi cipio’r triphwynt yn erbyn clybiau yn y Tri Uchaf. Mae record Port â’r Derwyddon eleni yn rhai tebyg iawn. Mae’r ddau glwb wedi sgorio dipyn yn fwy o goliau na chlybiau eraill yn rhan isaf y tabl –Port gyda 39 a’r Derwyddon 38- ond mae’r ddau hefyd wedi gadael gormod o lawer i fewn –Port 64 a’r Derwyddon 58. Er bod y ddau glwb yn medru pwyntio at berfformiadau da ar rhai adegau maent ar y cyfan wedi bod yn llawer rhy anghyson. Cyfarfu’r ddau glwb yn Plaskynaston mewn amgylchiadau tebyg at ddiwedd y tymor diwethaf pan gawsom gêm gyfartal braidd yn ddiflas. Yn y gêm ar Y Traeth ynghynt yn y tymor dangoswyd gwendidau amddiffynnol Port wrth i’r Derwyddon fynd 3 ar y blaen yn y chwarter awr cyntaf. Ond mae amddiffyn Port wedi edrych tipyn yn gryfach yn y gemau diwethaf yn erbyn Bangor a TNS a’r gwelliant hwn sy’n rhoi gobaith i Port ar gyfer nos Wener. Bydd Steve Kehoe unwaith eto ar gael, yn dilyn gwaharddiad, a phrif sgoriwr Y Derwyddon, Ricky Evans (8 gôl), hefyd ar gael. Ewch i i roi bet ar Porthmadog v Derwyddon Cefn NEWI. Both sides enter this vital relegation match on the back of fighting performances last weekend against Top 3 opposition when both with a bit of luck could have picked up all three points. In some ways the Druids and Port have similar records this season. Both clubs have scored far more goals than other clubs in the lower reaches –Port with 39 and Druids with 38- but both have also conceded heavily – Port conceding 64 and Druids 58. Though both clubs can claim some good wins this season, overall they have been far too inconsistent. The two sides also met in similar circumstances towards the end of last season when they fought out a rather dour draw. In the game at the Traeth between the two clubs, earlier in the season, Port’s defensive frailties were badly exposed conceding three in the opening 15 minutes. Port’s defence, however, has looked far stronger in the games against Bangor and TNS and there lies their main hope for success on Friday. Port will have Steve Kehoe available after suspension, while Druids will have their leading scorer Ricky Evans (8goals) available again. Visit to place a bet on Porthmadog v NEWI Cefn Druids. 17/02/09 Beth am chwarae eto ar y Sul? / Should Port play on a Sunday again? Yn ei nodiadau golygyddol yn y rhaglen (gan gyfeirio at y gêm yn erbyn TNS) dywedodd ysgrifennydd y clwb, Gerallt Owen, fod y clwb "... yn awyddus i weld os fyddai (chwarae) ambell gêm ar y Sul yn denu torf fwy." Gan fod 317 ar Y Traeth ddydd Sul mae’n edrych yn debyg y gall y bwrdd roi fwy o ystyriaeth i’r pwnc gan mai hwn oedd ail dorf ucha’r tymor ar ôl y 409 a ddenwyd i’r gêm ddarbi yn erbyn Bangor. Wrth gwrs mae gêm yn erbyn un o’r clybiau mawr yn siŵr o ddenu torf dda ond wrth gymharu gyda torfeydd y gemau yn erbyn Y Rhyl a Llanelli gwelwn fod torf ddydd Sul yn cymharu’n ffafriol iawn. Gyda’r Rhyl, sydd bob amser yn dod a chefnogaeth gref, yn chwarae ar nos Wener denwyd torf o 306 tra dim ond 204 daeth i weld Llanelli ar ddydd Sadwrn. Wrth edrych yn ôl ar ymweliadau blaenorol TNS gwelwn mae ond 192 daeth i’w gweld y llynedd ar nos Fawrth ond yn 2007 denwyd torf dda o 307 i’r Traeth i’w gweld ar ddydd Sadwrn. Tybed a ddylai’r bwrdd ymateb yn fuan i ystyried symud y gêm yn erbyn Caernarfon, sydd i fod i’w chwarae ar ddydd Sadwrn 21 Mawrth yr un diwrnod a gêm Cymru ac Iwerddon yn y Chwe Gwlad, i Sul 22 Mawrth? In his programme notes club secretary Gerallt Owen says (referring to the TNS game) that the club "…have been keen to see if a Sunday afternoon game would attract a larger than normal crowd and may organise further Sunday games if it proves successful." The gate of 317 would appear to suggest that the board can now give the matter further consideration as it was the second highest crowd of the season with only the derby against Bangor drawing a better gate when there 409 at the Traeth. A good gate would of course be expected against a top club like TNS but when we compare the gate with those attracted to the Rhyl and Llanelli games we see that Sunday’s gate compares very favourably. Rhyl always have a great travelling support and that game, played on Friday, attracted a gate of 306 while Llanelli, playing on a Saturday, drew only 204. Looking back to previous visits from TNS we see that last season the game was played on a Tuesday and drew a crowd of only 192 while in 2007, when the game was played on a Saturday, there was a good gate of 307. Perhaps the board should move quickly to look into the possibility of switching the Caernarfon game due to be played on the same day, March 21st , as the Wales v Ireland Six Nations clash 16/02/09 Lotri Wythnosol 13/02/09 / Weekly Draw 13/02/09 Enillydd yr wobr o £100 yn y Lotri Wythnosol a dynnwyd ar nos Wener 13 Chwefror oedd Phil Jones o Gricieth. Cofiwch ei bod yn bosibl i chi gymryd rhan drwy lawr-lwytho a llenwi’r ffurfleni isod. Ffurflen Gais / Application Form | Mandad Archeb Sefydlog / Standing Order Mandate The winner of the £100 prize in the Weekly Draw on Friday 13 February was Phil Jones of Criccieth. Remember that you can take part by downloading completing the above forms. 13/02/09 Rhagolwg: v TNS / Preview: v TNS Er gwaetha’r perfformiad da ar Ffordd Ffarar roedd y canlyniad, yng ngêm gyntaf Tomi Morgan fel rheolwr, yn llai na roedd Port yn haeddu. Ond yn anffodus dydy pethau ddim yn dod yn haws i Tomi wrth iddo edrych ymlaen at ymweliad TNS i’r Traeth pnawn Sul. Dywedodd y rheolwr newydd ei fod wedi’i blesio gyda’r perfformiad yn erbyn Bangor nos Fawrth gan ddweud wrth y Cambrian News, "Cefais fy mhlesio gydag ymdrechion y chwaraewyr, fe weithion nhw’n galed ac rwy’n sicr yn meddwl y medrwn fynd ymlaen i bethau gwell. Ni allwn fod wedi gofyn am fwy ac, yn fy marn i, ni gafodd y ddau gyfle gorau yn y gêm." Gyda Port ar rhediad o ddwy fuddugoliaeth mewn deg gêm mae sialens enfawr yn eu haros. Er hynny mae’n werth cofio fod 6 o’r 10 gêm ddiwethaf wedi bod yn erbyn gwrthwynebwyr sydd yn saith uchaf y tabl. Gorwedd gobeithion Port o achosi sioc ar eu gallu i ail adrodd y math o ymdrech a disgyblaeth a welwyd yn erbyn Bangor a hefyd ar y gwendid lleiaf sydd wedi ymddangos ym mherfformiadau y clwb proffesiynol yn ddiweddar. Mae record Y Seintiau y tymor hwn, er yn dangos ond dwy gêm wedi’u colli, hefyd yn dangos eu bod wedi gorfod bodloni ar rannu’r pwyntiau ar saith achlysur. Yn ogystal aethant allan o Gwpan Cymru ar ôl colli adref yn erbyn Caerfyrddin. I gael unrhyw obaith o gael rhywbeth o’r gêm bydd rhaid i Port, heb Steve Kehoe sydd wedi’i wahardd ac efallai Gareth Parry yn dal wedi’i anafu, fod ar eu gorau gan obeithio fydd Y Seintiau, gyda Steve Evans yn ôl yn eu rhengoedd, yn perfformio’n is na’u safon arbennig arferol. Ewch i i roi bet ar Porthmadog v TNS. Despite a good performance at Farrar Road the result, in manager Tomi Morgan’s first game in charge, was less than Port deserved. However things do not get any easier for Tomi as it is TNS who will provide Sunday’s opposition at the Traeth. The new manager has declared himself satisfied with the performance against Bangor on Tuesday and told the Cambrian News, "I was really pleased with the efforts of the players, they worked hard and I really think we can go on to better things. I could not have asked for more and I thought we had the two best chances of the game." Port on a run of two wins in 10 games face a huge challenge if they are to get anything from this game. However it is worth remembering that 6 of these 10 games were against top seven opposition. Port’s hopes of springing a surprise result rest on repeating the kind of effort and discipline shown against Bangor and on the small chink that has appeared in the armour of the once invincible professional club. Their record this season, though showing only two defeats, also shows that they have had to share the points on seven occasions. In addition to this they were put out of the Welsh Cup at Parkhall by Carmarthen Town. Port, still without suspended Steve Kehoe and also perhaps injured Gareth Parry, will need to be at their very best to gain anything and at the same time hope that the Saints, with Steve Evans back in their ranks, will perform at less than their outstanding best. Visit to place a bet on Porthmadog v TNS. 11/02/09 Lotri Wythnosol 06/02/09 / Weekly Draw 06/02/09 Enillydd yr wobr o £100 yn y Lotri Wythnosol a dynnwyd ar nos Wener 6 Chwefror oedd rhif 63, Tom Payne o Dremadog. Cofiwch ei bod yn bosibl i chi gymryd rhan drwy lawr-lwytho a llenwi’r ffurfleni isod. Ffurflen Gais / Application Form | Mandad Archeb Sefydlog / Standing Order Mandate The winner of the £100 prize in the Weekly Draw on Friday 6 February was number 63, Tom Payne of Tremadog. Remember that you can take part by downloading completing the above forms. 11/02/09 Tomi Morgan yn sgwrsio ar ‘Ar y Marc’ / Tomi Morgan talking on ‘Ar y Marc’ Radio Cymru. Bu Tomi Morgan yn dweud ei ddweud ar nifer o faterion ynglŷn â’r swydd newydd ar ‘Ar y Marc’ ddydd Sadwrn. Rwy’n falch i fod yn ôl ac yn edrych ymlaen at y sialens. Ces i alwad pnawn dydd Sul yn gofyn a fysa gen i ddiddordeb i gymryd drosodd. Ro’n ni ddigon balch i helpu Port allan. Heblaw am hwfro a glanhau’r tŷ dwi wedi bod yn edrych ar dipyn o bêl-droed hefyd (ers gadael Trallwng). Wrth edrych ar y garfan mae yna ddigon o rhai profiadol a rhai ifanc addawol hefyd. Mae yna ddigon yna i weithio arno am weddill y tymor ac rwy’n edrych ymlaen i wneud hynny. Pwy a ŵyr pwy fyddai wedi bod ar gael a dim ond wythnos efallai ar ôl o’r ffenest drosglwyddo. Mae ’da ni beiriant goliau yn y blaen, sef Lloyd Williams, ac os allwn ni ildio llai o goliau byddwn ni’n ennill mwy o gemau. Buon ni’n gweithio ar amddiffyn yn yr ymarfer nos Fawrth diwethaf ac mae’r bechgyn hefyd i fyny am y sialens. ’Di nhw chwaith ddim yn hoffi ildio goliau a chi’n dechrau amddiffyn o’r llinell flaen. Felly bydd rhaid i Jiws i weithio’n galetach o’r linell flaen! Hefyd canol y cae a’r amddiffyn. Siwrnai sydd ond tair milltir yn bellach na’r Trallwng! Os wnawn ni aros yn y gynghrair bydd cefnogwyr Port yn falch o hynny ac rwy’n siŵr y gallwn wneud hyn. Mae’r bechgyn yn hyderus a gallwn weithio dros y tair gêm ar ddeg sydd ar ôl. Ces i un neu ddau yn fy ngalw’n hwntw! (O’r canolbarth mae Tomi!) Sylw Glyn Griffiths, cyn reolwr Treffynnon a Bangor, am Tomi oedd, "Mae’r parch ganddo, mae’n hyfforddwr, ac mae dipyn o garisma ganddo. Ac mae’r neges yn ddigon clir bydd rhaid ichi weithio yn Port o hyn ymlaen. Tomi Morgan gave his views on topics related to his new job in Saturday’s ‘Ar y Marc’ programme on Radio Cymru. I’m glad to be back and I’m looking forward to the challenge. I received a call on Sunday afternoon asking if I would be interested in taking over. I was pleased to be able to help out Port. Apart from hoovering and cleaning I’ve been watching quite a lot of football too (since leaving Welshpool!) Looking at the squad there are plenty of experienced players there and some young promising players as well. Who knows who’d be available anyway in the last week of the transfer window. We have a goal machine called Lloyd Williams and if we can concede fewer goals we will win more games. We worked on our defence in training last Tuesday and the lads are up for the challenge. They do not want to concede goals either and defending begins at the front. So Jiws will have to work harder from the front! So will the midfield and the defenders as well. It’s a journey of three miles longer than the one to Welshpool! If we stay up then Port supporters will be pleased with that and I am sure that we can achieve this. The lads are confident and we can work hard over the 13 games left. One or two have called me a hwntw! (Tomi is from Mid-Wales!) Glyn Griffiths’, former Holywell and Bangor manager, commented, "He (Tomi) will have respect, he is a coach and has some charisma and the message is clear enough you will have to work hard in Port from now on! 08/02/09 Rhagolwg: v Bangor / Preview: v Bangor Mae Tomi Morgan yn dechrau wythnos anodd iawn yng ngofal y clwb gyda ymweliad i Ffordd Ffarar nos Fawrth yn cael ei ddilyn gyda TNS ar Y Traeth ddydd Sul. Nid hwn yw’r amser gorau i wynebu Bangor gan fod ‘Chwyldro Nev’ wedi bod ar gynnydd ers troad y flwyddyn gyda buddugoliaethau da oddi cartref dros Hwlffordd ac Aberystwyth a wedyn trechu Rhyl yn y gwpan. Yn ychwanegol at hyn sgoriwyd chwech i guro Cei Conna nos Wener gyda Chris Sharp y sgorio hat tric. Sharp hefyd oedd Chwaraewr y Mis ar ôl bod ar dân yn canfod y rhwyd yn ystod Ionawr. Yr unig gam gwag yn ddiweddar oedd colli adref yn erbyn Castell Nedd, y tîm sydd nesaf i’r gwaelod. Efallai fod rhyw lygedyn o obaith i Port yn y canlyniad hwn ond bydd rhaid iddynt fod ar eu gorau am 90 munud i gael unrhyw beth o’r gêm. Mae’r ddau glwb wedi cyfarfod dair gwaith eleni gyda Bangor yn ennill bob tro -6-0,3-0,3-2. Oes yna obaith yn y ffaith fod y gwahaniaeth goliau yn lleihau bob tro?! Mae cefnogwyr Port wedi bod yn boenus ymwybodol o’r diffygion wrth amddiffyn eleni ac mae’r rheolwr newydd yn gwybod am y broblem. Bu gweithio ar drefnu’r amddiffyn yn brif fater wrth ymarfer ac mae Tomi yn mynnu fod amddiffyn yn dechrau yn y blaen ac yn mynd drwy’r tîm. Mwy na dim, nos Fawrth, bydd cefnogwyr Port yn edrych am weld cychwyn y broses o wella wrth amddiffyn. Gêm ddarbi yw hon –amdani hogiau. Tomi Morgan begins a difficult week in charge with a visit to Farrar Road on Tuesday followed by TNS at the Traeth on Sunday. It is not the best time to face Bangor as the ‘Nevolution’ has been gathering pace since the turn of the year with big away victories at Haverfordwest and Aberystwyth and a massive cup win over Rhyl. Added to this is their bumper 6-0 victory over Connah’s Quay last Friday with Chris Sharp scoring a hat-trick Sharp has also won the Player of the Month award for his goal-scoring exploits in January. The only blip for Bangor was their surprise home defeat against next to bottom Neath Athletic. Port can maybe take some heart from this result but will know that they will have to be at their best for 90 minutes if they are to get anything from the game. The two clubs have played each other three times already with Bangor winning each time -6-0, 3-0,3-2. Is there some hope in the improving score line?! Port supporters have been painfully aware of the team’s inability to defend and the new manager is also well aware of it. Working on a defensive strategy was a key issue in training and Tomi has insisted that defending has to start at the front and is a matter for the whole team. More than anything else Port supporters will be looking for a start to improving this department on Tuesday. This is a local derby –go for it lads. 08/02/09 Ail Dîm yn Ionawr / Reserves January Round-up Yn dilyn y newidiadau tu ôl i’r llenni aeth John Williams ac Adrian Jones ati i godi’r Ail Dîm unwaith eto. Ar ôl nifer o ohiriadau, oherwydd fod y caeau wedi rhewi, Caergybi oedd gwrthwynebwyr cyntaf y tîm reoli newydd. Dangoswyd gwelliant pendant yn y gêm hon gyda Steven Jones y sgorio ar ôl dim ond 11eg munud a Cai Jones yn setlo’r gêm gyda gôl pum munud o’r diwedd i roi buddugoliaeth o 2-0 i Port. Colli ffordd fu’r hanes ar ôl hyn wrth ymweld ac Ynys Môn, gyda’r Gaerwen yn curo o 4-0. Setlwyd y gêm yn yr hanner awr cyntaf wrth i Gaerwen fynd ar y blaen o 3-0 yn y cyfnod hwn. Gêm ola’r mis oedd honno yn erbyn Llangefni. Aeth Llangefni ar y blaen gyda dwy gôl gynnar iawn cyn i Iestyn Woolway dynnu un yn ôl ar ôl deg munud. Daeth trydydd gôl Llangefni ar ôl 55 munud i roi buddugoliaeth gyfforddus iddynt o 3-1. Following the behind the scenes changes John Williams and Adrian Jones set about reviving the fortunes of the reserve team. After suffering postponements as a result of frozen pitches at the beginning of the month they faced Holyhead in the first game under the changed leadership. They showed much improved form to win by 2-0 with Steven Jones opening the scoring after 11 minutes and a goal from Cai Jones five minutes from time settled the game. Unfortunately they lost their way again at Gaerwen going down by four clear goals. The game was decided in the first half-hour with the Anglesey club by that time 3 goals up. The last game of the month was against Llangefni and an early flurry of goals saw Port 2 goals down by the time Iestyn Woolway pulled one back after ten minutes. Llangefni’s third after 55 minutes gave them a comfortable 3-1 victory 07/02/09 Lotri Wythnosol 30/1/09 / Weekly Draw 30/1/09 Enillydd yr wobr o £100 yn y Lotri Wythnosol a dynnwyd ar nos Wener 30 Ionawr oedd rhif 76, Margaret Williams of Gricieth. Cofiwch ei bod yn bosibl i chi gymryd rhan drwy lawr-lwytho a llenwi’r ffurfleni isod. Tynnwyd y rhifau o'r het ar gyfer y Tote Misol hefyd ar Ddydd Gwener 30ain Ionawr. Y rhifau a buddugol oedd 16 a 29. Mae un enillydd, Ken Wyn Jones o Borthmadog sy'n ennill £369. Bydd y rhifau nesaf yn cael eu tynnu o'r het at Ddydd Gwener 27ain Chwefror 2009. Ffurflen Gais / Application Form | Mandad Archeb Sefydlog / Standing Order Mandate The winner of the £100 prize in the Weekly Draw on Friday 30 January was number 76, Margaret Williams of Criccieth. Remember that you can take part by downloading completing the above forms. The January Monthly Tote was also drawn at Y Ganolfan on Friday 30th January. The winning numbers are 16 & 29. There is one winner, Ken Wyn Jones of Porthmadog who wins £369. The next draw will take place on Friday 27th February 2009. 06/02/09 Gêm Trallwng i ffwrdd / Welshpool match off Bu’n rhaid gohirio’r gêm a oedd i’w chwarae heno (06/02/09) oherwydd eira. Hyn yn dilyn arolwg o’r cae am 9.00 y bore yma. Bydd rhaid i Tomi aros ychydig eto cyn dychwelyd i’w gyn clwb yn Y Trallwng. Gem gyntaf Tomi yng ngofal Port felly fydd ar Ffordd Ffarar nos Fawrth nesaf (10/02/09) yn erbyn Bangor. Y gic gyntaf am 7.30 pm. The match scheduled for this evening (6/02/09) has been postponed after an inspection at 9.00 am declared the pitch unplayable because of snow. Tomi will therefore have to wait a little longer for his return visit to former club Welshpool Town. Tomi’s first game in charge will therefore be at Farrar Road next Tuesday (10/02/09) against Bangor. Kick off at 7.30 pm. 04/02/09 Rhagolwg: Y Trallwng v Port / Preview Welshpool Town v Port Os bydd y tywydd yn caniatáu bydd Tomi Morgan yn arwain ei glwb newydd yn ôl i Maesydre nos Wener ac i’r llethr anodd hwnnw a fu mor gyfarwydd iddo am dair blynedd. Mae llawer wedi newid ers i Port ymweld â’r cae yn ôl ym Medi 2007. Mae dau reolwr wedi dod ac wedi mynd o’r Traeth ers hynny ac mae Tomi Morgan yn dychwelyd i’r clwb y gwnaeth cymaint i’w adfer a rwan mae ganddo yr un gorchwyl yn Porthmadog. Y gêm ym mis Medi 2007 oedd y perfformiad gorau o gyfnod byr Clayton Blackmore fel rheolwr ac eironi arall –Paul Roberts, bellach gyda’r Trallwng, sgoriodd ddwywaith i Port mewn buddugoliaeth dda o 3-0. Yn y gêm ar Y Traeth, Medi 2008, enillodd Port o 2-1 mewn gêm agos lle bu rhaid iddynt ddod drwy cyfnod o bwyso trwm yn yr ail hanner cyn sicrhau’r triphwynt. Steve Kehoe a John Rowley oedd y sgorwyr ar y dydd. Mae Huw Griffiths, y dyn newydd yn Maesydre, wedi dod a Gareth Wilson i fewn ar fenthyg o’r Rhyl yn ddiweddar a Martin McGubbin, chwaraewr arall ar fenthyg, o Blackburn Rovers. Sgoriodd McGubbin ddwywaith mewn buddugoliaeth o 5-2 dros Y Bala mewn gêm gyfeillgar nos Wener ddiwethaf. Mae hon yn gêm bwysig iawn i’r ddau glwb ac, er ei fod wedi cael ychydig iawn o amser i baratoi, bydd presenoldeb Tomi yn ychwanegu ychydig o fwy o fin i’r gêm –os wnaiff y tywydd wella. Weather permitting Tomi Morgan will lead his new club back to the familiar surroundings of Maesydre with its notorious slope on Friday evening. Much has changed since Port last visited the ground in September 2007. Two managers have come and gone at the Traeth and Tomi Morgan returns to the club he contributed so much towards reviving their fortunes. Now has the task of doing a similar reconstruction job with Porthmadog. Last September’s game between the two clubs was the best Port performance of Clayton Blackmore’s short reign and another irony Paul Roberts now with Welshpool, scored twice for Port in an excellent 3-0 win. The previous fixture at the Traeth was a tight affair with Port edging a 2-1 victory after having to withstand a great deal of second half pressure to earn the three points. Steve Kehoe and John Rowley were the scorers on that day. Huw Griffiths, the new man at Maesydre, has recently brought in Gareth Wilson, on loan from Rhyl, and Martin McGubbin, another loan player, from Blackburn Rovers who scored twice for the ’Pool in a 5-2 friendly win over Bala last Friday. This is a vital fixture for both clubs and, though he has had little time to prepare for it, the arrival of Tomi at the Traeth has added a little extra edge to the fixture –should the weather relent. 04/02/09 Cyfweliad Tomi Morgan / Tomi interviewed Mewn cyfweliad gyda Thomas White ar wefan welshpremier.thefootballnetwork.co.uk dywedodd Tomi Morgan, "Mae pêl-droed yn fy ngwaed ac rwy’n mwynhau sialens" "Mae’n eironig fod fy ngêm gyntaf yn ôl yn Y Trallwng lle mae gen i hen ffrindiau a bydd yn dda eu gweld eto." Eglurodd Tomi y bydd gyda Port tan ddiwedd y tymor a bydd y staff cefnogol yn aros gyda’r clwb." Mae’r targed yn syml "Aros yn Uwch Gynghrair Cymru!" "Bydd unrhyw dîm sy’n cynnwys Marc Lloyd Williams yn siwr o sgorio goliau ond da ni wedi bod yn gweithio ar ein amddiffyn." (Mae’r amddiffyn wedi cael eu feirniadu ar fforwm y clwb am y nifer o goliau a sgoriwyd yn eu herbyn). Gan fod y ffenest drosglwyddo wedi cau, ni arwyddwyd chwaraewyr newydd ond dywedodd Tomi fod y sesiwn ymarfer wedi mynd yn dda a fod yna grwp da iawn o hogiau yn y clwb yn barod. Mewn neges i’r cefnogwyr dywedodd, "Rwyf wedi cael perthynas dda a chroeso gan y cefnogwyr pan wnes ymweld â’r clwb yn y gorffennol ac rwy’n edrych ymlaen i gael peint gyda nhw yn y clwb ar ôl y gemau." In an interview with Thomas White of the welshpremier.thefootballnetwork.co.uk website Tomi Morgan said, "I've got football running in my blood and enjoy the challenge". "It is ironic that my first game is back at Welshpool (this Friday 7.30) but I’m looking forward to going back to Maesdyre as I have old friends there who would be good to catch up with". Tomi also explained that he will be at Porthmadog until the end of the season and the existing backroom staff will remain." The aim is simple really - Survive in the Welsh Premier League!". "Any team that has Marc Lloyd Williams will get goals but we've been working on our defending" (Port's defence has been under some criticism on their forum this season for the amount of goals shipped). Due to the transfer window closing, no new players were signed but Tomi did say that his first training session went well and there’s a good group of lads already at the club.
