Chwaraeodd 184 o’r gêmau yma yn lliwiau Bangor. Dydd Sul bydd ei unfed gêm ar bymtheg i Port. Hefyd dechreuodd dwy gêm i glwb Y Rhyl. Hyd yma mae wedi sgorio 113 o goliau yn Uwch Gynghrair Cymru. Paul Roberts, who rejoined Porthmadog in the summer, will make his 200th start in the WPL if he appears in Sunday’s game at the Traeth against Haverfordwest. 184 of these appearances were made in the colours of Bangor City. He is set to make his 16th appearance for Port on Sunday and has also started twice for Rhyl FC. He has scored 113 WPL goals during this period. 05/09/07 Cic Gyntaf dydd Sul am hanner dydd / Kick off at Noon on Sunday Tynnir sylw cefnogwyr at y cychwyniad cynnar sydd i’r gêm ar Y Traeth ddydd Sul nesaf (9 Medi). Er mwyn osgoi chwarae yr un adeg â gêm gyntaf Cymru yng Nghwpan Rygbi’r Byd yn erbyn Canada, bydd y gic gyntaf ar Y Traeth am12 o’r gloch ganol dydd. Hwlffordd fydd yr ymwelwyr ac mae yna groeso cynnes i gefnogwyr weld y gêm rygbi yn fyw yn y “Clubhouse” yn dilyn y bêl droed. Supporters are reminded that Sunday’s home match (October 9th), when Haverfordwest will be the visitors, will kick off at 12 noon. This will avoid a clash with Wales’ Rugby World Cup game against France. Why not watch the rugby, which will be shown live in the Clubhouse, after the Port v Haverfordwest game? 05/09/07 Chwaraewyr newydd yn cyrraedd / New Arrivals at the Traeth Mae Clayton Blackmore wedi ymateb i’r cychwyn gwael a gafwyd i’r tymor gyda phedwar enw newydd wedi’u cadarnhau yn barod cyn i ffenest drosglwyddo Uwch Gynghrair Cymru gau ddydd Llun, 10 Medi. Yr unig enw ymysg y pedwar a fydd yn gyfarwydd i ddilynwyr UGC ydy Adam Docker sydd wedi ymddangos i glwb Bangor yn ystod y ddau dymor diwethaf. Bu gynt yn aelod o ail dîm Altrincham a hefyd cafodd brofiad gyda Bury. Ymunodd â Bangor yn 2005/06. Ar ôl cael ei ryddhau gan Fangor, ymunodd â Chorley o’r Gynghrair Unibond. Mae Adam yn amddiffynnwr cadarn a gall hefyd chwarae yng nghanol y cae. Arwyddwyd Warren Beattie hefyd, chwaraewr a ryddhawyd gan Preston North End yn ystod yr haf. Bu gyda Fleetwood ar brawf ar ôl hynny. Mae Clayton wedi bod yn cadw llygad ar y chwaraewr 20 oed yma ers yr haf ond, oherwydd anaf, heb gael y cyfle tan yn ddiweddar i’w weld yn chwarae. Y ddau arall ydy Karl Luisi, ymosodwr sydd wedi bod gydag academi ac ail dîm Bolton, ac Andrew Maitland sydd wedi bod gyda chlwb dinas Bradford. Bydd pob un, heblaw am Maitland sydd ag anaf i’w ffêr, ar gael at ddydd Sul os bydd y caniatâd rhyngwladol wedi’i sicrhau. Gydag ychydig ddyddiau yn weddill cyn i’r ffenest drosglwyddo gau, mae’n bosib y gwelwn fwy o chwaraewyr yn cyrraedd Y Traeth. Porthmadog manager Clayton Blackmore has been busy signing players in response to the team’s poor start to the new campaign with four arrivals confirmed already before the Welsh Premier transfer window closes on Monday September 10th. The only name which will be known to Welsh Premier followers is Adam Docker who made a few appearances for Bangor over the past two seasons. Formerly a member of Altrincham's reserve squad with previous experience at Bury, he joined Bangor City in season 2005/6. Released from Farrar Road at the start of 2007 and joined Unibond outfit Chorley. Adam is a strong defender or midfield player. Also signed is Warren Beattie a 20 year old midfield player who is a product of the Preston youth system and was recently on trial at Fleetwood. Clayton has been monitoring Beattie throughout the summer but injury has restricted his chances to see the player in action until last week. Karl Luisi, a striker who was with Bolton at Academy and Reserves level and Andrew Maitland, who has been with Bradford City, are the other two signings All apart from Maitland, who has picked up an ankle injury before kicking a ball for the club, will be considered for the squad on Sunday as long as international clearance has been obtained. With a few days still to go before the window closes other arrivals may also be coming. 03/09/07 Clayton yn arwyddo Golwr / Clayton signs new keeper Cafwyd ymateb sydyn gan y rheolwr, Clayton Blackmore, i sicrhau golwr tra fod Richard Harvey allan yn dioddef o anaf. Arwyddwyd Joe Sagar, golwr deunaw oed, o glwb Mossley sy'n chwarae yn Adran Un Cynghrair Unibond. Chwaraeodd Sagar am y tro cyntaf i Borthmadog ar Barc Latham ddydd Sadwrn. Roedd y golwr ifanc yn arfer chwarae gyda Glasgow Rangers, ac yn aelod o dîm Academi’r clwb a enillodd Gynghrair Academi’r Alban. Hefyd, treuliodd gyfnod byr ar fenthyg gydag Albion Rovers. Manager Clayton Blackmore moved quickly to sign new keeper, Joe Sagar, as cover for the injured Richard Harvey. The 18 year old made his debut at Latham Park on Saturday having transferred from Unibond Div. One club, Mossley FC. He was previously with Glasgow Rangers having been a member of their Academy side which won the Scottish Academy League. He also spent a brief loan spell at Albion Rovers. 03/09/07 Yr Ail Dîm ym mis Awst / Reserves August Round-up Roedd yn rhaid i Port aros tan gêm olaf y mis i gael eu buddugoliaeth gyntaf o’r tymor. Curwyd Caergybi o 4-3 gyda Dylan Jones yn atgoffa Clayton Blackmore o’i allu fel sgoriwr gyda hat tric. Matthew Hughes sgoriodd y gôl arall. Dechreuodd y tymor yn siomedig gan golli o 3-0 adref yn erbyn Real Llandudno un o dimau gwannaf y gynghrair llynedd. Dilynwyd hyn gyda gêm gyfartal 3-3 ar y Traeth wrth groesawu’r cymdogion o Lanystumdwy. Brwydrodd yr ymwelwyr yn ôl ar ôl bod 3-1 ar ei hol hi. Y sgorwyr i Port oedd Clayton Blackmore, Paul Roberts a Matthew Hughes. Ymweliad i’r Bermo a ddilynodd ac roedd pencampwyr y llynedd ar eu gorau yn curo Port o 6-2. Matthew Hughes a Ceri Roberts oedd y sgorwyr i Port. Ar ôl dod yn ôl i wneud y sgôr yn gyfartal yn Bethel, sgoriodd y tîm cartref gôl hwyr i gipio’r tri phwynt o 3-2. Y sgorwyr i Port oedd Iwan Thomas a Ceri Roberts. Gobithiwn am well lwc ym mis Medi. The reserves did not record their first Gwynedd League win until the final game of the month when they won by 4-3 at Holyhead. Dylan Jones reminded Clayton Blackmore of his good form with a hat-trick and the other goal was scored by Matthew Hughes. The season started with a disappointing home defeat by 3-0 against last season’s whipping boys Real Llandudno. This was followed by a 3-3 home derby draw against promoted Llanstumdwy who fought back to earn the draw after Port had taken a 3-1 lead with goals from Clayton Blackmore, Paul Roberts and Matthew Hughes. Next Port visited Barmouth and found last season’s champions in rampant mood going down to a 6-2 defeat with the Porthmadog goals coming from Matthew Hughes and Ceri Roberts. Although they pulled back to level the scores at 2-2 away at Bethel, they went on to concede a late goal going down 3-2 with Iwan Thomas and Ceri Roberts the scorers. Now that August is over let’s look forward to better results in September. 29/08/07 Argyfwng anafiadau yn taro Port / Injury Crisis hits Port Yn ogystal â’r anaf difrifol i’w capten, Ryan Davies, bydd y clwb heb nifer o chwaraewyr eraill yn eu gêm i ffwrdd yn Y Drenewydd. Gallai Mike Foster a’r chwaraewr reolwr, Clayton Blackmore, fod allan am sawl wythnos y ddau wedi tynnu llinyn y gâr a hefyd bydd Richard Harvey, a frwydrodd ymlaen ar ôl derbyn anaf yn erbyn Caernarfon, ddim ar gael ddydd Sadwrn. Bydd Danny Hughes hefyd allan ar ôl dioddef anafiadau ‘whiplash’ mewn damwain car. Mae’r chwaraewyr yma yn rhai allweddol ac mae’n bosib’ iawn bydd rhaid i’r rheolwr symud yn fuan i ychwanegu at ei garfan. Maent yn wynebu gêm anodd ddydd Sadwrn gan fod Darren Ryan wedi cryfhau ei garfan yn Y Drenewydd drwy ychwanegu chwaraewyr fel Marc Lloyd Williams, Craig Moses (Merthyr), Danny Jellicoe ( Cei Conna), a Hugh Clarke (Caersws). In addition to the serious injury to skipper Ryan Davies, the club will be missing several other players for their first away fixture at Newtown on Saturday. Mike Foster and player manager Clayton Blackmore could be out for several weeks with hamstring strains and Richard Harvey, who struggled on against Caernarfon, will also be missing on Saturday. Danny Hughes is also suffering whiplash injuries following a car accident. These are key players and the manager may well look to bolster his much depleted squad. They face a difficult game on Saturday with Darren Ryan having strengthened his squad over the summer with the addition of Marc Lloyd Williams, Craig Moses (from Merthyr), Danny Jellicoe (Connah’s Quay) and Hugh Clarke (Caersws). 28/08/07 Rio wedi torri ei ffêr. / Rio has broken his ankle. Cadarnhawyd ofnau gwaethaf pob cefnogwr Porthmadog, gyda’r newyddion drwg fod Ryan Davies wedi torri ei ffêr yn y gêm yn erbyn Caernarfon bnawn Llun. Bydd hyn yn golygu ei fod yn annhebygol o ymddangos i Port eto cyn diwedd y flwyddyn. Cafodd Ryan driniaeth ar ei ffêr yn Ysbyty Gwynedd ddydd Mawrth. Dymunwn wellhad buan iddo. Brysia nôl Rio – mae Port dy angen di! The worst fears of every Porthmadog supporter were confirmed, with the bad news that Ryan Davies broke his ankle in the match against Caernarfon on Monday afternoon. This means that he is unlikely to appear in a Port shirt before the end of the year. Ryan received an operation on his ankle at Ysbyty Gwynedd on Tuesday. We wish him a swift recovery. Get back soon Rio – your club needs YOU! 26/08/07 Paul Lewis yn gadael? / Paul Lewis to leave? Rydym yn deall fod Paul Lewis, yr asgellwr ifanc a ymunodd a Phorthmadog yn ystod yr haf, ar fin gadael ac ail ymuno a’i gyn glwb Bermo a Dyffryn. Mae’n ymddangos mai problemau teithio yw’r rheswm am y newid sydyn hwn. Creodd Paul argraff dda iawn yn ystod y gêmau cyn dymor a hefyd mewn ymddangosiad fel eilydd yng nghanol yr wythnos yn erbyn Llangefni yng Nghwpan y Gynghrair. It is understood that Paul Lewis the young winger who joined Porthmadog this summer is about to leave the club and return to his former club Barmouth and Dyffryn. Travel problems are thought to be the reason for this sudden change of mind. Paul looked an excellent prospect during pre-season and made a promising substitute appearance in the League Cup against Llangefni in midweek. 26/08/07 Gemau Rownd Gyntaf y Cwpan Cenedlaethol/ Premier Cup Draw Bydd Porthmadog yn croesawu Port Talbot i’r Traeth ar gyfer Rownd gyntaf Cwpan Cenedlaethol y BBC. Chwaraeir y gêm yn ystod yr wythnos yn cychwyn 1 Hydref. Porthmadog will meet Port Talbot Town at the Traeth in the First Round of the FAW Premier Cup. The game will be played be played in the week beginning 1 October. Gemau eraill y rownd fydd / Other ties in the round are: Hwlffordd/Haverfordwest v Airbus UK Broughton Bangor v Aberystwyth Cei Conna v Caerfyrddin 20/08/07 Clubhouse yn agor ei ddrysau / Clubhouse opens its doors Er fod peth gwaith yn dal eto i wneud, roedd y ‘Clubhouse’ ar agor cyn y gêm yn erbyn Castell Nedd ddydd Sadwrn. Dywedodd yr ysgrifennydd Gerallt Owen fod y gwaith tua wythnos tu ôl i’r hyn yr oeddynt wedi’i obeithio a bod peth gwaith trydanol ac ychydig o waith coed yn dal i’w wneud. Ychwanegodd “Dwi’n siŵr fydd pawb yn cytuno bydd yr adeilad, ar ôl ei gwblhau, yn un gwerth chweil ac yn adeilad lle gellir cynnal llawer o weithgareddau a bydd yn adnodd sydd ar gael ar gyfer defnydd preifat fel penblwyddi, dathliadau, partïon gwaith ac achlysuron teuluol. Eisoes mae’r ystafell wedi’i llogi ar gyfer yr achlysur cyntaf ar 1 Medi –y cyntaf o lawer rwy’n siŵr.” Os am wneud ymholiad ynglŷn â llogi’r ‘clubhouse’ cysylltwch â’r clwb ar 079200 25338 neu 07816 213188. Although some work remains before the Clubhouse is fully completed, its doors were opened for Saturday’s fixture against Neath Athletic. Secretary, Gerallt Owen, said that they were about a week behind schedule and that some electrical work and a certain amount of joinery work remained to be done. He added “I am sure that all will agree that it will be an impressive venue when completed and should anyone wish to hire the club house for a private function, birthday, anniversary, works party, family occasion then please contact the club on 079200 25338 or 07816 213188. Our first booking is already lined up for 1 September and I am sure that this will be the first of many.” 19/08/07 Clayton yn bwriadu cryfhau canol cae / Clayton looking to strengthen midfield Yn sicr bydd yn dda gan ffyddloniaid y Traeth glywed cadarnhad gan y rheolwr ei fod yn bwriadu arwyddo chwaraewr i gryfhau canol y cae. Mae wedi bod yn amlwg ers peth amser fod angen gwneud hyn. Er nad yw’n ymddangos fod unrhyw drosglwyddiad ar fin ei gwblhau, mae’n debyg fod ganddo chwaraewr mewn golwg. Traeth regulars will no doubt be pleased with the news that the manager has confirmed his intention to strengthen the midfield, as this is an area which has needed strengthening for some time. Though the signing might not be imminent, he has his eye on the player whom he feels will be able to address the problem. 19/08/07 Y rheol un chwaraewr/un clwb yn golygu newid / One club/one player rule means change Amlinellodd y rheolwr, Clayton Blackmore, ei syniadau ynglŷn â defnyddio’r ail dîm yn y cyfnod newydd hwn gyda’r rheol o ‘un chwaraewr/un clwb’. Dywedodd “Bydd yn rhaid i mi ddefnyddio’r garfan gyfan yn ystod y tymor. Bydd chwaraewyr sydd ddim yn y garfan ar benwythnos penodol yn chwarae i’r ail dîm er mwyn cynnal eu ffitrwydd. Gwnes i chwarae yn erbyn Llanystumdwy wythnos ddiwethaf a ches fy synnu ar yr ochr orau gan y safon. Roedd Llanystumdwy yn gweithio’n galed iawn ac roedd yn gêm ddigon anodd. Mae cynnal ffitrwydd yn bwysig iawn i chwaraewyr a wedyn pan ddaw eu cyfle yn y tîm cyntaf byddant yn medru perfformio’n ar eu gorau.” Clayton Blackmore outlined his ideas for using the reserve team in the new era of one player/one club rule. He says “I will have to use my entire squad in the course of the season. Some players who are not involved on a specific weekend will have to play for the reserves to maintain their fitness. I played against Llanystumdwy last week and was pleasantly surprised by the standard. Llanystumdwy worked very hard and it proved to be a tough game. Maintaining fitness will be important for players so that when they get into the first team they will be able to perform.” 19/08/07 Be wnaiff yr FAW y tro yma?! / What will the FAW do this time?! Mewn digwyddiad sy'n swnio'n debyg iawn i'r un ym Mhorthmadog y tymor diwethaf, cafodd cefnogwr Casnewydd ei wahardd o Barc Spytty wedi iddo waeddi sylwadau hiliol ar chwaraewyr Maidenhead yn eu gêm ddydd Mercher diwethaf. Fel yn y digwyddiad ar y Traeth, mae Casnewydd wedi cymryd camau i wahardd y cefnogwr o'r maes am oes (stori'n llawn). Bydd canlyniad yr achos yma o ddiddordeb i gefnogwyr Porthmadog yn enwedig o gofio fod yr FAW wedi rhoi dirwy o £13,200 i Port ynghyd â thynnu 3 pwynt, cyn i'r gosb gael ei ostwng i ddim ond £1,000 (heb dynnu unrhyw bwyntiau) ar apêl. In an incident which has echoes of the one at Porthmadog last season, a Newport County supporter has been banned from Spytty Park after shouting racist remarks at Maidenhead players during their match last Wednesday. As with the incident at the Traeth, Newport have taken steps to ban the supporter from the ground for life (full story). The outcome of this incident will be of interest to Porthmadog supporters especially after the FAW fined Port £13,200 as well as deducting 3 points, before the punishment was reduced to only a £1,000 fine (with no point deduction) on appeal. 14/08/07 Y tymor newydd yn dechrau ddydd Sadwrn! / The new season starts Saturday! Castell Nedd fydd yr ymwelwyr ddydd Sadwrn ar gyfer gêm gynta’r tymor a bydd y clwb o’r de, sydd newydd ennill dyrchafiad gyda mantais dda o 12 pwynt, yn awyddus i gael cychwyn da yn UGC. Rheolwr y clwb ydy Andrew Dyer, cyn brentis gyda Crystal Palace. Eisoes mae Castell Nedd wedi chwarae un gêm gystadleuol sef honno ddydd Sadwrn (Awst 11) yn erbyn eu cymdogion Port Talbot yng Nghwpan y Gynghrair. Collwyd y gêm o 3-0. Bu’r clwb yn brysur yn arwyddo chwaraewyr gan gynnwys Brian Showdery a Richard French o’r Drenewydd, dau chwaraewr profiadol iawn. Ni gafodd Showdery y cychwyn gorau posib, gan iddo dderbyn cerdyn coch ddydd Sadwrn. Mae’r clwb hefyd wedi arwyddo sawl chwaraewr o Gynghrair y De. Yn eu carfan, mae nifer o chwaraewyr gyda phrofiad o UGC ond eu chwaraewr mwyaf profiadol ydy David D’Auria sydd wedi chwarae i nifer o glybiau yng Nghynghrair Lloegr gan gynnwys Abertawe a Scunthorpe. Neath Athletic are the visitors to the Traeth for Saturday’s season opener and the promoted club will be eager to get off to a flying start in the WPL. The club, who are managed by former Crystal Palace apprentice Andrew Dyer, won the Welsh League(South) by the comfortable margin of 12 points in 2006/07. They have already played one competitive match losing their League Cup game against neighbours Port Talbot by 3-0 on Saturday (August 11th). The club has been busy in the transfer market over the summer signing two experienced WPL campaigners in Brian Showdery and Richard French from Newtown and also signing several players from Welsh League (South) clubs. Showdery did not get off to the best start for his new club as he received his marching orders in Saturday’s defeat. Their squad includes several players who have previously played in the WPL but their most experienced player is David D’Auria whose former clubs include Swansea City and Scunthorpe United. 03/08/07 Dylan yn ennill cymeradwyaeth Blackmore / Dylan earns manager’s approval Mae Dylan Jones, blaenwr ifanc yr ail dîm, wedi creu argraff arbennig o dda yn y gêmau cyn-dymor yn sgorio’r gôl a sicrhaodd y fuddugoliaeth yn erbyn Nefyn a hefyd gôl hwyr i guro Bala nos Fawrth. Gyda Clayton Blackmore yn ystyried ei opsiynau ar gyfer gêm gyntaf UGC ar 18 Awst, dywedodd ei fod wedi’i blesio’n fawr gan berfformiadau Dylan. “Rydych yn gwybod beth i ddisgwyl efo Dylan. Mae o’n cynnig ei hun bob amser, yn sgorio goliau ac yn rhoi 110% bob tro yr aiff ar y cae. Os wnaiff gadw at y lefel mae eisoes wedi’i ddangos, mae ganddo bob siawns i aros yn y tîm,” meddai. Ond mae Blackmore yn cyfaddef y bydd hi’n agos iawn at ddechrau’r tymor cyn iddo wneud y penderfyniad terfynol am y tîm ar gyfer y gêm yn erbyn Castell Nedd. “Mae’n anodd am fod rhai o’r hogiau yn gweithio a rhai ar eu gwyliau; mae’n adeg rhyfedd o’r flwyddyn. Ar y funud, mae gennyf garfan o tua 18 chwaraewr ac erbyn y byddwn yn chwarae’r gêm ymarfer olaf yn erbyn Blackburn, bydd pawb ar gael ac yn ffit a hefyd yn barod am sefyllfa gêm gystadleuol.” Dywedodd am y gêmau cyfeillgar hyd yma fod y ddwy gêm yng Nghaergybi a Llandudno wedi’u heffeithio’n arw gan y gwynt cryf gan ychwanegu: “Mae ffitrwydd yr hogiau yn gwella drwy’r adeg a dyna wnaiff ddigwydd wrth iddynt dreulio mwy o amser ar y cae.” Reserve team striker, Dylan Jones has created a good impression in his pre-season appearances scoring the winner against Nefyn United and another late winner against Bala Town on Tuesday. As manager Clayton Blackmore considers his options ahead of the August 18th kick off, he has declared himself well pleased with Dylan’s contribution. “You know what you are going to get with Dylan. He puts himself about, scores goals and gives 110% every time he goes out on the pitch. If he keeps up the level he has shown so far; he has every chance of staying in the team,” he said But Blackmore admits it will be close to the start of the season before he makes his final decision on the composition of the team for the Neath game. “It is hard because some of the lads are working or they might be on holiday; it’s a funny time of the year. But at the moment I’ve got a squad of around 18 players and hopefully, by the time we play our last pre-season against Blackburn, everyone will be available and the fitness and match sharpness will be there.” Of the pre-season games played so far he commented that the games against Holyhead and Llandudno had been badly affected by the blustery wind but added: “The lads are getting fitter all the time and the more time they spend on the pitch the better they’re going to get.” 03/08/07 Newid yn y gêmau cyfeillgar / Fixture Change Mae newid arall wedi bod yn y rhestr gêmau cyfeillgar. Roedd Port i fod i chwarae yn erbyn Pwllheli ar nos Fawrth Awst 7fed ond, gan nad yw cae Pwllheli ar gael, bu’n rhaid canslo’r gêm honno. Ond mae Porthmadog wedi adrefnu ar frys gan sicrhau gêm yn erbyn Glantraeth i’w chwarae ar Y Traeth ar yr un noson sef 7 Awst gyda’r gic gyntaf am 7.30 pm. A further change has been made to the Porthmadog FC list of friendly matches. Porthmadog were due to travel to Pwllheli on Tuesday August 7th, but due to the unavailability of the Pwllheli pitch they had to pull out of the fixture. Porthmadog moved quickly to fill the gap by arranging a home match against Cymru Alliance side Glantraeth for the same night. Kick-off will be at 7.30pm. 30/07/07 Ashton Town v CPD Porthmadog Bydd Porthmadog yn chwarae gêm gyfeillgar yn erbyn Ashton Town ddydd Sadwrn (4 Awst) ar gae y clwb o’r North West Counties. Mae gan Martin Rookyard, un o gefnogwyr Port, air o gyngor i unrhyw gefnogwr sydd am deithio i ardal Manceinion. “Hoffwn bwysleisio mai Ashton Town (ac NID Ashton United) fydd gwrthwynebwyr Porthmadog ddydd Sadwrn. Mae Ashton Town yn chwarae yn Ashton-in-Makerfield ger Wigan tra fod Ashton United yn chwarae yn Ashton-Under-Lyme sydd 30 milltir yr ochr draw i Fanceinion. Nid wyf am i neb golli’r gêm drwy fynd i’r cae anghywir!!” Bydd y gic gyntaf ddydd Sadwrn am 1 o’r gloch. On Saturday (August 4th) Porthmadog visit the North West Counties club Ashton Town (not Ashton United!!). Porthmadog supporter Martin Rookyard has this reminder for potential travelling supporters. “Could I point out that the Ashton game is against Ashton Town, at Ashton-in-Makerfield near Wigan, and NOT Ashton United who play at Ashton Under Lyne, about 30 miles away on the other side of Manchester. I wouldn't like anyone to miss the game by going to the wrong ground!!!” The game kicks off at 1pm. 30/07/07 Canlyniadau etholiadau Cyngor Cymdeithas Pêl Droed Cymru / Results of the FAW Council Elections UGC/WPL (Un aelod/One member) Mike Harris 10, Alun Evans 5. Dechreuodd y chwaraewr 27 oed, ochr chwith, 30 o weithiau i Airbus yn ystod tymor 2004/05 gan sgorio tair gwaith. Ymunodd ag Airbus o glwb o Orllewin Caer, Christleton tra oedd yn fyfyriwr yng Ngholeg Caer gan symud yn 2006 i Bwcle yn y Cymru Alliance The former Airbus midfielder Richard Smart appeared for Porthmadog in the friendly at Holyhead. The 27 year old versatile left sided midfield player made 30 WPL starts for Airbus in the 2004-05 season scoring three times. He joined Airbus whilst a student at Chester College from West Cheshire club Christelton FC and later signing in 2006 for Cymru Alliance club Buckley Town. 25/07/07 Apêl am gymorth gyda’r ‘Clubhouse’ Newydd / Appeal for help with new Clubhouse Mae’r gwaith ar y Traeth wedi parhau drwy’r haf eleni. Gwelwyd datblygiad sylweddol ar y ‘Clubhouse’ newydd sbon. Mae’r fframwaith eisoes i fyny a bydd y gwaith ar y to wedi’i gwblhau yn fuan. Mae’r gwaith mewnol hefyd wedi cychwyn gyda deunydd insiwleiddio yn cael ei osod a hefyd dechrau ar y gwaith o osod y byrddau plastr. Er hynny, mae llwyth mawr o waith angen ei wneud rhwng rwan ac Awst 18fed, sef dyddiad yr agoriad. Mae’r plymars a’r trydanwyr wedi cwblhau y rhan gyntaf o’u gwaith ac yn dod yn ôl i gwblhau’r gwaith pan fydd y safle yn barod ar eu cyfer. Bydd y ffenestri a’r drysau yn cael eu gosod yn ystod yr wythnos nesaf; ond mae’r clwb yn galw allan am wirfoddolwyr i roi cymorth gyda gwaith coed, gosod byrddau plastr a phlastro, teilio a labro cyffredinol. Bydd swyddogion y clwb ar y safle bob nos o 6pm ymlaen ac y Sadwrn yma(Gorffennaf 28ain)bydd yna ddiwrnod cyfan o waith ar yr adeilad. Dewch i’r Traeth os y medrwch helpu. Bydd yna bryd bwyd poeth i’r gwirfoddolwyr sydd yn dod i helpu ddydd Sadwrn. Diolch am eich cefnogaeth. Gerallt Owen (Ysgrifennydd) There has been no let up in the activity at Y Traeth this summer despite the summer break. Work has been progressing on the club’s brand new club house. The structure itself is now up and ready and roofing will be completed soon. Internal work has also begun with insulation being fitted and plaster boarding already started. However there is an immense amount of work still to be done between now and the proposed opening date of August 18th. Plumbing and electrical contractors have completed their first fix and they will return to finish when the site is ready. Windows and doors are to be fitted next week; however the club is desperate for volunteers to help with joinery work, plaster boarding and plastering, tiling as well as general labouring. Club officials are on site every evening from about 6pm and this Saturday July 28th a whole day will be devoted to work on the building. Anyone who can help is urged to come down and lend a hand. On Saturday, a warm meal will be supplied along with refreshments to all who help out. Thanks for your support. Gerallt Owen (Secretary) 25/07/07 Gêm Llandudno yn newid lleoliad / Change of Venue for Llandudno fixture Oherwydd y gwaith sydd yn parhau ar y ‘Clubhouse’ ar Y Traeth ac hefyd i arbed gorddefnydd o’r cae cyn 18 Awst, bydd y gêm yn erbyn Llandudno, a oedd i’w chwarae ar Y Traeth ddydd Sadwrn (28 Gorffennaf) bellach yn cael ei chwarae ar gae Llandudno. Y gic gyntaf am 2.30 pm. Ar y Traeth bydd y gêm yn erbyn Bala ar nos Fawrth 31 Gorffennaf. With work continuing on the Clubhouse at the Traeth, Saturday’s fixture (July 28th) has been switched to the Llandudno club’s ground with a 2.30 pm kick off. This will also avoid the over use of the Traeth in this very wet period and ahead of the WPL kick off on August 18th. The game against Bala on Tuesday, July 31st will go ahead as planned on the Traeth. 24/07/07 Arbedwch 17% ar docyn tymor / Save 17% on a season ticket Mae CPD Porthmadog wedi cyhoeddi y bydd posib prynu tocynnau tymor ar gyfer y tymor nesaf. Rheolwr y tîm o’r ynys ydy cyn chwaraewr ac ymgeleddwr Port, sef Campbell Harrison, a gafodd tymor cyntaf llwyddiannus iawn gyda Chaergybi. Ei gynorthwyydd ydy Mark Williams, un arall o gyn chwaraewyr Port, ac ymysg eu chwaraewyr mwyaf addawol mae Curt Williams ac Ian Williams dau ac ymddangosodd i Port at ddiwedd tymor 2005/06. Bydd y gic gyntaf nos Fercher am 7 o’r gloch. Port will be hoping for better luck with the weather on Wednesday when they are to visit Holyhead. This will bring them up against former player and physio, Campbell Harrison, who enjoyed an excellent first season as manager at the Anglesey club. Campbell’s assistant is another former Porthmadog player Mark Williams and amongst the promising young players are Curt Williams and Ian Williams who appeared for Port at the end of the 2005/06 season. The kick off is at 7pm. 20/07/07 Gêm Llandyrnog wedi'i gohirio / Llandyrnog game cancelled Yn dilyn y glaw trwm heddiw, mae gêm heno yn erbyn Llandyrnog wedi ei gohirio. Bydd y gêm gyfeillgar nesaf oddi cartref yng Nghaergybi dydd Mercher nesaf (25ain). Following today's heavy rain, tonight's gaem against Llandyrnog has been cancelled. The next friendly game will be away at Holyhead next Wednesday (25th). 20/07/07 Port i wynebu Pwllheil mewn gêm gyfeillgar / Port to face Pwllheli in friendly Mae rheolwr newydd Porthmadog, Clayton Blackmore, wedi ffeindio lle yn ei amserlen cyn-dymor brysur i drefnu teithio i'n cymdogion ym Mhwllheli ar ddydd Mawrth Awst 7fed. Bydd y gêm yn dechrau am 6:30pm. New Porthmadog manager Clayton Blackmore has fitted in another match into his hectic pre-season schedule having arranged to travel to near neighbours Pwllheli on Tuesday August 7th. The match will kick-off at 6:30pm. 18/07/07 Gwrthwynebwyr nos Wener / Friday’s opponents Gwrthwynebwyr Port nos Wener fydd Llandyrnog, y clwb o Sir Ddinbych sydd yn chwarae yn y Cymru Alliance. Ffurfiwyd y clwb yn 1975 ac ar ôl cyfnodau yn chwarae yng Nghynghrair Clwyd a Chynghrair y Welsh Alliance daeth tro ar fyd pan apwyntiwyd John James yn rheolwr yn 2002/03. Sicrhawyd dau ddyrchafiad mewn dwy flynedd gan godi i’r Cymru Alliance am y tro cyntaf yn eu hanes. Yn eu tymor cyntaf yn y Cymru Alliance, roeddynt yn geffylau blaen am gyfnod ond ar ddiwedd y tymor cyntaf gorffennodd y clwb yn barchus iawn yn y 6ed safle. Ond yn y ddau dymor dilynol, cafwyd llai o lwyddiant gan orffen yn 13eg yn 2005/06 a 15fed yn 2006/07. Llandyrnog Utd, Port’s opponents on Friday evening, have played in the Cymru Alliance for the past three seasons. The Denbighshire club was formed in 1975 and after periods in the Clwyd League and the Welsh Alliance a change of fortunes followed the appointment of John James as manager for 2002/03. They secured promotion in two successive seasons which saw them promoted to the Cymru Alliance for the first time in their history. In their first season in that league, they were front runners for a period and ended the season in a respectable 6th position. In the last two seasons, they have not been able to reproduce that sort of form and in 2005/06 finished in the 13th spot and last season they ended the season in 15th position. 17/07/07 Caer yn tynnu allan o gêm nos Wener / Chester City pull out of fixture Mae clwb Caer, a oedd i fod i chwarae gêm gyfeillgar ar Y Traeth nos Wener nesaf, wedi hysbysu Port eu bod yn tynnu allan o’r trefniant. Er fod y newyddion yma wedi dod yn hwyr iawn, mae’r swyddogion i’w canmol am symud yn gyflym i sicrhau gêm arall nos Wener. Y gwrthwynebwyr fydd Llandyrnog sydd yn chwarae yn y Cymru Alliance. Dylai cefnogwyr nodi y bydd y gic gyntaf ar Y Traeth nos Wener am 7.30 pm. Mae penderfyniad siomedig Caer, yn ogystal â’r timau gwan maent wedi gyrru i’r Traeth yn y blynyddoedd diwethaf, yn awgrymu mai trefniant i’w osgoi fydd hwn i’r dyfodol. Chester City who were due to play a pre-season friendly against Porthmadog on Friday evening at the Traeth but have, at this late juncture, pulled out of the fixture. Port officials are to be congratulated on reacting quickly and have managed to arrange a replacement fixture against Cymru Alliance club Llandyrnog United. Supporters should note that this rearranged fixture will kick off at 7.30 pm at the Traeth. This action by the League Two club, together with the very weak sides which they have sent to the Traeth in recent years, suggests that this may well be a fixture arrangement to avoid in future. 17/07/07 Phil ar Taro’r Post / Phil on Radio Cymru Roedd cadeirydd Porthmadog, Phil Jones, yn un o banel ar Taro’r Post ar Radio Cymru yn trafod symudiad posib i chwarae yn yr haf. Eraill ar y panel oedd Huw Roberts (Llanelli), rheolwr Y Trallwng Tomi Morgan a Jeff Thomas (Caerfyrddin). Er fod Huw Roberts o blaid newid, roedd y farn gyffredinol yn erbyn gan deimlo fod yna faterion eraill pwysicach yn dylanwadu ar ddatblygiad y gynghrair a’i llwyddiant yn Ewrop. Y mater llosg yn dal ydy tan fuddsoddi yn UGC –yn safon y caeau ac yn y drefn academi. Mae’r apêl flynyddol gan John Deakin, ysgrifennydd y gynghrair, yn osgoi wynebu gwir broblemau’r gynghrair a’i datblygiad. Yr un oedd barn y panelwyr â’r hyn a ddywedodd cyn rheolwr Port, Osian Roberts, mewn cyfweliad gyda’r Wales on Sunday a hefyd cyn rheolwr Bangor, Peter Davenport, yn siarad gyda’r Non-League Paper. Galwad y ddau oedd i’r Gymdeithas Bêl Droed fuddsoddi llawer mwy yn strwythur UGC. Port chairman Phil Jones took part in a lunch time discussion on Radio Cymru on the matter of Summer Football. Others taking part included Huw Roberts (Llanelli), Welshpool manager Tomi Morgan and Jeff Thomas (Carmarthen Town). Though Huw Roberts favoured a switch to the summer for the WPL, the consensus was against, feeling that there were other, more pressing problems, which needed tackling and these would have a far greater bearing on success for Welsh clubs in Europe. The bone of contention remains under investment in the WPL –in academies and playing surfaces. The annual appeal by League Secretary John Deakin for a switch was seen as more of a smokescreen to conceal the real problems of the WPL and its development. The views expressed mirror what ex-Port manager Osian Roberts said in a Wales on Sunday interview and ex-Bangor manager Peter Davenport speaking to the Non-League Paper, with both calling for much needed investment by the FAW in the WPL and its structure. 13/07/07 Y tymor yn dechrau fory! / The season starts tomorrow! Bydd y gêm, sy'n dechrau am 2pm, yn gyfle i Clayton Blackmore weld y mwyafrif o'i garfan am y tro cyntaf ers iddo gael ei benodi'n rheolwr. £2 fydd mynediad i oedolion gyda pensiynwyr yn £1 a phlant am ddim.
