27/08/12 Newid i gêm Bwcle / Change to Buckley fixture Mae’r gêm, a oedd i’w chwarae ar y Traeth ar bnawn Sadwrn 24 Tachwedd, yn erbyn Bwcle yn symud i’r Bwcle ac yn cael ei chwarae ar y noson cynt nos Wener, 23 Tachwedd. Golyga hyn bydd gan Port dair gêm anodd oddi cartref yn dilyn ei gilydd sef Penrhyncoch, Bwcle a’r Rhyl. Ar y llaw arall byddant wedyn yn gorffen y tymor gyda tair gêm yn olynol ar y Traeth yn erbyn yr un timau. The game against Buckley Town, due to be played at the Traeth on Saturday, 24 November has now been switched to Buckley and will be played on the previous evening Friday, 23 November. This means that Port face three very difficult away fixtures in succession Penrhyncoch followed by Buckley and Rhyl. On the plus side they will end the season with successive home matches against the same clubs. 26/08/12 Pob lwc i Gareth Jones Evans / Best of luck to Gareth Jones Evans Ein dymuniadau gorau i Gareth Jones Evans, sydd yn mynd i’r ysbyty ddydd Iau er mwyn tynnu pin o’r ffêr a dorrodd yn Stadiwm Glannau Dyfrdwy yn ôl yng nghanol mis Chwefror. Cafodd Gareth gyfnod hir a rhwystredig ond ar ôl ddydd Iau mae’n gobeithio gweld tro ar fyd a cam pwysig ymlaen yn ei wellhad. I Gareth Parry bu hefyd yn gyfnod o rhwystredigaeth yn colli un o’r chwaraewyr ifanc mwyaf talentog yn y clwb. Our best wishes to Gareth Jones Evans who on Thursday enters hospital to have a pin removed from the ankle he broke at the Deeside Stadium way back on the 18 February. Gareth has had a very frustrating time but after Thursday he hopes that things start looking up for him and it marks a next important step in his recovery. For Gareth Parry it has also been a frustrating period losing one of the most talented young players at the club. 25/08/12 Pathfinders ar y Traeth / Pathfinders at the Traeth Roedd yn dda croesawu y ‘Cricieth Pathfinders’ o’r Undeb Cristnogol ar eu ymweliad blynyddol â’r gwersyll yng Nghricieth. Roedd eu cefnogaeth yn y gemau yn erbyn Aberystwyth a Llandudno yn cael ei werthfawrogi gan y clwb. Dros y blynyddoedd adeiladwyd perthynas dda rhwng y clwb a’r Undeb Cristnogol. Creodd eu caneuon a’u bloeddio awyrgylch ardderchog oedd yn cael ei fwynhau’n fawr gan y chwaraewyr. Derbyniwyd y llun hwn gan Alex McGregor, un o’r Pathfinders. Llun o gôl Craig Roberts gyda chic o’r smotyn, y gôl i gwblhau ei hat tric. Diolch Alex. It was good to welcome the Cricieth Pathfinders from the Christian Union on their annual visit to their camp at Cricieth. Their support at the matches against Aberystwyth and Llandudno was very much welcomed by the club. Over recent years a happy bond has been established between the club and the Christian Union. Their songs and chants have created a super atmosphere which was much appreciated by the players. One of the Pathfinders Alex McGregor has sent us this photograph of Craig Roberts’ penalty against Aberystwyth, the goal which completed his hat trick. Thanks Alex. 24/08/12 Sicrhau ffitrwydd y garfan / Ensuring match fitness Mae cadw carfan yn ffit ar gyfer gemau heb ail dîm yn broblem, ac yn galw am ddyfeisgarwch. Dros y dyddiau diwethaf mae Gareth Parry wedi trefnu i ddau o’i garfan gael y cyfle i ennill y ffitrwydd angenrheidiol. Trefnwyd i Gareth Jones Evans fynd ar fenthyg i Bwllheli, unwaith fydd o dros ei anafiadau. Gan fod Gareth ar gytundeb gyda’r clwb mae’n bosib iddo fynd ar fenthyg ond mae’n rhaid cwblhau’r trefniadau cyn i’r ffenest drosglwyddo gau ar ddiwedd Awst. Nid yw’n debygol y bydd Gareth yn medru chwarae i Bwllheli am rai misoedd ond, gan fod cytundeb mewn lle, gall chwarae unwaith fydd yn rhydd o’r problemau meddygol perthnasol i’w ffêr a’i droed. Mae Dan Pyrs yn un arall sydd angen chwarae gemau wedi iddo fod allan o bêl-droed. Gan nad yw Dan ar gytundeb, ni all fynd ar fenthyg, a felly bydd yn arwyddo am gyfnod byr i’w gyn glwb, Llanrug. Mynegodd Gareth Parry ei ddiolch i Steve Smith a Gareth Piercy yn Pwllheli ac Aled Owen, rheolwr Llanrug, am eu cydweithrediad i wneud y trefniadau yma’n bosib. Ychwanegodd, “Rwy’n gobeithio bydd Pwllheli a Llanrug hefyd ar eu hennill o’r trefniant.” Ensuring a match fit squad without a reserve team requires some ingenuity. Gareth Parry has set up deals over the past few days to provide two of his current squad with an opportunity to attain match fitness. A loan deal has been arranged with Pwllheli to enable Gareth Jones Evans to regain match fitness once his injury problems have cleared. Gareth is a contracted player and so any future loan deals have to be sorted before the transfer window closes at the end of August. It is unlikely that Gareth will be able to play for Pwllheli for some months but the arrangement reached will enable him to play when he is free of medical problems relating to his broken ankle and foot injury. Dan Pyrs is another who requires game time after being out of football. As a non-contract player he cannot go on loan, so he will become a short term signing at former club Llanrug. Gareth Parry expressed his thanks to Steve Smith and Gareth Piercy at Pwllheli and Aled Owen, manager at Llanrug, for their co-operation in making these arrangements possible. He added,” I hope that both Pwllheli and Llanrug will also gain benefit from these arrangements.” 23/08/12 Port v Llanrhaeadr Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant fydd yr ymwelwyr i’r Traeth ddydd Sadwrn ac, fel Port, wedi cael gêm gyfartal yn eu gêm gyntaf o’r tymor ond wedi colli yn Rhaeadr yn yr ail gêm. Ond rhaid cyfaddef fod y canlyniad yn erbyn Derwyddon Cefn a ymddangosodd yn ffeinal Cwpan Cymru y tymor diwethaf yn dipyn o bluen yn het y rheolwr ifanc newydd Daniel Stevens. Tymor cyntaf anodd gafodd y clwb o’r canolbarth ar y lefel yma y llynedd gan lwyddo i ennill ond tair gêm gynghrair. Yn y 14eg safle oedd y clwb ac ond yn osgoi’r cwymp diolch i’r ffaith fod Y Drenewydd wedi osgoi colli eu lle yn UGC ar y funud olaf. Ond yn ystod y tymor llwyddodd Llanrhaeadr i achosi sawl sioc ac er fod Port wedi eu curo o sgôr mawr yng Nghwpan y Gynghrair gwahanol bu’r gemau cynghrair. Daeth y clwb o’r Canolbarth yn ôl gyda perfformiad llawn ysbryd yn yr ail hanner i rhannu’r pwyntiau ar eu cae eu hunain ac roedd angen gôl hwyr gan Graham Boylan i sicrhau y tri phwynt i Port ar y Traeth. Rhaid felly bod yn barod am frwydr arall ddydd Sadwrn. Mae Llanrhaeadr wedi colli dau chwaraewr allweddol yn Jamie Evans, oherwydd galwadau gwaith, a Ben White sydd wedi dychwelyd i Cegidfa ond wedi ychwanegu Dan Roberts, a gafodd ei rhyddhau gan TNS, a Michael Jordan o’r Amwythig a sgoriodd yn ei gêm gyntaf. Rhaid i Port edrych i sicrhau tri phwynt ddydd Sadwrn ar ôl perfformiadau yn erbyn Llandudno a Chonwy lle dylent fod wedi manteisio ar gyfleoedd i ennill y ddwy. Ond yn lle dim ond un pwynt allan o’r chwech sydd ganddynt. Anafiadau ydy’r broblem ganolog gyda’r capten Rhys Roberts allan am fis gan ei fod wedi tynnu llinyn y gar. Llanrhaeadr-ym –Mochnant will visit the Traeth on Saturday having, like Port, drawn their opening game and then suffered a defeat at the hands of promoted Rhayader Town. The draw was however a feather in the cap of new young manager Daniel Stevens and achieved against Cefn Druids who were Welsh Cup finalists last season. The mid-Wales club found life difficult at this level last season managing only three wins throughout. They finished the season in 14th position avoiding the drop thanks to Newtown’s last minute reprieve. But they still managed to cause a few surprises along the way. Though Port enjoyed a big League Cup win over them, supporters will not however need reminding that Llanrhaeadr produced two very competitive League performances against us last season. They came back with a spirited second half performance to share the points at home and it needed a late winner from Graham Boylan to give us the three points at the Traeth. We should therefore prepare for another tough fight again on Saturday. They have lost the services of two key players in Jamie Evans, due to work commitments, and Ben White who has returned to Guilsfield, but have added Dan Roberts, a forward released by TNS, and Michael Jordan from Shrewsbury –who scored on debut- to their squad. Port will certainly be looking to record their first win after performances against Llandudno and Conwy where they could and probably should have picked all the points. Instead they find themselves with one point out of six. Injuries remain the core problem with skipper Rhys Roberts probably out for a month with a pulled hamstring. 20/08/12 Port v Conwy / Port v Conwy Borough `Nos yfory (nos Fawrth am 7.30pm) bydd Port yn chwarae Conwy, clwb sydd wedi gweld newid mawr a’u tîm wedi cryfhau yn sylweddol. Cafodd yr ymwelwyr fuddugoliaeth yn eu gêm gyntaf, adref yn erbyn Caergybi. Cafodd eu rheolwr newydd Chris Herbert amser prysur yn arwyddo dros yr haf. Gyda Eddie Jebb a Peter Hoy yn cyrraedd o Fangor mae ganddynt dipyn o brofiad yn y tîm. Hefyd caiff Mark Jones, sydd yn ffurfio partneriaeth newydd yn y blaen gyda Tom McGill, ddychwelyd yn fuan i’w hen glwb ar y Traeth. Tra fod Port yn gymharol fodlon gyda un pwynt yn Llandudno roedd yna gyfle i gipio’r tri phwynt ar ôl gwella’n sylweddol yn yr ail hanner. Gyda’r ddau dîm yn chwilio am fuddugoliaeth nos yfory mae’n bosib y cawn gêm ddiddorol iawn. Tomorrow night (Tuesday,7.30pm.) Port will play a much changed and much strengthened Conwy Borough. The visitors got their league programme off to a winning start at home to Holyhead last Friday. New manager Chris Herbert has been the busiest manager during the summer, signing what is virtually a new team. The arrival of Eddie Jebb and Peter Hoy from Bangor will provide plenty of experience while Mark Jones will have a quick return to the Traeth as part of a new strike partnership with Tom McGill. While Port will be satisfied with a point at Llandudno they could have picked up all three points after a much improved second half performance. Both sides will be looking for maximum points from what could be an intriguing contest. 19/08/12 Scott Sephton yn arwyddo / Scott Sephton signs Croesawn Scott Sephton i glwb Porthmadog. Arwyddwyd Scott o glwb Pilkingtons (St Helens) mewn pryd iddo chwarae ei gêm gyntaf i Port yn y gêm gyfartal 2-2 yn Llandudno ddydd Sadwrn. Daeth y chwaraewr 21 oed drwy system ieuenctid clwb Leigh Genesis (Leigh RMI cynt) ac fe fu gyda’r clwb o’r Northern Premier (y Gogledd) am nifer o dymhorau. We extend a warm welcome to Scott Sephton who signed for Porthmadog from Pilkingtons FC (St Helens) in time to make his début in the 2-2 draw at Llandudno on Saturday. Scott, a 21 year old midfielder, is a youth product of Leigh Genesis FC (formerly Leigh RMI) and has been with the Northern Premier League (North) club for several seasons. 16/08/12 Y tymor yn cychwyn yn Llandudno / Season opens at Llandudno Bydd Port yn cychwyn eu tymor wrth ymweld â’r Maesdu, cartref clwb Llandudno. Nid lle hawdd i sicrhau’r pwyntiau, fel mae Port wedi gweld yn ddiweddar. Crafu buddugoliaeth llynedd, ar ôl colli’n drwm y flwyddyn cynt. Yr hyn sy’n gyffredin i’r ddwy gêm honno, a rownd cynderfynol Cwpan y Gynghrair ym mis Ebrill, ydy’r gwynt eithriadol o gryf a wnaeth y dair gêm yn dipyn o hap a damwain. Mae Deiniol Graham, rheolwr profiadol Llandudno, wedi ychwanegu enw Tony Cann, o glwb y Derwyddon, at ei garfan ond at ei gilydd bydd yn dibynnu ar garfan sydd wedi bod yn sefydlog am sawl tymor. Bydd Cann yn ymuno â Lee Thomas, Chris Melia a’r addawol Dean Seager mewn llinell flaen a all roi prawf ar unrhyw amddiffyn. Prif broblem Gareth Parry ydy’r rhestr hir o anafiadau a, mewn cyfweliad gyda Dave Jones o’r Herald, dywedodd, “Mae’n debyg mai hwn ydy’r cyfnod cyn dymor gwaethaf, mwyaf rhwystredig imi gael ers cymryd at yr awenau .... Mae llawer o waith wedi’i wneud wrth baratoi at y tymor newydd ond mae’r rhan fwyaf o hynny wedi mynd allan drwy’r ffenest, a bellach rhaid fod yn barod am ddechrau anodd i’r tymor.” Dywedodd y rheolwr wrth yr Herald fod dychweliad Ceri James yn rhoi i Port “... chwaraewr sy’n sicr o fod yn ddylanwadol yng nghanol y cae, tra fod yn dda cael Graham Boylan efo ni am y tymor, wedi iddo greu argraff pan oedd gyda ni at ddiwedd y tymor diwethaf.” Am y tri chwaraewr newydd arall mae’n gweld fod gan Gruffydd John Williams, chwaraewr rhyngwladol Ysgolion Cymru, “... y potensial a’r agwedd i adael ei farc ar gynghrair hon ac mae Mark Jones a Richard Owen wedi creu argraff yn y gemau cyn dymor gan ddangos eu bod yn ddigon da i gamu fyny o’r Welsh Alliance.” Gobeithio y cawn Sadwrn di-wynt, tawel a llonydd! Port open their season with a visit to Maesdu, the home of Llandudno, never an easy place to go as Port have found to their cost on recent visits. They scraped a narrow victory last season having lost heavily the previous season. The common factor in both games and the League Cup semi-final in April was the gale force wind which made all three games a bit of a lottery. Llandudno manager, the experienced Deiniol Graham, has added Tony Cann, a striker from Cefn Druids, to his squad but will rely mainly on a squad which has remained settled over several seasons. Cann will join Lee Thomas, Chris Melia and the promising young Dean Seager in a forward line up to worry most defences. Gareth Parry’s main concern is his lengthy injury list and talking to Dave Jones of the Herald he says, “This has probably been the worst, most frustrating pre-season I’ve had since taking over as manager ... A lot of work has gone into preparing for the season but most of it has gone out of the window and we must now change our focus for a tough start to the season.” The manager told the Herald that Ceri James’s return provides the club with a player who “.... is sure to be influential in midfield while Graham Boylan will be available to us for the whole season after he made a favourable impression since joining us towards the end of last season.” Of the other three newcomers he says that young Welsh Schools international Gruffydd John Williams “...has the potential and attitude to really leave his mark on the league while Mark Jones and Richard Owen have also shown up well during pre-season and are making the step up from the Welsh Alliance without looking out of place.” Let’s hope for a quiet, calm windless Saturday at Maesdu! 14/08/12 Tymor ar fin cychwyn / Season 2012/13 kicks off Tymor arall ar fin cychwyn gyda gobeithion yn uchel ar draws y gynghrair â’r cyfan yn argoeli am Gynghrair Undebol gystadleuol iawn. Unwaith eto y Rhyl fydd y ffefrynnau amlwg gyda Bwcle a orffennodd yn 3ydd llynedd yn gobeithio fod y cryfhau a wnaed dros yr haf yn dwyn ffrwyth. Mae’n werth ail adrodd un ffaith, roedd record Port llynedd yn union yr un fath ac un y Rhyl. Ennill 19, Cyfartal 5, Colli 6. Roedd record sgorio’r Rhyl dipyn gwell gyda 80 gôl, ond bydd Gareth Parry yn gobeithio gall bresenoldeb Graham Boylan wella hyn, ac roedd ei gyfraniad at ddiwedd y tymor diwethaf yn awgrymu y gall wneud gwahaniaeth. Mae Derwyddon Cefn a Conwy yn ddau glwb arall a allai roi sialens am y teitl. Bydd y Derwyddon yn elwa’n ariannol o gyrraedd Ewrop ac mae bwrdd newydd Conwy wedi caniatáu i Chris Herbert adeiladu carfan gryf, gystadleuol. Barn Dave Jones yn ei flog ydy “Os byddwn yn fwci byddwn yn debygol o enwi’r Rhyl yn ffefrynnau gyda’r Derwyddon yn agos atynt.” Mae ‘r cylchgrawn ‘Welsh Football’ yn cytuno gan ddweud, “Rhyl oedd ail llynedd tu ôl i Gei Conna ac a’r hawl felly i’w cyfri’n ffefrynnau ar gyfer 2012/13. Mae Gareth Parry yn enwi Penrhyncoch gyda’r triawd profiadol, Bari Morgan, Sion Meredith ac Aneurin Thomas, yn y garfan yn glwb allai achosi sioc. Mae’n ychwanegu “Roedd ddim yn syndod imi eu bod wedi gorffen yn 5ed llynedd, a fydd yn ddim syndod chwaith eu gweld yn y frwydr ym Mawrth/dechrau Ebrill ar ôl arwyddo chwaraewyr ardderchog dros yr haf i ychwanegu at y garfan.” Bydd gan Llandudno, Caersws, Fflint a Chaergybi hefyd rhan yn y frwydr ar y brig. Bydd angen cychwyn da ar glybiau, gyda dwy gêm ganol wythnos erbyn ddiwedd Medi bydd 9 o’r 30 gêm gynghrair wedi’u chwarae ac felly bydd y gemau cynnar yma yn allweddol. Gobeithio am well lwc i Port gyda rhai o’r anafiadau’n clirio’n fuan. Another season begins with high hopes all round and everything points to a another competitive HGA season. Rhyl will again start as many people’s favourites with Buckley Town, last season’s 3rd placed club after further strengthening, hoping they can go a step further. It is worth saying again that Port despite a lean spell in February/March ended with a playing record that identically matched that of Rhyl. Won 19 Drawn 5 Lost 6. Port however could not match Rhyl’s goal scoring tally of 80 goals. Gareth Parry will hope that Graham Boylan can help to improve this department and his form at the end of the season suggests that he can make a difference. Cefn Druids and Conwy Borough are two other clubs who will take the fancy of many. Druids, to be supplemented by money from their European adventure, look certain to mount a serious challenge while the new board at Conwy have allowed Chris Herbert to build a strong, experienced looking squad. Dave Jones (Daily Post) gives the following judgement in his blog, “If I was a bookmaker, I'd probably put Rhyl down as favourites for the title with Druids close behind.” Welsh Football Magazine agrees saying, “Rhyl finished runners-up to Nomads, and so can be justifiably start as favourites in 2012/13.” Gareth Parry names Penrhyncoch, with the experienced trio of Bari Morgan, Sion Meredith and Aneurin Thomas added to the squad as ”This seasons dark horse.” He adds, “ I wasn’t surprised they finished 5th last season and wouldn’t be surprised at all if they were in the mix come the end March/start April after making excellent signings to add to their impressive squad over the summer.” Llandudno, Caersws, Flint and promoted Holyhead will all have a big say in the final outcome. All clubs will look for a good start as by the end of September, with the added two midweek league games, 9 of the season’s 30 games will be completed. So here’s hoping that Port’s injury crisis improves quickly as these early matches could prove crucial. 12/08/12 Cynrychiolydd newydd yr Arfordir / New NWCFA representative Eric Wyn Jones o Benygroes fydd yn cymryd y sedd wag ar Gyngor y Gymdeithas Bêl-droed. Roedd yn llwyddiannus yn yr is-etholiad diweddar i ddewis olynydd i Ioan Wyn Jones a ymddiswyddodd am resymau iechyd. Bydd Eric Wyn Jones yn cynrychioli clybiau Cymdeithas yr Arfordir. Fel hyn aeth y pleidleisio: Eric Wyn Jones 16 pleidlais, Brian Owen 5 pleidlais a David Jones Y Rhyl 4 pleidlais. The vacant seat on the FAW Council will be taken by Eric Wyn Jones of Penygroes. He was successful in the recent bye-election to replace Ioan Wyn Jones who resigned recently for health reasons. Eric Wyn Jones will represent the clubs of the NWCFA. The voting was as follows: Eric Wyn Jones 16 Votes, Brian Owen Llangefni 5 Votes and David Jones Rhyl 4 Votes. 10/08/12 Gêm cyn dymor olaf / Final pre-season fixture Bydd Port yn chwarae eu gêm cyn dymor olaf pnawn yfory (Sadwrn) adref i Aberystwyth gyda’r gic gyntaf am 2.30pm. Port play their final pre-season fixture tomorrow (Saturday) at home to Aberystwyth with a 2.30pm kick off. 09/08/12 Aberystwyth ar y Traeth / Aberystwyth at the Traeth Daw cyn reolwr Port Tomi Morgan yn ôl i’r Traeth gyda tîm Aberystwyth sydd wedi gweld cryn newid dros yr haf. Bydd y gêm hon yn brawf anodd i Port, yr anoddaf o’u gemau cyn dymor. Gyda’i lygad ar orffen yn y chwe uchaf neu well, mae Tomi wedi bod yn brysur iawn yn ystod yr haf. Ymysg yr enwau newydd mae’r ddau o Lanelli –Stuart Jones, un o amddiffynwyr gorau’r UGC, a’r blaenwr ifanc Jordan Follows. Mae’r golwr Mike Lewis yn ymuno o Gaerfyrddin ac mae’r newydd ddyfodiaid eraill yn cynnwys Gavin Cadwallader ac Adam Worton (Airbus), Matty Collins (Castell Nedd) a Josh MacAuley a Darren Griffiths. Yn dychwelyd i’r clwb mae Cledan Davies a Glyndwr Hughes. Mae’r chwaraewyr sydd wedi gadael y clwb yn cynnwys Geoff Kellaway a’r golwr Steve Cann. Dyma’r olaf o’r gemau cyn dymor, cyn i’r frwydr gychwyn o ddifri. Felly bydd y ddau glwb yn awyddus i roi perfformiad dal. Former Port manager Tomi Morgan brings his revamped Aberystwyth team to the Traeth on Saturday and will provide Port with their sternest test so far this season. With an eye to, at worst, a top six finish Tomi has been one of the busiest club managers during pre-season. Amongst the new faces are two from Llanelli –Stuart Jones, one of the WPL’s best defenders, and young striker Jordan Follows. Goalkeeper Mike Lewis joins from Carmarthen and other newcomers include Gavin Cadwallader and Adam Worton (Airbus), Matty Collins (Neath), Darren Griffiths and Josh MacAuley. Cledan Davies and Glyndwr Hughes also return to the club. Players leaving the club include Geoff Kellaway and keeper Steve Cann. This is the final pre-season game before the battle for points begins so both sides will be looking for good performances. 09/08/12 Anafiadau yn broblem / Injury worries Mae’r anafiadau a brofodd gymaint o rwystr y tymor diwethaf yn bygwth eto y tymor hwn. Mae’n debyg y bydd Gareth Parry yn gorfod dewis o garfan sydd heb nifer o'r chwaraewyr a hynny ar gyfer prawf anodd wrth i Aberystwyth ymweld â’r Traeth. Yr hyn sy’n fwy o boen ydy y bydd rhai yn cael trafferth i fod yn ffit erbyn y gêm gynghrair yn erbyn Llandudno yn Maesdu. Ar wahân i anafiadau tymor hir i Carl Owen a Gareth Jones Evans mae Aaron Richmond, Dan Pyrs a Mark Jones i gyd yn dioddef o anafiadau ffêr. Mae gam Grahame Austin anaf i’w benglin tra fod gan Steve Kehoe anaf i’r groin a Rhys Roberts llinyn y gar. A dydd Sadwrn hefyd bydd Phil Williams yn dal ar wyliau a Graham Boylan mewn priodas. Ychwanegodd Gareth Parry, “Mae rhai o’r anafiadau wedi digwydd a dim y gallai wneud i’w nadu nhw, ond eraill efallai wedi dod wrth i hogia chwarae gormod yn rhy fuan am fod nifer o’r hogia eraill ddim ar gael. Mae’r cyfnod cyn dymor yn cael ei gynllunio fel bod yr hogia yn adeiladu’n raddol i chwarae 90 munud. Mae llawer o bethau a gynlluniwyd yn ofalus cyn i’r tymor gychwyn wedi gorfod mynd allan drwy’r ffenestr oherwydd yr anafiadau.” Injuries which had such a detrimental effect on last season appear to be rearing their heads again this season. It looks likely that Gareth Parry will be selecting from a limited squad for Saturday’s testing game at the Traeth when Aberystwyth are the visitors. And what is more worrying is that it may well be touch and go for some to be fit for the season opener against Llandudno at Maesdu. Apart from long term injuries to Carl Owen and Gareth Jones Evans, Aaron Richmond, Dan Pyrs and Mark Jones have all suffered ankle injuries. Grahame Austin is still suffering from a knee injury while Steve Kehoe has a groin injury and Rhys Roberts hamstring. For Saturday they will be without Phil Williams who is on holiday and Gareth Boylan who is attending a wedding. Gareth Parry added, “There are some injuries which you just can’t legislate for but others have come about when players have to spend too long on the pitch too soon, through lack of player availability. Pre-season is planned so that the lads can build up gradually to playing 90 minutes. Many things that were carefully planned for pre-season have gone out of the window because of injuries.” 08/08/12 Y garfan yn agos i’w chwblhau /Squad nears completion Er ei fod yn bwriadu ychwanegu un neu ddau chwaraewr arall cyn dechrau’r tymor, mae carfan Gareth Parry mwy neu lai wedi’i chwblhau. Gyda Darren Thomas, Grahame Austin, Rhys Roberts, Richard Harvey, Chris Williams, Craig Roberts, Ryan Davies, Ceri James, Gareth Jones-Evans a Steve Kehoe eisoes wedi arwyddo, mae saith arall hefyd wedi’u hychwanegu at y rhestr. Bu Aaron Richmond, Phil Williams, Ryan Connolly a Jason Harvey yn aelodau o’r garfan llynedd ac mae’r pedwar wedi arwyddo eto. Mae Gruffydd John Williams, a chwaraeodd 5 gêm i Port llynedd, wedi dychwelyd i’r clwb o Lanrug. Dau enw newydd ydy’r blaenwr, Mark Jones o Bwllheli a Richard Owen o Lanfairpwll. Hyn yn dilyn eu perfformiadau yn y gemau cyn dymor. Though he still aims to bring in one or two players before the season starts, Gareth Parry has more or less completed his squad. With Darren Thomas, Grahame Austin, Rhys Roberts, Richard Harvey, Chris Williams, Craig Roberts, Ryan Davies, Ceri James, Gareth Jones-Evans and Steve Kehoe already signed up, seven more players have been added to that list. Aaron Richmond, Phil Williams, Ryan Connolly and Jason Harvey, all members of last season’s squad, have been re-signed. Gruffydd John Williams, who made five appearances last season, has now returned from Llanrug. Mark Jones, a striker from Pwllheli, and another forward Richard Owen, from Llanfairpwll, are two new faces who have joined Port following a successful showing in pre-season matches. 03/08/12 Gêm Grappenhall wedi gohirio / Grappenhall game off Mae'r gêm gyfeillgar oddi-cartref yn erbyn Grappenhall o Warrington, oedd i fod i gael ei chwarae fory - 4ydd Awst - wedi'i gohirio. Y gêm gyfeillgar nesaf felly fydd gartref yn erbyn Aberystwyth ar yr 11eg o Awst. The away friendly against Grappenhall of Warrington, which was due to be played tomorrow - the 4th August - has been postponed. The next friendly will therefore be the home game against Aberystwyth on the 11th August. 01/08/12 Port yn teithio i Warrington / Port travel to Warrington Ddydd Sadwrn bydd Port yn teithio i Warrington i chwarae Grappenhall Sports ar eu cae yn Stockton Lane sydd yn ganolfan chwaraeon amlbwrpas. Clwb sy’n chwarae yn Adran Gyntaf Cynghrair Sir Gaer ydy Grappenhall. Mae hyn yn dilyn ennill dyrchafiad yn 2010/11. Felly maent yn chwarae yn yr un adran â Pilkingtons gan orffen 4 safle yn is yn y tabl yn 2011/12. Dim ond y gêm hon, a’r un ar y Traeth yn erbyn Aberystwyth, sy’n weddill cyn fod y tymor swyddogol yn cychwyn. I gefnogwyr sy’n bwriadu teithio, Cod post Clwb Chwaraeon Grappenhall ydy WA4 3HQ On Saturday Port travel to Warrington, where they take on Grappenhall Sports at their Stockton Lane Ground, a multi-sport facility. Bydd croeso arbennig i John Gwynfor Jones, rheolwr clwb Nefyn. Chwaraeodd John 133(+5) o gemau UGC dros Porthmadog. Tymor diwethaf dioddefodd Port oherwydd nifer fawr o anafiadau drwg ac mae’r cyfnod cyn dymor wedi gweld sawl chwaraewr yn cael anaf. Ni deithiodd Grahame Austin, Arran Richmod na Steve Kehoe i Retford tra fod Dan Pyrs a Richard Owen wedi gadel y cae oherwydd anaf. Gobeithio am well lwc a gwellhad er mwyn i Gareth Parry gael y pleser prin o ddewis o garfan lawn cyn ddechrau’r tymor. After their long journey to Retford, Port are back at the Traeth on Tuesday night when the visitors will be Nefyn United. It will be a return for a Traeth favourite John Gwynfor Jones the Nefyn manager who made 133 (+5) WPL appearances for Porthmadog. Following a season when injuries proved a major problem the pre- season has started with several players already taking knocks. Grahame Austin, Arran Richmond and Steve Kehoe did not travel to Retford due to injury while Dan Pyrs and Richard Owen both picked up knocks at Retford. Let’s hope for an early return to fitness so that Gareth Parry is able to enjoy the rare luxury of selecting from a fully fit squad before the new season kicks off. 29/07/12 Diolch i’r Rookyards / Our thanks to the Rookyards Er ein bod mewn peryg o godi gwrychyn tri o gefnogwyr brwd Porthmadog, rhaid inni dynnu sylw at y gefnogaeth a dderbyniwyd gan deulu’r Rookyards o Ashton-in-Makerfield ger Manceinion. Diolch Martin, Maria a Simon am eich rhodd hael i goffrau’r clwb ac am eich cefnogaeth rheolaidd drwy’r bêl fonws a’r draw wythnosol. Medrwn fynd ymlaen gan eu bod hefyd wedi noddi tri chwaraewr ar gyfer y tymor nesaf. Mae Martin a Simon yn ymweld â’r Traeth yn aml gyda Martin yn gwybod, wrth iddo gerdded drwy’r gatiau, y bydd angen ei gyngor ar amrywiaeth o faterion trydanol neu thechnegol! Ni gafodd Maria’r iechyd gorau yn ddiweddar ac, er mae hi ydy’r mwyaf brwd ei chefnogaeth, nid yw wedi bod ar y Traeth ers dipyn. Gobeithio fydd hyn yn newid yn ystod y tymor nesaf. Rhaid peidio methu allan chwaith ar longyfarch Simon sydd yr haf yma wedi graddio mewn Astroffiseg ym mhrifysgol Manceinion. Pob lwc iddo yn ei yrfa academaidd i’r dyfodol. At the risk of annoying a family of notable Port supporters, the club feels that it cannot allow the backing received from the Rookyard family of Ashton-in-Makerfield near Manchester to go entirely unnoticed. Thanks Martin, Maria and Simon for your generous donation to club coffers and also for your regular support of the weekly draw and bonus ball. We could go on, for they have also sponsored three players for the coming season. Martin and Simon also make regular visits to the Traeth with Martin knowing that once he gets through the gate he will be repairing or advising on a variety of technical or electrical matters! Maria has not enjoyed the best of health and, though she is the keenest Port supporter in the family, has not been able to visit the Traeth for some time. We hope this will change during the coming season. We cannot miss out on congratulating Simon who has graduated this summer at the University of Manchester in Astrophysics. We wish him well in his future academic career. 28/07/12 Retford yn rhoi croeso Cymraeg / Retford give a Welsh welcome Os byddwch yn ymweld a gwefan Retford ar http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/retfordunited/ cewch eich synnu i weld fod y clwb o Swydd Nottingham wedi cynnwys eitem amlwg yn y Gymraeg yn rhan o’u croeso. Gyda’r tymor yn cychwyn yr wythnos ganlynol bydd yn gyfle inni weld beth mae’r tîm reoli newydd, Richard Stennet a Mark Turner, wedi roi at eu gilydd yn ystod yr haf.” I gefnogwyr sydd am deithio i Retford y cyfeiriad a'r cod post ydy: Parc Cannon, Ffordd Leverton, Retford, Swydd Nottingham DN22 6QF Porthmadog FC break new ground on Saturday when they travel to Retford, a market town on the Nottinghamshire/Lincolnshire border, to take on Retford United nicknamed The Badgers at their Cannon Park ground. Retford United play in the Baris Northern Counties East League and are the current 2011/12 Premier League champions missing out on promotion to the Northern Premier League for what are described by the EFA as ‘outstanding issues’. The club will therefore remain in the Baris NCEL, a league on a par with the North West Counties League, for the 2012/13 season. The club have however previously played in Northern Premier League for several seasons. The visit of Port has been given due attention on the Retford website including the following; “This is a fantastic friendly for Retford United and it is hoped that the draw of a Welsh side will bring a large crowd to give supporters from all over the area a chance to see something different. With the League season starting only a week later, then it will be an opportunity to see what the new management of Richard Sennett and Mark Turner have managed to put together in their first close season with the club.” For any supporters intending to travel to Retford the address and postcode is Cannon Park, Leverton Road, RETFORD, Notts, DN22 6QF 25/07/12 Mwy o dreialon Academi / More Academy Trials Mae Academi CPD Porthmadog wedi trefnu treialon i chwaraewyr Dan-14 i’w cynnal ar fore Sul, 5 Awst.
