03/07/09 Y Cadeirydd yn egluro am Mike / Mike -the Chairman Explains I osgoi unrhyw ddyfalu pellach mae’r cadeirydd, Phil Jones, wedi penderfynu dweud sut y bu i Mike Foster adael y clwb. Dyma ei ddatganiad: ‘Gyda siom derbyniais ymddiswyddiad Mike Foster a carwn gymryd y cyfle hwn i ddiolch iddo am ei wasanaeth amhrisiadwy i’r clwb dros y blynyddoedd. Fel y gwyddom, Port ydy Mike o’i goryn i’w sawdl ac mae wedi bod yn was da i’r clwb ond rwy’n siwr y byddai’n cytuno hefyd fod y clwb wedi bod yn dda iddo fo. Yn wahanol i’r hyn mae rhai cefnogwyr yn meddwl dydy o ddim wedi bod o dan unrhyw bwysau, gan y bwrdd nac yn bwysicach gan Tomi Morgan, i adael y clwb. O ystyried oed ac anafiadau Mike byddai Tomi wedi bod yn anghyfrifol i beidio dod o hyd i gefnwr chwith arall i’r clwb. Dydy hyn ddim yn golygu y byddai Mike yn colli ei le –roedd y lle yna iddo ymladd amdano. RHAID cael cystadleuaeth am safleoedd yn y tîm. Cafodd Mike dymor arbennig llynedd a chredaf ei fod wedi synnu’i hun gyda’r nifer o gemau a chwaraeodd! Bydd yn anodd iawn i unrhyw un lanw ei sgidiau a bydd gennyf atgofion hapus o’i yrfa gyda Porthmadog, heb ddweud dim am ei gampau yfed ar y bws adref! Rym i gyd yn dymuno’r gorau iddo at y dyfodol –bydd yn gaffaeliad mawr i unrhyw glwb y bydd yn chwarae iddo. Fel y dywedodd yn ei neges destun ataf “mae’n amser am newid” a symud ymlaen fydd yn rhaid inni gyd wneud –Pob lwc Mike!’ In order to avoid further speculation the chairman, Phil Jones, has decided to explain how Mike Foster came to leave the club. This is his statement: ‘It was with regret that I accepted Mike Foster's resignation and I would like to take this opportunity to thank him for his invaluable service to the club over the years. As we all know, Mike is Port through and through and has been an excellent servant of the club but I hope Mike will be the first to agree that the club has also been good to him. Contrary to what some supporters might think, he has been under no pressure to leave the club, either by the board or more importantly by Tomi Morgan. Bearing in mind Mike's age and injuries it would have been irresponsible of Tomi not to have found another left back for the club. That is not to say that Mike would have lost his place - it was there for him to fight for. You must have competition for places in your team. Mike had an outstanding season last year and I think even surprised himself with the amount of games he played! It will be difficult for anyone to fill his shoes and I will always have happy memories of his career at Porthmadog, not to mention his drinking exploits on the bus home! We all wish him the very best for the future - he will be a great asset for whom ever he plays for. As he said in his text to me “it's time for a change" and moving on is something we all must do - Pob Lwc Mike!’ 29/06/09 Naw i rhedeg dros Cefnogaeth Cancr Macmillan / Nine to run for Macmillan Cancer Support Bydd naw o hogiau lleol sydd a chysylltiad â chlwb Port yn rhedeg Marathon Efrog Newydd ar 1 Tachwedd. Mae ganddynt darged i godi £20,700 at elusen nyrsys cefnogol Cancr Macmillan. Er mwyn cyrraedd y nod byddant yn cynnal nifer fawr o ddigwyddiadau gan gynnwys Cystadleuaeth Bêl-droed 7-bob ochr. Dywedodd Gareth Piercy un o’r trefnwyr, “Byddwn yn trefnu cystadleuaeth Golff a nifer o ddigwyddiadau cymdeithasol i geisio cyrraedd y nod a bydd yn bosibl i bobl gynorthwyo drwy chwarae neu gyfrannu at y raffl. Hefyd bydd modd i gwmnïau brynu hysbysebion i’w gosod ar y tyllau.” Gareth Lewis Piercy, Stephen Paul Williams, Stephen Colin Smith, Andrew William Jones, Richard Owain Davies, Mathew John Hughes, Stephen Wyn Harris, Cemlyn Jeffries a Iwan Wyn Williams ydy’r naw. Os ydych yn dymuno cyfrannu yn ariannol at yr ymdrech ewch i’w gwefan arbennig: www.justgiving.com/portladsrunnewyork Nine local lads who have a close association with the Porthmadog FC will run the New York Marathon on 1 November. Gareth Piercy, one of the organisers, said “We are organising a Golf competition and several social events to help us reach the target and we invite people to contribute by taking part or by giving raffle prizes. Bydd hyn yn dilyn llwyddiant mawr y tymor diwethaf pan enillodd y garfan Dan-11 Darian Tom Yeoman, o dan hyfforddiant arbenigol Evan Evans, mewn cystadleuaeth Cymru gyfan. Mae ysgolion wedi derbyn gwahoddiadau a disgwylir nifer dda i fod yn bresennol. “Os ydych am weld sut mae’r broses o ddewis yn gweithio a gweld hefyd brwdfrydedd a mwynhad yr hogiau ifanc dewch i fwynhau gyda ni nos Wener. Academy Director Mel Jones commented, “If you want to see the selection process at work and enjoy the enthusiasm and exuberance of these youngsters then come along and join us on Friday. You won't be disappointed!" 29/06/09 Dyddiad aduniad cyn-chwaraewyr i newid / Re-union date of former players to be changed Penderfynwyd ohirio’r aduniad o gyn chwaraewyr a oedd i'w gynnal ar y 11 Gorffennaf. Yn ôl y trefnydd, Dafydd Wyn Jones, y gobaith oedd cynnal yr achlysur ac ar yr un pryd trefnu gem gyfeillgar o bwys ar y Traeth. Nid oedd hyn yn bosibl ac felly y bwriad yn awr yw trefnu'r digwyddiad cyn un o'r gemau cynghrair ar ddechrau'r tymor. "Bydd yn fwy o achlysur a chyfle i gyn chwaraewyr gael gwylio gem go iawn!" medd y trefnydd. Gobeithir cyhoeddi'r trefniadau newydd yn weddol fuan, o bosibl o fewn y 7 i 10 diwrnod nesaf. Mae'r clwb yn ymddiheuro i'r rhai hynny oedd wedi gwneud trefniadau ar gyfer yr 11fed. The reunion of former players, which was to have been held on Saturday 11 July, has been postponed and will now be held before one of the early season WPL games. According to organiser Dafydd Wyn Jones it was hoped that this could have been held before a prestige friendly match on the 11th. but this will not now be possible. . "Holding the event before a red blooded WPL match will make it more of an occasion and something for former players to savour" said Dafydd. The club apologises to those who might have made arrangements for the 11th.and will announce the new date as soon as possible, hopefully within the next 7 to 10 days. 29/06/09 Newyddion Codi Arian / Fund Raising News Tynnwyd y Tote Misol ar gyfer mis Mehefin yn Y Ganolfan ddydd Gwener 26 Mehefin. Bydd Gap Cei Conna hefyd yn y grwp o dri. Bydd y tri chlwb yn teimlo fod ganddynt siawns dda i gyrraedd rownd yr wyth olaf. Yn rownd yr wyth olaf bydd enillydd y chwe grwp a’r ddau ail orau. Wrth dynnu’r enwau o’r het gwelwn fod un grwp yn cynnwys y deiliaid TNS, Bangor -a gyrhaeddodd y ffeinal llynedd- a’r Drenewydd ac un arall anodd gyda Aberystwyth, Hwlffordd a Llanelli yn wynebu ei gilydd. Bydd rhestr y gemau ar gyfer pob grwp yn cael eu cyhoeddi ddydd Mawrth nesaf. In a repeat of last season Port will meet Caersws in the 2009/10 League Cup with Gap Connah’s Quay also in the group of three. All three clubs will probably fancy their chances of reaching a last eight which will comprise of the six group winners and the two best runners-up. The draw has thrown up a group consisting of the holders TNS, runners-up Bangor and Newtown and another difficult one involving Aberystwyth, Haverfordwest and Llanelli. The fixtures for this year’s competition are to be released next Tuesday. 26/06/09 Tocynnau Tymor ar werth rwan / Season Tickets on sale now Mae CPD Porthmadog wedi cyhoeddi fod tocynnau tymor 2009-10 ar werth rwan. Ar ôl sawl tymor o orfod chwarae gwrthwynebwyr gryn bellter i ffwrdd yn y gemau “darbi” dros y Nadolig, bydd y cefnogwyr yn falch i glywed mai Bangor fydd y gwrthwynebwyr eleni. Er hynny, bydd yn ychydig o siom mai ar Ffordd Ffarrar fydd y gêm ar wyl San Steffan. Bydd dim rhaid i gefnogwyr Port aros yn hir am y cyfle i ymweld â Maes Tegid, cartref y newydd ddyfodiaid, y Bala ar 28 Awst gyda’r tîm o Feirionnydd yn dod i’r Traeth am y tro cyntaf ar 15 Ionawr. Bydd Marc Lloyd Williams, Rhys Roberts a Carl Owen yn dychwelyd i'r Traeth gyda'u clwb newydd, Airbus Brychdyn, ar 3 Ebrill. Un o uchafbwyntiau eraill y tymor yw ymweliad y Rhyl, a fydd yn digwydd ar 20 Chwefror, yng nghanol cyfnod anodd lle bydd Port yn wynebu tri clwb uchaf y llynedd mewn cyfnod o 3 wythnos. I weld rhestr llawn ewch i'r dudalen Gemau. The fixture list for the new season has just been announced, and Newtown will be the first visitors to the Traeth on the opening Saturday (15/8/09). After having to play teams from further afield in the Christmas period “derbies” for a number of seasons, supporters will be glad to hear that Bangor will be this season’s opponents. However, it will be a slight disappointment that the Boxing Day clash will be taking place at Farrar Road. Port supporters won’t have long to wait for the opportunity to visit Maes Tegid, the home of newcomers, Bala on 28 August with the Meirionnydd team visiting the Traeth for the first time on 15 January. Marc Lloyd Williams, Rhys Roberts and Carl Owen will return to the Traeth with their new club, Airbus Broughton, on 3 April. One of the saeson's other highlights, the visit of Rhyl, takes place on 20 February, during a difficult spell when Port face last season’s top three clubs in the space of 3 weeks. To see the full fixture list visit Fixtures. 24/06/09 Tomi'n cyhoeddi chwaraewyr newydd / Tomi announces the first new signings Cyhoeddodd Tomi Morgan enwau 5 o chwaraewyr newydd sydd wedi eu arwyddo ar gyfer tymor 2009/10. Paul Dowridge a John Keegan, sydd ill dau wedi treulio cyfnodau blaenorol gyda Tomi yn y Trallwng, fydd yn cael y gwaith caled o geisio cryfhau'r amddiffyn. Gyda'r ymarfer yn dechrau dydd Llun nesaf, Mehefin 29ain, gallai fod hyd at 6 enw arall yn ymuno â'r clwb. Bydd y newyddion diweddaraf yn ymddangos yma. Yr enwau newydd yn llawn: / The new signings in full:

Paul Dowridge and John Keegan, both of whom spent time with Tomi at Welshpool, will have the tough job of bolstering the defence. With training starting next Monday, June 29th, a further 6 signings could be in the pipeline. The latest news will appear here. 23/06/09 Lotri Wythosol / Weekly Draw. Mae’r clwb wedi cyhoeddi'r rhestr canlynol o 6 gêm gyfeillgar i baratoi am y tymor newydd, gan ddechrau ar 16 Gorffennaf gyda thaith i Gorwen o Gynghrair Ardal Wrecsam. Mae Tomi’n gobeithio trefnu mwy o gemau, a byddwn yn rhoi unrhyw fanylion yma. Tomi is hoping to arrange further fixtures, and we'll bring you the details when we have them. 18/06/09 Newyddion da i ddod? / Good news on its way? Yn ôl adroddiadau yn yr Herald heddiw, bydd dim rhaid i gefnogwyr Port aros yn llawer hirach i gael newyddion am chwaraewyr fydd yn ymuno â’r clwb at y tymor i ddod. Mae Tomi’n dweud wrth y papur y bydd yn medru cyhoeddi dros yr wythnos nesaf bod chwaraewyr o bwys ar eu ffordd i’r Traeth. Er hynny mae’n cyfaddef fod Port yn wynebu tymor caled iawn: "Bydd pethau’n dynn a chystadleuol iawn y tymor nesaf; mae rhai clybiau’n gwario arian mawr ac yn anffodus dydyn ni ddim mewn sefyllfa i wneud hynny, ond pwy a wyr beth fydd yn digwydd." According to reports in the Herald today, Port supporters will not have to wait much longer for news on new personnel joining the club for the forthcoming season. Tomi tells the paper that he’ll be in a position to announce over the coming week that some significant new signings are on their way to the Traeth. However, he does concede that Port face a very tough campaign: "It’s going to be very tight and competitive next season; some clubs are spending big and sadly we’re not in a position to do that, but who knows what will happen." 13/06/09 Cynghrair 12 clwb / A 12 club league Cafwyd cyfaddawd munud olaf yn y cyfarfod blynyddol yn Llandrindod a bydd yna gynghrair o 12 clwb yn nhymor 2010/2011. Mae gwefan y welsh-premier yn dweud fod y newid gwreiddiol i’r rheolau wedi’i dynnu yn ôl wedi i’r FAW, Bwrdd y Gynghrair a’r 18 clwb ddod i gytundeb a pleidleisio yn unfrydol dros gynnig arbennig i dderbyn y strwythur newydd. Roedd yna ofnau y byddai’r cynnig am y ‘Deg Disglair’ yn methu denu digon o bleidleisiau gan adael i’r FAW wthio’r opsiwn 10 clwb ar y gynghrair ac o bosib peidio ariannu’r gynghrair. Bydd y clybiau yn chwarae 44 o gemau yn nhymor 2010/11 gyda Cwpan y Gynghrair yn newid i drefn ‘knock-out’ Felly 8 o glybiau ar y mwyaf fydd + yn mynd i lawr i’r cynghreiriau is ar ddiwedd y tymor nesaf. Bwriad y bwrdd ydy gostwng nifer y clybiau i 11 yn 2011/12 ac i 10 y tymor canlynol. A last minute compromise was reached in the league AGM at Llandrindod today whereby season 2010/2011 will see a 12 club WPL. The welsh-premier website reports that the original rule change was withdrawn after a deal was brokered between the FAW, the Welsh Premier board and the 18 member clubs, who voted unanimously on a special resolution to accept the new structure. It was feared that the 'Super 10' proposal would fail to gain sufficient votes, leaving the governing body to impose its preferred option on the league and possibly withdraw its financial support. Clubs will play 44 league games in season 2010/11, with the League Cup reduced to a straight knockout format. A maximum of eight clubs will now be relegated into the feeder leagues at the end of the next season. The Welsh Premier Board proposes to reduce the number of clubs to 11 in 2011 and 10 the following year to achieve the FAW's preferred league size. 10/06/09 Unwaith eto i’r Rec! / Once more to the Rec! Mae ymweld â’r Rec, Caersws, yn ôl ar yr agenda i gefnogwyr Port unwaith eto yn y tymor sydd i ddod. Am yr ail dymor yn olynol mae’r clwb o’r canolbarth wedi cael dihangfa wrth i apêl ENTO Aberaman fethu yn y gwrandawiad a gynhaliwyd heddiw. Am yr ail dymor gorffen yn 17eg gwnaeth Caersws un safle yn is na Port. Mae sibrydion fod rheolwr Aberaman, Dai Morgan –sydd hefyd yn gyfarwyddwr marchnata gyda noddwyr y clwb- yn bwriadu tynnu allan os oedd yr apêl yn aflwyddiannus. Mae nifer o chwaraewyr, hefyd, wedi gadael oherwydd yr ansicrwydd ynglyn a dyfodol y clwb. Mae Caersws hefyd wedi colli un o’u chwaraewyr mwyaf talentog wrth i Aeron Edwards ymuno gyda TNS. A visit to the Recreation Ground, Caersws is back on the agenda for Port supporters again this season. For the second successive season the mid-Wales club have gained a reprieve as the Ento Aberaman appeal, in Cardiff today, ended in failure. For the past two seasons Caersws have been in 17th spot one place below Port. Rumours have circulated that Aberaman manager Dai Morgan, also sales and marketing director of club sponsors ENTO, might walk away if today's appeal was unsuccessful. Several players have already signed for other clubs because of the uncertainty surrounding ENTO’s future. Caersws have also lost one of their most talented players with Aeron Edwards signing for TNS. 08/06/09 Rhestr Anrhydeddau’r Academi 2008/09 / Academy Honours List 2008/09 Mewn tymor lle mae’r tîm cyntaf wedi gorffen yn 16eg am yr ail dymor yn olynol a’r ail dîm yng nghanol eu tabl yn 9fed mae llwyddiannau disglair yr Academi yn sefyll allan. Cofnodwyd y llwyddiannau yma mewn adroddiadau newyddion amrywiol, ac ar dudalen yr Academi, ond isod casglwyd hwy at ei gilydd. Cafwyd buddugoliaethau, gan dimau Dan-11 a Dan-16, mewn cystadlaethau cenedlaethol a llwyddiant hefyd i’r ddau grwp oed arall. Medrwn eu darllen gyda balchder. Mewn neges at ysgrifennydd y clwb, Gerallt Owen, dywedodd, “Carwn gymryd y cyfle hwn i ddiolch i’r cadeirydd, y cyfarwyddwyr a chefnogwyr ffyddlon CPD Porthmadog am eu hanogaeth a’u cefnogaeth yn ystod y pedwar tymor diwethaf. Rwyf wedi cael profiad gwerthfawr ac wedi gweld dros fy hun y gwaith caled, ac hefyd yr ymroddiad, gan y pwyllgor, sydd angen i rhedeg y clwb. Cefais amser hapus gyda’r clwb gan wneud llawer o ffrindiau ar hyd y ffordd, ond teimlaf mae rwan ydy’r amser iawn i symud ymlaen. Dymunaf pob llwyddiant i’r clwb i’r dyfodol.” Rhys Roberts, Porthmadog defender for the past four seasons and now on his way to Airbus UK, has expressed his thanks to the club officials and supporters. In a message to club secretary, Gerallt Owen he says, “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Chairman, directors and faithful supporters of Porthmadog Football Club for their encouragement and support over the past four seasons. I have gained valuable experience and have seen at first hand the hard work and dedication of the Committee that goes into running the club." I have been very happy at the club, making lots of friends along the way, but I feel it is the right time to move on. I wish the club a very successful future.” 04/06/09 Amynedd piau hi / Patience is a virtue Mae rheolwr Port, Tomi Morgan yn hyderus y bydd yn llwyddo i lenwi’r bylchau sydd wedi eu creu yn dilyn penderfyniadau Marc Lloyd Williams a Rhys Roberts i adael, ond mae’n rhybuddio’r cefnogwyr y dylent fod yn amyneddgar. Mewn cyfweliad gyda’r Caernarfon and Denbigh Herald heddiw, dywedodd: "Mae’n dipyn o her i mi ond mae gen i ddigon o gysylltiadau yn y gêm ac mae gen i haearn neu ddau yn y tân ar hyn o bryd." Aeth ymlaen i ddweud "Rwy’n eithaf hyderus y byddaf yn gallu cryfhau’r garfan a byddaf yn cyfarfod pedwar chwaraewr yr wythnos hon. Ond efallai na fydd yr holl fanylion wedi eu cadarnhau am rai wythnosau." Porthmadog manager, Tomi Morgan is confident that he’ll be able to fill the gaps in the squad created by the departures of Marc Lloyd Williams and Rhys Roberts, but he warns the supporters that they need to be patient. In an Interview with the Caernarfon and Denbigh Herald today, he said: "It’s a challenge for me but I have plenty of contacts in the game and I have quite a few irons in the fire at the present time." He went on to say: "I’m reasonably confident I will be able to strengthen the squad and I’m meeting four players this week. But it might be a few weeks before all the details are worked out." 03/06/09 Diddordeb Harrison yn Port yn parhau / Harrison’s interest in Port continues Ar ôl cael eu cysylltu gyda Jiws, ac yna arwyddo Rhys Roberts heddiw, mae gwefan Airbus UK wedi cyhoeddi y bydd Jiws yn arwyddo iddynt ddydd Gwener a chyn-ymosodwr Porthmadog, Carl Owen yn ei ddilyn yr wythnos nesaf. Sgoriodd Owen 47 o goliau yn Uwch Gynghrair Cymru yn ystod ei gyfnod ar y Traeth cyn symud i’r Rhyl yr haf diwethaf, lle dechreuodd 4 gêm ac ymddangos 10 gwaith fel eilydd. Er gwaethaf dau dymor hynod siomedig, mae’n amlwg fod chwaraewyr Porthmadog wedi creu argraff fawr ar reolwr Aribus, Craig Harrison. Mae hefyd yn amlwg fod y clwb o Sir y Fflint yn benderfynol o wario eu ffordd i’r 10 Disglair. After being connected the Jiws, and having signed Rhys Roberts today, Airbus UK's website has just announced that they will sign Jiws on Friday followed by the signature of ex-Port striker, Carl Owen next week. Owen scored 47 Welsh Premier League goals during his time on the Traeth, before moving to Rhyl last summer, where he made 4 starts and appeared 10 times as substitute. Despite having two highly disappointing seasons, it’s clear that Port’s players have made quite an impression on Airbus manager, Craig Harrison. It’s also clear that the Flintshire club is determined to spend its way into the Super 10 this coming season. 03/06/09 Chwaraewr arall yn gadael / Another departure Yn dilyn y newyddion ddoe fod Marc Lloyd Williams yn gadael y clwb mae’n debyg fod un arall o ffefrynnau’r Traeth yn mynd. Cadarnhaodd Rhys Roberts heddiw ei fod yn ymuno gyda Airbus. Deallwn fod Rhys wedi cychwyn swydd newydd yng Nghaer a byddai ymuno gyda Airbus yn gwneud y teithio yn haws. Ymunodd gyda Porthmadog yn 2005/06 a bu yn aelod rheolaidd o’r tîm cyntaf gan chwarae 123(+1)o gemau UGC gan sgorio 10 gôl. Deallwn fod Airbus wedi derbyn pres ychwanegol sydd yn eu galluogi i ddilyn polisi brwd o recriwtio chwaraewyr mewn ymgais i gyrraedd y 10 uchaf. Dywedodd Gerallt Owen, ysgrifennydd Port, ar ôl derbyn y newyddion, “Mae’n ergyd arall i’r clwb. Cafwyd perfformiadau cadarn a brwdfrydig ganddo yn y cefn ac yng nghanol y cae, ac fel Jiws bydd yna fwlch ar ei ôl. Ond rwy’n hyderus y bydd Tomi Morgan yn dod a chwaraewyr o safon i gymryd eu lle.” Deallwn fod Tomi eisoes yn siarad gyda 2 neu 3 o chwaraewyr profiadol o UGC ac efallai fydd yna newyddion da yn y dyddiau nesaf. Following news yesterday that Marc Lloyd Williams has left the club it appears that another of the Traeth favourites is on his way. Rhys Roberts has confirmed that he is joining Airbus UK. Rhys has apparently got a new job in Chester and playing for Airbus would make things a lot easier for him as far as travelling is concerned. He first joined Porthmadog in 2005/06 and has been a first team regular making 123(+ 1) WPL appearances mainly as a centre back scoring 10 goals. It is believed that Airbus are aggressively recruiting players in an attempt to reach the top ten and that an influx of money has assisted their plans. Club Secretary Gerallt Owen commenting on the news said, “It is another blow for the club. He put in storming performances in both midfield and defence, he will just like Jiws be sorely missed by us, but I feel confident that manager Tomi Morgan will bring in quality replacements in the weeks ahead.” It is understood that Tomi is currently in contact with 2 or 3 experienced WPL players and so there could well be some good news in the coming days. 02/06/09 Jiws yn esbonio’r penderfyniad anodd / Jiws explains his difficult decision Yn dilyn y datganiad ddoe yn cyhoeddi fod Marc Lloyd Williams wedi penderfynu gadael y clwb, mae Marc yn awyddus i gywiro unrhyw gamddealltwriaeth ynglyn a phenderfyniad “.. nad oedd yn un hawdd.” “Carwn gymryd y cyfle hwn i ddiolch i’r chwaraewyr, y tîm rheoli, y cefnogwyr, y cyfarwyddwyr a phawb sy’n gweithio mor galed tu ôl i’r llenni am wneud fy nghyfnod yn ôl yn y clwb yn brofiad pleserus ac am iddynt wneud fy nheulu deimlo’n gartrefol o wythnos i wythnos. "Ni oedd yn benderfyniad hawdd, o bell ffordd, i adael y clwb y tro hwn ac yn wahanol iawn i rhai adroddiadau a welwyd ar y fforwm drafod. Y rhesymau tu ôl i’r penderfyniad oedd yr anawsterau teithio am 6 awr yn ôl ac ymlaen i gemau o’m cartref a’r ffaith na fyddwn yn medru mynd i’r sesiynau ymarfer yn rheolaidd, ddwy waith yr wythnos, ym Mhorthmadog. Teimlaf ei bod yn angenrheidiol i’r chwaraewyr ymarfer a chwarae efo’u gilydd yn rheolaidd os ydy’r clwb i ddatblygu. Carwn ddymuno’n dda i’r clwb yn y dyfodol." Bydd pob gwir gefnogwr Porthmadog hefyd yn dymuno’n dda i Jiws yn y dyfodol ac yn diolch iddo am ei gyfraniad ffantastig mewn tymor anodd iawn. Following the statement released yesterday announcing Marc Lloyd Williams’ decision to leave the club, Marc wishes to set the record straight concerning what he describes as “… not an easy decision.” “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the players, management team, supporters, directors and all the people who work hard behind the scenes for making my time back at Porthmadog last season a very enjoyable experience and who I'm very grateful to for making my family feel welcome week in week out. "It has not been an easy decision to leave the club this time around, far from it, contrary to, some, reports on the discussion forum. The reasons behind my decision not to re-sign for the club next season was the difficulty of a travelling time of a 6hr round trip from my home to matches and the fact that I wouldn't be able to attend regular training sessions at Porthmadog twice a week. I feel it’s essential if the club is to progress and achieve something that they need all players to be training and playing together on a regular basis. I would like to wish the club the best of luck for the future." All true supporters of Porthmadog will also wish Marc well for the future and thank him for his fantastic contribution in a very difficult season. 02/06/09 Jiws yn gadael Porthmadog / Jiws leaves Porthmadog Daeth y newyddion roedd llawer o'r cefnogwyr wedi'i ofni heddiw gyda meistr y goliau, Marc Lloyd Williams, yn gadael Port wythnosau yn unig ar ôl gorffen y tymor yn brif sgoriwr i’r clwb ac wedi cyrraedd y targed anhygoel o 300 o goliau yn ei yrfa yn UGC. Cadarnhaodd y clwb mai'r rheswm dros benderfyniad yr ymosodwr 36 oed i adael y Traeth, lle sgoriodd 52 o goliau cynghrair yn ei ddau gyfnod gyda'r clwb, oedd problemau teithio o’i gartref yn Crewe yn enwedig i ymarfer ddwywaith yr wythnos ym Mhorthmadog. Dywedodd ysgrifennydd y clwb, Gerallt Owen, “Mae’n drist i golli chwaraewr o allu Marc gyda’i record yn Uwch Gynghrair Cymru yn dweud y cyfan amdano. Marc gyda’i 24 gôl oedd un o'r prif resymau inni gadw ein safle yn UGC y tymor diwethaf. Diolchwn iddo am ei holl ymdrechion dros y clwb a dymunwn yn dda iddo yn y dyfodol.” The news which many supporters had feared has broken and the league’s master-striker, Marc Lloyd Williams, has left Port a matter of weeks after ending the season as the club’s leading scorer and having reached a magnificent 300 WPL career goals. The club confirmed today that the reason behind the departure of the 36 year old striker, who scored a total of 52 league goals during his two spells at the Traeth, was difficulty with travelling from his home in Crewe, especially to training twice a week in Porthmadog. Porthmadog Secretary Gerallt Owen said, "It is sad to lose a player of Marc's quality, his record in the Welsh Premier speaks for itself. He was a major reason for us staying up last season with his 24 goals. We thank him for his efforts for the club and wish him all the best for the future.” 01/06/09 Canlyniad y Tote Mis Mai / May Monthly Tote Result Tynnwyd rhifau Tote Misol Clwb Cymdeithasol Pêl-droed Porthmadog ar gyfer mis Mai yn y Ganolfan ar nos Wener 29 Mai. Sefydlwyd Clwb Pêl-droed Porthmadog yn 1884 - dim ond 73 mlynedd ar ôl sefydlu y dref ei hunain!- ac eleni mae'n dathlu ei ben-blwydd yn 125 oed. Bu'n un o glybiau amlycaf y wlad ar hyd y blynyddoedd ac fe brofodd sawl cyfnod euraidd o dim llwyddiannus yr amaturiaid yn y 50au i gyfnod y cawr, Mel Charles, yn y chwedegau, tîm 'Glannau Merswy' a chwipiodd pob cystadleuaeth am gyfnod yn y saithdegau, tîm lleol yr 80egau a gafodd cryn lwyddiant ac, wrth gwrs, ers dechrau'r nawdegau bu'n aelod o prif Gynghrair Cymru gyda pholisi pendant ag unigryw yn y Gogledd o ddibynnu ar dalent lleol yn hytrach na mewnforio chwaraewyr. Cynhelir yr achlysur yn y clwb cymdeithasol ar y Traeth ddydd Sadwrn 11 Gorffennaf am hanner dydd. Yn ôl y trefnydd, Dafydd Wyn Jones "Dim ond un tymor yn unig ers ei sefydlu methwyd a chynnal tîm ac, yn eironig, yn 1984 oedd hynny a ninnau yn 100 oed! Felly dyma wneud i fyny am hynny a dathlu'r 125. Bydd croeso i unrhyw chwaraewr a wisgodd y crys coch a du ar pa bynnag lefel i fynychu'r achlysur. Bydd bwffe ar gael i bawb a gobeithio y caiff y mynychwyr gyfle i hel atgofion am gyfnodau euraidd gyda hen ffrindiau a chyn-chwaraewyr eraill. Yn naturiol hoffem dderbyn cadarnhad gan y rhai sydd am fynychu er mwyn darparu yn deilwng ar gyfer pawb a gallwch wneud hynny trwy fy e-bostio ar dafyddwynjones@tiscali.co.uk neu ffonio ar 07810057444 neu 01766 762775. As part of its 125 year birthday celebrations one of Wales' oldest surviving football clubs is inviting all previous and current players to a reunion. Porthmadog Football Club was established in 1884 - just 73 years after the town itself was established! - and is organising the event at its clubhouse at the Traeth on Saturday 11th. July. Since its establishment the club has been a prominent fixture in Welsh football circles and has experienced several purple patches from the all conquering amateur team of the 1950's, the 'Mel Charles' side of the 60's, the Merseyside based team which swept all before it in the 70's, the very 'local' team of the 1980's and, of course, since the early 90's it has -apart from a short period- been a member of the Welsh Premiership. It has always espoused a policy of playing as many local players as possible, being unique at the highest level in north Wales for this stance. According to the organiser Dafydd Wyn Jones "In all its 125 year history the club has only once failed to play a team and, ironically, that was in 1984 when it was 100 years old! Therefore, we thought we would celebrate 125 years instead. Any player who has worn the red and black shirt at any time in the past, and our current players, are welcome to frequent the event. A buffet will be provided and it will be an opportunity for former players to discuss and reminisce about some golden times with other former colleagues some they may not have met for several years. Naturally we would like confirmation from those who intend attending to ensure that we can cater properly for everyone and this can be done by contacting me on e-mail at dafyddwynjones@tiscali.co.uk or by telephone on 07810057444 or 01766 762775. 28/05/09 8 uchaf neu i lawr a ni? / Top 8 or bust? Cafwyd cyfarfod ddydd Llun yn y Drenewydd rhwng cynrychiolwyr o Uwch Gynghrair Cymru a’r cynghreiriau sy’n ei bwydo i drafod goblygiadau'r "Deg Disglair”. Deallir eu bod wedi penderfynu y bydd timau yn cael ennill dyrchafiad o’r Cymru Alliance a Chynghrair Cymru y De ar ddiwedd tymor 2009/10 er gwaethaf y gostyngiad yn niferoedd yr Uwch Gynghrair i 10. Bydd hyn yn golygu bod rhaid gorffen yn yr 8 uchaf er mwyn cystadlu yn Uwch Gynghrair yn nhymor 2010/11, tra bydd timau fel Caernarfon a gwympodd o’r Gynghrair eleni yn wynebu tasg dipyn haws. Mewn ffordd, mae’r gynghrair yn cosbi timau fel Bala ac Ento Aberaman am sicrhau dyrchafiad i’r Uwch Gynghrair eleni, tra’n gwobrwyo clybiau fel Caernarfon a Chaersws am fynd i lawr. Mae’r penderfyniad hwn yn sicr o arwain at wrthwynebiad pellach i’r penderfyniad i beidio cael ail adran i Gynghrair Cymru. Mae’n sicr felly y bydd cyfarfod Bwrdd y Gynghrair yn Llandrindod ar 13 Mehefin yn un tanllyd a dweud y lleiaf. Er hynny, gall y gymdeithas ddefnyddio eu pleidlais aur i sathru ar unrhyw wrthwynebiad i’w cynlluniau. A meeting of representatives from the Welsh Premier League and its feeder leagues was held in Newtown on Monday to discuss the implications of the "Super 10". It is understood that they decided that teams from the Cymru Alliance and the Welsh League can be promoted at the end of the 2009/10 season, despite the fact that the numbers in the Welsh Premier will be reduced to 10. This will mean that teams have to finish in the top 8 to compete in the Welsh Premier in the 2010/11 season, while teams like Caernarfon who were relegated from the League this year face a much simpler task. In a way, the league is punishing teams like Bala and Ento Aberaman for being promoted to the Welsh Premier this season, while rewarding clubs like Caernarfon and Caersws for being relegated. This decision will definitely lead to further opposition to the decision to scrap the Welsh Premier’s second tier. The meeting of the League’s Board at Llandrindod on 13 June therefore promises to be a heated one to say the least. However, the FAW reserves the right to use their golden vote to quash any opposition to the plans. 24/05/09 Academi Dan-16 yn ennill Cwpan Cymru!! / Academy U-16’s win Welsh Academy Cup!! Yn y Drenewydd heddiw (24 Mai) coronwyd tymor ffantastig yr Academi gyda’r tîm Dan-16 yn cipio Cwpan Academi Cymru mewn gêm agos iawn yn erbyn Castell Nedd lle bu’n rhaid mynd i giciau o’r smotyn cyn i hogiau Port sicrhau’r fuddugoliaeth a chodi’r cwpan.
